Guest Reviews
- Marcia (7/5): Great location in lovely area - Great location, lots of space
- Ellen (9/5): Great place, great location!
Great place for shopping and for the Acropolis. - Excellent location for pick up for tours. Great facilities. Comfortable, very clean. Nothing.
- Sid (8/5): Excellent - The location. Good size apartment. Bathroom
- Titawaty (9/5): Wouldn’t mind to stay here again 😊 - kitchen, washer, plenty of space, and location! It is so close to everything we need 🩷 The bed is little hard for my husband but okay for me
- FAINA (7/5): -
- Jana (10/5): - Place was amazing.
Clean and everything as need.
Perfect location.
I will 100% stay here again when i will be in Athens.
- Susan (10/5): -
- Scholtz (9/5): Superb -
- Debi (7/5): Good - Location
- Carl (9/5): Great location - Perfect for a couple, there was everything we needed. The location for a tourist couldn't be better.
- Michelle (1/5): Bad -
- Bernadette (10/5): It was a very enjoyable stay - entry instructions were great and communication was excellent. - It was in a great location and very well equipped. Not applicable
- Ross (9/5): Great position. - The location was superb. The bathroom could do with a make over.
- Eve (3/5): Very tired flat! - The situation. Some quirky decoration. There was a foam mattress on top of the regular mattress which made it a comfortable sleep. We were contacted by our host to say that there was no hot water - a new boiler was not working properly but an engineer would be there the day after our arrival to sort it out. We said, Fine! We were then told that this appointment had been cancelled - so no hot water for our 4 day stay!! We then discovered that toilet paper had to be put into a bin in the bathroom - I was not happy at the thought of poo covered paper being in the bathroom for 4 days - I was reassured 'the cleaning lady will come every day to throw it away!' Great! She appeared once! When I objected on the 11th May to this, I was told, 'We do not have a daily cleaning service like in hotels' When I pointed out that this was not what she had said on the 8th May, SILENCE!! These messages are all recorded on WhatsApp.
So, the flat is very tired! Once upon a time, it would have been 'a lovely flat' but that table you see in the picture is scratched, the bath has peeling paint, the kitchen is worn out - and there are only 2 plugs in it. And when I reached to see what was on the 3rd and 4th shelves, I came away with sticky hands and equipment - hadn't been cleaned in months!!
It could be 'lovely' again but it needs some money spending on it and someone to manage it who doesn't lie to the customers!
- Gary (9/5): Brilliant location and very clean. Washing machine was a bonus. Communication with the owner was excellent and queries w - Brilliant location right in the middle of Plaka. Easy walking to the Acropolis and other attractions Hand held shower. Would have been nice to attach it to the wall
- Becca (8/5): Awesome Plaka location! - Great apartment in a fabulous location in the heart of Plaka and within an easy walk of most sites. Awesome, friendly, communication from the owner and very easy, clear, instructions re access to the property via a coded lockbox. The apartment is really well kitted out and had everything we needed. Bed was comfy too and we would stay again! The water must be on a low thermostat as it never got particularly hot. The instructions were to keep the water heater off and just put it on for 20 mins before showering. We found this inadequate, even with very quick showers, but made do. I boiled the kettle for hot water for washing up. The bottom of the bath is very slippery so we stood on a small towel, when showering, for safety. Neither of these things detracted from our stay however.
- Elizabeth (9/5): It was a great location, and a nice place to stay. Just needs to correct the hot water issue - excellent location and nice flat to stay the hot water in the bathroom had issues. The bathroom did not have enough hot water to take a bath or a shower. The host was very responsive and tried repeatedly to fix the problem. But the hot water issues never improved enough to take a hot shower.
- Marlis (10/5): Lovely spacious apartment in a part of Athens where we felt very safe. Building was very secure. - Excellent location. Very clean, spacious property. Kitchen and bath contained all of the essentials. Washing machine did not have instructions. Had to Google those.
No hot pads. Not enough kitchen towels/cloths.
- Diane (7/5): Nice place except the shower - Close location to placa neighborhood No real shower, just a slippery tub with a hand held shower
- Rose (5/5): Knowing what I know now, I would opt to stay at a local hotel as there are plenty in the area. - The location is perfect. Very walkable to anything you might want in Athens proper and local sites. The apartment is spacious. equipped with full kitchen, if that's something you're looking for. They also have several outlet adapters to use if you are coming from somewhere other than Greece or Italy. If you arrive before check in at 3:00, or plan to leave Athens after check out at 11:00, there's is no place to store luggage. There isn't a lift, so luggage needs to carried up and down stairs. The street noise is quite prevalent and goes on well past 10:00. If you like / need a proper shower, there isn't one, there is just a tub with a shower attachment.
