Guest Reviews
- Klajd (1/5): STAY AWAY.....plase take some time to read the review before you book .... - The location was good Where to beginnn...
I had stayed a couple of years before with my wife and really enjoyed the experience.
This time it definitely was not nice.
I had a problem with my flight and needed to stay one more day at the property so I messaged clapa via WhatsApp and they said 150 for one night when I had just payed 100 at booking and they left my message seen they didn't reply to me when I asked about the price. Also they were messaging me in Italian and I when I asked the lady at the reception why not speak in English she said to me when are in Italy and I should learn Italian. I mean fair enough but as English is international language and they are a travel agency would be nice to talk in English as they make their living of tourists.
Another problem was that I had booked the room at Umberto 1 and the lady when I went to the reception gave me a different apartment not the one I had booked. So the check-in is at another address and after 3 always so I did my check-in and had to walk 1 mile to the apartment and went to the wrong apartment then came back to the check in address it was like 1 mile away changed my appartment and they game me the one I booked then had to walk back to the apartment that wasn't mine to take my language and then I had to go to my other apartment which was another mile from that one. They didn't even offer a taxi to say sorry for the mix up as they also do shuttle work.
Another problem for me was the cleaners of the room. IT WAS VERY DIRTY as you can see on the photos I have uploaded. There was mold everywhere and the toilets were dirty I had to buy bleach and we had to clean the toilet ourself. The curtain was with mold and so was the cupboard as you can see in the photos.
HONESTLY STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Look at the photos and judge for yourself
I had more photos and videos but booking didn't allow me to upload.
- James (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable The checkin process could be better as you need to walk to the reception which is about a 15 minute walk away from the apartment. They also charge a £200 deposit at the reception which then takes 14 days to be returned
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Iliana (10/5): Exceptional - The room was excellent, very clean and it came with air conditioning. They would clean it daily and leave new soaps. The bathroom had an electric heater for the towels and a pretty decent hairdryer. The spot was great, near centro historico. An affordable room with high quality amenities.
- Gantiadi (1/5): Bad - This is a mafia. Make no mistake, do not book. I booked a hotel and after confirmation, they asked me to register online. During registration, they asked me to deposit 200 euros with a credit card. They stole my card in the metro in Rome. I only had cash. I asked to cancel the reservation. In this case, they would charge me money. I said I would go to the hotel and register there. But they did not let us in the hotel. Only the cleaner was there. They sent us to the central office, quite far from the hotel. To the Klapa Group House. Where they did not even hear us. Either register online or leave now. There is no waiting room here. We were tired and exhausted and went to another hotel. Booking.com did not help us either. They made us pay the money and did not let us in the hotel. It is legalized robbery.
- Daniela (1/5): Scam - nothing They make you give a 200€ deposit and keep it!!!
Thankfully we re-booked but weren‘t able to cancel cause it was last minute so we lost our money!! DONT BOOK HERE ITS A SCAM!
- Violeta (1/5): AVOID!!! - Please read before you book!!!
I can’t say anything good as the whole experience of my stay was not pleasant. From the check in to the return of my deposit all it was a nightmare. Not to mention that the reception is at the other part of the city…
I booked the hotel in a rush and I didn’t noticed that they require 200 EUR deposit as otherwise you won’t be able to check in.
I was traveling on a budget and I booked the room for 80 EUR (2 nights) but if I wanted to check in I had to pay 200 EUR which will be returned 14 working days if you pay by credit card or 30 working days if you pay by debit card.
As I didn’t have a big chose and I didn’t want to lose the money already paid I checked in and paid the 200 EUR with my credit card.
Here comes the problem again after 14 days of my check out I didn’t receive my money back and I started messaging the property but they kept replying to me with the same template message that the money will be returned automatically 14 working days after the check out if you paid by credit card or 30 days if you paid by debit card. I continue messaging them asking them for the details of their Accounts department or somebody from the Management but they kept replying with the same template message until a week later they just decided not to reply to my massages at all.
I then contacted Booking.com directly and when they contacted the property they received the same template reply for the 14 and 30 days refund. I continue the conversation with Booking.com and when they contacted the property again I received an email that the company declined my claim and attached the same template…
So after 29 working days I finally received my deposit on the Saturday on the 30th day after I checked out..
Absolutely disgraceful!!! For 2 days stay to wait months to get your own money back…
Please check the Google reviews as well, some people were waiting to get their money back for months!!!
