Guest Reviews
- Misato (2/5): - Mold was coming out of the vents in several rooms at the hotel.
- Delmy A (10/5): - Clean room
- Marius Razvan (10/5): - Easy check-in and checkout. Friendly staff. Extremely convenient location. If you want more than the one pillow, serve yourself with another from the lobby... earlier in the day than too late.
- Vladlens (10/5): - outstanding place to stay
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Very simple room was clean and comfortable
- Braden (10/5): - Great location
- LEONARDO (8/5): - Great little practicle hotel
- Chaoying (10/5): - Everything is perfect with this hotel, location, service and breakfast.
- Chantal (6/5): - Small room hard to move
The pillows are inconfortable
Good location
Additional cost required to extended 45 minutes the check out
Not a lot of restaurants close to the hotel. The hotel’s restaurant is poor
- Jim (8/5): - Great location.
- Reetal (8/5): - The stay was wonderful, the staff was very polite and helpful! The only con was the size of the room, however if you are to explore all day, thats not a big deal! Loved the location!!
- Madelyn (10/5): - Everything from check in to check out was great! The air conditioning was amazing!
- Marlee (10/5): - My friend and I were visiting from Canada and I would say this was probably my favourite hotel stay out of our entire trip. Our hotel was in a quiet area, yet really close to a lot of food places, a 7/11 (which is a travel essential) and multiple train lines. The staff was very accommodating and kind, and I always felt like I was in good hands. We also had breakfast included in our stay and the spread was always varied and delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
- Andrew (10/5): - Close to station. Close to some great restaurants.
Room was neat and clean and just what we needed
- tanya (10/5): - Great
- Caitlin (10/5): - Clean room, quiet at night, convenient transit options and also walkable to Tokyo Station. We had our luggage held the last day and that was very convenient. Would stay here again.
- Joanne (10/5): - Everything is good
- Mark (8/5): - The hotel was good value, nothing more, nothing less. Very convenient for the metro system. Rooms small, but OK, and suited me for a week at the World Athletics Championships.
- Stephen (10/5): - I’ve just got back from an 11 night stay at the Sotetsu hotel and it was a great place to stay. The location is 3 minutes walk from Kanda station and 8 minutes walk from Otemachi station which both have convenient tube lines and only one stop from Tokyo.
The hotel was not in a massively touristy spot, so the restaurants nearby were authentic and welcoming. The staff at the hotel were amazing and every time you walk in/out they welcome you. The staff member with the blue hair (I didn’t get their name) was incredibly helpful and friendly and a real asset to the team, even though they were only in training.
This hotel was perfect location as it was 20-30 mins away from the big attractions.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but I didn’t mind as we still had enough space for everything and all the souvenirs! I would say nowhere to store your suitcases so they have to sort of sit along the wall, but you have enough space to walk about.

- Juana (10/5): - Staff was very welcoming, helpful and I so appreciated after 12-hour international travel. Every day staff was nice. Hotel had everything that I needed and I would stay here again! Thank you, hotel staff!
- Fallon (10/5): - The staff were very helpful and patient. The lobby provides many complimentary items such as toothbrushes and razors, and there is a cash machine for easy conversion or making change. This area is more residential, so it's a nice place to retreat after exploring the busier parts of the city. Many places to eat, plenty of convenience stores, and easy access to multiple stations. Highly recommend!
- Oleksandra (10/5): - The location of the hotel is very convenient and is in a perfect walking distance to all the major tourist spots. The metro is 5 mins away, which makes it even better.
- Ian (10/5): - Clean room, staff
- Jeremy (10/5): - Location is great , we walked to akihabara from hotel ! Fantastic staff and room was extremely clean . If you know how to be organized the size of the room won’t matter
- Scott (10/5): - Great for solo travel! English friendly and very helpful staff. Would stay again. Thanks
- Christian (10/5): - Great hotel
- Nely (10/5): - great locations. walking distance to Kanda stations. Friendly service, good size room
- Christian (10/5): - Excellent experience
- Jessica (10/5): - The apartment was very comfy, additional pillows available downstairs if there are not enough. Vending machine in the building with ice available too. Washing machine was easy to use.
- Ken (10/5): Sotetsu Fresa Inn was great!!! - The Sotetsu Fresa Inn was very clean and near Tokyo station. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. My bed and room was very comfortable and clean. The amenities are very nice as well. Overall, I would definitely stay here again for the location and peaceful surroundings. Many restaurants in the area to choose from at all times. I had a very nice stay in Tokyo!
