Guest Reviews
- astrid (6/5): - De locatie Veel te duur
- Anastan (10/5): -
- jan (10/5): Very perfect experience - Perfect romantic It was good
- lisa (6/5): Good if you don't mind the little inconveniences. - Beautiful location, really peaceful, the coffee pouches were a big bonus!
Once in a lifetime to do. Shower didn't drain well, so needed to stop showering a couple of times to let it drain.
Struggled with the heating system.
A little to far from everything (food, station,...)
Really small, no room to put your luggage.
- B (10/5): Very pleasant. Felt grounded with nature surrounded by the canal and foliage yet not completely isolated as one can hear - I am impressed by the ingenuity that all ones necessary daily need could be put into such a small space. It did not accure to me that l could raise the metal shutters facing south.

- Elizaveta (10/5): - It was just perfect! Especially if you want to be in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere - you couldn't ask for a better place.
- Noel (10/5): - I loved the concept of a mini studio on the bridge. Comfortable bed and shower. Private atmosphere due to the neighborhood and surroundings. Definitely great for a weekend or a few days. Not a place for light sleepers but there are no cars crossing the bridge- the building is just lightly insulated.
- Elianne (7/5): Prima - Lokatie Code om binnen te komen werkte niet
Douche is klein en deuren van de douche ingang ook. En ik ben zelf niet groot maar het was onhandig krap bij de douche
- Linda (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable, well equipped! Only a 10 minute walk to the metro , which is 2 stops from the centre.
- Ayang (8/5): Unique experience! ❤️ - I like the location, also the building itself is very unique!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Unique stay! - Staying in the boat house was a special experience! It was well-designed, cosy and comfortable. We loved having the all-around windows looking out onto the canal. The location is lovely as well, though would recommend having a bike to get to nearby restaurants in Noord (only 5-10 minute cycle but a longer walk). It is close to a metro station and the ferry into central Amsterdam. For the price I would have expected better amenities, for example toiletries, and better care of some of the furniture (the throw pillows and stools were quite badly stained). Other than value for money it was a lovely stay!
- Pierre-olivier (10/5): Exceptional - The place, the location, and the personnel are awsome, responsive and helpfull !
Everything is made to make your stay amazing !
- Katie (10/5): Amazing and a wonderful way to enjoy Amsterdam! - The property was wonderful! Just outside of central Amsterdam whether you would rather walk or talk the metro. We loved the property, we would however say it’s definitely a weekend break or short stay due to the fact that it is a smaller property - long term stays wouldn’t be as doable.
- Leroy (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great time! The bed was comfortable, and the cabin was cleverly designed to make our stay comfortable. The location is well connected to the center of Amsterdam by tram.
- Frederik (10/5): Exceptional -
- India (10/5): Beautiful, cosy and relaxing - Really amazing location. Such a beauty spot. If you come in on the train I recommend renting bikes as this only took us 20mins including the ferry at a leisurely pace. Beautiful walk/cycle path to central.
The place had everything you need and want for a short stay. Gets very warm with all the windows but this is quickly fixed with the aircon.
Kitchen area in odd location - adjoined with bathroom area
- Amina-tiye (10/5): Exceptional - The information on getting into the room was sent right when they said it would be, and I didn't have any issues gaining access.
This place was perfect for just two of us traveling light, and it's beautiful being surrounded by the windows.
We started on a chillier night, and though it wouldn't have taken long to warm such a small space, the temp inside was already perfectly warm when we arrived.
That bed was the most comfortable place I could have imagined!
For a hardwood floor, the slippers were a perfect, thoughtful touch.
- Dušan (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation is excellent, really good location, you can easily find transport nearby to Amsterdam center. Very comfortable bed, I slept very well.
- Charlotte (9/5): Small but perfectly -
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (8/5): Nice view. - Quiet area, water kettle and some drip coffee. Nice view. The gate should be locked somehow, because sometimes there were some kids jumping in the water from the property and made a lot of noise.
The electric door lock was a little weird, I had to call someone on the first evening to get in, the App did not work. But they sent a new code for the App and the next day they sent someone to put a key card into an outside safe.
