- Johannes (10/5): -
- Maria (9/5): -
- Bobbie (7/5): - Liked the comfortable bed and facilities available It would have been good to have access to the courtyard
- Fiona (9/5): Bright, clean apartment in San Polo - Excellent communication prior to and during check in. Clean and spacious apartment.
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect location - Great location & had all we need. The bed was very comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay.
- REGINA (10/5): Magiczne miejsce! - Piękny wenecki apartamet, w którym czuje się historie poprzednich właścicieli. Mieliśmy wrażenie, jakbyśmy przyjechali do włoskiej rodziny. Świetna lokalizacja a jednocześnie cisza.

- Karen (8/5): - For what we were doing it was well located. We had eight people there and it worked well with 2 bathrooms and 3showers. The dining table was small for our group but mostly we sat around it to visit not to eat. Susanna was very responsive when we had questions.
- Corby (9/5): Vacation like a Venetian. - Location was wonderful! Nice and quite right by a canal. Very Venice. The only thing that could have been better would be a little more room in the shower. But that’s being picky. It’s a studio apartment and you can’t beat the price.
- carmen (7/5): - Si ubicación
- Nishino (10/5): -
- Evripides (8/5): Nice cosy studio. Perfect communication with the owner. Allowed early check in. -

- Kristine L (10/5): The best accommodations for short-term visitors in Venezia (big group) - I absolutely loved staying at San Polo 1948! I miss sitting by the window and watching the life of Venice bloom in the canal below. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great for our group of 10 adults. The property managed provided everything, including umbrellas. It was walking distance to many destination places in Venice. I would definitely come back to this same Booking again. One of the bathrooms had a shower that didn't have a door, which was interesting. I only showered there one time.
- Márton (10/5): -
- Pol (9/5): Apartament còmode i fresc - Apartament molt ben situat, amb aire acondicionat, ben equipat i còmode. Una mica petit.
- jose luis (7/5): -
- Ciaran (5/5): Fine. - Location was great, host was great, facilities where great The bed was a little old, the room was dark and the filters in the air-con needed changing
- petrucci (10/5): -
- Diane (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (8/5): Very good - Location was great, excellent host! Towels were so old, could be nice to replace for new ones . The bed is not comfy 😞😞 but it was so nice to find coffee, water, and some bread with jam for our stay. 🙂
- Verity (7/5): Average place, overpriced compared to other places we’ve stayed in Italy - Lovely to be left coffee and snacks and a bottle of beer It was very hot and the aircon very old and loud , the doors on the patio did not open, my husband hit his head on the very low door way often into the studio . Incredibly smelly part of Venice
- Joanne (9/5): Would definitely recommend and stay again! - Beautiful home in a great location! Spacious and quintessentially Venetian!
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trent (10/5): Beautiful home overlooking a quiet canal! - The location was perfect! Super close to the Rialto bridge but in a quiet part of town. Clean and as described. Great for our family of 7! Great and responsive communication!
We did a gondola ride with Mario on the canal in front of the home. The large rooms and tall ceilings made it feel spacious. Would have been nice to have kitchen towels. Otherwise everything was great!
- Patricia (8/5): Loved Venice, had a wonderful time. - The view and location. One bathroom was small without enough counter space.
Getting a dryer was helpful.
More instructions on how to use the washing machine.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Szu-an (10/5): Great place to stay! Would definitely come back next time I’m in Venice. - The rooms were spacious, and the beds were large enough to accommodate all of us. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. There was a TV and a speaker, both easy to use. The living room was big enough to comfortably fit seven people, and there was a dining table as well. We all loved this place. Nothing to complain about, really — but if I had to mention something, the only (very) minor issue was with the shower. It worked well overall, but at one point the water turned cold, probably because too many of us were taking showers back-to-back. It won't be a problem if you have fewer guests.
- Marco (9/5): Wonderful, central location. Apartment is nice and private. We enjoyed an early check-in. Host can be reached quickly an - Wonderful, central location. Apartment is nice and private. We enjoyed an early check-in. Host can be reached quickly and responds very adequately. A tad bit on the small side. Coffee machine was a bit ‘buggy’.
- Natalie (8/5): Perfect for our family of 7 - We were a family of 7, 4 adults and 3 children and Susanna’s apartment was perfect for our first visit to Venice. The location couldn’t have been better, tucked a street away from the hustle and bustle, walking distance to all the main attractions but neatly positioned if you want to go a bit more local and explore different areas. The space is huge, beds comfortable and a lovely traditional Italian kitchen which was well stocked. Susanna couldn’t have been more helpful with her pre-visit communication, we arrived in the dark in the pouring rain but it was very easy to find.
