Guest Reviews
- Tiffany (2/5): - The room was dirty, on the 3rd floor with no elevator, spiral staircase and no help. If you cannot drag your suitcase up stairs, don't check in. The shower curtain had not been changed in months and was ripped and the shower has no covering so the floor flooded while I bathed. Stiff, old and stained towels. I will be disputing the charges on this one. If I was not desperate for a place to stay for one night, I would have checked out. The "front desk" was not available for any emergencies and barely for checking in. I would highly NOT recommend this hotel to anyone friend or foe.
- Tommy (6/5): Basic but great location - Great location, easy walk to river and tower, easy access to local shops and metro
- Megan (6/5): - Staff was friendly, but shower was disgusting. Note bring shower shoes.
- Gabrielle (8/5): - Front desk women was very nice. No AC/no elevator which is standard I learned however this place was small cute & they came to freshen up everyday. we literally walked to the Eiffel Tower so it was worth it. Coffee shops & an awesome luxury thrift store down the street.
- Katherine (2/5): - Staff member and the front desk is really really mean and aggressive
- Bernard (8/5): - Lots of restaurants surrounding
Walkable to metro and Eiffel tower
Receptionist are very nice and helpful
Noisy at night
Very small toilet and water takes time to flush
Shower too small
No elevator
- Alexander (2/5): - No AC no fan
Inside of room is stinky and towel is also stinky.
Do not stay this hotel please.
- Panagiota (6/5): - Our stay at this hotel was overall okay.
- Chyrel (6/5): - I stayed at Duplex Hotel in Paris for 5 nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is in a great location—just a short walk to Duplex Metro Station and surrounded by small shops, groceries, and plenty of restaurants. The area felt very safe, and it’s only two train stops or about a 15-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, which we did often and really enjoyed.
The staff were friendly, and I appreciated their effort when I emailed in advance requesting Room 305 (based on good reviews). While we didn’t get that room, we were given Room 405, which had an even better view of the Eiffel Tower—absolutely amazing!
However, there are some downsides. There’s no lift, which makes it challenging for elderly guests or those with knee problems. Even for someone fit, carrying heavy luggage up the spiral staircase is not ideal. The room and bathroom were very small but clean. There’s barely space to open your luggage unless you use the bed or a small stool. Also, there’s no proper fire exit.
The biggest issue came during the last two days of our stay when the Wi-Fi stopped working properly. For the first three days, the internet was fine, but afterward, the connection was almost unusable—only working if you held your phone near the window (which felt unsafe). We reported it to the front desk, but the staff didn’t do anything but suggest we try again or stay near the window for signal
Despite the wifi issue, we still enjoyed our stay mainly b/c of the view and proximity to Eiffel
- Belkis (8/5): - bien
- Marijeta (4/5): - I can’t say I enjoyed my stay because I got 3 bites from whatever insect. I have pictures to show. The property is in a good area but the property needs a lot of work and more cleaning like the shower especially. I worked at hotels and never seen any type of conditions like this is . I’m expecting some money return for the inconvenience and of course cuz I have to go to doctors for the bites. If I had more money I would have leave and find another hotel but that was not possible. Thank u to the lady I believe her name was Sam for her kindness- the other two people have to work on their engagement even if is only hello and bye
- Riley (10/5): Nice Convenient Hotel - Great location that was convenient walking distance to metro stops.
- Hagna (10/5): - Great location near the Eiffel Tower
- julie (6/5): - There were no elevators in hotel and had to carry suitcases up an old wooden spiral staircase to get to check in on 1st floor and then up to 2nd floor room. Bathroom was tiny, barely contained shower, toilet and basin. Door to ensuite swung inwards which made getting in and out of very difficult due to small space. There was no wifi entire 6 nights we stayed at hotel, which was blamed on local district service. But all shops surrounding hotel all had eftpos that worked????? We didn't get fresh towels everyday, bed was not changed or made once and bathroom was not cleaned entire time we were there. Lication is onky thing good about this hotel. Would not recommend
- Britney (10/5): Review - Happy Customer - Amazing location, very close to The Eiffel Tower (5 minute walk)! Facilities very basic, but everything you needed. A little bit of dust located under bed, could hear noise from other rooms occasionally and when showering would soak the whole bathroom floor. However, for the price it’s exceptional.
- Monta (8/5): - Property is located in great area!!!
The property looks similar to pictures but worst! The bathrooms what seemed recenlty redone , are moldy , dirty etc.
My room had mix match paint on the wall, some walls seemed didn’t receive any paint. There was still huge are what seemed to be patched recently and still wet. Blinds/ curtains didn’t fully block out sun/light in the room. If you have any disabilities etc. Or huge luggage’s - You won’t be able even to make it to second floor where is check in, not to mention you won’t be able to make it to the room.
Room does not have mirrors , tv… basically nothing. Reminded me of poor dorm
Room or cheap summer camp lodge. But again location is great, super convenient.
