- falleninl (10/5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Grand Cosmopolitan Hotel Dubai – A Place Where Smiles Live - Some hotels are comfortable. Some hotels are luxurious. And then there are hotels that make you feel happy the moment you walk in. Grand Cosmopolitan Hotel Dubai belongs to the third kind. From the very first moment, this hotel felt special. The check-in process was incredibly smooth and welcoming. The Duty Manager (I truly regret forgetting his name) was outstanding — friendly, professional, understanding, and most importantly, warm. What stood out immediately was his smile. It wasn’t forced or formal. It was genuine. And that smile was not just his — it belonged to the entire hotel. Smiles That Make the Difference Every single staff member we encountered smiled. Every time. And that, in my experience, is the difference between a good hotel and a great hotel. Grand Cosmopolitan clearly understands this. Rooms & A Personal Welcome A special thank you to Nadia, who escorted us to the room and explained everything so clearly and eloquently. She took her time, made us feel comfortable, and ensured we knew exactly how everything worked. It felt personal, not rushed. The room itself was excellent — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. Concierge – Going Above and Beyond The concierge team deserves heartfelt appreciation, especially Mohammed. I needed to send a courier back home, and not only did he kindly arrange everything, but the team kept checking on it and followed up until it was done. I handed the parcel over and felt completely at ease — that level of care is rare and deeply appreciated. Housekeeping – Professional and Respectful Housekeeping was another highlight. Every morning, the team politely checked whether we wanted service instead of assuming. Courteous, professional, and respectful — exactly how it should be. Breakfast – Good, With Room to Grow Breakfast was good overall, though it could be improved slightly. At one point, I was waiting for a sauce for a while, but a kind lady noticed and immediately helped me — she even made a fresh dosa for me. That gesture alone turned the moment into something memorable. Thank you. Location & Accessibility The hotel is centrally located — not right in downtown, but perfectly positioned with easy access to Downtown Dubai, Jumeirah, and beyond. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus (with prior booking), which is a thoughtful and generous service for guests. Final Thoughts I genuinely tried to find faults — and I couldn’t. Everything worked smoothly. Everything felt thoughtful. Most importantly, everyone felt human. Thank you to the management, thank you to the team, and thank you to every staff member who smiled and made this stay special. Grand Cosmopolitan Hotel Dubai is not just a place to stay — it’s a place that makes you feel welcome. Highly recommended. Truly wonderful.

- ItchyFeetFever (4/5): Disappointing stay despite wonderful restaurant staff - needs some significant but easy improvements. - I am currently staying at this hotel and, unfortunately, the overall experience falls short of expectations—especially given the price point. Booking & Pre-Arrival Issues My stay was fully prepaid, as per the rate terms. However, the day before arrival I received an email stating that payment was still due along with an unexpected extra AED 1000. This turned out to be a mistake, but it caused unnecessary stress right before travelling. I also booked directly through the hotel’s own website because I prefer to support hotels directly than using intermediaries who charge a lot of commission to hotels. Unfortunately, the site repeatedly reverted to one guest even after selection of two, which I didn’t realise had happened again. Upon arrival, I was told the booking was only for one person, which resulted in additional charges for breakfast and half board—adding almost €250 to our stay. I fully accept my mistake, but the website design really contributed to the confusion, and some goodwill or flexibility at check-in would have gone a long way, especially when we were standing at reception with no real alternative but to pay what they demanded. My advice is book through a hotel booking platform for a much more customer friendly and transparent process to avoid similar mistakes, charges and distress. Check-In & Reception Experience Reception staff felt quite indifferent; no greetings when passing by and little warmth during interactions. We arrived early after a long overnight flight, and unlike every other Dubai hotel we’ve stayed in, we were not offered a complimentary breakfast. Instead, we were told we could pay or give up breakfast on our final morning. Again, small gestures make a big difference in hospitality, and it’s disappointing to see none offered here. Pre-arrival emails also took two days to get a reply each time, which made communication very slow and inconvenient. Dining & Value for Money This is our fifth visit to Dubai, and sadly this was the weakest dining experience. The buffet dinner changed themes each night, but outside of the theme there was nothing else available, making options very limited. And even if you over the theme it was still quite limited to perhaps three main course options. Everything is covered in salt and garlic so is quite tasteless and this always masks poor quality in gyro poor cooking in my experience - let customers add their own salt.For the cost (€250 per night), the quality and variety fell far below what we’ve experienced elsewhere. Breakfast and dinner charges were also higher than what was shown in the marketing emails I had received beforehand. Breakfast had a good selection on a more positive note. Facilities Pool: Small and cramped with no real view. Gym: Extremely hot—like a sauna—with no air conditioning, despite AC being everywhere else in the hotel, including the hallway right outside. Also no water provided in the gym. Overall it feels a bit tired and dated by comparison to the rest of the hotel. Poolside: No complimentary water. Every other Dubai hotel we’ve stayed in provided at least one bottle per day at the pool. Room: Very comfortable, well equipped, and housekeeping was excellent. Location: Close to the metro and convenient. Staff The real highlight of the hotel is the restaurant staff—they are wonderful, attentive, and a credit to the property. Their hospitality stood out in an otherwise mixed stay. JC, Sheena and Michael are wonderful, so hard working, friendly, always smiling and their desire to help even when really busy is so commendable. We wish we could take you to our next hotel :) Overall Impression There are some positives, but the combination of booking errors, unexpected charges, lack of hospitality gestures, limited dinner options, and several service-level gaps made the stay feel poor value for money compared to the many other fantastic hotels we’ve stayed at in Dubai. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return, which is a shame because with a few improvements this could have been a very different experience.