- Vinicius (9/5): Superb - The location couldn't have been better—right in the heart of Athens and just a short walk to all the major attractions, including the Acropolis and vibrant local spots. The flat was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Additionally, the host was extremely responsive; when a small issue arose, they replied promptly and resolved it right away.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Kristi (8/5): Location is unbeatable but the ac did not cool the space - Location is prefect. Host was excellent! There is a washer ! The A/c did not cool below 77 *F first nite. Shower could be a lot better.
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Todd (6/5): Location and value make the place worth the stay but prepare to maybe take a cool shower and be hot. - Location..Great location.. Air conditioning very weak and room very hot. Water heater kept tripping the circuit breaker so there was no hot water for two of the days.
- Jan (6/5): - Great location but terrible check in process. We did not get the check in instructions until just before arrival and she Did Not give us the code for the key. We waited almost two hours to get in because we couldn’t get ahold of her on What’s app. She needs to have a proper phone number, the person working the store below the apartment said this happens a lot with the property. The staff at Expedia were great in helping me contact her to get the code, her excuse was the internet was down. The photo she sent me did not come through until1am after the check in.
- Orvilito (5/5): Perfect location except for the aircon and curtain. - The location was perfect but the unit needs to:
1) repair the aircon
2) window curtains needs repair. Aircon cannot cool the room and the curtain can't be pull down.
- Lisa (8/5): - This was a great area to stay as it was close to everything. The place was quaint and comfortable. A little tricky to find but the hostess tried to be helpful
- Ken (9/5): Location could have not been better! You can shop from the balcony! Directly above the shops and very lively at nights. - Perfect location!!!! Great shopping and restaurants steps away from apartment! The room was great but the air conditioner did not get cool enough and the room was slightly warm
- Karina (10/5): We were happy to have our own little apartment to call home for four days of exploring Athens. Thank you Daniela for bei - We loved the location and how easy it was to access the places we wanted to see and then come « home » to relax whenever we felt like we needed to escape the heat. It was all great!
- Katatina (8/5): A comfortable stay. - Location location location. Bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. Disappointing there was no shower head just a hand held hose without a holder.
- Julie (8/5): Was a lovely stay. Perfect location. Enjoyed it greatly. We were there during very hot weather and the air conditioner s - Excellent location, lovely flat. Very tidy The air conditioner seemed too small for the area.
- Natalie (10/5): Excellent location, responsive, helpful hosts - It is very centrally located, an 8 min walk to the acropolis. There's a pottery making store around the corner which I loved! Shops and cafes everywhere. What's amazing is, although it is at the heart of the city, it is also quiet inside! I was worried since I am a light sleeper, and it was a non issue.
Additionally, Daniela was our point of contact and she was incredibly responsive and happy to provide guidance / recommendations.
Also, a 10 min walk away from Gazie, which has beautiful rooftop bars with a view of the acropolis. Just make sure the AC is set to 21-23, else it does not work properly. Once we were told that, it was great.
- Sandy (10/5): Exceptional - The flat was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location was perfect- in the heart of Plaka and very close to The Acropolis. It was very easy for us ttongetnpurnbearings and find our way around.
- Robert (1/5): In the United States, this is called “bait and switch”. - We liked that it was really in Greece, at least that part of the listing is true Property was not as it was described in listing. Shower was dirt and rusty, toilet was disgusting, toiletries consisted of a half filled pump bottle of soap, hot water took 30 mins to heat up, it was NOT a separate bedroom as stated in listing. The kitchen is not modern or updated. But it seems people are ok with all of these issues. It’s shameful that a company like booking.com that makes billions of dollars in profit can’t find any way to help people out
- Eva (8/5): It’s clean and convenient you’re paying for the location. - Right upstairs from all the shopping. Bathroom needs updating; simple place center of Athens.
- Ruby (9/5): My husband and I enjoyed every bit of our stay there. Would definitely stay here again if we were to visit next time. Yo - Fantastic location - right in the heart of Plaka. Souvenir shopping within a few steps away. Lots of restaurants nearby. Minutes away from the Acropolis, Tripodon Street and other major landmarks. Very quiet at night. No bars or restaurants operating nearby. Apartment is on a pedestrian only street. Very safe neighborhood. Excellence metal shades for privacy and to shield the heat and sun for the balcony facing windows. Huge bathroom that could use some updating but still functional. The kitchen is well equipped but doesn’t have a regular stove top oven.