- Michelle (10/5): A gem and real treat for visitors who value comfort, design, novelty, and urban sustainability - I can't believe my luck in learning of, and booking, this room and this "scattered hotel"! SWEETS is such a neat concept: defunct canal bridge control towers converted into hotel rooms, hiding in plain sight all over Amsterdam. And it's beautifully executed.
- The view and location! Tranquil canal with occasional boats, bike path on opposite bank, trees, and ever-changing Dutch sky. Cute old houses all around, and a park on the south side. No other tourists. It feels worlds away from Amsterdam (especially the crowded Centrum) but the Metro and (free!) ferry make the city very accessible.
- The room is a cozy retreat, with down and feather duvet and pillows, cool cotton bedding, and natural materials throughout. Definitely an "efficiency" bathroom/coffee-fridge, with every inch used but all the thoughtful necessities and some amenities. Great to wake up, make coffee, and gaze at the view from bed.
- Though "unhosted," check-in was very good: received instructions to download an app to open the door. Cheerful handwritten welcome card inside with key card and how to contact somebody if I needed anything. Housekeeping available every 3 nights.
- Within 5 minutes' walk is an old windmill --the Admiraal Molen-- and a bat habitat/corridor! No dislikes, but rather things to note:
- Arrival: There's a ton of construction around the nearest Metro station, Noord, making the Google Maps instructions very confusing. An easier alternative is Metro station Noorderpark (one stop before Noord, coming from Centraal), which is only slightly farther but a direct and pleasant walk via paved park path to the room. (If you do arrive at Noord, avoid the construction by taking the path along S117 to the canal and then a canalside path to the room.)
- Location: This is a residential and park neighborhood; the closest cafes, restos, etc. are at the Metro stations. No laundromat close by. The SWEETS app has a nice guide to cafes, though could use a wee update. (But then, everything needs updating daily, these days...)
- This is a good place to have a bike. The walk to Metro is nice, but 20-25 min; by bike, 5m.
- It's compact. If you're a large person, or there are 2 of you, this room may be a squeeze--which might be delightful or not, depending on your attitude. :)
- Gonul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meggylangerwerf (10/5): A unique location in amsterdam that exceeded expectations. - The bridge keeper cottage was truly a unique experience to discover Amsterdam. Despite expecting to hear ambient noise from the water and the bridge, there was virtually no noise, which was positive! In addition, we could darken the room well and the bed was very comfortable so we slept very well.
The decor of the cottage was unique and cute. This makes it one of the nicest locations we have ever stayed in.
- Gabe (10/5): wonderful! cute, accessible by bike and ferry, good linens, THank you! - no coffee mugs
- Helen (6/5): Pleasant - Quiet location, overlooking the canal and the river. Compact with everything that you needed There was unfortunately a leak from the roof directly on to the bed during my stay. The out of hours staff member was very slow to respond and rude.
- Marcus (10/5): Great location, small but perfectly-formed property - The location, the design and the high standard of finish. Nothing; I loved the property
- Wieteke (9/5): Gorgeous view, very well designed cosy little place. Really small so not suitable for plus size peop - Original and nice location with a gorgeous view, and the place was super well designed with all the comfort that one can fit in a small space. A fair warning to people who might be a bit bigger in size or taller, it is a really tight space.
- Anthony (8/5): Enjoyed it. - Unusual location, nice design. Check in was a bit awkward without mobile data. Pillows were too soft. It was noisier than expected mainly from cyclists and people playing in the canal and park.
- Maja (10/5): Exceptional - Location, natural environment, vibe; architectural project and context. Peaceful.
- Donatien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Markus (10/5): - Ein sehr schönes Zimmer/Tiny House.
- Julia (10/5): I think it was amazing acquaintance with this hotel chain. - I liked the concept of this place, of this hotels in general. I liked the view also, it’s amazing to wake up and feel like you are somewhere in a middle of nature place. The area around is amazing for cycling and for running. I’ll remember this trip as a very special moment of life. The bathroom place a bit small, the curtain is too close to the wall, so, you almost can’t take a shower and not being stuck around by the curtain. Also area near refrigerator was super hot. I would also recommend to add some tableware like a flat plates, that would be useful.