- Ericson (10/5): - Excellent location. Close to the train station but not busy. Plenty of restaurants and convenient stores that are walking distance
- Emelie (10/5): - Beautiful, comfortable, affordable and convenient!
- Nicolas (10/5): - Near the station. Quiet area. Has some cheap dinner options around.
- Jason (10/5): - Best foreigner-friendly hotel experience! This hotel is my go-to when staying multiple nights in Tokyo. I have recommended to others, who also have said great things about it.
- Alfonso Miguel Cruz (10/5): - I had a perfect experience. Staff was incredibly accomodating and friendly. The rooms were very clean. It's location was close to Kanda Station and Otemachi station, so it's incredibly convenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - My room at this Sotetsu inn is slightly bigger than the one I stayed at in the Ueno area. Room is quiet and comfortable, though you should mind the height difference when you step out of the bathroom. Nonetheless, this hotel provides stepping stools if it bothers any guest. A short walk to the JR Kanda station.
- anna (10/5): - Great location, close to the metro
- Sau Kwan (10/5): - Nice
- Rich (10/5): Nice cheap place to stay in Kanda (Tokyo) - Centrally located hotel near the Kanda station. More laid back feel. Staff spoke English and the location was popular with foreigners. Some good reasonably priced places to eat nearby.
- Anthony (10/5): - Everything was very nice at the hotel. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful with checking in and out. The room was nice, although the bed could’ve been a little softer. Overall I would definitely stay here again on my next trip!
- Tran Dinh Hai (10/5): - I d recommend this hotel for those who visits Tokyo. The location is superb. One minute to get to Kanda stn on foot. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and the hotel condition is nice in general. The neighborhood is clean, safe and full of good ramen restaurants.
However, the policy should be flexible for those early check-in guests if its not too busy or in low season instead of charging for an hour of early check-in.
- Anthony (10/5): - It was a great place to stay. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful with checking in, checking out, and even with holding our bags. It had all the amenities I wanted plus it was nice how close it was to the train station for traveling. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to travel to Japan!
- Sonya (10/5): - This hotel was perfectly placed for access to public transportation. Its location was perfect for our needs. The staff were super helpful and very polite. We had a very good few days there.
- David (10/5): Great clean option - Great location close to Kanda train station. Nice and clean and well A/C and friendly front desk. Breakfast in restaurant is not very good, recommend getting food oustside of hotel.
- Eng Hin (10/5): - Clean room, helpful staff, quiet location, walking distance to Kanda station.
- Leah (10/5): - Decent size and excellent location
- Fukumi (10/5): - The receptionists were very nice
- Matthew (10/5): Just perfect - Absolutely fantastic. Brilliant location 5 minute walk from JR Kanda Station. Lovely clean rooms with every amenity we could ever need. Incredibly comfortable beds and cosy linen. Staff are incredibly helpful.
- Marlena (10/5): - This was a pleasant surprise. The room was small compared to US hotels, but it was not so small you cant move. I am 5’10 and the bed was a perfect fit. Very soft. Only one pillow, but they had extras in the lobby. The lobby contained all the ammenities which was cool. Ice and microwave on the 2nd floor was also a nice surprise. Shower/tub was adjustable height so i fit under it fine. Also, great water pressure. No complaints at all.
- Emma (10/5): - clean, good location and big room for the price:)
- Lance (10/5): - I loved this hotel. It was very comfortable ands it was close to the major train stations if I had to go out. Not to mention, it was walkable distance to all the of the best kombinis. Nicole was the person at the front seat that always assisted me with my needs and was very helpful in recommending places to visit, shop, and eat. Thank y’all so much!
- Syed (2/5): - No mineral Water service provide, if I ask for water bottle there saying use washroom tap for drinking water.
- jennifer (10/5): - Rooms were small but efficiently designed. You can find everything you need at hotel or within walking distance. Location was great too. Short walk to Kanda station which is one stop from Tokyo Station. Tons of dining options within walking distance.
- Julie (8/5): - Staff was very helpful.
- M (10/5): - Good
- Jun (8/5): - Great staff
- Ting Yao (8/5): - small rooms
- Oren (10/5): - The location, amenities, cleanliness and particularly staff were excellent.
After my stay here in Tokyo I actually changed a booking in another location to a Sotetsu Hotel because I was so impressed with how my stay was in Tokyo
- Yuen Yan (10/5): - Great locations close to Kanda or Otemachi stations. Room is clean and in a quiet area. We had a good stay.
- Cindy (10/5): - I would recommend to stay! It’s so conveniently located - easily subwayable and only 3 min walk to Kanda station. Small rooms but they were clean and bed was comfy
- pamela anne (8/5): - Very near Kanda station. A short walk to lots of restaurants. Very near Lawsons/convenient stores.