- Nancy (2/5): - It was a shocker. Tight dirty space and No lobby no one as u enter sign says chk in 2nd floor. Narrow spiral staircase. Just a building w 18 rooms and should not be included hotel category. No TV and no table next to bed just cheap wood box. Dirty bathroom floor and towels. Lights along spiral staircase keep turning off and on & not safe . Rooms facing next to or across maybe 3- 3/12 feet apart. Worst experience.
- Lachlan (6/5): - Good location next to a metro station. Plenty of food options around and less than 1km to the Eiffel Tower. Our A/C did not work and we tried to move rooms but there was a bit of a language barrier and we just slept with the window open.
Bathroom floods when you shower but has hot water. I would stay here again as it is cheaper than other options, but not if it was in summer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place but concerns - Dupleix Hotel has comfortable rooms and the price is below normal for this section of Paris. One flaw I found is minor, the curtains should be heavier for blackout. The sun in June rises at 4AM. The major issue is there is no elevator. I'm of age but not infirmed, and carrying bags up 3 flights is not fun. An investment of at least a dumbwaiter for bags would things better.
- Stefan (4/5): - Great location. The room was tiny, as expected. There is no elevator, which is a problem with a room in the fifth floor and luggage. On my first night, the concierge knocked at 11:30 pm on my door looking for a pink suitcase, insisting to check to room, great after arriving Paris at 9 am on a flight from the US.
Also there was no shower curtain and the toilet seat broken. The area however is great
- Katie (10/5): Small comfortable hotel in middle of paris life - Location was EXCELLENT. Close to bus and metro, and train and close to many cafes and bakeries and about 15 minute walk from a paris mall. Location felt safe, was well lit. There was a security code for the door. Someone was always available at the desk. The room was clean and the biggest perk was the bed was VERY comfortable. The shower did not have a curtain so unfortunately it was difficult to shower without spilling water so that was just ok. The view from my open window was very nice. This is close also to the Eiffel Tower. The only drawback is the staircase was a VERY NARROW SPIRAL STAIRCASE and no elevator. If you have a big suitcase as I did, that would be very inconvenient. But the staff was great and everything else was very pleasing.
- miriam (2/5): - Not recommended at all. Place smaller than the pic, dirty, small bathroom, rude staff, too many stairs and no elevators, no tv, bad internet, should i say more?
- Edward (2/5): - 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎S***hole..tiles missing in shower, dirty, smelled like a chain smoker lived there (non-smoking room) our clothes and hair stunk from the brief time we were there..us and a friend booked 2 rooms, and we both moved out in less than 10 minutes. She attempted a refund to no avail..curtain used as bed cover (rings and all)
We had stayed all over Europe and this was BY FAR THE WORST..BE WARNED!!!!!
- William (10/5): - Really good location with friendly staff
- Enrico (8/5): - Posizione comoda e personale gentilissimo
No recomendable.
- Christo (10/5): - Everything was great. Only problem we had was the bathroom is extremely tiny, so when showering, water is all over the bathroom and no drainage.
- JEFFREY (2/5): Pictures are pre-Covid, Don't stay here. - Worst! Supposed to have TV, but none. Shower has no cutains nor shower wall to segregate and keep water from flooding the floor where the toilet is...they say its under construction... then lower the price more as the value it set at is not the condition it should be! Room service is not good..had to keep asking for new towels after they cleaned the room. You have to pay some hotel tax per person when u get there...dunno if that was mentioned on Hotels.com when i reserved. Finally the room was supposed to be non-smoking but it reaked of cigarettes! Never again.
- David Thierry (8/5): - Proximité avec la Tour Eiffel
- Jean-Charles (8/5): - Correct
- Verified traveler (8/5): Solo Trip to Paris - Low-cost Hotel near Metro, great restaurants, markets and easy walk to Eiffel Tower. Room was enough for 1 person. Staff was nice and easy to check-in. Bathroom is small. Toilet uncomfortable. Open shower so water would splash and soak up bathroom floor so the bathroom was a small pound. Hotel did clean up everyday so that helped.
- Rudra (8/5): Decent stay in Dupleix Hotel - It was great for a not super high end or expensive hotel to stay in for leisure travel. The customer service was pretty helpful. One time the heater in my room stopped working, and the front desk person was unable to figure out the problem right then, and therefore gave me some extra bedsheets for the night, which really did help me out!
In terms of the shower, given it was an open shower, it was annoying to sometimes have to deal with a wet bathroom floor often.
There also wasn’t much space for putting extra things, such as a shelf for putting toiletries, but otherwise, it was quite decent.
- Danya (8/5): - A great place for a short stay. Brilliant location steps away from the metro, shops and cafes and close to the major attractions. Despite the run down exterior and entrance, the room itself was clean, comfortable and suprisingly modern. The wifi worked well and, although the shower took a long time to get hot, once it did it was great (although the water did go everywhere!) . The room was small and basic, as to be expected in the heart of Paris as this price. However, it was just what we needed for a comfortable, affordable short stay and the staff we interacted with were all friendly, polite and helpful.