First, the rooms are amazing, really good space, a lot of amenities, really comfortable. The service quality was high, and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful – rich, fresh, and delicious. The cleanliness of the rooms was also excellent; everything was neat and well-maintained. However, I experienced a very unpleasant situation on the day I was checking out. I had an upcoming flight and was in a hurry to leave the hotel. At check-out, I requested the return of my **$100 deposit**, which I had given to the hotel earlier. Unfortunately, the receptionist repeatedly refused to return it, coming up with various **unjustified excuses**. At one point, they claimed I had ordered a salad; at another, they mentioned other services, which I had **never used**. In fact, **I only used the breakfast service** during my stay. Due to the limited time before my flight, I had no choice but to pay **304 AED by card at 05:21 AM**, after which I finally received my $100 deposit back and left the hotel. This kind of behavior is **unethical and unprofessional**, and it seriously affected my overall impression of the hotel. Despite the high quality of the facilities and services, what happened during check-out was deeply disappointing and should not happen to any guest. I hope that hotel management will properly investigate this incident and take the necessary steps to ensure such behavior is not repeated in the future. - Lizzy65 (10/5): A 5 star experience - I am currently staying at this hotel as a solo traveller and having the best experience. The location is perfect in Al Barsha. Close to local gift shops, supermarkets, and restaurants. It's an easy min walk to the Metro station, which I use daily. There's also a regular free shuttle bus to the Mall of Emirates and Jumeriah Beach. The rooftop pool area is fantastic, although it is too hot for me to use in the heat. There's also a gym, steam room, sauna and wellness spa. The breakfast buffet is fabulous with a good and varied selection of items across the world and. The breakfast staff are attentive and quick to replenish items and serve hot drinks. The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are lovely and spacious. All the staff are super friendly and helpful giving it a polished feel. It's very good value for a modern 5 star hotel in Dubai. This is its unique selling point, which would make me want to return here.

- vixer (8/5): Fabulous stay - For smallish hotel in the Al Barsha neighbourhood (so not really on the main drag or near big attractions - except perhaps the Mall of Emirates), this hotel punches above its weight. We stayed in a Grand Family Room and was mega impressed with its size and facilities. Separate shower and bath tub, could listen to the TV from the main room in the bath! Our kids loved having their own beds, in their own area even and the roof-roof-top pool was a hit. We had the breakfast included in our room rate and it was extensive and plentiful. Fantastic range and choice. Our kids loved having waffles with ice cream and all the toppings - for brekkie! One thing I'd say is that eating dinner at the hotel was not an option for us as the price was prohibitive. They had different foods represented each night i.e. Arabic, Asian, Italian, Seafood, etc. We ended up having to go to the malls for food. Dubai felt very safe to walk around (if you can manage the heat) but I didn't find much in the way of family eateries around the hotel area itself.

All the staff were so pleasant and polite. We stayed half board, breakfast was what you would expect, buffet style with an egg station, evening meal the same with pasta station, each evening was themed differently, Arabian, Italian, seafood etc, reasonable choice, didn’t suit us on a couple of occasions but that was down to our personal preference, quality of the food was good A dry hotel, but we found bars easy enough to find close by, lots of supermarkets in the area if anything was needed Overall a very good stay, would I recommend? Most definitely

I must call out Das maharaja restaurant manager who ran everything meticulously with a smile and was always there to help out. Also one of the chef’s Panda who was brilliant and very good and always greeted guests with a smile 2. Irfan who organised all the taxis for guests and always greeted us with a warm welcoming smile. He was great to get a car for us all the time. 3. The concierge team of Safeek, Aleksandra and Mohammed were excellent and always happy to go the extra mile in helping guests and just very top class. Safeek was.always there and helped me and my family on many occasions The room quality was excellent and very clean and spacious and even the steam room , gym, and sauna were all maintained to a very high level of quality. I honestly truly recommend the Grand Cosmopolitan as the best place we have stayed in Dubai and we are frequent travelers!!!!!

And you know you are staying in a 3-star hotel when profit margins dictate that they call someone to check the minibar before you leave, because they don't trust you. Clean, functional, works in a transactional way, but totally uninspiring and forgettable.

