- Meander28896153531 (10/5): Wonderful Experience - We really enjoyed our stay at World House Boutique Hotel Galata. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and having a charming little coffee shop right downstairs was such a nice bonus. I especially want to mention Erakan - he was incredibly helpful the entire time. He carried several of our heavy suitcases up three flights of stairs, which we appreciated more than he probably realizes. His kindness really stood out. Overall, it was a great place to stay and we’d happily come back.
- Dibfamily4 (10/5): Stairway to views - We stayed at the World House Galata Hotel in Istanbul for seven nights and were lucky enough to book the top-floor room with a small balcony overlooking the Galata Tower. Loved this view especially at night with the lights on. Our room had two queen-size beds in separate sections, two chairs for relaxing and reading inside the room, a safe, the bathroom up a few steps off near one of the beds. We didn’t mind the call to prayer from the nearby minaret, and we enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the street below,. The hotel was clean, the shower is good, and the location was in the middle of the Galata area with multiple options for cafes and restaurants. We had coffee and afternoon tea in the café downstairs, where hotel guests get a generous discount. A big thank you to the staff, who were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful with restaurant recommendations.
- pheef6 (10/5): Outstanding service, spotless and comfortable rooms and friendly atmosphere - Ideally located, walking distance from historic places. Room spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Best of all - the staff were outstanding. Every person I dealt with was friendly and extremely efficient and helpful. I want to especially mention Erkan, Ismail, Murat and Boncuk. In the cafe at the entrance to the hotel, I was always greeted warmly by Eren and Irem. And they serve the best cheesecake in the world! Whenever I entered the hotel, I felt welcomed and it was like "coming home" - this is very important to an older woman travelling alone. I chose this hotel on the strong recommendations of my son (Adam Fletcher) and his wife Sarah, and my travel agent friend, Sherry Marks. They all stayed here in recent months and insisted I stay here too. I'm very glad that I did - it was a great experience.

- tina (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay here. The location was central, close to the old town, public transportation and the ferries and trams. The coffee shop was very good and a lot of shopping nearby. The room was comfortable with a fridge and very small safe. The staff were excellent, very helpful with dining suggestions, booking airport transfers and just getting around. A good value small hotel.
- ALISON (10/5): - The hotel has been sympathetically renovated and is very tasteful. My room was just as advertised. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel is in a central location near the Galata Tower. There are many gift shops and cafes on the same street as the hotel. The new Cat Museum (charming) is just round the corner, and the Dervish Museum is just up the hill. The ferries are about a 10 minute walk away, as are the Galata Bridge and the restaurants and shops around Beyoglu. The hotel is also close to the Tunel, the funiculaire which runs up and down the hill.

The in house coffee shop with resident cat was a very nice bonus. Rooms were excellent and well sound proofed so no noise from the street was heard. Would highly recommend people stay here for their trip to Istanbul.

The cafe has great coffee and food. I generally stay at Soho House but they were booked. What a surprise this hotel turned out to be. The hotel is on par with Soho and the price can't be beat! Don't hesitate to book.

The room was spacious, clean, and had a cute boutique feel, though the photos online made it seem more upscale than it really is. It was quite warm when we first arrived, but the AC worked well once it was on. The balcony was underwhelming—it’s small and looks directly into an office building, which meant keeping the curtains closed most of the time. The advertised city/garden view felt misleading. The bathroom was modern with good water pressure, but the showerhead needed a more thorough cleaning. I didn’t expect full luxury amenities from a 3-star, but small touches like robes would have made it feel more special. On the plus side, the location is excellent: right on a lively street with shops and restaurants nearby. Overall, a decent choice if you want a central spot and don’t mind the boutique quirks, but not the place if you’re after luxury.

The room was clean, cute, and very spacious, though the online photos make it look more luxurious than it really is. The balcony was disappointing: it’s small and faces directly into an office building with people working late, so we had to keep the curtains closed. Instead of the city/garden view suggested, it overlooked the coffee shop below and the building’s stairs. The shower was nice, though the showerhead could have been cleaner. No robes were provided — not necessarily expected for a 3-star, but would have been a nice touch. The biggest plus is the location: right on a lively shopping street with restaurants nearby. Overall, a decent value for the price, but definitely more “charming boutique” than luxury.

World House Boutique Hotel is set in a historic neighbourhood lined with great shops, bars and restaurants. The property is aching cool, sophisticated and wonderfully furnished. Think Shoreditch meets Istanbul! It is a few steps from the Galata Tower and a few minutes walk from the banks of the Bosporus. The perfect location to explore. The icing on the cake was the staff. All the team were friendly and incredibly helpful. Five gold stars and thanks to everyone. Utterly superb. Highly recommended!!!

