- Balazs (10/5): Unique experience in a separate bridge house for single travellers or couples - This is an amazing 3-storey bridge house to the north of the centre of the city. Ferry is about 10-minutes walk away. It is a very unique staying experience. You basically get a whole house with 3 small stories. I loved every minute of it. There is just 1 bedroom so it's only suitable for 2, but the bed is super comfortable. It was a bit cold (in February) in the stairwell as it's difficult to heat up every place but I was energy-savvy and just adjusted myself. The view with the large windows at the top is really cool, too. Kitchen is well-equipped. You also have some board games provided to play. Perfect, hot water in the shower. (Keep in mind there are steep stairs to climb here.) Oh, and there are more of these houses in the city so I'll be looking forward to try other SWEETS properties, as well!
- AMARNATH (8/5): - Moderne Ausstattungen, fußweg von Amsterdam Centraal, sicht auf ein kanal Steile Treppen, bisschen gefährlich
- Giorgio (8/5): - Noisy due to location, else very good
- Cristina (10/5): -

- Patryk (10/5): - Amazing place, quite unique and in very competitive price. When we forgot to left key card inside after checkout, the stuff told as to keep it as souvenir. It is a little noise from road and metro, however In such building it is completely understandable, and also the object provides earplugs.
- Lee (4/5): A unique canal side stay. - Very unusual place to stay. It was warmer than the earth’s core when I arrived. Shame the windows don’t open further. The Suites tablet doesn’t seem to work.
- Iglesias Ogassawara (8/5): Quirky bridge house in a good location - This was a very unusual stay, we really enjoyed the whole experience, but if you're looking for a regular hotel this is not for you! The room, bathroom and living room are all located on different floors, and it's an 8min walk to the free ferry over to the city centre (runs pretty regularly and till late). The views from the living room are great, and watching the opening of the bridge was a ritual we were happy not to have missed! The noise outside is pretty moderate, we even slept with the window open. This neighbourhood (Noord) is still up and coming, but we found some lovely cafés nearby. It's a perfect place if you want to stay away from the madness of more central Amsterdam, but still pretty close to everything! The curtains in the room look a bit tired and in need of replacement, so does the broken window
- Oleksii (10/5): Not the most comfortable place to stay at, but the vibes are exceptional. Definitely going to stay in one of these bridg -
- Hanna (10/5): -
- Irina (7/5): Good -
- Tamas (8/5): Very good -
- Yuebo (10/5): Fun stay having the old water tower all to myself. -
- Sadi (7/5): Love it or hate it... - This is NOT a hotel room. It's the control tower for a bridge that's no longer in use. Bedroom on the first floor, toilets and shower on the second and lounge on the third. The stairs are very steep. Very! But, it has a soul of its own. Don't know if I love it, or hate it!
- Pawel (8/5): Very good - Location is awesome Poor WIFI
- Dorian (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (8/5): Comfortable and unique - The view, location and it’s quirkiness of the building The bedroom was different to the pictures on booking.com and a cracked window.
- Ross (10/5): Charming and enjoyable stay! - We really really enjoyed our time at SWEETS - Gerben Wagenaarbrug!
The space is unique but very charming. Although we were only there for a couple of nights, we felt right at home.
The only suggestion I might make would be to let guests know that it is quite remote. There arent as many shops/stores nearby (which is fine) but a bit less expected in a city as busy as Amsterdam.
We also really enjoyed the coffee/tea station and the books/games and other amenities on site. I ended up purchasing the SWEETS book but also purchased a copy of an additional book that was in our room from a different site. Having little things like the coffee station, books and games made if feel homie.
Communication from SWEETS staff was quick and friendly... Thank you!

- Andy (9/5): This is an exceptional experience. - This is a very special location: a refurbished watchtower for a mechanical bridge over a canal. It's situated at the back of the central station. You can take the free little ferries over het IJ and then easily walk to the tower. It's very cosy and well equipped and surprisingly little noise from the street. It's not accessible for wheel chairs, with some steep stairs. There's no breakfast, but there's a small kitchen.
- Vera (9/5): Great idea, nice location - The location, interior , the general idea to live in the Haus on the bridge ! water in the shower poorly was going through the drain hole out.
- Lafazanov (10/5): Exceptional - The chance to use the whole tower for ourselves. The location very close to Amsterdam Central a 5 minute walk and a free ferry. No kitchen equipment - maybe a stove and a bigger fridge would do a lot to this place.
Because of the curtains windows can't be opened wide enough.
- Vira (10/5): Great experience and proper quality - The view, comfort, history. It had all we needed for a one night stay.
We chose the property because of its unique architecture. It was fun.
Great memories about that day. All was good. Maybe for sensitive people it will be hard to fall asleep
- Pavel (5/5): sadly bad - The location, the history of the place, emotions abt staying. So, it was disgusting.
First of all not really clean rooms and cockroachs are everywhere.
Next one-is broken electrical system. There was no light and enternet, because something was broken, and so of that we had to change place-at my request the owner booked regular room in another hotel. So I didn’t receive any emotions and the vacation was ruined. I request owners to monitor their numbers and provide service at an appropriate price.
- Carly (8/5): Very good - Very cool place to stay. Great location, can get the free ferry and walk from central. Love the repurposed bridge house, it was comfortable A bit noisy from the bridge traffic but earplugs were provided.
- Pieter (8/5): A pleasant stay in a nice facility. - History and location small refrigerator and parking facilities
- Caroline (7/5): Quirky but overpriced for underwhelming accommodation - Quirky property in a great location. comfortable bed. some nice original features left on show and the history of the property was interesting. I was really looking forward to this stay but it fell short of expectation and was in the end, just average accommodation, albeit quirky. Some of the decor was cheap, lights were quite dusty, curtains in the bedroom needed fixed to the track and the noise from the road outside was loud (single glazing). It was cold and we couldn‘t find instructions anywhere how to work the heaters and there were no mugs at all.
