- V.Geb (9/5): Sluiswachters-ervaring van de bovenste plank! - De locatie is subliem! Ongezien!
- Kerle (7/5): Overall a lovely stay - Comfortable bed, cute message for us when arriving. The location wasn't the best since the tram drove right next to the house and it was really loud. Good was, that there were earplugs that we could use, but I don't like them that much and that's why i didn't enjoy the location that much.
- Steve (7/5): Nice, rough, novel, scenic, and a little too public. - Nice rear view of the canal. Price a little high. A bit more window/door privacy would have been welcome. A tad noisy with the trams crossing by - boom boom, clunk clunk. Breakfast has to be gotten elsewhere.

- Stanisław Gregor (10/5): A blind-buy for anyone who wants to have something unique, captivating, with a human touch - The property is definitely worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY.
As you approach the building, you'll notice that the interior lights are on. When you enter, you're welcomed by atmospheric lighting and a pleasantly warm indoor temperature. You can then enjoy the well-designed interior, comfy bed, handwritten welcome card, gifts, and an iPad with all the necessary information.
Checking in and out is relatively easy. Personally, I prefer to receive the key code via text message (SMS/Booking/e-mail/whatever), but the provided iOS app works just fine. The bathroom is pretty small, which leads to some inconveniences.
The property is located far from the strict center of Amsterdam. It takes about 45 minutes to walk there on foot ...but you can always take the tram - the tram stop is almost at the property's doorstep 🙂
- Döne (9/5): - Sicak ve cok temiz ve konforluydu ve coolk romantik di Sevmediğimiz bi yer yoktu
- Annet (9/5): -
- João (10/5): I felt like a swan waking up in the water! Loved it. - Loved how it blends with the canal in a delicate way That it didn’t have a coffee machine
- Iuliia (9/5): - Fantastic canal view, full furnitured apartment, comfortable bed, lovely staff, next to a tram station that’s very convenient to get the center. There is no bathrobe at my closet. I was surprised cause it was mentioned at a room description
- Damien (8/5): Experience in quaint setting, Customer Service not great - The Bridge House was quaint, with a great view over the canal. It was surprisingly quiet too. The was an odour from the toilet, maybe some disinfectant or cleaner - smelled like stagnant water.
Customer Service from SWEETS was not up to what we have experienced through 5 weeks travelling Europe. We asked for early check in but were told that house needed cleaning. We arrived at cafe across the road and rang up at midday to see if we could access, was told "cleaning still needed to be completed". Sat in cafe until received email from SWEETS at 3:10pm to say we could access...........never saw anyone enter or exit the house during this period!!!! Think SWEETS were chasing extra 75Euro fee for early entry and making statement. Either way wasn't the service we have experienced using Booking.com or AirBnB through 5 weeks travelling many countries through Europe.
- Andy (9/5): Quirky but very pleasant - Great view down the canal - former control cabin for a swing bridge on the canal Be warned - the metal bridge makes passing traffic and trams extremely noisy. Slept very badly the first night but much better after that (with the aid of ear plugs)
- justyna (8/5): Relaxing historic stay - The property is situated on the canal with amazing views on the water. It's vintage charm has been preserved and we were able to experience a little bit of history of bridge houses. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. It is in a quieter area of Amsterdam which we enjoyed as we were able to have crowds free strolls along the canal. Unfortunately when we arrived there were dripping sauce stains on the cupboards and some old food in the fridge. There was also no cleaning supplies - otherwise I would have cleaned it myself.
- Svetlana (10/5): I really enjoyed this accommodation and would love to stay there again someday. - Great view from the window. Cozy atmosphere. Tram stop nearby. 2 points that did not really bother me, but if this is important to you, keep in mind:
1. There is a noisy bridge under the windows.
2. There are no cooking facilities (there is only a kettle).
- Joao (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (10/5): Amazing place. - The place is amazing, really nice, views are incredible, bed really comfortable. I would recommend it if you want to have a wonderful experience in Amsterdam! We really love the place ❤️ Everything was perfect. May be the check in at 4 is a bit late, our flight arrived at 9 in the morning so we had to walk around with the bags.
