Guest Reviews
- Alisha (5/5): - Location was good, nice area and near restaurants and decent distant to train station. No elevator, pillows were terrible and left me with neck issues, had issues with check in.
- Kwan Ying (8/5): -
- Olivia (9/5): Comfortable and close to transport. - Clean and close to transport. Big enough for a family of 4 (younger kids). Everything we needed for our stay. Very quiet at night.
- Donna (9/5): - Good location in Shinjuku. Tucked in a cute lane way that was quiet but close to everything. Appreciated the table and kitchenette. Nothing. It was really good.
- Tai (10/5): Nice room with ambient lighting but no elevator - It's spacious. Has nixe ambient lighting and laundry. Easy check in and check out. Just that it's slightly far from some stations. Third floor kind of a struggle to get to with luggage as there is no elevator.

- Gina (6/5): Disappointing overall except location - Location and it was spacious for Tokyo standards -5 nights booking but not a single cleaning service, no way to clear our mounting rubbish
- the underside of the upper bunk bed had so much dust including on the walls and corners, impossible to sleep below
- some noise as it's beside a small road
- practically no where to hang towels or clothes, not a single bar/hook, for 4 people in a room, it's a mess
- PINHAN (10/5): -
- Bastian (8/5): -
- Katie (10/5): Great experience for our 1st time to Japan - Clean and comfortable
- Mary Ann Johnson (2/5): Almost perfect - Everything There is no elevator, we have heavy suitcases and we are on the 3rd floor, we have knee pain. If there is elevator it would have been perfect!!!!
- Andrea (8/5): - Great location and price! spacious compared to most tokyo accomodations Unfortunately we were all quite tall so the bunk bed situation is tough haha getting in and out of it without hitting my head of part of my body was near impossible haha but thats on my clumsiness - just a warning to tall people to be mindful
- Laura (9/5): Buen hotel - Muy limpio, lavadora, terraza.
- celine (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Gunnlaugur Sigurðsson (8/5): Excellent - Great location, close to convenience store and next trainstation. On-site check-in app could be better.
- Winkel (7/5): - Beds and bathroom
- zoran.p (10/5): -
Amenities, serviettes ….
Parfait pour un séjour de tourisme !
- Matteo (9/5): Strategic positioning with chill vibes - The position and neighborhood are very chill and typical.
Also the staff is really helpful. We just had a little problem with internet connection during the check-in. Just a 2 minute problem, not a big deal.
- SİNEM (8/5): -
- Simon (10/5): -
- Jessep (7/5): -
- Marysa (8/5): -
- Ryan (8/5): - It met our expectations, was clean, had good utilities, nice balcony, good location, easy check in process. Beds and pillows could have been more comfortable.
- Veselin (10/5): - The hotel is absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend visiting it!
- MEI JUAN (10/5): - If they can add the elevator, it would be better for the customer's with luggages.
- Kurt (10/5): - Great property. Clean and easy process.
- Juan Antonio (10/5): - Todo muy bien.
- Carla (8/5): - Very spacious rooms loved it
- Pilar (7/5): Buena ubicación - La ubicación Falta de recepción
- Elias Samuel (4/5): -
- Connor (8/5): - Solid location, beds aren’t great but not bad
- ferraro (4/5): -
- binh (6/5): - It's was ok. Felt more like dorm room than a hotel. Would not recommend for family. Saw 2 cockroaches which means room was not cleaned properly.
- arlene (8/5): - Great location for exploring Sinjiky, Harajuku, Shibuya areas. Close to a train station, Lawson and 7-11. Perfect room for a family of 4 as our room had 2 bunk beds.
- Kwok Leung (10/5): -
- Shelley (10/5): - This was a lovely, clean and tidy room in a great area with great facilities. I would highly recommend staying here.
- Michele (8/5): - Our family of four enjoyed our stay at Rona. Be aware that there won’t be a person to assist with check in and out, but respond quickly to questions and requests through email. Beds were comfortable, quiet neighborhood nearby to attractions & transportation. Laundry is directly in the room, which is great. Terrific coffee shop is neighboring the hotel, very convenient in the mornings.
- Cari (8/5): - Our room was much smaller than I anticipated. I didn’t realize we didn’t have an actual table but that the tray table in the room is what was considered a table. It had a kitchen sink, stove, microwave, plates, washing machine/dryer combo was a must, etc. so it was good for our purposes. The room was on the third floor, no elevator and ac was not on when we arrived. We were very hot from being outside in the heat so entering a room even hotter was incredibly difficult. Once the ac was running, it cooled very well but took some time. Really wish it had been on prior to us getting there. We had the 3 twin bed room, others were larger but already sold out. I’d say go for the larger rooms if you can but if you don’t mind the small space, it’s functional and was fine for 2 adults and 1 child. I wouldn’t try for more people.
