• David (9/5): Good base for an extended stay on Lantau Island - Very quiet, peaceful location, no traffic noise as it's nowhere near a road. Simply furnished room but I had all the necessary facilities. The AC worked very effectively. It's a good place for an extended stay on the island.its close to walking trails and also public transport.

The guest house by rain and heavy suitcase is a problem though, because taxi cannot go to front door and for elderly people it is about 15 minutes walk, but we were lucky that the rain stopped. It is very quiet there, only at night frogs do croak a bit. For young people excellent location. is there is a problem, tell Terry and he will fix it,

• doc (7/5): - The guest house with the flat with a bed room, pantry and two bunker beds are really nice for a family.. You should book this property only if you like country side and enjoy the Nature and spending time for relaxation or visiting ngong cable car trip and explore this side of Hongkong. But unfortunately I booked for a night stay as a transit hotel for which my decision was a blunder. The best part is it's close to hongkong airport.. but do not choose if you are looking for a transit hotel in night time. Though it's closer to Hongkong airport, do not choose if you are looking for a transit hotel in night time. If you have one whole day time to relax, and with less baggage, you can still choose.. Sadly we were a family of 4 with 2 kids and four baggage, to check at the night was a tedious task, as the taxi or car stop point is 800 meters away, and the path to this hotel guest house is a small path like a trekking lane.. early morning also our check out was 5 am. So never choose for airport transit stay in the evening or night.. Otherwise the property is beautiful.

• Olya_y (10/5): Отличное жилье для осмотра Лантау - Отличное место, если важен комфорт и вы планируете осмотр острова и поездку в Макао. Здесь тихо (хотя казалось бы, рядом аэропорот) и зелено. Жилье достаточно просторное, а на первом этаже есть общая кухня, где можно приготовить или разогреть еду, есть холодильник, микроволновка. Много посуды, в доступе чай/кофе. Также у дома свой двор, можно посидеть за столиком внизу, плюс есть терраса на крыше. Единственный момент, если кому-то критично: чемоданы придется поднимать наверх в ваш номер по довольно крутой лестнице. Замечательный хозяин, Терри, всегда на связи, сориентирует по достопримечательностям и маршрутам — куда лучше поехать и как добраться. Также он разрешил оставить багаж на пару часов, после выезда, что было супер. Расположение удобное, если ваша основная цель — не шумная и тесная центральная часть города. До метро минут 10 на автобусе, там же находится нижняя станция канатной дороги к Будде и там же большой торговый центр. От жилья минут за 20-30 легко добраться на автобусе до порта HZMB, если едете в Макао. В аэропорт нужно смотреть расписание автобусов, в разное время дня вы доедете либо одним маршрутом, либо с пересадкой — Терри вам поможет разобраться. От автобусной остановки до самого жилья идти минут 10. Остановка находится у жилого комплекса, где на первых этажах есть пара небольших супермаркетов, пекарни и заведения с разной едой. Дорога к жилью идет частично через стройку, но там все огорожено и нормально организовано, идти по грязи или камням вам не придется. Последний отрезок пути практически как в парке, по асфальтированной дорожке. Терри вышлет вам видео, как выглядит весь путь от остановки, с ним заблудиться невозможно. Мы остались очень довольны проживанием, однозначно рекомендуем, если у вас похожие приоритеты при посещении Гонконга. (Терри предупреждал о москитах/комарах, но их как-то не было, нас не кусали, репеллент не понадобился) Такого нет, все было хорошо.
• Richard (8/5): Wonderful and peaceful oasis near HKG! - We stayed 8 consecutive nights in 3 different rooms. We loved the quiet peaceful location looking out over the trees towards Tung Chung, the cable car to the Big Buddha, and HKG airport in the far distance. We also loved the common kitchen (where we ate most breakfasts and dinners), the roof-top deck, the balcony of our rooms, and listening to the birds and watching the butterflies. Taxi (get Blue Taxi only) from HKG to the drop-off point is about $100 HKD (just over $13 USD). There is no car access to the property--it is a 10 minute slightly uphill walk on a concrete path from the roadway to the property (look for City Oasis signs on the pathway). We usually walked to the nearest little community (Mun Tung Estate) for basic items, and to the larger Yat Tung Estate for the local mall and wet market. It was very enjoyable to live life similar to the local people. Easy bus access to the airport from Yat Tung, and to Tung Chung to take the MTR. The rooms at City Oasis are very clean, but are not large. The owner and host, Terry, is very nice and able to offer advice about local sights and hiking, etc. We look forward to staying here again! No place is perfect, but we have no complaints worth mentioning. :)

• Lachlan (10/5): A special spot near spectacular hiking trails - We loved having breakfast on the balcony, falling asleep to the sounds of frogs and waking up to birds singing. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Terry was an excellent host, sharing tips about things to do in the area and transport, among other things. Stay here if you're ok with walking a bit and want to see a different side of Hong Kong (village houses, gardens, bicycles, country parks). We loved it!