- Kate (2/5): SLOW DEPOSIT RETURN. Do not recommend - Would have given it a higher score except they took TWO MONTHS to give me my 200€ deposit back and I had to message them twice. I ended up getting a late fee from my bank because they were so slow in returning my money to me and Clapa Group did not cover this. Very disappointed. Would not stay here because of this. - Freja (6/5): Pleasant - The Location is good You have to Pay 200 euros in depositum. Its insane
And yiu have to do an online check in
The reception is far away from the hotel
- Bartlomiej (3/5): Very confusing - have not seen anything like it before - Fairly good location near the train station, bus station and plenty of restaurants to chose from. Close to the airport as well. The location of the actual room was within converted flat in residential area accessed through two separate gates. Way to complicated to what it is! First of all the reception is on the other side of the city. You will have to spend 20min filling up endless forms on tablet as they can't be bother doing, blaming you for not done it them online (booking.com have all my details). Even taking the pictures of your passport. Now you will receive a pin to your door with a link to online instruction on how to get into residential area where one of the flat is converted into rooms! We went through 2 gates and were struggle to open one so we went back to reception to be told to keep pressing the button until it opens. It worked but felt like no one cares. The rooms have paper walls as we could hear everything from other rooms and their bathrooms. I'm not kidding. They must have forgot to put insulation inside the walls when they were converting a flat into rooms. The electronic locks in doors are what they are. You have to type pin every time you leave your room or you getting into your room. Without it the door will just swing open. Deposit was an another surprise and it was not given to me back automatically as i was told but I had to asked for it 31 days later! Obviously they wouldn't speak to me via Booking web or even via their own email on their website. Instead they kept telling me to contact them via WhatsApp. Finally I asked my wife to text them as I don't have WhatsApp. I should have checked reviews before I booked this place but as always we spent most of the time exploring area so not too bothered... I could list small things as well like fittings or builders finishing touches but it would got too silly...
- Renato (1/5): Very disappointing - delusi - Unexpected non justifiable bond of €215 - good shower Difficult to access
Fridge not working
Payment for the lift
Very noisy
Unexpected €215 bond which we were informed it would take 30days to ge refunded! Not good enough.
- Diego (8/5): Disappointed - Location Deposit of 200€
- Петрова (6/5): Pleasant - The location was perfect close to centrum and other places !
- Umidjon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shadyshae (5/5): was ok - I didnt have breakfast The reception being a walk away from the property, having to pay a mandatory 200 euros holding deposit or or no checkin. The entry process to the lodge was a nightmare! Pressing the buzzer for like 5 minutes to be let in the main entrance and the process repeats for the 2nd entry as well.
The room itself was amazing
- Constanza (9/5): Superb - Room very confortable, clean, and nice balcony. That check-in and check-out were done somewhere else and they charged for keeping your bags (4 Euro per bag).
- Dionysios (8/5): Very good - I loved the cleanliness, and the balcony, and the ease of access. Everything was excellent but I would appreciate a small separate lamp so that one could read at night.
- Rahman (7/5): Good - Room arrangements, beds and wardrobe. Bathroom and toiletries.
- Mae (4/5): DON’T STAY HERE! - Absolutely none. It was the worst experience I had in my long years of traveling. The service, so bad. The room smells dusty and old linens. The shower is broke. The building was far from the checkin point, i lost my energy trying to find where it was with my luggage. They took my cc details, like just took my card like im helpless. Coz she said in case i break something? No one had ever asked for my cc details and have the entered on their computer on their own. (Like scammers of sort) i had never written this much for a stay in booking all because this was rhe worst! The guy who drove me to the building just dropped me off outside saying go inside and to right, so I did. Damn. I kept going up and down the elevator and stairs I couldn’t find it. I tried to open door with so many keys until I almost cried coz im so exhausted, they wouldn’t reply faster on my msg. I got stuck there for 45 minutes before i got a call from them only to find out I was in the opposite entrance should be in B I entered C because that staff told me go right. I was freaking out I couldn’t get out. Took me an hour like to get out. Not the worst part yet, so i found my way to my room. Ok, it was huge, but linens were crumpled and not clean. But I said it’s fine im out of energy. I went out immediately coz it was already 6pm by the time i got in. I came back at past 9pm. The worst part, there was no remote for the Airconditioner. I searched everywhere in the room before i contacted them but all i hear is that they are out only up until 9 pm. Ugh. And I messaged in whatsapp, afte awhile there was a reply, said it’s in the room and i sent photos of all cabinets and under the bed there was none. Asked for my room and stopped. I called and messaged but to no avail. I was suffocating, it’s august, it was too hot outside what more inside the room. And I can’t open the windows because it’s the street outside. I couldn’t breathe,i didn’t dry my hair but it was still suffocating. I was starting to panic again. Im so embarrassed but i had to take my last choice was to knock someone’s room and borrow their remote, IT WAS THE MOST EMBARRASSING NIGHT OF MY WONDERFUL ITALIAN TRIP! I had to and i feel so bad for myself that night. I can’t believe I disturbed someone’s night because of their lack of service and negligence of room preparation which I paid to stay. I don’t but that you get what you paid for. Because, atleast if you don’t have a good place give a good service. Dont be blinded by the location. There are many better one.
