• Alanna (4/5): Book somewhere else if you can - this place is average at best, but it’s more affordable in a decent location. - Good location, was sufficient bedding for what we needed. Cleanliness could be better - we found a handful of hair still on the shower wall when we arrived. Host - unresponsive via booking.com chat. Numerous enquiries left with no response (keys, bag storage, checkout, etc). Keys - ONLY 1 KEY PROVIDED. This is problematic when the accommodation is only for 6 people. Made planning and coordinating our stay in NYC very difficult. 2 toilet paper rolls only provided - not sufficient for an 8 day stay here for 6 people. Had to purchase more. Lift - was out of operation 3 times whilst we stayed here on the 6th floor. Only 1 towel per person provided - could provide face washers or a spare towel (again 6ppl x 8 days, this seems skint, but sufficient to work with) Scammed for $365AUD MORE on day for payment!! Booking.com advised it was this Host’s setup, however host blamed booking.com for the price hike (after we had reserved the accom for the advertised price and we paid by the date due for payment…)

The stupid security guard is clueless what he is doing . Made us wait for no reason while chit chatting on the phone and then he says if you don’t know your room number I can’t check you in . Basically he was trying to give our room to standby people who were willing to pay more I guess.

• Marcelo (7/5): Ok-ish for the price - Great location, close to the subway and with many food and entertainment options nearby (it's in Times Square). Room was quiet at night, and beds were relatively comfortable for a single person. Host was friendly and allowed us to late checkout for a small extra fee. We had a great time in NY and don't regret booking it. It's an old building and the bathroom was very very small, a bit uncomfortable for a tall guy. Also, the curtains did not completely shut, so a lot of light passed through it no matter how we adjusted it, waking us up early in the morning. The reception staff made us take the stairs down to leave our luggage there (not sure why they did not let us leave it at the floor level or use the elevator as the luggage was clearly heavy..).

The building was incredibly noisy, the walls were very thin, the elevators broke, so we had to take the stairs from the fifth floor with our heavy suitcases and the whole place just had a terrible vibe. I would never stay there.

• Catherine (10/5): Super friendly, helpful and easy to communicate. - My flight was arriving late in the evening but my friends were there earlier. Our host allowed my friends to check in for me and was very helpful. The front desk staff was great and super friendly. All of them. The host replied to all of my messages and questions quickly with good information and made us feel very welcome. We had 5 girls in the room and while it was a little tight, we expected it and there was plenty of room for us all to be comfortable. We ranged from 24-26 yrs old and were going out alot so if you need more mirror room, bring one and possibly one with a light. The room was clean and had good towels and bedding. The location was my favorite out of all the places I've stayed in the city. You are close to the subway and plenty to do! Great food, shopping, and bars all around, there's a coffee store right beside the door! Overall, GREAT value for the money, not luxury, but perfect for a laid back group looking for a good place to stay for a weekend trip! The shower was tricky. The water was either scolding hot or really cold. We eventually found a point that the water temperature was comfortable but it only lasted about a minute before getting cold again, then you'd have to go back to really hot then move it again. We figured out a way to make it work. Still overall, would stay again!

The beds were hard and uncomfortable and there were no wash rags, but for the price we made it work! Outside we heard the city (especially Saturday night), but we knew this wasn't luxury when we purchased it....

I would have liked chairs (even folding ones) instead of stools for some comfort and back support, but that’s just from a personal perspective.

I liked that there were options for keeping our bags after check out on the property. The process of having to email the host for every request and the lack of streamlined communication between the host and the reception desk was extremely inconvenient.

The room was really small for the number of people we were, so it was kind of hard to move inside. Besides that it's pretty good if you're going to spend the whole day exploring the city and just need a place to sleep.

Mais dans l’ensemble, la situation de cet endroit est parfait pour les gens qui veulent être dans le cœur de l’action. Même si la chambre est un peu petite nous l’avons appréciée.

It took a second to find the key to the studio, so it would be helpful to include instructions in the future. But both the host and the receptionist were very helpfu, so it didn't take long to resolve the situation.

• Amy (8/5): - Great location! Easy walk to Penn Station and Herald Square for transportation. Local stores and dining. However, the noise level was a bit much even for NYC. You could hear every sound from the street at all hours of the night. The kitchenette was stocked with basic salt, pepper, sugar, plates and utensils. Microwave and fridge. Linens well atocked. Table for two and all beds. There was a public bathroom on the floor we were on. Which was convenient. For the price it was a great stay in NYC.
• Shannon (6/5): In need of repair and cleaning - The location was great and reception was nice. The room was dirty. It is in need of a deep clean and a lot of maintenance. I did contact the host and they sent someone to reclean but they still missed the obvious things that needed to be wiped down. Like the toliet :( She said cleanliness was a top priority but it is definitely lacking. There was dried pee dripping down the toliet. Someones dried contact on the sink, and just a layer of dust and dirt around the rest. The toilet seat was loose, the sink looked like it was falling off and did not drain. An outlet has remnants of a fire. The beds were clean but only a thin blanket is provided. There is also only one key which caused a problem because we had to groups of adults that were at times doing two different things. I would not recommend especially for the price.
• Deborah (8/5): - This accommodation was a great value budget room. Staff at reception friendly, location was great perfect for our needs. I think I got what I paid for, it is basic hostel style rooms. We had a suite so had private bathroom and kitchen area, I was very glad of this from my peak round the door of the communal bathroom. Our room was clean and well equipped. The only problem we had and I’m afraid a deal breaker for me is the hot water, or lack of! I’d read in other reviews it was a bit hit and miss. Our experience was it was ok in the early morning after letting it run through for at least 2 to 3 mins but never managed a hot or even slightly warm shower anytime after 7pm. Water stone cold in bathroom and kitchen in evenings.

• Jerome Francis (8/5): - The location was good to get around NYC as long as you accept and go by the big city street people (not homeless) hanging around consistently along the street. The room was basic and sometimes hot water would be lost for a few minutes before it came back on again. The laundry room requires a $10 purchase of a laundry card in order to use the machines. There isn't a daily room cleaning. The internet in the room never fully worked. But overall, the place was what was expected and offered a relatively clean and safe place to rest while exploring NYC and visiting friends. NYC was wonderful and energetic as ever with Penn Station at Madison Sq Garden and the 34th street subway entrance nearby. Nearby K-town was fun to see up close also and H-Mart there was very convenient to buy groceries as needed.