- Agradeep (10/5): It's a great place to stay. I liked it a lot. - The apartment is beautiful and very well furnished. The living room is large and spacious and can easily accommodate 4 people. The kitchen is also well equipped. There was also a first aid kit, which is super useful. The bathroom is nice and has a washing machine. The apartment is directly in the middle of a shopping street, and the Akropolis metro is 4 minutes away. Worth the money The AC in my room wasn't working well. Maybe it's because it's so hot outside, or maybe it just needs to be cleaned. It gets really hot at night.
- Geoff (10/5): It was a nice place to stay - We liked the location. It was a nice place to stay
- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the position
- Richard (2/5): Disappointed - A communications problem with owner. Not a friendly conversation.
- Hayes (8/5): The host was awesome! Left us instructions for everything and was very quick to respond any time we had a question. the - Location was perfect and right in the middle of everything. and it was super easy to find the walls were kinda thin. can hear everything outside and inside and i wish they had blackout curtains to block out the light from the street and the sun coming up.
- Kwang (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely flat large space all requirements Bathroom could do with updating abit, but otherwise it was good!
- T (8/5): Super convenient with everything within a short walk! - Spacious, comfortable. Excellent location in Plaka, walk to everything! The bath was a bonus!! Kitchen & bathroom a little dated but perfectly fine and functional.
- Ricky (9/5): Lovely apartment, vert close to everything in Plaka. - Location and facilities Coffee machine does not stay hot, but maybe operator lack of knowledge. Maybe a hook for shower rose.
- Ian (8/5): Great location - The apartment was spacious and in a great location in walking distance to the Acropolis and Parthenon restaurants and the hop on off tourist bus. After 24 hours flying my phone battery was flat and could not access internet to obtain entry instructions posted at 11 that morning which would have made entry easy pop. Used local phone to ring host who did not want to listen and was quite nasty. It took a 5 minute stressful conversation to finally obtain the entry code.
- David (10/5): Friendly helpful host and clean spacious flat. - Very close to all museums and historical sites and also good cafes and restaurants Nothing
- Rico (10/5): Wonderful stay, great location, Comfortable - The location is awesome - it's right in the center of the Plaka which makes walking very easy. Super close to the Acropolis. The Kitchen is very nice and the room is large - it's a studio apartment but with plenty of room. I didn't know about the metal shutters until the second night but those were wonderful to keep the noise down and light out for sleeping. I would definitely stay there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Wonderful location, only 10 mins away from the Acropolis South entrance and 5 mins from temple of Olympic Zeus. Also super conveniently located steps away of restaurants and souvenir shops.
Notes:
Shower head not fixed to the wall, you need to hold it with your hand.
One more suggestion would be putting together one single message or email with all check in instructions.
- Elsa (10/5): - Everything you need is available in the flat. Everything! Excellent central location. Upstairs from a shopping street so some noise during the day but late night was no problem.
- Scott (9/5): Perfectly located, a spacious apartment with everything you need for a short stay - Location, space, facilities, security, balcony. Nothing
- Gil (8/5): Very convenient and comfortable place to stay - The location was great, very quiet and loved the air conditioning We were initially locked out as the blue fob to enter the building did not work. Luckily a tenant came by and let us in ( her fob did not work either but she had a key).We called the owner who then spoke to the maintenance manager there but it was a fault at the building and no fobs worked. This is an issue, we were stuck outside in the heat.Perhaps the owner needs to supply a key to the entrance should this happen to another traveller.
- Vinoth (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cindy (9/5): Superb -
- Kelly (7/5): Good - Great location, can't be beat! Mattress is for hardy backs only!
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Rosario (2/5): She is not a nice host , the air conditioning also was not working we were sweating all night working we were sweating a - The location was good The owner Adrianna was rude , she was almost yelling at me when I call her to let her know I was outside..also the shower water was freezing there was no warm water , when I told her that there was no warm water she said I needed to call her to ask her how to turn on water heater !!! Really ? Also she said I could use the washing machine because I specifically ask about the washer , then when we got there she said it was only for guests that stay 4-5 days not just one night. 😫..
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denelle (10/5): Highly recommend booking this flat if you are staying in Plaka. - It is a beautiful flat in a great location. Spotless and well appointed. Grateful for the delicious Greek wine, morning coffee and snacks. Daniela was kind and very helpful. In the extreme heat a stand up fan in the living space could help a bit. But the AC was just fine. :)
- Garry (9/5): A well placed apartment close to many things to see and do - A lovely apartment in the midst of Plaka. An excellent location with many restaurants close by. Many historical sites within easy walking distance including The Acropolis. n/a
- Gabriela (9/5): Excellent location and perfect apartment - Everything was perfect! The location is obsoletely stunning, a few steps to Acropole and just near Anafiotika which is a marvelous place. The area is full of stores and restaurants but in a very nice way compared with the streets full of gift stores near Monastiraki square. We've stand in the balcony and drank a glass of wine and we felt like we were on a restaurant terrace. It was a nice surprise that we've found wine, water, fruits sweetness (jam) in the fridge. Thank you, again, Daniela!
