- Jeremy (8/5): A great stay for a stopover/staycay or short trip to JB. - Location. Right smack in the center opposite to JB Sentral connected by a huge pedestrian bridge that is highly accessible. Komtar itself is quite a nice mall with a good spread of shops that are unique in their own ways. City square is right opposite but do check if it's still partially closed for renovation. As I drove, naturally car security was one of my concerns - but the staff there was very helpful to grant me access to a covered parking area - which is on the roof top of the carpark btw. As such, it's almost impossible for the car to be stolen unless the thief has access to ur keys - towing is impossible. Also, the carpark identifies the car visually. Therefore there's no need to use touch n go or physical tickets to get out. All I needed to do was to mention it to the recepionist and she'll register my car as free parking until check out. The hotel carpark being situated on the top rooftop floor meant that there'll be delays getting out of the carpark - around 8 mins. The steep ramps meant that I was forced to go even slower in case I damage my undercarriage. That's the only thing I didn't like but it gave parking a lot more security by design so I can't really complain.

Accessing hotel lobby from ciq is a little tricky as it requires negotiating a flight of escalators and change of lifts.

First is Tommoy who works in Housekeeping but who could not have been more helpful. He spoke a little English and I could see he worked very hard. A lovely young man! Also Clayton at Reception was very helpful especially when I had some difficulty understanding another member of reception whose English was really quite bad. Very nice rooms with great views.

- pOtAtOeME (10/5): Super convenient hotel - We have been returning to this hotel for our JB retreat. The hotel’s location is super convenient especially if you are taking the train from Woodlands. Easy to Grab every where in JB. Rooms are well maintained, and hotel able to secure connecting rooms at a small fee. Breakfast buffet spread is also good. Hotel is also connected to 2 malls - City Square and Komtar JBCC.

- FarAway68614872720 (10/5): Relaxing R&R on Labour day - Hotel room was clean, cozy and smell good, linens were clean and crisp, toilet as well. Breakfast buffet spread was aplenty and delicious especially the nasi lemak. Staff were very helpful and attentive special mention to Ms.Marde. Only downside is that check-in was delayed and lobby was a bit chaotic, staff at the reception tried their best though. Will come back again.

Kudos to the chefs who had prepared the food and the service staff (eg. T A Juddin, Moose, Shi Ting and others whom I can't recall their names) for their wonderful and professional service. They were friendly, polite, attentive and pleasant, such that I am inclined to visit the restaurant again, and to recommend it to my friends and relatives. Thank you Holiday Inn Johore Bahru City Centre for all the fantastic service staff and chefs, for making my lunch experience wonderful and memorable.

Senior manager ANIQ, was extremely helpful with providing us with a new room when we encountered a problem with our initial room at the hotel. ANIQ did not hesitate to move us into a much better room ensuring all facilities were fully functional and we were comfortable with the new surroundings. ANIQ’s professional service was received. Ease of transportation mode with various public transport accessible. Room were superb, really comfortable, nice, clean & hygiene. Truly value for money! Surprisingly eventhough located in the heart of Johor Bahru, zero noise disturbance from the outside or traffic and very calm to pamper your sleep quietly. Cleanliness is top notch with the room service by MD.SOBuj, keep up the good work! Love the pool size with gymnasium facilities. Highly recommended!