Because it's in the heart of the action, it can be loud at times, but we didn't mind and thought the location and design of the hotel was well worth the tradeoffs. The front desk staff treated us like family and made sure we were well cared for. We walked everywhere from here - the location truly cannot be beat. The hotel has no elevator, so you need to be able to climb stairs. Highly recommend!

Lots of activity, rstaurants and cafes everywhere. Feels very safe ( our second stay in this neighbourhood).. The World House staff are extremely caring and helpful without the formality of bigger hotels. We loved our stay there.

- susie1927 (10/5): A hidden gem! - Highly recommended! The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location (worth exploring the side streets). Lovely rooms with modern decor, and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a terrace room with a fantastic view of the Galata Tower and across to the east. While there is no elevator, the stairs are easy to navigate and the staff insisted on helping out with the bags. I cannot speak highly enough of the entire World House team!

The beds are pretty good -- not great, but better than many places in this price range. However, the best thing about World House is without a doubt their excellent staff. I've stayed in many much more expensive hotels around the world, many of them 5-star places, and the World House staff rates right at the top of any hotel I've stayed at. And some of the rooms have a killer view of Galata Tower. You can't go wrong at World House.

- Curt (8/5): Nice location (especially if you want a 5:15 wake - Great location. Very friendly staff. This is a VERY small hotel. Only real issue, which is outside the hotel’s control, is that it is right next to a mosque, which blares the morning call to prayer over loudspeakers at sunrise every day, which was 5:12am when we visited. It goes on for a long time and is impossible to sleep through. Beware if you don’t plan to get up at that time.

The hotel is smack and in the middle of Galata area with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport links. The staff are super helpful and kind and the rooms are comfortable, stylish and clean as well as being exceptional value for money. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a good value boutique option in a lively area. To note - as it’s well located in a busy area the streets were a little noisy at night esp on Fri and Saturday and it’s also located next door to a mosque but I love to hear the call to prayer so this didn’t bother me.

It’s got a very chilled relaxed vibe despite being in the heart of the busy Galata area. There’s no restaurant on site but they own a fabulous coffee shop on the ground floor which is a great spot for your morning coffee and croissant. The staff were all fantastic - couldn’t do enough to help us and ensure we had a truly memorable stay. 100% recommend.

The location is incredibly convenient, situated close to all major tourist spots, cafes, and restaurants. It made exploring Istanbul so easy and enjoyable. Inside the hotel, there's an adorable coffee shop with some of the best coffee we've had—definitely a highlight! The staff were exceptional—so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Since there’s no elevator, they assisted us a lot with our luggage, which was a huge relief. They even greeted us with a welcome drink and later helped us arrange a transfer to the airport. Additionally, they gave us great recommendations for places to visit around the hotel, making our trip even more memorable. Our room was fantastic: modern, spotless, and with fresh flower bouquets that added a lovely touch. Plus, the view of the Galata Tower from our window was simply stunning! We’ve stayed here twice during our visits to Istanbul and will definitely be back—it’s now our favorite hotel in the entire city. Transfers to and from the airport were super easy to arrange and checkin was a dream. Ismail the lead manager is simply brilliant and will be able to help you with absolutely anything! I most certainly will be returning to this hotel - hopefully for more than 1 night as there is plenty to do in Istanbul.