The hotel is located centrally to lots of activities that you would want to do whilst in Dubai. 5 minutes from the metro which was so handy for getting about. The hotel offers a free bus to the nearby mall and beach. However we did think that beach was great not much there wasn’t for us. There are better beaches. The pool is fantastic. House of pops vegan lollies for sale on the rooftop the bbq was fabulous held in a Saturday night. Staff were able to make milk free pancakes for my daughter. They did attempt deserts however these could have been better. Luckily we brought some dairy free chocolate with us. The Starbucks couldn’t cater for her food allergies either which was disheartening as the cakes looked fabulous. McDonald’s actually have raspberry macaroons that were ok sadly I found this out at the airport but you can order these on carrem. Room was really spacious. Huge bathroom. Amazing staff. Highly recommend. Location again was fabulous. Would definitely go back highly recommend.

Rooms - Very Spacious, Generous, Clean and a great size perfect Price - Absolutely bang on too, via booking.com, cannot complain at this at all, good value for Dubai. Location -situated in Al Barsha, which is traditionally for local residents and not really commercialised, which I preferred, lots of good value shops and restaurants in area too, you wont get ripped off. Location - no beach - but transport available for free to the Mall and JBR, also walking distance to metro. Location - Taxis are easy to get outside of hotel and cheap enough to the Palm, Business Bay and Marina (30 mins plus £10-15 Taxis) Food - Breakfast is quality and plentiful, good value too, continental and healthy options available. Reception - Helpful and informative The Pool - clean, plenty of beds, and does sell food and drinks priced reasonably (note no Alcohol, which isnt a big deal) The Gym - good size, clean, lots of free weights and cardio equipment, changing rooms have saunas, showers and wet rooms too, good clean and modern. Coffeshop - stocks Starbucks, nice little bonus. Meals - good value buffets available Al round a very solid hotel

Location - very central and near the metro, easy to get taxis, al ansari exchange next door, a lot of supermarket and restaurants including Hashmin BBQ, Sultan Al Arab and Laffa (all walking distance). 2. Facilities - our room is unbelievable! We love the beds, pillows, linens and the bathroom. We wanted to bring the linens home, so exquisite! The pool has a nice view and the hotel overall is always super clean, gives a very modern and luxurious feel. 3. People / Service - this is the best thing about this hotel - service and hospitality are topnotch. They always smile, greet and check us if we need anything. We were never disappointed at any time during our stay. Shout out to Hanna (duty manager), Mary, Aleksandra, and F&B staff Michael, Marco, JC, the one who cooks the omellete and serves the coffee and also the housekeeping staff assigned to 6F. They were awesome and truly made our stay absolutely fantastic! 4. Others - they also have a game room, free shuttle to MOE, jumeirah beach and Dubai Outlet Mall. Overall we had an amazing stay at Grand Cosmopolitan Hotel, highly recommended for families!

My concerns include allegations of racism, deficient customer service, archaic operational systems, and a general lack of courtesy. During a conversation with your staff, I personally experienced what I perceived as differential treatment towards ethnic minority guests, exemplified by an abrupt and unannounced call transfer. Furthermore, my mother reported a consistently unwelcoming atmosphere, characterized by a lack of basic acknowledgment from staff, which discouraged her from fully enjoying the hotel's facilities. I also noted several specific issues, such as the failure of in-room entertainment systems upon arrival, despite explanations that seemed illogical. Additionally, a request for basic amenities, including a fruit bowl, was not fulfilled. The condition of the steam room, with its hazardous flooring, was also concerning, as was the unusual practice of collecting tourism fees only upon checkout. The Eastern European composition of the staff also seemed to contribute to a lack of understanding and accommodation of diversity, compounded by communication barriers due to insufficient English proficiency. I would like to commend Michael from the breakfast area, who provided exceptional service and demonstrated genuine hospitality. His positive attitude was a stark contrast to the prevailing atmosphere, and I sincerely hope he finds an environment that values his contributions. In conclusion, I regret to say that I cannot recommend your hotel, particularly to guests of ethnic minority backgrounds. The experience was far below the expected standards of a five-star hotel. You are a two star hotel claiming the fabric of a five star. Do better.

- Jennings (10/5): - Great hotel close to the mall of emirates. The train station is only a couple of blocks away but taxi was our preferred method which we easily got at the hotel. The staff were incredible every time. Lots of food options around the area too.

Taxis were easy to catch as they frequented the hotel, though we mostly used the Careem app to book larger rides for our group of six. Our family room for three was spacious, with lots of storage and excellent soundproofing, making for peaceful nights. The hotel was very clean and modern, and the breakfast was a highlight—fresh, varied, and always delicious. Huge thanks to Michael, Marco, and Jessa, who greeted us with a smile each morning and had our preferences ready by the third day. Their warm, attentive service made a real difference. The tour desk staff was friendly and helpful, making it easy to book outings and get local tips. The only minor downside was the strong lemongrass-scented lobby fragrance, which could be a bit overpowering. We visited during Ramadan, so the upstairs pool closed early for Iftar, but the Iftar setup was beautiful. Overall, a wonderful stay—spacious rooms, great service, and an ideal location. We would happily recommend this hotel and would stay again
