From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond I honestly don’t think they could have done more to assist us. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made all the difference. A very special thank-you to Tamila, who helped us with everything from clothing alterations to a last-minute shoe repair…she was incredible. Susan was also absolutely dynamite and really looked out for us during our stay. They arranged our trip to and from Ha Long Bay making that planning exceptionally easy and even stored our luggage that we didnt want to take with us. The breakfast was outstanding and be sure to catch a sunset view with a cocktail on the rooftop bar! The service here is simply exceptional, and we felt cared for every step of the way. Highly recommend the Solaria Hotel! We would absolutely stay again!
- danielpT3247DC (10/5): Superb Staff, Location, and Amenities - Located in the Old Quarter, this hotel is ideally situated for anyone wishing to enjoy the most beautiful parts of the city by foot. The staff could not be more helpful, they are so attentive and sincere with everything they do. They have this ability to make everyone feel so welcome without it feeling forced or over bearing. The rooms are on the smaller side, but are so well appointed and maintained that this hardly matters at all. The rooftop bar is an awesome spot to escape the hustle and bustle, and just relax with one of their cocktails. The spa is also very very good. If you get the chance, you should definitely book a spa experience, you won't regret it. The hotel also arranges a cooking class through their partnership with the restaurant below, Mia's. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience. It's a must try for anyone visiting Hanoi.
- Sightseer24880147452 (10/5): A little oasis in the heart of Hanoi's old quarter - Amazing location right in the heart of Hanoi's old quarter. The staff were wonderful, informative and kind. Their restaurant Mia was an absolute delight, a must for dinner, then head back upstairs to the rooftop bar to gaze over the city, with a cocktail in hand. This hotel is a little gem and well worth checking into.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. The hotel is also ideally located to explore the Old Quarter and the French Quarter on foot. We will certainly stay there again the next time we visit Hanoi.

A short walking distance to many cafes, restaurants and retails shops and the serene beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, which is a popular spot among locals and tourists. The Sky Bar on the rooftop offers delicious food and awesome views too! A must visit when staying at the hotel. Hotel itself is cozy and comfortable. What makes it stands out is their staff’s impeccable service, namely Susan, Daria, Grace, Lily and Cheese. From the day we checked in to our check out on the last day, we received the most wonderful and amazing service. The customer service staff were super friendly, welcoming, attentive and informative too, sharing helpful insights with us regarding Hanoi. On our last day, Susan and Daria even gifted us with a complimentary dessert and farewell gift. Truly commendable and impressive! - melissakH1642OP (10/5): Best hotel ever - This is the only hotel I’ll stay at in the Old Quarter. The location is perfect. You walk outside and you’re already close to the best food, shops and places to explore. What made this stay unforgettable was the staff, especially Susan Pham. I emailed the hotel about a month before my trip, and she helped us from that very first message. Two women traveling alone for three weeks can get a little nervous, but she checked on us the whole time, even when we were in other cities and no longer at the hotel. That kind of kindness is rare. She booked our three nights at the hotel, our day trip to Ninh Binh and a three-day, two-night Ha Long Bay cruise. Everything went smoothly and we never had to worry about a thing. The front desk team was just as thoughtful. When Susan was off, they packed snacks for our long rides by bus and car. When it was time for us to leave, Susan walked us to the car, handed us more sandwiches and gave me the sweetest hug. It honestly felt like leaving family. I didn’t experience one single downside during my stay. The hotel, the staff and the level of care were all outstanding. If you’re thinking about staying in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, this is the place. Don’t hesitate.
- meganh925 (10/5): Treated Like Family in the Chaos of Hanoi - We have just checked out after spending 4 nights at the Solaria Hotel and could not recommend it highly enough. To say the customer service is brilliant is an understatement. I had been in contact via email in the lead-up as it was my partner's 50th birthday while we were in Hanoi. Mr Liam was super responsive and nothing was too hard for him to organise. The awesome service also translated to all of the hotel staff we met once we were there. They went above and beyond, and pre-empted our needs. But beyond that, they seemed genuinely friendly and keen to ensure we enjoyed Hanoi in our own style. We organised transfers through them, as well as a private tour to Ninh Binh for a day. It made things so smooth and easy. The location was great for our needs, being first time tourists. We initially got our bearings on one of the double-decker hop on hop off buses, thrn after that got around easily on foot or via taxis/Grabs. We are looking forward to our next destination, but also a little sad to be leaving the Solaria crew behind.