• Carine (1/5): I don’t recommend this place, far from the center and very noisy. - There was a family with two kids living with the doors open next to my room. The kids were yelling, the mother was yelling at the kids, the father was walking around naked in a towel. I could even hear and smell them go to the bathroom, and when I asked one of the hosts to do something about it he told them I was sensitive. The doors also needed to be slammed to shut, so you could wake up anytime whenever another guest decided to leave or come early. I have been backpacking for 3weeks now and the 2nights at this place made all the other places I stayed at feel like palaces! If you are looking at a quiet place to rest like I was, this is not the place to choose.

Well set up kitchen, lovely garden and rooftop terrace. Very difficult to get anywhere from the property with a significant walks getting to it was a 7-10 minute walk from the taxi drop off, but getting a taxi or other transport involved a significantly longer walk. Internet was patchy

Lots of building works and lethal cyclists but a 7-10 minute walk to hotel (depends on luggage), and really feels like an Oasis in city. Terry very helpful about buses, attractions etc. and let us check in a little early. Facilities clean and each room has a balcony with an amazing view. Short walk to housing complex with shops, restaurants, ATMs. Provides real insight into HK lifestyle. Great dumpling restaurant - super cheap compared with rest of our HK experience. Beds are hard like all HK/China beds. The shower turned cold after first few minutes, so if you don't get in first you won't get much heat. It's like a nice backpackers but at hotel prices as all HK is very expensive.

• Jason (10/5): Friendly, charming and comfortable with lush surroundings. - Five minutes easy walk from the bus stop and shops, restaurants and hiking trails, it’s an idyllic little hideaway with a beautiful garden, fish ponds and a rooftop lounge with treetop views. My room had a balcony and huge windows looking out over banana trees with a high rise skyline in the distance. The proprietor is super helpful, attentive and hospitable. With all the big windows the room gets a bit chilly in December.

• Delphine18 (8/5): Beautiful surroundings but a royal pain to get to - The room was EXACTLY as pictured on the website. Nice hard comfy bed (if you don't like typical Asian hard mattresses, you won't like it). Nice bathtub, excellent views from the bed and a nice balcony with a view of the mountains and garden below. Terry is an ANGEL!!! I have trouble walking and he came and guided me to the location, as I arrived after dark. He took extra good care of me going WAY beyond the call of duty. He's a star and made my stay amazing. The description says "a quick 7 minute walk" Yeah if you do it during the day and it's not raining and you are VERY fit. The reality is that it's about 800 meters or about three quarters of a mile from the taxi drop point. The path is only about a meter wide and the only place there are guard rails are over the THREE bridges you have to cross. Some places if you step off the path to avoid speeding cyclists who don't use bells or lights, there is a "shoulder" BUT there are many places where there is just a drop if you step off the path. So you could fall 3 meters or more!!! And if it's dark or rainy, the path is VERY slippery, uneven and in some places not really paved. As someone with mobility issues, it was a NIGHTMARE!!! And the bus service is very irregular so access to public transport is, again, a real HIKE -- Same with any kind of food, it's all located near the taxi drop point

• Michelle (9/5): Convenient for airport and Big Buddha visit - Convenient to get from airport - use bus S64X and jump off at Mun Tung Estate. Walk through a small shopping centre. From there it’s a 10 minute walk. Terry the host sends a video which explains it well. Lots of local restaurants in the shopping centre or a nice Indian restaurant behind the shopping centre. Bus 23 bus ride to Big Buddha is a scenic 30 min ride. Bus stop is at the end of the block of the YMCA college (cross over the road once you get to the end of the road) - about 8 mins from City Oasis. Accommodation is basic but clean and Terry is a welcoming host who is very responsive with info prior to arrival and on arrival. Luggage can be stored after checkout. The hot water got cold pretty quickly but it may have been because I didn’t know how to use the system - you have to switch it on prior to use.