- Rohit (2/5): Very poor - Nothing Imagine , having to walk 1 1/2 km from reception in hot napoli streets with your bags as hotel is away from reception and check in. And there was no electricity in the hotel during the night and checkout is at 10 AM - one of the worst experiences everyone
- Jiunnweng (7/5): It was ok I guess - The room was clean and as described in the pictures. The bed was not comfortable and the air conditioner kept dripping water all over the floor even after they sent two people to come fix it..
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Enrique (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabrizio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruno (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bus_one (2/5): Facebook too much hassle .. don't recommend at all - Location is in center No reception.. you have to their Office 1.4km far to check-in and then go back to the room..
Was dirty and has dog hear on the bed.
Although they changed after 4 hours of complaint, still it was not pleasant experience at all.
- Robert (1/5): They need to get their act together. - There was no breakfast. The location was fine. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable We were sent down the wrong street to the hotel. When we walked back to the office, they took us to the right address on a different street. We were told to go in the first door to the left. We did, it was not the right door and we couldn't get out until someone who worked there opened the door for us. A worker then showed us the correct door. We got in but the automatic door on the hotel would not open. A guest inside opened it for us. Our room had no number on the door. The shower drain did not work properly and the shower hose leaked so badly you couldn't take a shower. Also I have not received my $214.20 damage deposit back. Worst experience on our whole trip.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (5/5): Would not choose this place again and don’t recommend it. - It was easily walkable from the train station. The beds were horrible- very hard and you could feel the mattress springs.
We arrived after the normal checkin time (that ends at 2100), due to major train delays that put us almost 5 hours behind schedule. We contacted the office early and let them know we’d be late. We had to pay 80 euros for late checkin. I would have understood this if staff was required to stay late and meet us, but it was all arranged online before their office closing time and we simply picked up keys by being given a lockbox code! They knew we had little other option and took advantage of that. It made us really angry.
- Marco (7/5): Good -
- Fe (8/5): Very good -
- Shelley (6/5): We got it for 1/2 price so good value for the price - you get what you pay for. - It was a 10 minute walk to the train station, the area seemed very safe and the room was very clean and modern. To register we had to walk an additional 20 minutes (dragging suitcases on cobblestones and stopping and checking if we were on course) more like 40 minutes. I wish we had known ahead of time. It was probably in the app that they wanted us to download (I really didn’t want yet another app on my phone!) but a follow up email indicating such would have been appreciated. Also their customer service wasn’t the best, we had issues with our safe and they actually disconnected my 2 calls and texted me they were very busy right now. This was in the evening and they close at 9 pm and we were panicking - needed medication out of there. Not the best way to handle a panicked customer. All ended well but it was a stressful time.
Also walls are very thin so you can hear everything in the surrounding rooms - talking, snoring, partying.
- Alkistis (1/5): disappointing - nothing The reception was about 2.5km from where we were actually staying. The room was not like in the pictures and the bathroom had a very bad smell. I would not suggest to anyone to stay here, luckily we only had to stay for one night.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- ahmed (2/5): Avoid this hotel vey bad - Reception of the hotel is far 2km from the room location.
4 euros for each laggages you want to keep at the réception before cheking, and after chekout.
Very bad quality of mattress (end of live).
Very bad isolation between rooms.
The hotel is just a big appartement divided into multiple rooms.
To enter the rooms you need 4 keys. You have 4 doors to open. Building, bloc, appartement, room.