It's no exaggeration to say every element was just perfect - beautifully appointed rooms, incredible staff, a cool rooftop, and a fantastic spa (we enjoyed a couple of treatments and everything was 10/10!). A special thank you Ms Daria who always greeted us with a huge smile and made us feel so warmly welcomed. Most big chain hotels may offer more or pride themselves on the materialistic matter of the industry but Solaria offers a soulful part that other hotels are lacking. - Dom_sydney84 (10/5): Wondeful! - Our stay at Solaria Hotel exceeded expectations and we are sad that we didn't book a longer stay. The location is excellent, next to Hoan Kiem lake but on a quiet street. Easy walk to the Old Quarter, St Joseph Cathedral and train street. Check in was exceptional and Grace took the time to personally welcome us, explain the hotel and the surrounding area and ask if there was anything we would like to do or see before we left Hanoi. She went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble for her. She made a reservation for us at MIAs restaurant (highly recommend) and surprised us by organising a birthday dessert for me. Truly a special person and a credit to the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms are very grand. We slept very well and then enjoyed an exceptional breakfast buffet. You may order from a menu with eggs/cooked breakfasts made to order and enjoy the large selection from the buffet, including a coffee machine and the excellent Vietnamese coffee. Upon checking out the hotel organised a very nice car to transfer us to the airport and presented us with a gift. We were very touched and couldn't believe that we had received this level of service. We didn't get to say goodbye to Grace but we have left Hanoi with very special memories and feel that her customer service has played a big part. If we are ever back in Hanoi we would only look to stay at Solaria Hotel. Thank you Grace and all of the team.

The rooftop bar had a nice view of the city with a relaxed atmosphere. There was also an excellent banh mi stand right next door. If we ever re-visit Hanoi, we'd definitely consider the Solaria again!

And every single service was top tier. What made our stay even more special was the service - it truly elevated our experience to another level. Staff were attentive to our needs and incredibly thoughtful and helpful . They made sure to check in with us every day we were there and were on hand with helpful hints and tips for our time in Hanoi. They also helped organise taxis and helped with translation. We are especially greatful to Cheese and the rest of the reception team who all helped us out so incredibly during the evening of 16/11/25 ( apologies, we cannot remember everyones name) . From the warm reception with cake and cold drinks, to the amazing breakfasts with endless options of both Vietnamese and western choices, this was the perfect choice for accommodations. The service was warm and helpful, the bedding was extremely comfortable, and the room amenities provided from shaving kit to toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as hairdryer, water and coffee were appreciated. We took full advantage of the fantastic spa services which could be booked a few hours in advance, as well as the rooftop bar where the views and service were incredible. The size of the hotel allowed for very personal service, and the location was on a lovely, less busy street in the old quarter that provided the perfect spot for access to the Cathedral and shopping, as well as a short walk to the night market the other sites.

- Roving402736 (10/5): Great little hotel that wins big on warm hospitality! - Solaria is a small size hotel compared to many brand names, but the hospitality is higher than the major brands in the U.S. The hotel itself is very comfortable with the essential amenities and even a spa! We stayed at a balcony room and a king room which are very roomy even compared to those in the U.S. The decor and fixtures are up to date. The beds were comfortable! Breakfast buffet had a wide selection of both western and Asian food. But what really makes this hotel big is the staff! They are so welcoming and caring. They pay attention to details and would accommodate any request within reason! The staff that stand out to us were Daria, who took care of all our spa needs, Lily who welcomed us with the warmest smile and made us feel at home, Susan who made sure our breakfast needs were met and even our check in to the second room. Then Eddie who always opened the door, made sure we got our Grab, and managed all our luggage.