- Ihor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (10/5): Great location out of the touristy and overcrowded part of Amsterdam. - Such a unique property located right on the tram line with a working bridge. We really felt part of the neighborhood.
- Philippe (9/5): Superb -
- Hayley (10/5): must visit! - The bed was super comfy and check in was very easy, small issue with flexipass app but upon calling through the booking.com app we got into the property in less then 2 minutes and the lady on the phone was very kind and helpful. The tea was a homely touch. The views from the accommodation were amazing and even though we had some rain it made it even more cosy inside. The canal views were breathtaking in the morning and the area was safe and had lots of coffee shops and supermarkets all around for morning pastries and coffee. The tram was not loud or bothersome but if it would have been they provided ear plugs. This property would be great for couples as it had a very romantic feel to it. We were not cold even in minus temperatures in January because the heater was great, it kept the whole place warm. There is additional heaters in the bathroom and hall way area. Everything was clean and the mini fridge was spotless and worked well. Easy to reach the centre via the 17 or 13 tram, only 2 minutes walk from the accomodation and takes only 15/20 mins max to reach the centre. However, anything that was needed could be found in the local area. If we will return to the Netherlands we will stay in another Sweets location as opposed to a hotel, such a homely unique comfortable experience offered. Very private also and all the windows easily closed/covered. Nothing :)
- Sally (5/5): If all of the above problems did not exist the stay would have been perfect. - Location to tourist spots. The noise of the trams and cars over the bridge were very loud especially till 24h00 and started again around 5h00. The entrance heating did not work and so was freezing especially getting to and from the toilet/shower. The shower drainage was bad and so spread into toilet area (needs a trough ti shower in!). The bathroom window did not close properly and so let in very cold air. Also there was no hanging or hooks to hang towels or clothes in the bathroom.
- Jeremy (9/5): Sweet - Delighted to stay in the Kinkerbrug apartment, weird & wonderful :) The bathroom needs a sink. It felt a bit weird using the toilet and not washing your hands straight afterwards.
- Lorenzo (9/5): Superb -
- Madelyne (10/5): Great Amsterdam canal experience - We loved the views from the bridge tower and the beautifully styled interior. It was such a great experience. The added bonus was watching the bridge go up and down when boats needed to pass through.
- Jacob (9/5): Superb - Cosy and a great view
- Isabella (9/5): I loved it! I’m from the city so I’m used to the noise - The house was so cute! And conveniently located. And the bed was super comfy as well. Very loud outside
- Jean (8/5): We loved staying in the bridge house - the view from our bed was spectacular - The history and location of this bridge house made it a unique The tram was quite noisy so if you are a light sleeper this may not be the place for you
- Breki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (7/5): Most unique and exciting hotel I’ve ever visited but would not recommend for timid travelers. - Extremely unique, incredible views. Graffiti on the walls, homeless people lingering on the porch and trying to enter, very noisy.
- Elianne (8/5): Very comfortable and cute, had everything we needed - It was very cozy, had a lot of character and was super clean. The bed was divine! The light switch of the bathroom being positioned at the other side of the hall.
- Ana (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb - Incredible experience. Convenient location. Very comfortable bed. A lot of noise. We loved it, but I wouldn't recommend it to people who appreciate silence!
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Wonderful location, with everything you need and so unique and cozy.
Don't stay in a hotel, stay here! Nothing to not like
- Ana (9/5): Unique experience but for a short stay visit. - For me personally location was great. Everything was really good, clean and design of the place is quirky and cool. Only thing which I find really a problem is tram passing over the bridge and making terrible noise, so is the traffic.
- Dirk (9/5): Will be back - Really cool place in a unique location. Highly recommended!
- Ahmet (9/5): Superb -
- Justus (10/5): Exceptional - Super sweet little apartment with lovely details. All furniture and equipment have great quality. You can look directly from the comfortable bed on the canal. The location is well connected and in a charming neighborhood. The nights were calm but during the day you can hear the busy street. It's still the most unique stay we ever had!