Rooms are clean but sofa needs updating/re-upholstered.
Kind front desk staff. I requested my rooms to be booked on the same floor but they werent able to accommodate.
- Ryan (8/5): - Good location. Close to train stations and restaurants. Room was comfortable and decently sized.
- Michelle (10/5): - Easy check in. Very clean room and bathroom. They provide supplies of tooth brush/paste, face mask, lotions, body towels, brushes, etc. in the lobby that is easily accessible to grab more when needed.
The location is walkable to the Imperial Palace and the Kanda station. We would stay here again!
- Kulwalee (10/5): - Staffs are very nice. The hotel closes to train station and restaurants.
- Chadi (10/5): - Very convenient
- JITESH (10/5): - Great stay conveniently close to the train station. Nice selection of amentities available at the front desk and very nice staff.
Rooms are quite small but that's typical of most places in Tokyo.
- Denise Winnie (8/5): - A business hotel located near Kanda Station. Bed was comfortable. Lots of free amenities like face masks, face wash, tooth brush, and different pillows.
- Ryan (10/5): Great Hotel near Major Metro Stations - Great hotel right near two major stations of the metro line! Hotel was clean, staff were extremely friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. Area had many restaurants, convenient stores, activities, and felt safe. Would highly recommend staying here!
- Mazin (10/5): - Rooms were a tad bit on the smaller end but that is to be expected in Tokyo I guess.
Apart from that everthing was great including the amazing breakfast.
- Alaka (4/5): - Anything that I like about this hotel has nothing to do with the hotel itself. My room was disgusting. Walls were filthy, even had a blood stain. Carpets old, dirty, and smelled terrible. Bathroom smelled like a combination of mould and warm poop. The colour of the decor was 1970s brown depressing. Just bad. On the plus side, firm bed and pillows, and unlimited amenities like bath soaps, creams, razors, coffee tea etc. And the Kanda surrounding area is fantastic. Centrally located to train and other parts of Tokyo. Staff was disappointing too. Felix was sweet, and Katsura is lovely and kind. But unfortunately, I feel Nicole rubbed me the wrong way. She asked overly personal questions about my background, and she speaks so loudly, which is unusual in soft-spoken Japan. Maybe she has a hearing problem. And generally, the staff did a terrible job with recommendations. I asked one male staff where to get good Japanese curry rice in the Kanda area, and instead of recommending one of the umpteen curry houses near the hotel, he told me "just don't go to a chain restaurant". Not helpful. Travellers are weary and jet lagged, far from home, and we want advice and recommendations and directions... And some passion for the neighbourhood. Anyways, goodbye Sotetsu. Never again.
Canada’s largest network.
- yongwei (10/5): - It is a typical Japanese business hotel with small rooms but it is very clean and in a great location, close to Kanda station and Tokyo station. There are many restaurants nearby.
- Tania Sanai (10/5): - This is the best option I could have done for my stay in Tokyo! Close to everything, walkable from the station; the staff was always so nice and helpful. The room actually had different mirrors, something that I missed a lot in other hotels after that.
- DENNIS (10/5): - Walking area and save
- Maximilian (8/5): - Basic hotel with very clean rooms and common areas. The only issue I had with the hotel was the small pillow, better pillows can be rented from the hotel.
- Sue (8/5): - Great budget hotel, just remember to grab a step so you can get into the bathroom easily.
- Rachel (10/5): - Perfect location, my favorite hotel in Tokyo!
- Belinda (10/5): - Very supportive and nice staff!
- Winfred (10/5): - Great hotel! Very clean and all employees were super helpful
- Sarah-Jane (10/5): - Just home from a lovely 5 night stay at this hotel. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Hotel has free items in lobby for you to help yourself. Scales to weigh luggage. Check in is at 3pm but they have luggage storage. The area is safe and quiet with only a 5 min walk to Kanda station with one stop to Tokyo station which is perfect for connection to other stations and Shinkansen. Hotel is clean and tidy. Our room was perfect size for the two of us with room for two large suitcases and two cabin cases. Definately recommend and we would stay here again when visiting Tokyo. Thank you very much.
- Gordon (8/5): - This was a fine hotel, very similar to other Tokyo hotels (like Apa and LiveMax) in terms of how the room was designed. No problems or complaints, but it didn't blow me away, and I reserve 5 stars for places that amaze me. The staff was particularly good and nice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff is friendly and helpful, especially Nicole and Mai at the front desk.