- Sara (6/5): Glad I was just there for a quick layover - Tiny little hotel with windy staircase and no elevator. Glad I was just there for a quick layover and didn’t have much baggage - there would have been no easy way to carry a suitcase up those steps.
Room had no trash can and was pretty dirty with hair on the floor.
However was affordable and in a great location minutes from the Eiffel Tower and amazing shops and cafes.
- Takako (6/5): - Transportation was convenient. The building is old, but they are keeping rooms clean. It was more comfortable than I expected, but the shower room needs to be improved.
- jonnalagadda (2/5): - The staff was very rude since we knew that there was no lift we had requested for the lower floor while booking the room itself but they had failed to do so. The day manager was rude and was unhelpful. He spoiled a day for us with his arrogance. The stairs are very narrow that you can’t carry the luggage upstairs and the hotel doesn’t even have a porter. The beds are very hard and not comfortable to sleep. The bathroom is very small and also there’s no shower curtain. The water spills through out the bathroom and there’s a high chance of slippery, I almost tripped once. You can find some nice hotels near by when compared to this. There was no proper check in process in this hotel and we couldn’t ask for the recommendations and suggestions for the nearby restaurants coz the lady in the reception doesn’t speak anything else other than french. I would never recommend for anyone else.
- Sylviane (8/5): - The room was more spacious that I was anticipating. Very comfortable for 1 person in Paris! The previous comments are accurate: the stairs are not easy to navigate with big luggage, the bathroom was flooded at every shower since the drain was higher than the floor and you can easily hear your neighbors. Since I was aware of this, I had a really nice stay for 4 nights and the location was great (super close to Dupleix metro)!
- Benjamin (4/5): - Many dead bugs in corners, as well as layer of dust under the bed.
- Anxhelina (4/5): - The room was clean and the bathroom was newly renovated. But there was no AC and no WiFI on the fourth floor. If you have heavy luggage, it would have been hard to carry it upstairs. Close to the metro and close to Eiffel Tower.
- Martine (4/5): Below average - The only advantage is the location, close to the Eiffel Tower. The lady at the desk was nice but the room was less than average. Impossible to open the window completely. Lights missing. Desk too tiny to use and no lights on it. Nowhere to sit. No closet. Bathroom awful : no shower curtain. Flood at every shower. Nowhere to hang the towels. AC not working. In a nutshell, it is ok as the price is reasonable, but do not expect to be comfortable. The funny thing was to read the sign: « in case of fire, do not use the elevator ». Well, there is no elevator and the staircase is very narrow and steep.
- Eryn (2/5): - Would not recommend. Nothing around the shower AT ALL so your bathroom will be completely soaked and a full puddle. No AC. Beds are not comfortable. Honestly not worth it AT. Save your money or spend it elsewhere.
- Carlos Alberto (10/5): - Near to Eiffel Tower
- wendy (6/5): - Tiny and hot. Bathroom really scary as far as safety goes. If you are a large person, forget it. Great location, staff friendly and helpful.
- Marybeth (10/5): - Very convenient helpful staff would recommend as a budget option.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 'Kind of crappy' - Fourth floor walk-up with no-AC OR fan provided in a heatwave of 40C was not pleasant. 1 towel per person and the shower had no curtain. The bathroom floor became flooded after every shower.
- Rajani (4/5): - No wifi
- Christian Dan (10/5): - My room has got the unique Eiffel Tower view! :)
- Maggie (4/5): - Booked a room for two people for one night. Room advertised as having hair dryer but the entire hotel only has 1 hair dryer for all guests to share. I requested for it and they told me another guest has it and they’re out for the day. Never got a hold of the hair dryer. Advertised as having Air conditioning but the staff said it cannot be turned on until June 1st. Bring your own toothbrush, soap, toothpaste etc. only towel and toilet paper provided. No garbage can provided in room or washroom either. On check out around 8-10am, no staff was on site to check anyone out or store people’s luggage as promised. We left our keys on the table and hoped for the best…
- Muhammad Imran (6/5): - The room size is very small. Standard or single room is 7x5 sqft which was very inconvinient.
- Bilaal (8/5): Good central hotel for a budget - If you're looking for a central hotel then this place is hard to beat. The hotel is located right round the corner from a metro stop and within walking distance to the Eiffel tower and other attractions. There are also very good bakeries and cafes nearby which served food at a very reasonable price. The hotel struggled with some basic things. There was no shower curtain so the water soaked the bathroom each time you shower. There was hair on the pillow. There was no bin. There was no TV or kettle or coffee making facilities in the room. There was no microwave or fridge. There was no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom. There wasn't enough towels though we were able to ask for more and each time (apart from a french women who was on reception), all of the staff were friendly. We were also charged hotel teax for a child under 18 so make sure you check whether this is actually payable. Apart from this, the beds were comfortable and the room, although small was well ventilated with the large windows and had a great view. The walls are thin. All in all, I paid £118 for two nights for a double room and I would struggle to find anything remotely close to that in central paris. The stairs are very steep and care needs to be taken when going up and down. I would probably consider staying again if I was going solo to Paris but probably not with a group.
- Collins (10/5): - Very good location
