Special mention should be made of the professional and attentive service provided by Anil and his colleagues, Pavan and Arshad. The rooms are very clean and tastefully decorated. The beach is sandy, with a gentle slope, and the water is exceptionally warm in September. The pool also deserves praise – comfortable loungers, pleasant and clean water. The lobby is spacious and tastefully decorated. The food is delicious, although there's not much choice and is repetitive. The only downsides are the lack of variety and the lack of snacks at the pool bar (drinks only) – but these are minor drawbacks compared to the many positives of this place. We had a very enjoyable vacation!

The hotel is very cozy, with beach and pool, and large and clean rooms. The breakfast has everything and more than you could possibly eat. - losianx (8/5): Vida Umm Al Quwain… - We stayed here for four nights as we had been to many parts of the UAE but had never visited Umm Al Quwain. We arrived by taxi and had a warm and friendly greeting where our luggage was taken and we were introduced to reception. We arrived around 8am and check in was not until the afternoon but they kindly accommodated us early and showed us to our room. The room was nice but a bit rough around the edges (see some pictures) with damaged tiles and a damaged door stop in the bathroom, and some poor finishes around the room. The room seemed more like four star quality rather than five star but was still very clean and pleasant. There are USB sockets in the bedroom, an iron and ironing board, a safe, and bottled water, which are all useful. We were impressed by house keeping who kept the room immaculate during our stay, and who were even kind enough to hang our wet swimwear outside. The hotel itself all looks nice and smells divine. There is a large reception, a gym, a spa and a restaurant. We were staying on an all inclusive basis and food we had was all reasonably good quality and tasty - with a buffet breakfast, a small lunchtime menu that rotated every three days, and a buffet dinner. We found the food quite repetitive but it’s a small hotel so we understand that they cannot compete with the buffets at bigger resorts, however, the food was always fresh and warm. I do think if you are staying on an all inclusive basis you should be able to order food around the pool, as the menu was not much different from the lunch menu in the restaurant and I feel a five star hotel should include this option without additional cost. I also feel that the cocktails on offer are too limited and far more should be included for all inclusive guests at a 5 star hotel. The beach is quiet and a really enjoyable experience - the lifeguards were so obliging always offering us towels and helping us to be comfortable. The sea is quite rocky but still a lovely experience. A few of the staff really made our stay so incredible and are absolute assets to the hotel. Suranga at the pool bar showed us exceptional kindness and customer service. He was honestly one of the best hotel employees we have come across. He seemed genuinely pleased to see everyone, remembered our drink choices, brought replacements over to us when he saw our empty glasses and was such a delight to be around. We really noticed the difference on his day off without him. Baya who greeted us into the restaurant at mealtimes was such a delight. She remembered our names and room number from our first meeting and showed exceptional customer service. If I owned a hotel, I would want her to manage it! She was wonderful and her lovely smile and kindess made us look forward to seeing her. We also loved Santos and Azar who worked in the restaurant, who were so efficient and welcoming and constantly made sure we had what we needed and were comfortable, topping up our drinks and showing an interest in us, while some others who worked in the restaurant showed little interest and never used their initiative if we had empty glasses or were waiting to order like Santos and Azar did. They were both great assets to the restaurant and showed great kindness. Overall it’s a great hotel but I do think after more than a couple of nights there, you are likely to be bored of the food and drinks on offer, and the lack of atmosphere and entertainment in the evenings. Even if they just had someone playing an instrument for an hour each evening, it would improve the atmosphere at night and make it something to look forward to. It was disappointing that the rooftop bar is closed for the summer as in the evening you only really have the restaurant and it’s outdoor patio to sit at in the evening. There wasn’t really any waiter service in the evenings outside offering drinks so it meant that we’d take one drink outside and then go up to bed which is fine for a night or two but a bit boring for a longer stay. There is a chargeable coffee bar in reception that seemed to be unused the majority of the time and I think it would be better to change it to a full bar that the all inclusive guests could use for more variety. The swimming pool is nice but is invaded by children late in the afternoon which makes it noisy - there is a children’s splash pool but it seems to be relatively unused. It would be great if they could put an adults only pool in but I realise that space may be limited. Overall, I’d say the hotel is more like four star quality, but the four staff that I mentioned above helped to give us a five star experience. Thank you to Suranga, Baya, Santos and Azar for making our experience so wonderful. I also recommend asking reception in the hotel to introduce you to Malik, a local driver who was so kind, driving us around during our stay, for a great price. If you want a change from the hotel food I recommend Crab & Crack as an affordable local diner type restaurant that sells delicious seafood boils.