- Tibor (10/5): - I spent 8 nights at the hotel. The room was on the small side, but in excellent condition and clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast is available, it is cheap, but even cheaper if pre-booked. I tried it once, but there are cafes and restaurants nearby for alternatives. The hotel is centrally located. It is a short 1km walk from Tokyo Station, providing easy and direct access to Narita Express to/from the airport, and to Shinkansen to other destinations. Kanda Station is only 400m away. I walked everywhere, so I didn't have to use the metro. The area is quiet with short walks to exciting areas like the Imperial Palace Gardens, Tokyo Station, Ginza, and Akihabara. At this price point, and given the central location, it is an excellent choice for city explorers who don't mind tighter quarters.
- Xinrui (10/5): - Tiny but very clean room.Great for solo traveler. Walking distance to the subways. Convenient store nearby
- Ramzi (10/5): - Great place . Great staff
- Nandalal (10/5): - This is locate din really convenient location for all except for dinning. But easy to reach out anywhere as the station is near by.
- Nandalal (10/5): - Located in quite area. Not much options for shopping and dinning, but easy get our anywhere you want as the station is near by.
- Vasilisa (10/5): Great Stay! - Clean, simple room, good amenity items.
- Kwan Ling (10/5): - Definitely try out the bar-restaurants around the hotel, they have the most amazing food I have eaten over my stay.
- Tessa (10/5): - The location was great! It's a short walk to the station and has a 24 hour coin laundry about a minute away. There are convivence stores down the road both ways which offer 24 hour service. The hotel itself was wonderful! Free amenities were in the hotel lobby and updated daily with different scents (bath powder) or flavors (tea). The hotel also offered free additional pillows for your room, but it was a first-come-first-served basis, so if you need an extra pillow, it's easiest to grab later in the night when they've come back from cleaning from recent checkouts. The only issue I personally had with the hotel was the locked air conditioner. With the fluctuating temperatures in Tokyo during April, it was a real issue to not have freedom to turn down the air on especially hot days rather than have it on constant heat settings. However, this was resolved after a few days, and it was adjustable for cooling the room. The hotel also will request to clean your room every three days, and only has the option for getting new towels or a full room make up, which isn't ideal if you have a ton of luggage and don't really need a full make up. We had to tie up our own trash bags and put them outside for daily pickup and either leave our towels in the bathroom for three days or bag them up and put them outside as well.
Overall, I would happily book through this hotel again even with the little hiccups. Great location, wonderful staff and superb rooms.
- Clara (10/5): - Pretty easy walkable distance from Kanda station, good size room, and friendly staff!
- Bart Simon Herm (10/5): - Place that gets quiet at night, a short walk away from Kanda Station and Tokyo Station.
I'd say "good value for the price you pay" but to be honest this is a better value/price ratio than I got out of any hotel I've been to in Europe or the USA.
Will definitely keep them in mind for a future Tokyo visit.
If you're tall like me: pay a bit more and get a room with a wider bed.
- Rocio (10/5): - 10/10🌟
- Heather (8/5): - This property is very close to the train/metro system. There are lots of restaurants nearby and well as convenience stores.
The room is very utilitarian. The pillow was rather odd, but there were others to choose from in the lobby.
It was a very nice stay.
- Megan (10/5): - Love the location and the property was so clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My hotel experience here has made me want to book all my hotels with Sotetsu Hotels. Amenities provided was excellent. Place was very clean and rooms were better than standard size. Staff will give their best and beyond to provide service. Only downside to the hotel was there were only two washing machines (would've loved if they were ensuite as well). Location was okay but not very interesting.
- Alexis A. (10/5): - Super clean and accessible to a ton of train stations.
- Darian (8/5): - Nice place to stay
- Yoo Kyoung (10/5): - The room was very clean and modern, there were many toiletries supplied, and the check in/check out was very quick and smooth. Thank you for the great stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Relaxing stay in Tokyo - Enjoyed our stay at Sotetsu Fresa. It was the end of our trip so I was relieved that they let us check in early. It seems rare in Japan.
I liked that there was a small sitting area in our room and actually could seat two people. Breakfast was okay. Not as much choice as other hotels but was good. Looking forward to try other Sotetsu Hotels.
- Behnam (10/5): - I usually do not write reviews but this hotel made me to share my positive experiences. The hotel is in great location that it close to stations, restaurants and shopping centers. The area is safe and quite, and the hotel is cleaned and organized. but the main points is the great customer service and the frindly staff. They will support and help customers for any issues or concerns. They helped me to fill out the luggage delivery application and made sure evrything is going well which it removed my stress. I strongly recommend this hotel to Tokyo visitors. Thank you Nicole for you help to handle our luggage delivery.