They were approachable, friendly and easy to talk to. I was there at the height of the country's independence day celebrations and thanks to the team was able to get transfer arrangements done at a very short notice. The situation was we went there not knowing there was a big celebration that coincided with our departure. Our initial plan was to just book a cab to the airport but due to the number of people in the vicinity it took awhile for us to book a cab. At that point, we were gladly taken cared of by the staff and soon enough an available van was arranged to take us to the airport - sure glad we didn't miss our flight. :) If you want a good, clean place to stay that is at the heart of Hanoi - Solaria is definitely the right place at it runs smack at the center of Old Quarters where a lot of food and history can be discovered. And with a good team that goes the extra mile it gives one a good feeling of confidence that you have a team behind your back as you continue to discover a new country and a new culture. - G7341SNdang (10/5): Amazing 3-Night Stay at Solaria - A small group of us traveled to Hanoi as part of a bigger tour through Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Four couples each booked our own rooms at Solaria and were immediately impressed by the extra effort of every staff member to make us feel welcomed, special and appreciated. When one couple in our group that had reserved a larger king room bragged about how nice it was, the other three couples became very interested in upgrading and the hotel did their very best to accommodate them as the other room types became available. The rooftop bar and sunset happy hour specials are not to be missed. The staff are very friendly and work hard to please. Service can be a bit slow depending on how crowded they are, but it's worth the extra few minutes of waiting. Several of us took advantage of the spa offerings and were not disappointed. Highly recommend that you take a couple of hours to pamper yourself - you can't go wrong. The desk staff were very helpful in recommending nearby restaurants and even made reservations for us. They also arranged with the amazing breakfast restaurant team to ensure we had a table reserved each morning for our group of eight to eat breakfast together. If you stay on a weekend, you'll have to be dropped off a few doors down because the streets surrounding the hotel are closed to become walking streets. It was such a treat to walk around outside without worrying about cars, although beware of motorcycles as they go around the barriers and can be quite speedy.

- Writetrak (10/5): A little serenity in the busy, busy Old Quarter! - Set in the always lively winding streets of Hanoi's Old Quarter the Solaria Hotel & Spa makes for a nice retreat after a busy day or two or three of sightseeing. We spent three days at this wonderful little find and then added another day, not just because of its location but because of the great staff, food, and value. Five stars, easily and we'll be happy to stay there again. Here's another little tip, at the end of the block there's a nice coffee shop for some Vietnamese coffee while you watch a thousand motor bikes pass by. And across from the coffee shop is Napoli Pizza which my wife says serves up a great burger while I think that maybe they also serve some nice beer and pizza! Like I said the Solare is in a convenient Old Quarter location.

The staff are outstanding- so friendly, helpful and keen to make your stay easy. The rooms are beautifully appointed. We stayed in the family room which was fantastic- enormous with a view to the street. We then moved to double rooms as the family room was not available for our second night. These rooms were also lovely but the windows looked onto a wall only centimetres away. It didn’t matter to us as we were staying only overnight but ask for a room with a better outlook when booking if you intend to spend much time in the room. Breakfast was good with a range of different goods. There is a fantastic restaurant downstairs (Mia) and a great place to buy bahn mi next door. I highly recommend this hotel.

- robertlL4066ML (10/5): A great hotel experience in a bustling city. - A most exceptional hotel. Our 5 day stay at Solaria Hotel was the highlight of our first visit to Hanoi. The perfect location, lovely (included) breakfast, and the sweet room with a very comfortable king bed was just the best! But it was the staff that really set the Solaria apart. Very welcoming, friendly and at the same time professional! They seemed to know our wishes ahead of time, and pretty much everyone knew our names from day one. We had arranged for airport pick-up through the hotel, which was flawless even though we arrived at night and over an hour late. Their recommendations for tours, etc. were always right on, and our ongoing travel to Ninh Binh, (by van) which they set up, was perfect. And very reasonably priced. The rooftop bar was dramatic and romantic, although we are light drinkers and didn’t use it much. There is a wide range of fine liquors available, and you might want to take advantage of that and upgrade to your favorite, as the stock gin in the martini we ordered was a bit rough. Our little step-out balcony gave us a good feel for the day, or night, as we got ready to hit the busy streets. And with just a one block walk to Hoam Kiem lake, you can get a little exercise on the walkway around the lake! We will definitely stay at Solaria again, should we return to Ha Noi.

