Everything was clean, the room was a nice size and the staff was extremely helpful. Overall we are very happy with our stay here and highly recommend it!

In particular very easy to get to Shinawaga, Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku along the Yamamoto line as the Gotanda station is right on the first floor. Despite the hotel being so close to the subway we did not hear any noise The hotel breakfast was tasty and satisfying.
- AMY (10/5): - Loved my stay here. Their amenities was amazing, I also did late checkout for a reasonable price. I got my room cleaned daily (per request) and it was nice and clean. I really like that they have Dyson fans and hair dryers. I like the bathing option and shower option, had the toilet separate from that area. Transportation is right downstairs, close to major areas like Shinjuku/shinbuya. Lots of great local restaurants near here! Will definitely book here again if I come back to Tokyo :)

The hotel breakfast was delicious and convenient. The location was also great because there were lots of places to eat and also a mall. Uniqlo was downstairs also convenient if you forgot something. While the room was not large, it was well designed to provide all we needed for 3 nights in Tokyo without feeling overly cramped. The breakfast was very good and a good value. Even though this hotel is right in Gotanda Station our room was quiet and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

There’s a Uniqlo at level 2, a don don donki nearby , IFU ramen shops, as well as many other shops . Although next to train station, you don’t hear the train. The breakfast is a choice form 3 mains , not much buffet style

- TINNY (8/5): - Awesome location as it is right by the gotanda station. You dont have to worry about the weather. Room is clean and we love the bathtub. You wont be able to hear the sound of trains but siren can be heard throught the day and night (its next to a police station) Love that they offer free masks and bath salts, along with other basic amendities that you can take next to the reception on the 3rd floor. They also have a laundry room and microwave on the 8th floor.

Check in and out is automatic at counter, though staff is available to help if you run into trouble. Very clean facilities and room, hotel looks new. Nowhere to comfortably sit in hotel lobby really. But good free amenities and coffee tea.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Very basic but clean and good location. Cold staff - We emailed the hotel days before our stay to offer to pay to check in early as our flight was landing 7am. We received no reply. We arrived at the hotel at 10am and they would not allow us to check in even though the room hadnt been occupied the night prior. The staff was totally inflexible and could not think outside of their standard operating procedure. After being persistent all of a sudden the room WAS made available so it just shows it was available all along but the staff dont have the commercial awareness to understand this was a revenue opportunity, and an opportunity to satisfy their guests needs. The hospitality at this hotel was extemely poor on the staff's behalf. They need better training and a positive mindset instead of just sticking to the mentality of sticking strictly to their rules. The room and location was fine but this inability to sympathise with people who'd been travelling 20 hours left a bitter taste in our mouths.
- Sheena (10/5): - Hotel can connect to both subway and JR line, very conveniently located and there's decent amount of food options nearby too. Very friendly staff who helped checkin eventhough they are using a new self service system where you interact with their touch TV and a staffmember on their ipad will talk to you through it. They also helped store our luggage for us after we checked out, ill definitely come back to stay here again.

- Jeanine (10/5): - This was the PERFECT place to stay our first night in Tokyo. The access to the Yamanote Line can’t be beat (it’s literally ABOVE the train station), we got some quick shopping in at Uniqlo (which is on one of the floors above reception), quiet room, and we could get out and going so easily the next morning from Shinjuku. And honestly, the toilets were such a luxury even by Japanese standards! Ha ha Would highly recommend and stay here again!
- Vincci (8/5): - This is my 3rd time to book this hotel. Staffs are nice and helpful. I requested for a upper floor and they will try their best to do so. Although the room is much smaller than those previous stays, it's still clean and tidy. However, one thing I'd like to mention. I asked the concierge for the possibility to extend my check out time, he didn't check and rejected directly or requested for a pay. I did the same before and they will try to check even though they can't help. He was so mean to me this time and made me disappointed.