- Sebastian (8/5): Great location and value - The location is perfect, close to the subway and several direct lines. If you plan to explore Shinjuku or Shibuya this is a great find (good value). I wouldn't say this is a hotel, more of an apartment to yourself.
The staff is amazing and super quick to respond if you have questions or issues. Note, this is an unmanned hotel (everything is digital) Overall we were happy with the standard, you get what you pay for. However, some surfaces should be properly cleaned and painted. You can observe several water related damages and some spots in the roof (shower area).
- Katie (10/5): Would stay again when back to Tokyo! - Such a great home base for Tokyo for a family! Close to the train station, but in a quiet residential area that was close to restaurants and 7/11. Great size for a family with comfortable beds. Nothing
- Sara (8/5): Excellent location , nice balcony - Very good location with all that you need to spent some days in Tokyo
- Federica (10/5): - Ottimo soggi
- Emma (8/5): - Great size accommodation
- Juliana (10/5): - We loved our stay at the Rona Hotel. It was very convenient and our favorite thing was the shower. I have never have such and amazing shower pressure anywhere in the world. My only feedback is to get better signage about the place. The sign is very small and we had trouble finding the place. Other than that, it was a great location for our family of 4
- Alyssa Jeanne (8/5): - Good location. And the room is pretty good for a group of 3. The location is also near a metro station and a couple of convenient store and restaurants. It's also one bus away to the heart of Shinjuku. The only down side is the hotel doesn't have a elevator which made it hard for us bringing in and out our luggages. We're on the 3rd floor and the stairs are narrow. We struggle bringing down 6 luggages when we were leaving.
- Khoi (10/5): Exceptional - Great for its price. Location is a 10 minute walk from metro and bus. Bed was pretty comfy. Spacious area. I like that there was an area for suitcases.
- LUCIA (8/5): - Centrica
- Faizaan (8/5): Very good - A modern furnished room and a nice layout. Had everything we needed. Each bed was accompanied with a lamp and a working charging station. Check in/out is smooth. Be wary that there are fair number of stairs to climb, but the bigger issue was the stairway was so narrow. Washing machine didn't work for us, left our clothes damp and smelling funny
- Jared (10/5): Overall great stay for our group - Located in a quiet area not too far from a station and a 7/11 right nearby the rooms seemed relatively noise proof and the 4 of us had a great stay the beds where clean lots of towels and a great location to explore Tokyo from Check out at 10:00 and no luggage storage is something to keep in mind
Washing machine only and hang drying inside was not very effective unfortunately
- Inda (8/5): - It was nice but it wasn’t the greatest. The bidet did not work.
- Evelyn (8/5): - Great place to stay! It was great for 2 ppl. The space is a bit small if you have two huge luggages (had to manoeuvre luggages to open them)
Only negative is the main entrance to hotel does not have a lock so anyone can open it. Rooms need a code to get into so relatively safe and we had no issues
- Kit (8/5): - Good response time from property managers
- Loris (8/5): Very good value for money, ideally located close to everything and in a quiet area. Only the cleanliness of the bed line - Location, room size, quiet area The cleanliness of the laundry that leaves something to be desired
- Manon (6/5): - The location was convenient in terms of access to a train station, but it's about a 15-minute walk from the heart of Shinjuku, so keep that in mind if you're planning to explore the area on foot. The place itself felt more like an Airbnb than a traditional hotel. There’s no front desk or staff presence, and check-in was completely self-service.
One major downside was the lack of an elevator. The staircase is incredibly narrow and steep, and carrying luggage up multiple flights was exhausting. Also, the automatic light in the toilet was a bit frustrating, especially during the night. It kept turning off mid-use, which wasn’t ideal.
Overall, it was a clean and functional place to sleep, but I’d recommend it more for light packers or short stays, and not for anyone expecting hotel-style amenities or service.
- Christian (10/5): - Great hotel loved the location only downside is no elevator
- Jollywng (5/5): Can be better - The location is excellent—just a short walk from the subway station, making it convenient and easy to find for both visitors and daily commuters alike. The room was smaller than expected. There’s a washing machine but no dryer. The kitchen has a knife but no cups or mugs. The bathroom basin had buildup and a slight smell. Overall, definitely not worth the price.
- Laia (8/5): Very good - Very convenient place to stay with the family, well communicated and good location! There’s no staff but the communication with the team to check in was great , and they facilitated to leave the luggage earlier. The cutlery and some kitchen utensils, or to clean was tight. We were there for 5 nights and there was no maintenance so it would had been nice to have something to keep it clean.