Lots of fabulous restaurants nearby, co-op and coffee shops just around the corner and cute squares to grab an Aperol in the sun.
We loved Venice, so did the kids so we’ll be back for sure.
- Angela (8/5): Very good - It was nice and quiet despite being in a central location. The owner left some nice welcome snacks and drinks, which was a nice touch. The water boiler is tiny, so the hot water for showering lasts less than five minutes and takes over an hour to heat up again. This means we had to take extremely short showers and wait over an hour between us to shower/wash up. Keep this in mind when booking this stay.
- Laura (9/5): A great accommodation for first time in Venice - The Location is Great. In the City Center but also in a quiet area. Some closet would need some reparations. The furniture is beautiful but the closet in one room was hard to open
- Sarah (9/5): Enjoyable stay. Would stay here again. - The location was very nice. Easy to get to everything but also quiet The entry door is very short so you need to be careful entering and exiting the room. I’m 5’5 and still managed to bump my head so keep this in mind when booking if you are taller. Once in the room the ceilings are normal height though.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Kristine (8/5): Very good -
- Svetlana (8/5): Nice location, very helpful host - Location is good, and the host Suzanna was very easy to approach via WhatsApp, very prompt to reply and exceptionally helpful, she have given us some great advice on places to eat and directions. Self-check-in was very easy. Instructions were simple and clear. The room was on a smaller scale, but reasonable conditions. There was pretty much everything you need for a short stay with a few exceptions. Overall we can recommend this accommodation if you willing to compromise your expectations a little bit. There were a few things that would be easy to fix, like we requested a couple more pillows well in advance, but were told it’s not possible. Their pillows are very comfortable (really hard, low profile and heavy). There were some smaller inconveniences that didn’t not bother us much, like cups were two sizes: tiny and soup cups- nothing in between. Also another inconveniences were a tiny shower and window frame locks are not too secure. There was no option for our earlier check in or leaving the luggage before that. Other than these, we were fine with everything.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good - Location
Big space
Great host Interior could be updated
- Mike (9/5): We had a great stay with excellent communication from the owner. - Great location Nothing
- Marijana (10/5): Great holiday. Very beauty city. Will come back sure. - Great locations, nice view, clean.
- Guri (8/5): Very good -
- Alex (8/5): Very good -
- Stewart (8/5): Very good -
- Tarah (8/5): Lovely apartment in a great location...just needs a little better A/C. - Location. Window seats. Kitchen and lovely treats there for our arrival. One of the bathrooms was great. The A/C just wasn't strong enough for the heat. Nearly died it was so hot. Beds were only so/so comfortable but that was also because we were so hot. A woman came into the apartment unannounced and scared my kids. She was staff fixing the WiFi but we had no idea what she was doing there and she didn't explain.
- Esther (8/5): Wonderful location - comfortable apartment - Fantastic location. The host was very accommodating and let us in early as we arrived on the overnight train. She was very responsive to questions. Lots of space. Canal view. It is an old property which adds to its charm but don’t expect modern facilities. Air con in bedrooms was a wonderful relief from the heat but is noisy. Kitchen well equipped. Nothing! Great authentic Venice property.
- Rebecca (7/5): Good - Location Wasn't very clean
- Chrystelle (6/5): For a well-placed, practical and inexpensive accommodation in Venice, it is passable. - Good location, easy to get to. Breakfast consisting of rusks, milk, apple juice, jam and butter. Everything needed for cooking. Quite personal decoration, interesting books. Many unpleasant odors (bathroom and stale), poor lighting, dark room with 2 small windows. No tables. Not a lot of place. No wifi. High humidity, super noisy air conditioner, you can't use it at night except it's hot in summer (39°). Mosquitoes!
- Thomas (10/5): Venice was just great and made easier by having this great place to stay. - Great location, 5 min walk to San Silvestro vaperatto (water bus) and Coop supermarket was 2 min away. Property was large and roomy. Nice window seats overlooking one of the small canals. Self check-in was easy and instructions were simple. Directions provided to the property were easy to follow. It was all good.
- Anonymous (7/5): Close, Safe and Convienent - Super close to everything.
Host was vey helpful and easy check in process.