- _J384TX (10/5): 10/10 - The hotel is ideal for a family vacation, it's very calm and quiet here, we rest with very small children, teenagers, grandparents. There are activities in the form of yoga, volleyball, water polo, but no one actively shouts or calls them, they calmly invite you personally. There is a hammam, a spa and a gym, everything new is clean and beautiful. The staff is very helpful and nice. The food in the restaurant is very tasty and fresh, there is no wildly spicy and salty food, everything is adapted to the European taste. I especially liked the work of manager Aliya, always ready to help quickly, very sweet and responsive. There is not a single unpleasant episode related to the staff, everyone is very open and responsive!
- samlouiemum (10/5): 7 star service!! - I've stayed in many hotels worldwide and i have never experienced such high levels of service before. Everyone who works here is friendly, appears to genuinely want to do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable and goes that extra mile to do so. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are modern and spacious and I really loved having Netflix, Apple Tv and Amazon Prime to watch in the evenings. The pool area is very pretty and the water was a lovely temperature. We stayed during Ramadan so there was no drink or food service to the pool and beach areas. If you wanted something you had to go to the pool bar to order and collect it. Initially I was a bit disappointed by this but the pool bar staff were so amazing it was always a joy to go up there. They knew my name, my room number and even knew my favourite dishes to order for lunch which were the absolutely delicious feta and watermelon salad and the fattoush salad. So I want to give a massive shout out to Suranga and Mohan who were the two loveliest bar staff ever. They clearly love their jobs and love the guests and I totally loved them. There is nothing to do outside of the hotel and its a pretty barren landscape so this really is a stay in the hotel and enjoy the sun, pool and sea holiday. My friend and I were the only Brits in the hotel with the other guests being mainly Russian with a handful of Germans. We had a look at a beachfront chalet and it was really gorgeous. The beach is ok. It's quite narrow and it's not like a traditional sea view as there is land quite near in front of it with buildings on it. The food was ok, some things were really good and others not so. The salads were particularly good and it was relatively easy to eat heathily if you wanted. It did get a bit monotonous after a week on the all inclusive and it's not like other all inclusive's I've been to where you get extra snacks in the afternoon or you can have anything on the menu as for example the pool bar had an a la carte menu and then a reduced down menu for all inclusive. The Spa was lovely and the 30 mins back massage was much more affordable than the other 60 mins massages. If you ask, you can go early and have a steam first which I really enjoyed. After your massage you sit in a lovely relaxation area and are brought tea and offered snacks which was a great touch.
- Anil (8/5): - A secluded property in UAQ and a less busier resort during Ramadan period. Great service provided by staff in all departments. Majority of the guest were Russian couples or families. I am sure the hotel would have had this feed back earlier - why aren’t there any plug points near the Desk both in the living area and the bedroom? If one is working it’s very inconvenient and would need an extension cord. Secondly how is the soap, shampoo and conditioner dispenser designed. Once can hardly get much on their fingers as the locking bracket has a very close to the nozzle and one must pump 2 ml of liquid at a time for use.
- D1166WMkiml (10/5): The most perfect hotel for families with small children - Such an amazing hotel! Great facilities, lovely staff, impeccable service. 10/10 can highly recommend! Santos waitering in the restaurant, Euegenes omelettes in the morning, Aliya and Bea greeting us every morning at breakfast, Dev at the reception helping us with our room and Rakshya at the Kids Club. Amazing people all of them and they made our stay truly memorable. My son Adam still speaks of Rakshya and Santos! The hotel is perfect for children (age up to 4) and we will most certainly return next year.

Des les premiers pas dans l’hôtel, nous nous sommes sentis dans un cocon de relaxation avec piscine et mer au choix pour la journée et les activités nautiques et sportives à disposition. Le cours de tennis est top et le bar rooftop très sympa pour les soirées. Seul bémol, le café du petit déjeuner, pas très bon, donc nous avons opté pour le thé, le reste était plus que parfait :)

- Lars (4/5): - Die Ankunft um 8 Uhr morgends war der reinste Horror. Keine verfügbaren Zimmer vor 15 Uhr, eine volle Hotellobby bedingt durch Abreisen und ein sehr unfreundlicher Empfangsmitarbeiter- der uns 3 Zimmer nach 12 Uhr für einen erheblichen Kostenaufschlag für besagte, ehere Nutzung von 3 Stunden früher anbot. Das Hotel selbst ist schön, allerdings mangelt es hier und da an Hygiene und alles, trotz HP kostet beim Frühstück einen Aufschlag. Selbst Wasser mit Kohlensäure. Bedingt durch externe Badegäste (Day Spa) kommt es bei regem Betrieb zu Engpässen beim Service und zu langen Wartezeiten. Das Essen bei gebuchter HP ist äußerst eintönig. Man kann tagtäglich aus einer Karte von 3 bzw 4 Gerichten je Gang auswählen. Ordert man dann auf Selbstkosten beispielsweise Roomservice, bezahlt man für eine Flasche Prosecco 300 AED und wartet 40 Minuten darauf. Selbst der Erhalt eines simplen Eiscafés in der Lobby war nach 20 Minuten erst möglich. Zum krönenden Abschluß nach 9 Nächten wurden gefragt, ob wir Bademäntel kaufen wollten?! Diese erhielten wir auf unseren 3 Zimmern nicht ersetzt, nach Benutzung und Bitte um Austausch an Tag 2 !! Wohl fehlen diese offenbar öfters nach Check Outs...

The hotel is a little oasis in a not particularly nice area. If you are looking for nightlife or a choice of good restaurants then this isn’t the area for you. Having said that if you are happy to stay put the Vida beach offers everything. Very friendly staff, very well appointed, clean bedrooms and a first class restaurant. It is directly on its own beach with plenty of staff to help you providing towels, cold water and sun cream. There is also a very nice infinity pool and separate children’s pool. There is a tennis court and some water sports. Substantial buffet meals are served in the restaurant. Again with helpful staff. Chef Al Bahri bakes all the pastries, breads and cakes in house and they are delicious. You can order fresh eggs Benedict too. Very good choice on the buffet in the evening. Many guests were on an all inclusive tariff which with the lack of restaurants near by is definitely a good option. Naomi on Reception and Sahar maintenance were very helpful. I would highly recommend for a few days of R&R.

Thanks to Amr, Bahar, Saddam you we're very attentive and always on hand if we needed you. Everyone was so kind and helpful.

However, I don’t feel I received good value for money considering how much I paid for my stay: My room with a city view consisted of a construction site and empty land. Room cleanliness was questionable on seeing that used mugs were not washed properly and still had remnants from previous use - making me question what else hadn’t been cleaned properly. Used bathrobes were taken and not replaced. The mechanism on the balcony door was broken so I was unable to close the door on my first night (room became very cold overnight) and although “fixed” - I was then unable to open the door to access the balcony. I’ll be visiting the area quite often over the next few years - but will not use this hotel again.
