• Andrei (5/5): they asked for payment outside the booking platform which I refused even though they kept insisting - - the problems started when they asked us to pay in advance outside the booking platform on a link sent by them... something that I refused for security reasons... and because there are so many stories about such frauds... at the reception they kept insisting that this is how they do it and there is no other way even though the night before we had stayed at another hotel also in Barcelona where the payment was made normally through booking... So it is a rather unsafe hotel from this point of view... I refused to pay on that link provided... I paid at the reception... despite all their threats

La piscine est juste à côté, nous souhaitions profiter de ce havre de paix mais la musique commerciale qui envahie les oreilles au moment de la sieste post piscine, pas à la hauteur d'un 4 étoiles.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona. The location is close to many of the attractions and transportation (Metro and Buses). There are plenty of great restaurants within feet of the hotel.

I also enjoyed the experience on the rooftop and it was nice to sit and relax after a long day exploring the city. The staff was always friendly and accommodating.

Lots of good bars and restaurants within a 5/10 minute walk Although on a busy road, very quiet at night in the room with very comfy beds and pillows. Water pressure was very low. Good looking "rain shower" , but one had to jump from drop to drop....
• sallyb746 (10/5): Great Hotel - We recently stayed at the Occidental Diagonal 414 for a 5 night stay, great location for us as we attended the Barcelona Open Tennis tournament. Used the bus and the metro. Recommend getting the 10 trip travel pass from the tobacco shop opposite the hotel. pass can be used on the bus/metro and tram. Bus stops outside the hotel and metro station around the corner. Our room was a deluxe but was quite small with a balcony, although we had to move the bedside table to open the door. Very clean, very comfy bed, didn't really like that the bathroom basin area is open into the room.(prefer it to be private) The toilet and shower have sliding doors. The breakfast was great, everything you would want. We dined in a few pf the local restaurants and had drinks in a local bar across the road and on the next block corner. Sorry cannot remember the name! Roof top bar was fantastic, we didn't get time to use the pool.

• kristinas377 (2/5): Bad experience & no acknowledgement from staff after receiving promise - Unfortunately, we had a terrible night at the Occidental Diagonal 414 in Barcelona. We had to endure a constant rumbling noise in our room that went on every 5-7 minutes with a vibration strong enough to rattle the items on our bedside table. We shared this with the front desk and they never took it to management. We still have not received an apology or acknowledgement from management.

Great location and facilities - the rooftop is gorgeous and provides amazing views of the nearby Casa de les Punxes. We wish we had brought our swimming costumes so that we could have used the rooftop pool. We didn’t book any food but would recommend a local bakery called Prima Salvaje for the most amazing pastries and coffee.

Only downside would be if you're a light sleeper it gets a bit loud at night, I think it might be the underground metro, I'm not sure it didn't bother me but it bothered my partner a little bit so thats why I gave the score for the sleep quality.

Staff and reception – 10/10: Very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. Design and location – 10/10: The hotel has a very nice design and is in an excellent location. Transport: Very close to Verdaguer metro station (L4/L5), which makes it easy to get around the city and reach the airport. Nearby amenities: Many shops, a tobacconist, supermarkets, and restaurants are all within walking distance. Very dusty room: Cleanliness could be improved. Thin walls: We could hear almost everything from other rooms and the hallway. Limited storage: Due to the chic, modern design, there was almost no space to put clothes, and there were no drawers. Bathroom not practical: There were no hangers in the bathroom. Poor sound insulation in bathroom: The bathroom walls were very thin as well. +1: The toilet door on the mezzanine floor got stuck, and we had to force the door open with the staff. This delayed us on our way to the airport. Given the inconvenience, it would have been nice if the staff had offered a small complimentary gesture or at least called a taxi for us.

The room itself was brilliant - well designed, in a good shape and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was one of the best I've had for a while. Apart from the above, what stood out the most was the personnel: everyone is very kind and always keen to assist.

• Georgios (9/5): New facilities, clean hotel, very good food, good location, great bed = excellent stay - The facilities are new, it is a very clean hotel, the food is excellent, the staff is really warm, responsive and friendly. The location was pretty good, not very central but still walking distance to the center, close to the Metro and very easy to find a taxi any time of the day. There wasn't enough hanging and storage space. I think that was the only weekend. Plan to bring few clothes. I had at least 3 suits plus all kinds of other clothes and my wife had as many, so space became tight, but we managed alright.

The rooms were EXCEPTIONALLY small. It is clear that what used to be one large room was divided and made into TWO rooms of FAR smaller space.

Banheiro não era muito confortável, o box ja abria direto no quarto. No entanto, o hotel é muito bom e esse aspecto não me impediria de hospedar novamente lá. Recomendo.