- John (8/5): Fun and unique. - Fun and unique place to stay. Great to see the boats go up the canal. The cool factor is high as can be. We also stayed in another SWEETS canal house down the canal a bit. Both of them were great. The tram was much more quiet on this bridge. We plan to stay in another canal house next year when we travel back to Amsterdam. We had a drunk banging on a window one night (not the fault of the SWEETS hotels). It is a very sturdy and secure building and we were never in danger. It is just the reality of being on such a very busy sidewalk. Very weak wifi. The weak wifi was my only real complaint. It is 2024, wifi shouldn't be a problem. We both needed to check in with work daily and the wifi was not sufficient.
- Serena (10/5): PERFECT STAY, I highly recommend this accommodation🤩 - 10/10 10/10
- Yulisha (10/5): Quaint, cozy, very comfortable bed, I felt safe, and everything was clean! Bravo! This was an easy 10/10 - The view and location were absolutely incredible. The bathroom had an initial smell to it, probably due to ventilation but that went away. certainly not a reason to deter your stay here
- Winston (8/5): If you really want the nice view then I would recommend! - View was pretty and bed was comfortable and a good size for two people. I like that they give you one key card as well as being able to use your phone so that two people can carry it at all times. The bathroom wasn't ideal, I wish they boxed in the shower instead of just having one piece of glass separating it next to the toilet. The lighting in the room could've been brighter as well. If you're looking for something more comfortable, the nature of bridge houses might not be able to provide you with all that.
- Azahara (10/5): Perfect ❤️ - I loved everything about this place, the location is perfect 😌🙏🏼 so beautifull. Waking up and see the canal is just amazing. The little house was impecable, the may need a change but I slept like a baby anyways. It was like 30/40 min walk to the Central Station or you can take the tram N°17 and only takes you 15min.
Supermarkets, coffeshops, take-aways, theres everything near by.
I would recommend this place to everyone
10/10 As I said the bed could be replaced but its nothing that ruins the experiencie.
- Max (9/5): Good value in a good location. - Location in Amsterdam is very good, its very close to Jan Pieter Heijestraat and surrounds which has a lot of good cafes and bars, and a local food market. Very quick cycle to the city.
Overall interior facilities are very nice, very comfy bed, and enough space for everything. The only big issue is its right next to the tram line, there are earplugs provided, so how well you sleep depends on you. I didn't have much of a problem.
- Deano (10/5): Location, price, cleanliness, uniqueness....all great. - Location was incredible, price was very fair for Amsterdam on a Friday night, communication from staff was great too. Highly recommended.
- Abigael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roxanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (9/5): Quirky and cosy place to stay. - The location is quirky and fun. It was also warm in some very chilly wet weather. Everything is there in a small space. Really cosy place. Great location for transport connections. The only issue is that one person has to climb over the other to get out of bed. Some people don't like this but it didn't bother me. Thought I would mention it!
- Steven (10/5): Loved our stay. - Loved our stay. The canal house was lovely, very basic, and clean. We had trouble with the heaters, but that was user error, and once they got going, it was cosy and warm. The view was amazing. We loved everything about it, and we will definitely be staying again 4pm check-in wasn't the best, but literally the only thing I can fault. GREAT stay.
- Michelle (7/5): Yes and no - Th peculiar position and the little details It’s was so uncomfortable to shower as all the tiny bathroom was full of water on the floor right after it. The bathroom is too small for both a shower and a Wc. I think they should renew it.
Then you have to know that the tram is passing right next to the house so will hear EVERYTHING.
Too expensive for lack of basic comforts.
- Nicole (9/5): Short and sweet stay here, will definitely return! - Loved the experience staying here, it was unique and the location was great - accessible and quiet at night. It felt safe despite being on a bridge, we aren’t light sleepers so the sound from the bridge didn’t bother us at all. It felt private despite having the windows all around us, black out curtains were installed. The tram stop was so near as well so we didn’t have a hard time getting to the center and back, it took us about 10-15 mins. It was clean as well, though I’d recommend toning down the beddings (using white pillows etc) to just make it overall feel cleaner :) It was renovated well but there’s also room for lots of improvement given the price of a night. Will definitely stay here/their other bridge houses!