The apartment has everything you need, it is spacious, the bathroom is very well equipped and the kitchen as well. We haven't used the kitchen because there are a lot of bakeries around for breakfast and coffee but in the apartment was tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, oil, spices, etc.
I recommend to choose a nice apartment like this(even if you don't have breakfast) instead of an old hotel with breakfast(to be at the same price). A hotel in this area is at least twice as expensive as this apartment.
So, it is an excellent choice which will definitely assure you a perfect stay in Athens (Plaka and Anafiotika are the precious stones of Athens). A lot of taverns situated on the stairs on lovely little streets full of bougainvillea, by day is all so colorful and by night is all full of magnificent lights where you can here live music - bouzouki singers.
I attached here some pictures from the apartment and of the area - what you can find maximum 200 m around the apartment. -
- David (10/5): We have stayed in the Plaka over 3 different trips and years and this was our best apartment and experience to date. Gre - location, location. you could not ask for a better location in the Plaka. Right in the heart of all the Plaka has to offer, but every evening it was quiet as the shops closed around 10 pm. The apartment itself was wonderful and well equipped for either short or long stays. We would definitely book again. Daniela the host was very helpful and polite and quick to respond. nothing
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Corin (10/5): wonderful! - amazing location! spacious flat that felt safe for two women travelers. great host! the shower was a bit odd. make sure to turn on water heater for 40min-1hr before your shower to have a hot shower.
- Shannon (8/5): lovely stay in the heart of Athens! - The location was fantastic and Daniela was super responsive and gave clear instructions for arrival. the apartment was nice and clean, with a lovely little balcony that overlooked a busy street. the restaurant right next door was also fantastic!! the bathroom could use a bit of updating, but that was minor as it was clean, with nice towels and a washing machine!
- A (9/5): Superb - Spacious for location.We walked everywhere we needed.
- Linda (9/5): Lovely flat in a good neighborhood. - The location was perfect. Right inside the Plaka area with vendors all around. It had a full kitchen for coffee or storing food and drinks. Also there was a lovely balcony. The bathroom was nice and had a clothes washer if needed. One note: if you are a spoiled American, there is a learning curve with the heat and hot water. The hot water has to be turned on for about 30 minutes for showers and general hot water. My husband read the note with the instructions and all was fine. I am used to sleeping on regular bed pillows and the provided pillows were throw pillows.
- Lisa (8/5): fabulous stay brilliantly located - great location nothing
- Richard (9/5): Great place, attentive host, the BEST location for sightseeing - The place is clean and spacious. Key and facility instructions are clear and easy to follow and altho we couldnt phone/message daniela's number, booking.com messaging was good and answers were quick. The facilities are all that you need ... except no bathplug! The location is the best. Absolutely central to all the sights ... 5 mins from Acropolis entrance. 5 mins from Hadrians gate and nearby. 7 mins opposite direction to Ancient Agora etc. Surrounded by shops, bars and restos. 10mins walk Sintagma for airport metro. Couldnt be better located. Nothing ... fantastic stay. Slam the washing machine door shut hard ... it does work when the door is closed hard enough!
- I (10/5): The location is good and room arrangement is lovely. - The location is good and room arrangement is lovely. None
- Goran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goran (10/5): comfortable and welcomed host - everything is fine. Our host Daniela helped us a lot. always there for us for every question that we had.
- Brian (8/5): Very good - Location No clothes hanging facilities
- Eve (9/5): Lovely appartement in a lovely place ! - Appartement very well located and clean.
The owner Daniela is always available for any questions.
- Taru (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location and the flat felt like home! This will certainly be our first choice to stay in next time in Athens. Daniela was very lovely even we had a slight problem collecting the key due to internet connection not working on our devices. And of course that was not her fault. Felt very welcome :-) Thank you Daniela! All the best for winter! Absolutely nothing. Spot on!
- Agnytė (10/5): Wonderful place for vacation - The location of the apartment was in a wonderful place in Plaka. All the visited objects are easily accessible on foot. It takes a few minutes to reach the Acropolis. It takes just a few minutes to reach souvenir or grocery stores, as well and taverns where you can have a delicious meal. The landlady Daniela is great, she let us to check in earlier as we arrived earlier due to an early flight. -
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Ildus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dejan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonas (1/5): not a good experience - the location is good the flat is very basic. the bedroom has an unusable window because there’s a strong kitchen smell coming from the courtyard. I had to argue with the manager to get one sheet per person because we are not used to sharing a sheet. she was very rude and argued with me.