- Thomas (8/5): - It was exactly what it said on the website which basically was just a place to sleep which was perfect for our needs
- Christina (10/5): - Tidy, quiet, and cosy.
- Leticia (6/5): Pleasant - Space and facilities were good We asked for a late check out (11:00am or 12:00) and first they said they were full and couldn’t accommodate us, gave us a few excuses, asked for 3,500 yen per hour extra and then told us not to stay.
- Kiana (10/5): - My family, which included four adults, really enjoyed our stay at the RoNa Hotel. The room was clean and very spacious. It was helpful that the toilet and shower each had its own separate room. Several complimentary items were provided, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower soaps, etc. They even provided pajamas and an ample amount of towels. The A/C and Wi-Fi worked well. The shower was wonderful, with hot water and strong water pressure. The beds were also very comfortable and spacious. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy.
The location was great! The hotel was close to a subway station, only about a five-minute walk away, and a 10–15-minute walk from the heart of Shinjuku. When I had questions about our stay, the staff was very quick and helpful with any concerns we had.
My family and I would definitely recommend the RoNa Hotel.
- Aaron (3/5): Poor - Spacious living quarters No hot water at all
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yuk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giulia (7/5): Good -
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Trinity (8/5): Great. Clean, Comfortable. Everything you need - Clean, comfortable. Extra towels
Heating, East checkin
Close to 7 eleven and train station.
Laundromat also close by .
- Raymond (10/5): - Perfect for our group of 4 stay in Japan for a week. The shower was a pretty big size than the usual Japanese shower, and the toilet was separate so two people could utilize those facilities at the same time. The room was pretty spacious with a medium size dining table. Its location was in walking distance of the main parts of Shinjuku as well as nearby the train station and a 7/11. The only minor thing was the stairs are very narrow making it a bit annoying to carry up and down big luggages. Overall a pretty good experience and would recommend.
- Daniel (9/5): It was great. - It had a laundry, staff were very helpful and replied fast even via email and late at night Nothing much
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional - Its a perfect hotel thats affordable in shinjuku area, its a great hotel with proper room cleaning, plenty towels and clean rooms only exception is that if your room is 3rd floor you need to bring your luggage up the stairs as there is no lift
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Wazaid (8/5): - it was chill
- Antonio (10/5): - The hotel is well equipped and walkable from Higashi Shinjuku station. We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights with 2 young kids. Clean and modern with large comfortable bunk beds for 4 ppl.
Thank you Rona hotel!
- Mark (7/5): Good - Value for money It’s too small and the steps are very steep and narrow, without lift, you need to carry all your luggage up.
- Maxime (10/5): - Smooth visit at the Rona hotel, well located in shinjuku and easy access to the subway. Very clean facility and responsive staff when we have questions. Room cleaning included which is very good too!
- Sahil (9/5): Superb -
- Hung Chih (10/5): Highly recommend!!! - Everything's good! Big and clean room included anything!
Perfect location to anywhere.
Highly recommend!!!
- Carmen (10/5): - Love this small, modern and functional hotel. It was perfect!
- Hung (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matteo (6/5): Pleasant - Location, room size, bathroom Horrible pillows, had neck pain 3 days out of 4 and the hair drayer wasn’t in great shape
- Simon (9/5): Great location, comfy beds and a good set up for a family - Great location on a quiet road but close to shops and restaurants. Comfy beds and a decent amount of space, great shower Bit tricky to find initially
- Bill (10/5): - Close the main area of Shinjuku and train. A nice apartment with bunks and a kitchenette. Everything was clean and convenient.
- TSUNG HAO (10/5): -
- Chris (8/5): - Good amount of space (we were a family of 4), with a basic kitchen and a kitchen table - this helped when we had a 7-11 dinner!
The location was a bit removed from the main action of Shinjuku.
- Rees (8/5): Very good - Location was good for our visit.
Communication and access was easy Nothing
- Ankit (6/5): I don’t think it was for me as I didn’t find it comfortable and the space was really tiny. - The property was in a nice quiet neighborhood. The space was really small and the staircase is very narrow so if you have big suitcase or multiple suitcase, then it would be a hassle.
- Thibiha (7/5): Good -
- Phuong (8/5): - The property was close to the subway station and convenience store. We liked the bunk beds and having a fridge, microwave and washing machine in the unit. There is no drying machine but there is a local laundromat close by you can dry your clothes at. The one thing they did not provide was the wifi password, so we had to use our data the whole time we were there. There is no staff onsite to ask and the one time we saw someone, he didn’t know it either. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable for our family of four.
- Candia (8/5): Fantastic location - Great location, enough room in apartment for a family. Water pressure in showers is amazing The pillows... these were like bricks.... had really poor sleep and stiff necks unfortunately