Good air con.
Bed was comfortable and large. Hot water ran out quickly. Bathroom had a strong moldy smell.
- Bethany (8/5): Very good - Central location, easy check in/ check out procedure. Limited hot water.
- Theo (2/5): San Polo 1948 Studio Apartment Stay - The location was central and convenient. The flat smells very damp, so much so we were worried our clothes would smell of damp after we left, we kept our clothes zipped up in our suitcases for the stay.
It's very small, there's not much room to move around once two people and two suitcases are in the room, there's not enough wardrobe space to unpack out of the suitcases if we had wanted to.
It feels cramped and enclosed, fixtures and fittings were of a low quality. The iron leaked water out onto my shirt and stained it with something (possibly rust).
If you want a hot shower you need to set the boiler heat manually the night before or at least a few hours before you intend to have a shower. This was not clear before arrival, also when you have managed to get hot water, it's not possible to control the temperature properly, so the water can be extremely hot. That said, the hot water quickly runs out and becomes lukewarm. The instructions on the wall say to not take showers one after another, how else are you supposed to get ready in the morning or before heading out for the evening?
We stayed for three days, by the third day the towels we had been provided with smelled so badly of damp they were unusable and we had to air dry after showers before putting clothes on. We tried to make sure they dried properly after each use but that didn't stop them from smelling really bad.
The bed sheets had stains which looked like they could be mould or something. There are loads of laminated sheets with various instructions and rules on them plastered all over the walls, they're written in a forceful and cold manner, not very welcoming at all.
All in all, I don't really think the flat is fit for accommodating paying guests, especially not at the rate we paid. (371€ for 3 nights).
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful apartment with perfect location and view.
large rooms perfect for family
- Elizabeth (8/5): excellent location, great host! - excellent location, very nice set up, great kitchen, beds were comfortable. we were met at promises and guided to the apartment. everything we needed was a short walk away. Our hostess was very accommodating and kept Im touch.
- Yvonne (10/5): Huge apartment, well appointed, great views across the canal and of the small canal. - Size of the apartment and lots of nice welcoming details such as cookies, biscuits, full carton of milk. Small bathroom shower leaked quite a bit , shower could have been cleaned a bit better but non of this would prevent me from recommending it.
- Mackenzie (9/5): Highly Recommend- Great Location - Great location- middle of Venice so easy walk to anywhere you want to go. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Room had everything we needed, was comfy, quiet and came with plenty of city recommendations. Shower is a little small, but that’s being quite picky.
- Dominique (9/5): Wonderful location with fantastic host. - The location was fantastic to get to more or less anywhere in Venice. Lovely and convenient with some extras left for guests. Some mould around the window but, overall lovey and clean.
- Radosław (8/5): everything fine - great support from the host, super location, all necessary kitchen equipment, advises when it comes to sightseeing etc.
- Shelley (9/5): Superb -
- Magda (9/5): it was a great trip, loved every bit of it - fantastic location; everything you need is in the flat; great touches fron the host - Coffee, biscuits etc very loud, the walls are thin, you can here everything from outside
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning location in one of the oldest parts of Venice. Quiet and out of the way of tourists (an amazing feat in itself in Venice) but only minutes away from the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal, 15 minutes walk from the station, 15 minutes walk to St Marks, and 1 minute (if that) from a grocery store.
The bedrooms and living areas had very high ceilings, the rooms were huge, as were the beds and the windows that opened out onto the local canal. Honestly I'm struggling to think of anything.
- Julia-jelena (9/5): Excellent location! - Excellent location, easy check in and check out process.
Apartment with all kitchen facilities.
- Chris (10/5): A wonderful gem of an apartment to stay in, to explore and enjoy the wonders of Venice. - A truly wonderful apartment that enhanced our visit to Venice.
The apartment was just perfect for two couples. The amount of space available was incredible. We were able to relax with such ease in this well furnished, full of light, beautifully decorated apartment. It was a privilege to enjoy the comfort of surroundings of a typical old world style Venetian home while having all necessary facilities on hand. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, with all four of us enjoying the best nights sleep!
A view of the canal from the living room was a lovely bonus. So quiet and calm here. The perfect place to relax and discuss the magic of Venice at the end of the day.
Our host, Susanna, was so kind and helpful. Always on hand if we needed. Excellent service from her. Everything runs so smoothly in this apartment.
Check in was easy and no one can get lost in Venice with Google maps. Although I recommend to get lost and discover even more magic.
