• Barbara (6/5): - This hotel was not what I was expecting as an overall The street it’s located on is not maintained and when first arriving at hotel its entrance is not apparent or desirable-there is a metal locked gate over door. It app. I booked the EXPERIENCE SUITE for 4 nights and it was nothing more than a bigger room… no suite. No chair or sofa. No where for luggage…Nothing more than one small bench to place a little bag on and a few hangers but no where else to put clothes. There weren’t any towel hooks in the bathroom and the only plug for hairdryer was outside bathroom. The websites note the rooms are soundproof but they are not quiet at all. The hotel is astedically pleasing but the hall floors and steps are metal grates and we were woken up from the noise every night. Additionally the trash/recycle truck had stops at the street outside hotel every night. The street it’s located on is not maintained and when first arriving at hotel its entrance is not apparent or desirable-there is a metal locked gate over door. It appears to be a vacant building like the surrounding buildings. Once you get inside the staff is minimal. Usually just one person per shift -and the hotel does not have night staff so if you need something like a wake-up call or ice you cannot get these basics. The staff was not very knowledgeable about the city with no information available as to tours or excursions available from Sotheby’s. They had to google or make calls for everything and get back to us.

Area was hard to find at first but very walkable to other sections of Athens that are are quiet nice and busy. Lots of restaurants near by and easily accessible to ruins.

The room was similarly unique and the rooftop common area gave outstanding views of Athens and the Acropolis. Very convenient to walk wherever we needed to go. The staff was friendly and very helpful. This was an outstanding stay and a super value. Would recccomend to anyone visiting Athens.

Cleaners are marvellous. Breakfast is to die for and the pool is so welcome. Hip and trendy neighbourhood and close to the culture and history Athens has to offer in abundance . AMAZING!!!!
• GERALDINE (10/5): - This gem of a hotel is in a wonderful location for sightseeing. Historic with an industrial feel (that's why we chose it) we opted for a rooftop terrace room which was extremely comfortable and spacious enough for our 5 night stay. Reading previous reviews I knew there were no storage drawers (which would be beneficial) but we asked for additional hangers in advance to rectify this issue. All the staff were welcoming, friendly & professional. The big portioned breakfasts were delicious and the option of dining on the rooftop for fabulous views, or inside under the vaulted ceiling on ground floor was perfect. Only minor 'downside' for us was that the pool was absolutely freezing. I know European hotels do not heat their pools, but as it was inside it did not have the heat of the sun to warm it slightly, as a result I had to bail within 5 minutes, which I felt was a shame, but this personal preference would not stop me visiting again or recommending the Asomaton. I would sum it up as a 'wonderful quirky hotel with first class service at a reasonable price' perfect for your Athens adventure!

• Nancy (10/5): - We loved that this hotel is across the street from a bus stop that easily takes you into the city centre, or is a simple walk down the street from all major squares in Athens. The staff here were very helpful and friendly, and checked if museums and laundry areas were open for us on a holiday. We had a very small ant issue that staff immediately dealt with for us (after which we never had an issue again). Breakfast was delicious, which you have to pre-order the day before, and we took it on the rooftop with an incredible view! The room was also equipped with the best shower we've experienced in a long time! The hotel advertises their rooms as soundproof, but we found this not to be the case. However, the room is equipped with free earplugs and we travel with our own anyway to sleep at night. Just beware that everyday outside traffic & hotel foot traffic noise does seep into your room. We did not have an issue with this.

The hotel has a rooftop terrace with views of the Acropolis. Amazing place for watching the sun go down and the lights come on the Parthenon. Wonderful breakfast and the staff is wonderful!

Hotel Asomaton was a delightful end with great support, a wonderful breakfast on the rooftop terrace with its view of the Acropolis and attentive staff. It is a reasonable walk to all the major sights. We would stay there again.

The breakfast was fantastic, with the option of taking it in your room, in the lovely lobby area, or the lovely rooftop terrace with stunning views! We were recommended 5 restaurants close by and were able to try 4 of them and they were all very good. I recommend Asomaton to anyone looking for a a unique boutique hotel experience!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Amazing location, very close to the city centre, historical sites, flea market and metro stations! The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Nest room, which was clean and comfortable. There were a few things we missed there, such as a storage unit for clothes (had to keep everything in the suitcase as nowhere to unpack), a full-length mirror (the only mirror in the room is in the bathroom) and some hooks in the bathroom to hang towels etc. Otherwise great value and delicious breakfasts!

• Melinda (10/5): Comfortable and Convenient - We arrived late at night but were emailed clear instructions on how to smother hotel and access our room. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, answering many questions we had. Our favorite thing was the delicious breakfast on the rooftop! This is a wonderful little gem that is very convenient to the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, and other attractions. Walk a few yards in any direction and there is a wide choice of restaurants.