Situated on the north side of Hoan Kiem lake, you can easily walk to everything. It's located on a street that sees less foot and vehicle traffic. The hotel Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Particularly front desk personnel Grace and Daria. Grace recommended a place for only locals go, a place we passed a dozen times when walking and never noticed. Daria Insured our checkout process was smooth and provided expert advice on which to get at their spa. Everything about this hotel was amazing from their rooftop bar, to their breakfast buffet, to their massage therapists. We cannot wait to come back to Solaria. The hotel is located near beautiful Hoan Kiem lake in the Old Quarter where there is ample shopping and eateries nearby. A generous buffet breakfast is included and has Western and Vietnamese cuisine options. We enjoyed a relaxing drink and the atmosphere at the end of the day at the rooftop top bar and we dined in the onsite restaurant, Mia’s that had an excellent Vietnamese dishes and again the standard of service from the staff was absolutely delightful. The hotel is very charming and comfortable, our room had a large bed and many amenities including free bottled water replenished daily. I was so pleased that I chose the Solaria hotel - the team of staff being the stand out feature, who took service and customer satisfaction to the next level. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel for your visit to Hanoi.
- Oddlykeen (10/5): The Friendliest Hotel In Hanoi - At first glance this hotel might seem a tiny bit dated - but step inside and the staff are the friendliest in Hanoi which makes their place very special. We stayed here for one night as we travelled back through Hanoi from Sapa. The room was lovely, with a balcony and great views of the city. And the staff……so chatty, helpful and warm. My partners trainers were a bit messed up from trekking in SaPa and the hotel had them professionally cleaned witching a few hours. We were leaving early the next morning and were loaded up with fruit for the journey. We left our luggage there and just took small backpacks, returning the following day to collect, and were given yet more gifts to take away! So friendly and I’d thoroughly recommend the Solaria.

The property is in a prime location, just a short 3-4 minute walk from Hoàn Kiếm Lake, making it an ideal base for exploring Hanoi’s vibrant Old Quarter. There are plenty of cafés and shops nearby serving amazing Vietnamese food, and the city tour bus is also just 5 mins away (at the lake). The staff of the Solaria Hotel are exemplary!! Every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. They arranged our pickup from the airport, helped us procure a local SIM, and advised us on what we should do and see while we were staying in Hanoi. Staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast selection good. Food at Mia's restaurant was excellent. Sol rooftop bar has great atmosphere and staff really friendly. What made the stay was the reception staff (especially Susan) just so helpful nothing was too much trouble, always smiling and so friendly. They went above and beyond even providing us with water, fruit and sandwiches for the overnight train to De Nang. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We paid for one of the cheapest rooms here, and while the actual room was modest in size and did not have much view, we thought we got a great value for the money (you can pay for a larger room if that'simportant). Location is right in Old Quarter with easy walkability. Airport transfer was simple even with a later arrival.

I would love to stay there more often.

Well believe it we could not have asked for better treatment if our own family owned the restaurant! The rooftop bar is a must for views of the lake, Hanoi skyline and the wonderful live music. Not to loud and very entertaining! Location could not be better we walked to most all of our destinations. Only a few blocks to the "Hanoi Hilton" prison where John McCain was held. The history of its beginning as a French Prison and use of guillotine during the French occupation was truly enlightening! Plenty of great places in the old town" are literally steps away!

The staff was very welcoming and made you feel truly VIP. The Hotel was in excellent condition and very luxurious. The 9th floor resurant served breakfast and dinner, both services where amazing. The food was top notch and priced very well. Our flight was very early morning before breakfast was served, this did not stop the staff from making us take away breakfast & coffees to take with us on the way to the airport. What an amazing experience this was and if I find myself back in Hanoi, I will be making sure my stay is here.

The front desk staff helped make spa appointments for me at places outside of the hotel which was extremely helpful since many people didn’t speak English. Hotel location was great too for easy access to shopping and restaurants and walkable to many tourist spots. The breakfast is also very good has both Vietnamese and western options and everything is fresh and made to order. The bathrooms are quite small but it was not that big of deal for me.

Helpful and forward thinking- they told us things before we even had time to ask- they are definitely prepared to assist backpackers and travelers alike. With the ability to store luggage, recommendations of what to see and do, even a train schedule for train street! They did a sweep of our room before we left to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind, and offered us a place to freshen up when we came back to get our luggage before heading to the airport. Fabulous service- Lily and Susan are absolutely fantastic. The buffet breakfast had everything we could want and more. Definitely 5 stars. If we even return, this is the only place we’d stay!