This apartment is the perfect place to stay, so close to all the major iconic attractions but also 2 minutes away from the beautiful quiet Campo San Polo, where you can sit and enjoy excellent food and drink at wonderful prices while watching the world go by. Everything was perfect.
- Charlotte (9/5): We had a wonderful time thank you - Brilliant location and roomy apartment. It was clean & comfortable, our hosts had thoughtfully provided milk butter tea coffee and biscuits. Transactions were smooth and friendly. The apartment had everything but was a bit unloved. Susannah was efficient helpful and polite so can not fault the service but perhaps get a new kettle and and check that the lightbulbs are working etc.
- Regina (9/5): beautiful place for a noisy large family, cozy and comfy ♥️ - everything!! all good
- Antonella (9/5): Perfect location and amazing view on canal - Very good location at only 15-20 minutes from train station or central bus station. Amazing view on the canal from lounge and from one of the bedrooms. Very spacious bedrooms and lounge. Well equipped kitchen. 2 bathrooms with 3 showers. There were not enough chairs for all of us to sit at the table.
- Ying-chen (3/5): Not recommanded at all. - They provide oil, salt etc. for us to cook. 1. The environment was not clean. There are dust at the corner and some shelves. The river near by is quite stinky.
2. The electricity was not stable. The power went off once when we're using the electric stove.
3. The water heater was weak. There's only cold water left at the end of the shower.
4. They have a book of rules. Make sure not to break any of them or else they might charge you a lot of extra fine.
5. The basin was broken.
- Małgosia (10/5): Exceptional - It was a pleasure to stay at such a beautiful and cozy apartment. The location of “San Polo 1948” is excellent, with lots of beautiful Venetian bridges nearby and a quick walk to Rialto Bridge, T Fondaco rooftop terrace, and Vaporetto no 12 stop to get to Burano. Venice is such an amazing and magical city! We admired every piece of it, museum and food. The apartment is very close to the post office, bacaro with aperitivo and Farini (with pizza slices). It has an oven which is the best for takeaway pizza reheating and everything to make an Italian breakfast. We spent three nights when Aqua Alta began, so it was great to have good heating in the apartment for drying clothes and a private bathroom to take a hot shower. The location is beautiful, too, along the canal. Susanna gave us very detailed tips on how to self-check in and get to the apartment, prepared for us some water, pasta in the cupboard and coffee, and tea. The bed is very comfortable and we were able to have a good rest after walking 13 km on foot every day. Totally recommend that place, it’s great 🙂
- Dario (9/5): A bargain. Perfect for a couple on a budget. - Cute apartment. Very close to Rialto. Great value for money. Breakfast included. Slight smell of damp walls, but considering that this is Venice, it’s OK
- Essameldine (7/5): Good - The studio was very clean even though the studio is small but well equipped I did not like the entrance the door of the studio is very low you must bend down to get in and out be aware of the stairs when getting out
The direction is clear however if you have bags you will cross a lots of pedestrians bridges
- Tjaša (5/5): Passable - Location was ok, 20 mins from San Marc square, they left us croissants and cookies for breakfast, when we entered it smelled clean, kitchen looks good, I think it's new The apartment is in the basement, the apartment has a strange entrance, the apartment looks a little bit different on Booking photos then in reality, no one warned us that it is necessary to turn on the hot water boiler so we were without hot water, the shower floor was cracked, don't know hot to explain it, but there was an uncomfortable feeling in the apartment, a cramped feeling.. wouldn't go there again
- Timothy (7/5): Basic, but functional home base for a visit to Venice. - Great location on a quiet side street close to everything. The unit needs some love and maintenance. It was a bit run down and the shower didnt drain peoperly. The AC, while very effective, was jet-engine loud.
- Sofie (9/5): a gem in the center of Venice! can’t believe we found this place. - the location is dazzling! in the middle of the beautiful canals and center yet very quiet. the living room is enormous and the windows are just amazing to sit in with a morning coffee and watch the gondolas go by. the bathrooms are spacious, but not very well done. Water doesn’t really heat up.
- Nathaniel (10/5): Working trip - Really comfortable, super spacious and charming, good location.
- Nilpa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oscar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Andria (6/5): Pleasant - Location and the size of the apartement was good. Having 3 showers was also excellent! Apartement was dirty and not cleaned, found an old razor next to our bed :( beds were really uncomfortable..