My only complaint would be that we could have used a chair in the room (although we did move the chairs from the balcony inside). Would absolutely reccommend!

• Mohammad (10/5): A hidden gem! - When I first arrived and looked at the hotel from the outside I thought I must have made a mistake booking here. But as soon as set foot into the hotel my image completely changed. With every step I took I discovered the amount of effort given to detail and could only appreciate the designer extensive and artistic work! The staff were kind and professional. My room was on the third floor. The furniture was simple but served the purpose well I could have done with a pillow that is a bit more firm. The breakfast was out of this world. The portions were a bit too much for me. But again, it demonstrated how much attention was given to quality and detail. I highly recommend this hotel especially since it’s close to many attractions.
• Emma (10/5): Perfect for sightseeing and impeccable service - We decided to split our journey home from Crete with a couple of days in Athens. The building is quirky and very well finished, the room was fantastic and the bed was very very comfortable. The breakfast was so good and taken on the roof terrace with the most spectacular views of Athens and the Acropolis was a highlight. We were able to walk everywhere from the very central location and even though the area around looks a little tatty it was still very clean and felt safer than similar areas in most cities I have visited. Our plan is to come again next year when we take our winter/spring holiday in Crete even if it's just for a night it's worth it.

Roof top lounge and breakfast area is perfect with amazing views! The pool area is small (and the water a little chilly) but it’s such a good vibe. The breakfast is included and is beyond anything you’ll see at most high end hotels and you can enjoy in your room or on the roof! Just wow! Stay here!!!

They fulfilled all of our requests and answered all of our questions. Their attention to every detail is unmatched. We ordered breakfast to be delivered to our room. Every morning it was delivered at the exact time we asked for and every day it was delicious! Our room was cleaned every day by housekeeping; clean towels, sheets, and a clean room. We absolutely recommend this hotel and its staff highly. We will be back!!

They noted that we had an early flight so offered to leave a "carry-away" breakfast for us at the front desk since we would miss the complimentary breakfast buffet. They also gave great suggestions for restaurants. Most importantly, they made us feel very welcome and appreciated. The room was comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The rooftop desk has stunning views of the Acropolis and other parts of Athens. I will definitely stay here again.

We did not go in the pool, it was tiny and located near the lobby. If you don't want to be caught in the crowds at night time, get a bottle of wine and sit on the rooftop and look at the acropolis.

Breakfast on the first morning was good, but the 2nd morning the staff were very disorganized and we had wait almost an hour for our breakfast, which was cold. Location was very good but on a main road so a little bit noisy. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the staff need better training, they appeared very inexperienced.

• Ricardo (10/5): - We stayed for 7 days and it was fantastic. The location is perfect, not far from the nitty gritty of old Athens and far enough for peace and relaxation. We stayed on the ground, very convenient but on the small side which is typical Europe. A no frill room, basic and spartan. Water pressure was great as well as the shower. The shower floor dries really quick. We’re wondering if it’s the stone material used. Amazing pocket garden. Breakfast was wonderful that u could mix and match for variety. And of course, their selling point was the view of Acropolis on the roof top. Friendly and helpful staff.Big kudos to you guys! The pool was merely an attraction. The water was cold and directly from the reception area. But nice touch. Definitely will stay here again.

Staff were helpful, the hotel was clean and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The roof terrace was a delightful place to eat, read or sunbathe, whilst enjoying views of the Acropolis. I loved this hotel.

• Clinton (10/5): - Modern hotel with stylish touches, like the steel see through stairs, and exposed concrete. The plunge pool was fantastic after a hot day exploring Athens. Staff we’re very friendly, and the included breakfast was bountiful. Walkable to acropolis and sights. Great stay!
• Anna-Lise ter (10/5): - The Asomaton is a beautifully designed and restored boutique property near many Athenian treasures. I stayed in the Experience Suite which was very spacious and had a balcony with a view to the Acropolis. The rooftop breakfast in the morning was delicious and very generous - Johannes does an excellent job hosting! The only thing to be aware of is that because of the special design of the interior metal staircase, there is significant noise transfer. Earbuds are provided to alleviate this (and they certainly help) but it was astonishing how loud some of the other guests could be clomping up and down the stairs to breakfast in the morning. (Maybe they had baby elephants in tow??) All that to say, I would stay here again next time I’m lucky enough to be in Athens!
• Alasdair (10/5): Great boutique hotel - Once we found the hotel (it is an old wheel rights shop and looks closed with a very small hanging sign) the welcome was great. We had a ground floor room which was lovely. The only issue we had was poor bathroom lighting and wobbly stepping stones to reach the room. The Breakfast was very good served on the roof top area with lovely views of the Acropolis . If you don't have a head for heights don't use the stairs as they are made of open lattice metal and even a glass walkway! The lift works well though. The hotel is within easy walking distance of good restaurants and bars and the train station is not far away. We enjoyed our stay and will book again for a trip next year.
• Alison (10/5): Great hotel in a perfect location - We loved this hotel. A group of 8 of us stayed here for 2 nights after a cruise. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Walking distance to lots of bars, restaurants, shops and the acropolis, which you can see from their roof terrace. Staff are very helpful. Yota checked us in and helped book our Acropolis tour. The indoor pool is ideal after a hot day out and about in Athens. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed it on the roof terrace. So much food and a great selection to chose from. They even supplied breakfast bags for us to take with us for our early morning tour. Highly recommend this hotel.