Nous n'avons pas pu accéder à la Guest-house car il était impossible d'y parvenir à proximité en voiture puis à pied. Des gros travaux étant en cours, le taxi ne pouvait absolument pas utiliser le chemin qui était interdit aux véhicules. Et cet établissement se situe en hauteur loin de tout. Nous avons notre âge qui nous empêche de circuler avec de lourds bagages. Aussi nous avons dû renoncer à cette réservation et prendre une chambre dans le seul hôtel disponible et il se trouve qu'il est onéreux : 159 euros. • Heidrun (9/5): Oase in Hongkong - Das Haus liegt sehr schön ruhig in einem Grüngürtel auf Lantau mit guter Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel und gleichzeitig als Startpunkt für Wanderungen nutzbar, z.B zum Big Buddha. Die 7 Minuten Laufen von der Straße haben mich nicht gestört. Allerdings muss man die Entfernung zur City immer mit einplanen. Der Gastgeber Terry ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, informiert ausführlich in Englisch über alle möglichen Unternehmungen/Sehenswürdigkeiten und Wege dahin. Alles ist sehr sauber, schöne Aussicht, Balkon, Dachterrasse und Küchenbenutzung. Lohnt sich vor allem, wenn man etwas länger als 3 Tage bleiben will. Die ruhige Lage im Grünen hat die Konsequenz, dass man immer etwas laufen muss zum Einkaufen z. B für das Frühstück oder zu Bushaltestellen oder Taxi. Dessen muss man sich bewusst sein.

The owner is helpful he will explain the area and what buses or taxi ypu will take depending on the location. Just the bed frame. Need to be fix cause every time i move it’s has asound
• Sheveluanchik (9/5): - The hostel is a small jungle trek, but the owner provides very detailed instructions. The hotel has a shared kitchen with everything you need. There's also a common rooftop area with a beautiful view. The room is fully equipped. The owner also provides detailed information about nearby attractions and how to get to them.
• De Carvalho Ribeiro (10/5): - Très charmant avec de nombreux coins calmes et reposants (magnifique jardin très végétalisé, rooftop avec une superbe vue et un petit balcon équipé d'une table et de chaises). La chambre est propre et confortable. Coin assez reculé mais qui reste assez proche à pieds de toutes commodités. Notre hôte est très accueillant et disponible pour toute information.

• Helen (10/5): Great access to beautiful walking trails on Lantau Island, including hiking to the incredible Tian Tan Buddha (allow 4 h - Literally a quiet oasis, but v close to the airport and walking distance to local restaurants. Terry, the proprietor is extremely warm, friendly, attentive and helpful. The guest house has its own unique charm. Surrounded by nature. It’s a real experience if you like something a little different. It is necessary to walk for 7-10 minutes on a well signposted path from the taxi drop off, but well worth it. There is some construction work going on but it was far enough away from the quest house not to impact our stay.
• Frédéric (9/5): - Le lieu n'est pas directement accessible en voiture (ni taxi bien entendu), Il y a donc quelques minutes à marcher sur un chemin en dur (et plat) réservé aux piétons et cyclistes. ceci n'a pas du tout été un problème pour nous (nous avions pourtant nos grosses valises). C'est justement cet isolement relatif qui apporte tout le charme du lieu, et une belle vue depuis "l'oasis". pour les déplacements vers la ville (et les autres lieux à visiter sur l'île), il y a toute une série de bus à proximité.

• Aki (10/5): Excellent envitronment and a wonderful host! - All the many other positive reviews have said it all. The host, Terry, was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. He even phoned around to help find our temporarily lost important belongings. And called taxis for us too! The environment is beautiful and tropical, the "green belt" area name is well chosen. A few minutes' walk to the accommodation left the city noise behind, very relaxing. It would be nice to stay longer next time. This time was just a lay-over between flights. Others have said the pathway from the taxi stand was a bit rough for luggage but this is a construction area at the moment and not too difficult even for my husband with a walking stick!

• Marco (8/5): - La struttura è situata in una zona isolata, lontana dal traffico cittadino. Per accedere occorre fare un percorso a piedi di circa 10 minuti. Il proprietario si è dimostrato molto gentile e disponibile. Le camere sono un po' piccole e la mattina filtra parecchia luce dalle finestre.

• Teck Beng (10/5): A surprisingly top-notch rustic countryside homestay. - The remoteness of the property is a great plus for us nature lovers. And crystal-clear directions from the owner made our journey there (by public transport) a breeze. We got there earlier than indicated but the boss adjusted his schedule, checked us in and, based on what we want to do, gave us clear and accurate directions on how to do it. The rooms were much larger than elsewhere in Hong Kong and absolutely spotless and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nothing at all.
