Los colchones son delgados, la capsula.que me toco (K) estaba muy lejos del aire acondicionado por lo que pase calor, los baños y regaderas estan dentro de los cuartos compartidos por lo que todo se escucha y huele, hay menos privacidad, los escalones para subir a las capsulas de arriba son incómodos, hay poco espacio para maletas, no dan ninguna amenidad. Los baños no estaban tan limpios sobre todo las regaderas. La.luz de las capsulas solo tenía un interruptor cerca de la cabecera por lo que si lo apagas y haces algo en la orilla ya no se ve nada. Rente una pijama y estaba un poco calurosa.

• Olivia (7/5): Good “budget” option in nice neighbourhood - We loved the location - Kuramae is a quiet but homey neighbourhood, great cafés and very well connected but away from the chaos. There are very convenience stores (Lawson, Family Mart) nearby as well as various metro stops within 10 mins walk. Also very close to Asakusa and many tourist spots - can reach on foot. The shared showers and toilets were very clean and we never had to wait to use one. There was a sink in each room. Hairdryers, toiletries provided in each shared toilet cubicle. Rules against using hairdryers and general noise post 11pm was appreciated for a good sleep. There was a common area downstairs with a shared fridge and table seats to eat and chill. Free tea and instant coffee, a microwave. We booked this hostel as it was the cheapest we could find in Tokyo for our dates, but even so we paid £65 per night for a small double room which isn’t a “budget” option and is expensive for the facilities. The double bedrooms are very small for two people with luggage, as there’s zero storage. 80% of the floor space is taken up by the mattress on the floor. We are backpackers so we travel quite light but we still had no room for our stuff and the room got a bit cramped and messy. The window only has a very flimsy curtain, no blind or anything so it’s incredibly bright making it difficult to sleep post 5am (we had to use eye masks). When we went into our room it stank really badly of damp, there was a dehumidifier in the room but it turned out the smell was actually coming from the dehumidifier itself so we had to turn it off - maybe the filter needed changing? The room needs a few more storage options, even shelves or more hooks on the walls. It also would’ve been good to have a fridge in the room.

• Philipp (10/5): Sehr ruhiges Hostel mit großem Doppelzimmer und sauberen Gemeinschaftsbädern - Das Hostel ist super und wir können es vollends empfehlen. Wir hatten ein großes Doppelzimmer, das Bad und die Toilette waren sauber, auch wenn sie auf dem Gang lagen und geteilt wurden. Während unseres viertägigen Aufenthalts haben wir fast niemanden im Hostel angetroffen – es war sehr ruhig. In der Umgebung gibt es diverse Essensmöglichkeiten. Bis zur nächsten öffentlichen Haltestelle muss man doch einige Minuten gehen.

• Jose (9/5): A perfect nice stay in Ueno! coming from someone who knows this area - This place is really warming when it comes to people, and it's not just the staff, but the nice guests who will also help make it. Amenities-wise this hostel stays over even vs some hotels in the city. Everything is perfectly explained in many languages so you dont have a problem understanding what you need to take care of. At times the cooling (during this summer) felt just not enough inside the rooms, but that's down to personal preferences only.
• Alexander (10/5): More a hotel than a hostel, spacious rooms - Room much larger than expected. The pictures make this room look tiny, but they are really quite spacious. Very clean and well kept. Rooms are stylish and comfortable. Lots of nice lighting options (lamps and dimmer switches). Shower is warm and has good water pressure. I never had to wait (2 showers and 3 toilets on our floor, for 6 rooms). Staff are friendly. Cold water and tea available in the lobby. Stored our bags for a few hours after checkout. Nothing. The stay was better than I expected. One of the most comfortable hostels I've stayed at.

• Caroline (8/5): Modern and perfectly located . - I really enjoyed my stay at &AND HOSTEL Kuramae West. The capsule-style beds were surprisingly spacious and private, with individual lights, outlets, and shelves, perfect for solo travelers who value peace and comfort. The whole place was spotless and modern, with a minimalist design. The location is excellent, close to two metro lines and surrounded by convenience stores, cafés, and restaurants. The staff was kind and professional, and check-in was fast and smooth. It’s not a social hostel, so if you’re looking to meet people, this might not be the best option. Also, there’s no shared kitchen, only a microwave and electric kettle available.

• Tanrıverdi (10/5): The places I visited were 20 minutes away by train, which was perfect for me. - What I liked most about the facility was the friendliness and serenity of the environment. I felt like I was spending time with people I had known for a long time, there was a very sincere and friendly atmosphere. It's really hard to find such a beautiful energy. To be honest, I felt a bit sad when I left, I will really miss this place and what I felt here. Honestly the only thing I didn't like about the facility was that I had to leave! It was such a beautiful, peaceful and friendly environment that I wished I could have stayed a little longer

• Jatu (9/5): Superb - I book a private room. It's spacious and even have a sink inside so I don't have to go outside to wash my face. It's also close to Ueno Park and Kappabashi Kitchen Street. I spot some izakaya around the neighbourhood. The hostel has complete cooking & eating utensils. I can buy some food from konbini at night and reheat them in the kitchen for breakfast the next day. The hostel also provide a quite nice coffee so it's good. It's quite a distance from the station. I feel that when I walk to the hostel after a long flight and long train ride from airport. It's also located in residential area, so while it's nice and quiet at night, the konbinis are 3-6 blocks away, and didn't see restaurant nearby except izakaya.

• Despoina (8/5): Comfortable enjoyable stay! - Great staff that helped us a lot before our arrival with information as well as with booking a restaurant that we couldn't call because we don't speak Japanese. They always had a smile and we're helpful! The hostel is located in a very calm residential area of Tokyo but walking distance from Asakusa. From the windows over the road you get a cute vibe of the normal life going on in this neighborhood. The closest metro is 10min walk maximum (if you don't get distracted by all the combini on the go). The facilities are clean and organized. The toilets and showers looked as clean as in a private room, super clean! Additionally, they provide free amenities like hair straighteners and other toiletries. Moreover, we had access to a shared (small) fridge and oven. A kettle, cups and cutlery were free to use too. This made it very convenient to have breakfast or a quick tea. The bed was in a kind of a small space. That was not too big of a problem but it was getting warm fast. Late check in policy: we'd have had to pay 1000 yen if arriving later than 11 pm. After a late arrival, we just made it in time.

There are 2 Shin Okachimachi Stations. I got off the wrong one so the walk was not 7 minutes but 25 minutes.,it would be helpful to make that clear on the website. No stovetop. Others bought eggs to cook not realizing there’s no stovetop to cook with.

Only had a hard time with the A/C & Heater couldn’t figure out how to use it and accidentally came back to a super hot room. But that’s just because i myself couldn’t figure it out.

• Olivia (10/5): Fantastic experience! - The staff were so lovely and welcoming. It is such a cozy environment. The downstairs area is a nice place catch up on admin, socialise or even just chill out. The room were spacious and the bathroom facilities were very clean. It is a 200m walk from the train station which takes you everywhere you need to go. I have stayed here both times I have visited to Japan and recommend to anyone who is looking for a cosy, relaxing experience. My partner and I stayed in the double room and although I myself didn’t have too much of an issue my partner found the bed to be a little harsh on his back due to the mattress being quite thin. Other than that 10/10 experience.

The room had Aircon but the capsule area got pretty stuffy by the morning - however for the price I expect this, and everything else was great, still a decent night's sleep

Really quiet area, nice after the business of Shibuya and shinjuku to come back for some peace and quiet. Lovely restaurants near by. The mattress was on the thin side, it’s a good 15 minute walk from the train station which was difficult with suitcases.