- Daniel (10/5): Highly recommend. It blew my expectations out the water! - Most incredible view of the canal
- Ruby (9/5): Overall a lovely stay! This is a unique experience and we would recommend for a short stay in Amsterdam! - Awesome view. Homely feel. A very unique experience. Comfy bed. Nice design. Small space. No sink in the bathroom. Only had 1 toilet roll for a 5 day stay. Cacti on windowsill are very pretty but the spikes got everywhere and I still have some in my hands.
- Antonio (7/5): Pleasant stay - Autonomy, We felt that in that small space, we were in a small house with a multidimensional history (technical, professional, socio-urban, etc.) but with a certain autonomy.
Very pleased with the coffee and tea bag filter system. Problem with the keys. One key must be delivered per person (2 people = two copies). Ok, there's always the possibility of opening it with your cell phone, but something might go wrong (run out of battery power, etc.) and be out of office hours.
Another inconvenience is not being able to leave the bags in the room after check-out (11 am), having to take the luggage to the Damrak (central office) where not even taxis can stop... a lot of complication and extra expenses... even . Think of another solution to have this gesture of help towards the people who chose your services (customers).
Another inconvenience is the noisy environment (tram, traffic in general, bridge services, etc.), although it is something that cannot be avoided because it is part of the characteristics of the location. For the same reason, the listed price is not worth it.
- Emilie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Azad (8/5): Very good -
- Annika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Fantastic, very unique accommodation with stunning true Amsterdam view - The view, where the property was situated Floor could have been cleaner
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Taleea (8/5): Beautiful spot and view!! - location was perfect! Apartment was cute and the view was amazing!!! the trams dont stop til 1 am and start again at 5 am, VERY loud. Also had construction work going on.
- Tara (10/5): It is perfect for a solo traveler or couples that are used to tiny spaces. A very unique place to stay! Definitely sleep - The uniqueness of the property, the view, the bed! Its a little further out than the Grachtengordol area you’d like to be in, meaning a long walk home at the end of a day of walking, but the tram stop is right there so that’s really convenient!
For the price, I think a room turnover should be every second or third day, it IS a hotel.
- Viatcheslav (8/5): Nice location, view. Good communication with owners. - Loaded application and receive the code by email Absence of Microwave and Coffee Machine
- Veronica (6/5): Pleasant - The pillows were comfortable and there were many of them. It was snowing and raining during our trip so we appreciated the heater in room and towel warmer in the bathroom/toilet. For the price, we expected more. One toilet paper roll with no reserve (housekeeping came on the 3rd day), the hot water broke at one point (they brought someone to fix it while we were out and offered a place for me to take a shower), The kitchen sink is the only sink so a place for toiletries would be a nice touch. The bathroom and entryway would benefit from an air freshener.
- Scotvoice (10/5): A unique view of Amsterdam - This is such a special place to stay. The location is so unique ,right on the canal. We loved sitting at the window and watching the world go by. The icing on the cake was when the bridge opened We knew the house was right next to the tram line. It means it’s quite noisy. We didn’t bank on the roadworks too. As we have stayed in a bridge house before we knew about the noise.
- Tristan (10/5): Just amazing and very nice - Everything is amazing on this property! Comfort, everything works as expected, great location, super comfy bed and small but big enough space for a night. there is nothing not to like
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annemarie (9/5): Superb -
- Felicia (10/5): PERFECT STAY - everythingggg!!!!
it was such a lovely stay. the location was great and the owners left a cute letter for me. really lovely.
heating worked great for the cold nights!! nothing
- Mmkarmenia (8/5): Very good -
- Krystelle (9/5): Superb - Loved the compact design of the room and the fast replies of customer support. Everything went well, check-in is very easy and was given clear instructions. The view is amazing, the bridge action next to us was very cool and didn't bother us at all. Overall 4.5/5
- Timothy (8/5): Very good - Nice location, great comfy bed 😀👍 It was not what I expected! But I really enjoyed my stay!
- John (9/5): Good fun for a short stay - Comfy and cozy. A touch of Amsterdam history. Having to shave in the shower.
- Jane (8/5): we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves - very bijou and and a bit quirky
loved the big lampshade no cooking facility
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