• SUSAN (10/5): - Very nice property. Loved that it was a remodeled older building. Everything was clean and well thought out. It was a lovely place to come after a day in the city. The plants/gardens were so inviting, the roof top had a wonderful view and the pool was a treat. The breakfast was delicious too! We loved our stay!

• Jose (10/5): - What an amazing time we had! The service is impeccable! They are willing to go above and beyond for your needs. They were so helpful with absolutely everything we needed. Breakfast was absolutely amazing! I honestly couldn't wait for the mornings to have fresh breakfast at my door. The location is perfect, close to everything including transportation, and so many dining options within walkable distance. The only downside is there's lots of outside noise, they do provide sleeping masks and earbuds. Pool/hot tub is by reception area , but we didn't use it. If renting a car parking lot nearby (silk oil) is about 12 euros daily. Beautiful roof top with an amazing view of Acropolis. I honestly could go on and on , so just book it! You'll love it, and I'd stay here again if visiting.

• Kathleen (10/5): Incredible Asomaton - The staff was absolutely fantastic: friendly, incredibly helpful, and so personable. Breakfast was delicious, made even better by being served in your choice of locations - your room, inside, or on the rooftop with a view of the Acropolis. I LOVED Asomaton!

• Calum (10/5): - Amazing from start to finish. 5 out of 5. Only negative was the rooms pick up a lot of noise from throughout the hotel. Had to ask a group of people to be quiet nicely at 1am as the room was picking up everything and early risers or late arrives can be quiet noisy too. Breakfast fantastic, views were amazing.
• KOSTAKI G (10/5): Super Athens hotel - Great location with super nice staff and best breakfast ever. Terrace rooftop view of Acropolis is stunning where you can have your breakfast. Great place if you want to ne near Monastiraki metro station and shopping down Ermou street. Definite hotel to return to!!!

The location is perfect, within walking distance of the best neighborhoods in Athens, including the Acropolis. The taxi service the hotel arranged from the airport was reasonably priced and in a beautiful Mercedes van.
• Lourdes (10/5): - Great hotel just a few minutes from most attractions We had a room in the last floor with the view to the Acropolis and that was a priceless experience to go to bed with such great view The beds and pillows were super comfortable and everything in the room was super clean and nice. There is a small fridge in case u need to get cold drinks The breakfast was included and OMG it was so good and huge , from yogurts, fruit, eggs, cheese, bread , juice, cappuccino- with all that there was no need for lunch . And the breaks view to the Acropolis from the rooftop was a super great way to start the day The staff was super friendly and helpful- check in was easy The location is in an upcoming neighborhood - just outside the main tourist attractions like the Agora but close enough to walk. Also lost nightlife very close and a nice restaurant area Supermarket walking distance Truly recommend this hotel

• Liana (10/5): - Highly recommend choosing the “Acropolis Loft with Balcony” room. The view was stunning as we had direct views of the acropolis and the design of the hotel is very unique. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient. It’s situated close to public transport, a number of restaurants, the acropolis and downtown. The staff working at this hotel is extremely friendly and gave us amazing suggestions on where to eat.

We loved the atmosphere; the hotel and room was beautiful. It has a very modern and natural feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel, and would book here again if we visit Athens in the future!
• Sara (10/5): - If you’re looking for friendly and personalized service, this is the place for you. We stayed in a terrace room which was perfect for two. The view of the acropolis from the rooftop terrace was great and it’s only a 20 minute walk to the Acropolis. Ermou street, which is filled with restaurants and shops is steps away and the surrounding neighborhood has tons of interesting options for food or drink. We would highly recommend staying in this beautiful hotel while in Athens.

• Mary (10/5): Even better than the pictures! - We absolutely loved this hotel! Besides being incredibly charming, it was comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast, served up on the rooftop deck with panoramic views, was generous and very tasty. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. We might have to return to Athens so we can stay there again.
• Mark (4/5): - Although the hotel design is nice, we did not enjoy a comfortable stay. The room was too noisy at night, too bright (no blackout curtains, just shades), and too warm! There was no way to turn on AC, so the choices were to be too hot or open the windows and let it more noise from the street. We reserved a spot for breakfast one day but were not seated because other guests has overstayed their time slot?? Location is good but I advise not staying here if you value a comfortable night’s sleep.