The rooms are smaller, think more european, but the still comfortable. The hotel is small but has a great boutique feel. The breakfast was amazing and the massages good as well. Location couldn't be beat and we didn't have an issue with loud noise that others around old quarter have stated. Anytime we are in Hanoi we will book this hotel!

What makes this hotel shine is it’s employees - the friendliest and most service-minded people I have ever met. Each day we were greeted by our first name. The rooms are excellent and the location is perfect, right in the old quarter and by the lake. The roof top bar is fantastic, again with the most lovely staff. On our day of departure, we were held up by the reception when they heard we were going to the train station to catch a 17-hour journey; in 4 minutes they prepared food for us for free to bring on the train along with a gift from the staff. - Kevin (10/5): - We stayed at Solaria for our anniversary and the staff made the experience unforgettable. They decorated our bed with petals and towel swans, which was such a sweet touch. The service was above and beyond—when the airline lost my luggage and another traveler’s bag was dropped off by mistake, the staff stayed with me that night making calls until my bag was returned (which was huge since we had a cruise the next morning!). Throughout the trip they helped with transfers, worked with our cruise company, and even sent us off with gifts like coffee. Special thanks to Cheese and Lily, though everyone was wonderful. Truly some of the best service I’ve ever experienced!

It is convenient for us to go upstairs for the rooftop bar and breakfast, room itself is clean and spotless. 2. location: very convenient , only a bit crowded and busy traffic while weekend since it changes to be walking area 3. food: surprisingly yummy banana cake (welcome food) and the mixed drink! We had it again when we came back in the evening. Breakfast: many options of the semi buffet (main course menu) also the buffet!!!! I liked the view from restaurant 4. Services: feeling helpful the first second when staff helped us carry the luggage one floor up to the main entrance, the check in receptionist are speaking fluent English and very welcoming. Also, breakfast staff are friendly. And a surprise fruit box prepared when we left as they knew we were going to Ha Long Bay cruise trip.

The hotel staff spoke multiple languages, and their service was impressively warm, attentive, and considerate. The breakfast was abundant, and the staff’s positive attitude was as bright and delightful as the weather in Vietnam. One small detail really touched us: when my daughter accidentally dropped her fork on the floor, the staff immediately noticed and brought her a new one without us even asking. This level of responsiveness and professionalism was truly admirable. The hotel’s spa was also outstanding, with skilled and delicate techniques in an elegant and relaxing environment. The service provided by the receptionist, Duria, was absolutely of a five-star standard, and combined with her charming smile, it made us fall in love with this hotel even more. We sincerely hope that someday in the future, our paths will cross again!

The location was more than ideal, allowing for <30 minute walks to any location we desired to visit. The breakfast buffet held a wide selection of items and all of the food was top tier. The breakfast space also had outstanding views of the city. We spent my birthday there and when my mom emailed a few weeks prior asking about surprising me with a cake, they were extremely attentive, detailed, and kind in fulfilling that request. Emma and Daria are two of the staff that stood out to us in how they put their heart into everything they did for us during our stay. Additionally, when we were leaving one of our suitcase zippers split, which resulted in us being late for checkout. They were extremely understanding and helpful in helping us solve the untimely and unplanned issue. They held our luggage in the lobby and led us to the nearest luggage shop. Our stay here will be one that we won’t forget!

- E9043XPphilipc (10/5): Solaria Hotel Stay HaNoi - As soon as I arrived at the hotel, all the hotel staff greeted me with a warm welcome. All the hotel staff were very friendly, nice and helpful. I couldn’t ask for more. Hotel rooms were nice clean, heaps of room, breakfast at the hotel was good, lots to choose from. Roof top bar is good, awesome view looking over the city. Location of hotel is excellent in the middle of the city centre which is all walking distance to all shops, bars, street food. I did the Halong, Lanha bays day tour which was awesome. Long day but was worth the experience. I did the Ninh Binh day tour but due to bad weather we couldn’t climb up the mountain to the view point. One of hotel staff packed me a small snack pack each morning for me before my tour which was so nice and sweet. Train street is awesome need to go there. There is so much things to see and do here I ran out of time and I spent 4 nights here. I’ll be coming back again on my next trip.