- Ronald (8/5): Almost the perfect stay! - We had a great stay at JR East Hotel Mets Gotanda. The location was unbeatable, comfort and presentation of our room was excellent and service was wonderful. We used the Restaurant every day of our stay and that was first-class. Our only problem with our room was that the air-conditioning was centrally controlled from somewhere and was far too hot for us. Because there was no small window for fresh air to enter the room, we were very uncomfortable at times. The air purifier was showing 25 degrees whilst the air-conditioner was showing 19 degrees! - Patrick (10/5): - My go-to hotel when I visit Japan. I like that it is much closer to the train station and it is closer to Shibuya and Shinjuku. The hotel is clean although the rooms are quite small.

- Akiko (10/5): - there was no human at the check in counter. but it was easy to navigate thru the check in process. they have 3 W/D in the building and you can check the availability on TV (shows which one is available to use, which ones are in use for how many minutes left to be done etc...)

Just 3 stops away from shibuya, very awesome choice if you want to be near shibuya but also want to have some peace away from the crowd. Highly recommended!!

- Blazej (10/5): - Clean, modern and functional! This hotel is located right AT Gotanda Station and thus perfectly positioned as a forward base for trips around Tokyo. It's also well-maintained and clean, with a top-shelf air purifier/ionizer in the room. The only caveat is that the passing trains are audible as a quiet whoosh. Very sensitive guests may find this noticeable.
- Lesley (10/5): - This was a great hotel considering it's location right inside Gotanda station. We were looking for a cost-effective hotel on the JR line, and it was exactly as described. The room was kept very clean and various toiletries supplied to self select such as bath salts, full skincare regimen etc. We also made use of the laundry self service available which was great. However would recommend an extra second drying cycle is required. This accepts suica card and coins.

- ARMANDO (8/5): - Very good location,close to station and mini markets, and cafeteria. The restaurant carrols offer delicious plate and excelent breakfast. Excellent service.
- Brian (8/5): Good location - Nice service. Good room. Great location, right at Gotanda station. I was on and off the JR Yamamote line a lot, using my JR pass, just a couple of stops to Shibuya, couple more to Shinjuku; the other way it’s about five stops to the monorail to the airport (JR pass works for that too) and a few more to Ginza and Tokyo Station. I did have a hard time finding the hotel entrance, wandered around the station and the surrounding block for a while, Google maps not much help in such a complicated space.
- David (10/5): - Surprisingly, despite being built directly over a busy train station, the interior of the hotel was very quiet. However, trying to find the entrance from the station was tricky. There is an unmarked entrance on 3rd floor from a department store, and an entrance on first floor which is easy to miss (subtly marked vestibule). They could use more signage.

- Peter (8/5): - My third time to stay at the Hotel Mets Gotanda. The location--right above the Gotanda station--cannot be beat. I was allowed to check in at 2:40 p.m., and the staff member who assisted me was quite friendly and helpful. When I made my booking, I requested a room on a high floor; I was given a room on the 10th floor, the hotel's highest. The superior room is a little small, but it is modern and tastefully decorated, and the bed's pillows were very soft and comfortable. The room's soundproofing is quite good, but still you will hear the trains coming and going. But the noise is not bad. I will certainly consider staying there again when I return to Tokyo!
- Junko (10/5): - I loved the experience! Great ambience, great little details like bath salts, free coffee, a microwave, and multiple options for pillows. They even offered to lend a hair iron! Incredible staff and amazing establishment.
- June (10/5): - It is easier to check in if the staffs enter the customers' information instead of tired customers trying to figure it out. The facility is very clean. The amenities are great - quality of coffee was excellent.

- Siew Cheng (10/5): Convenient and no fuss hotel - Convenient with lots of eateries around the vicinity. Basic hotel. Easy to check in. No fuss. No gym facilities but able to jog along meguro riverbank.

- Vincci (10/5): - Love this hotel so much! Super convenient! It’s just a step from JR to Hotel. Although rooms are small, it’s in modern renovation. Staffs are doing well for all your needs. Highly recommend and will choose again for next visit.
- Melodee (10/5): - Very convenient location in Gotanda train station. Staff is very helpful & polite. Highly recommend if looking to stay near train station. Rooms were very quiet. You cannot hear the trains.