On the ground floor is the (excellent) coffee house, which is open starting at 8 in the morning. Good location, two blocks from Sishane metro and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Thoughtful and attractive design features in the hotel--walk in showers, frosted glass panel doors to bathroom, a hot water kettle. Baskets of apples. Desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Our room was quiet with the windows closed. Reception personnel are kind and responsive. we both would stay here again.
- jyslau (10/5): Could not have asked for a better stay in Istanbul - This is the same review I posted on Booking.com. My husband and I spent two nights in another hotel in Sultanahmet and thought the hospitality there was amazing. It pales in comparison to World House Boutique Hotel. Entering an unassuming doorway, we were not expecting much but immediately Ismail greeted us and gifted us complimentary teas/coffee/lemonade etc. from their cafe, while he checked us in. This really felt like an oasis of calm from the hustle bustle of the street outside, and afterwards Ismail gave us some information about the surrounding areas and also made genuine conversation, which we greatly appreciated. Ismail helped us take our luggage to our third floor room. I was filled with joy to see the snacks/fruit/tea in our room as well as complimentary soda's in the fridge but particularly impressed by the L'Occitane toiletries. There is a mosque (camii) next door and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the dawn azhan (call to prayer) even though it woke us up early. The next morning, we had the pleasure to meet Murat who ordered a chocolate sahlep and turpentine coffee for us to go, whilst sharing important ferry times which helped us catch the ferry to Adalar. After a very tiring day, we returned and the room had been cleaned spotlessly. After a shower we wanted to have a San Sebastian cake downstairs as it's 50% for guests. We called reception, and Ismail informed us that it closes at 22:30 (in one hour) but also to come down as he would like to offer a gift. We were treated to teas and the San Sebastian cake that I wanted! Sometimes in hospitality you can feel that staff are just being nice because it is their job, but Ismail is special because his hospitality transcended that and I felt that he and my husband were having genuine conversation, impressively in Arabic! Finally, as if that was not enough, Ismail offered us a late checkout. We heard a knock shortly after returning to the third floor, and it was Ismail with two Turkish towels tied with evil eye beads, a gift for us. Thank you, Ismail!
- Jennifer (8/5): - Charming small hotel in central location. We had a deluxe room on the 4th floor (401) with ‘partial sea view’ and balcony. The room was small, the balcony was nice but there is no sea view. It’s also important to call out that there is no elevator so we had to climb 79 steps up and down each time we left the room. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We would recommend the hotel but suggest requesting a room on a lower floor if you have any health or other concerns related to the stairs and skip the partial sea view room option.

- Misty (8/5): - This boutique hotel is located in the bustling, vibrant Galata area. The room was perfect for my husband, myself, and my teenaged daughter, with a separate sitting area with twin bed for her. The room was mostly quiet except for call to prayer, which does happen in the middle of the night but didn’t really bother us. Also one night there was a party in the building across from us which was loud. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They organized travel from the airport and laundry service both of which were reasonably priced. The only problem is that the air conditioning units didn’t work well and it was incredibly hot in Istanbul when we were there. Also the coffe shop downstairs had limited options for breakfast. All in all it was a good hotel for a good price.

- Sanjeev (8/5): - You cannot beat this location in the middle of Gelata. Walk about 7-8 mins to the tram station to connect to the main areas as well. Sultanahmet is 4 stops away and iskitlal street is 5 mins from the hotel too. However, the property has no lift and the rooms are a bit cramped and infrastructure is old and needs to be done up for sure.

The rooms are modern, well decorated, and comfortable, but the best aspect is the service from the team. They go above and beyond to help you during your stay, and it's so nice returning to their welcoming faces and a cozy but busy coffee shop. Feels much more like a neighborhood experience than other hotels. Excellent location for walking around, lots of restaurants and bars, and we even had a leisurely walk back from the Old City. We were 2 friends traveling, but I would return as a solo female traveler too. The coffee shop stays open late and feels safe and welcoming to come back to + the hotel staff

Walkable access to the Grand Bazaar and Taksim square (if you don’t mind getting a few steps in). The coffee shop on the first floor is amazing. The biggest highlight is the staff. They were exceedingly helpful, and assisted us in getting our luggage, which was lost in transit by the airline. 10/10 recommend staying here.

We stayed in the attic room which was on the 3rd floor and perfectly adequate for a comfortable nights sleep after a busy days exploring. Note - bring your own booze - there is no bar in the hotel, and this is not suitable for anyone that has mobility issues as it is located on a steep hill and there is no lift inside the building.

- Taw Ai (8/5): - Being a boutique hotel, a little hard to locate when we tell our taxi drivers but it is very well-located, very near Galata tower and Istikal shopping areas. We stayed here for 3 nights on 2nd & 3rd floor ( family of 4), no lift access and weak wifi connection. Then we returned for 1 more night after touring Cappadocia & Antalya, we got first floor, good wifi but there is noise from street. Room are clean and newly furnished with modern aesthetics look. They offer l'occitane toiletries. Staff speak good English and are able to make good recommendations to nearby restaurants.

It’s an old building but nicely renovated to make it comfortable while keeping its charm. Friendly staff and very helpful made our stay pleasant. The front disk staff (Ergin) was very attentive to our needs, his resturant recommendations were excellent. The hotel has a coffee shot at front and the staff were very pleasant. In terms of location this was within a busy street but if you close windows it is quite, the location made it easy to make the most out of our short time as it is walkable to Galata tower (1 minute ), Istiklal street with all the shops and restaurants (5 minutes). We booked their shuttle from the airport which was great and reasonably priced. Overall we had a great time
