Giancarlo (9/5): Excellent location, modern luxury, and great comfort! - Pros: Excellent location in Sunset Boulevard. Modern and luxurious. Friendly staff. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The shower is the highlight for me: very spacious, great lighting, amazing water pressure, and quick to adjust to the desired temperature. Cons: I had written to the property a couple of times with a particular pre-arrival request, but I did not get a response until after my stay.

She was incredibly thoughtful from the start and really took the time to understand what we were looking for. Adrienne helped us book the private screening room, coordinate activities, and made great suggestions that truly tailored the experience to our celebration. Her responsiveness and attention to detail made planning easy and enjoyable — truly exceptional service. We can’t wait to return!

Down to the velvety cushions in every chair, to the art deco styling, to the seasonal touches, to the in-room robes you will long to take home, every little thing is on purpose and well designed for beauty and comfort alike. The food is like poetry: each dish has layers of experiences and textures to keep you enthralled (yes, food can really be this good). Our favorite part of all was the people we met. D. Lo took excellent care of our car, helped us newbies every step of the way, and even held my phone just for me when I accidentally left it behind! His warmth and good humor were an excellent start to a perfect stay. Doug at the front desk told us all we needed to know, with style and infectious enthusiasm. He gave us insider tips right away so we would have an even better experience. We also adored the heated saltwater pool on the roof, “basement” bowling, city views over dinner, and world class spa. You will not regret choosing to stay here!! Bring cash for tips, as this staff earns them a thousand times over!

The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and the rooftop pool is fantastic with plenty of comfy loungers. The staff were always friendly and helpful, with a special thanks to Adrienne for going above and beyond. After staying in hotels all over the world, this is one of the best. Protraveller99 (10/5): Boutique, arty, uncrowded and super LA views - Boutique, arty and uncrowded. Large rooms, great rooftop and special views. After the Pendry rebrand in August 2025, the newly named Sun Rose West Hollywood remains a good mid-luxury choice, sandwiched between the Mondrian and Sunset Tower and facing the Andaz West Hollywood.. Rooms from 32 sqm/345 sqft have full length windows, blue and gold decor, nods to 1930s Art Deco and light spacious bathrooms and separate WC. Well sound-proofed, comfortable beds, decent amenities and abundant complimentary water. Wolfgang Puck's rooftop restaurant serves good food with super LA views - especially at night. Bar staff are super and Keana in the restaurant is exceptional. Concierge Adrienne is another treasure, proactive and practical. She adds class. Housekeeping is excptional. Thank you for working round my timings. Pressing my shirt for free was much appreciated. Ospero serves decent breakfasts but needs to rethink the hotel guest experience. Ospero doesn't yet know what it is...bar, pizzeria, coffee shop? At breakfast hotel guests have to walk right through it to order at the street counter.

While I was in Paris, I asked The Sun Rose Hotel in Los Angeles to arrange for a cake to be delivered to my friend’s room along with a small note. Adrienne handled the request with professionalism, efficiency and genuine care, turning my idea into a wonderfully memorable surprise. I truly appreciate her availability and dedication — it made a big difference.
R7106MSandrewm (10/5): Perfect one night stopover - Gorgeous big suite-style room and excellent service from the staff made all the difference (special thanks to Adrienne, the lobby concierge and also Chuck from Textus ... airport transfer in style!). Cocktails at the bar were some of the best, as was dinner at the rooftop restaurant where the staff were equally excellent. This was our first Amex Fine Resorts and Hotels experience, and based on the hotel staff service level and hotel set up, we'll absolutely be back!!
119cristinr (10/5): Best sleep in LA - We loved this hotel so much. It was extremely central while still being quiet and with comfortable beds. Service was excellent throughout our stay. The concierge made our stay extra memorable sending prosecco to our room to celebrate our wedding. Raven in the valet was also amazing. He went above and beyond to help out. Our rental car window was broken outside of Republique and Raven cleaned all of the glass out of the backseat for me so I wouldn't get cut driving to get a replacement car. The hotel was extremely helpful. This is definitely the hotel to stay in if visiting west hollywood or beverly hills. We would love to stay here again. The rooftop area is also fabulous!

Beautiful decor and great facilities - bar,restaurants , bowling alley, pool etc Some of the bar and waitresses are exceptional. Reception staff seem a bit inept - took ages to get print out of bill and then mistakes were in there. Suggest you pay as you go rather than put items in your room! Not the best welcome from reception. Also they pump out music from 9am throughout the hotel which can be very loud! Trying to be cool music based hotel but not exactly relaxing - but try too hard.

John (8/5): - We needed a place to stay in West Hollywood and found the Sun Rose to be a very good choice. It's not uber luxury but it is comfortable. The rooms were decent sized and while somewhat dated, they were very clean. Service was excellent at the front desk and we found the valet and bell team to be responsive. The restaurant was ok but there are many nearby options. The location is excellent.

The restaurant on third floor definitely has teething issues. We went for breakfast and the service was slow, with the hostess incredibly rude when we asked about our coffees ( 30 minutes wait and lukewarm). Furthermore pool facilities were closed during the morning of checkout :(

Wonderful staff will great your Uber and each time the door is graciously held open for you to return with bags of See’s Candies from the very nearby Grove Shopping Centre. Concierge team there to greet you next (shoutout to Adrienne and Hector 🙏) and be the friend you may need on any given morning after a good night out. You’re in the heart of it and it’s a cocoon of modern elegance. Great shower, too. Hot!

Great room, comfy beds, excellent Wolfgang Puck restaurant on the roof top called Merois. Delicious breakfast in the same room. An amazing roof top pool and bar with spectacular views of LA. In the basement there is a hidden party room with a two lane bowling alley and stunning art deco bar and furnishings. Made great friends with Adrienne on the concierge desk who helped us navigate the hotel and local hot spots. 5 stars all around.

Ruxandra (10/5): Awesome stay in WeHo - From the moment you step into the hotel, you get a sense of modern luxury, from the warm welcome from the staff to the stylish design. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and nicely designed. I loved the bathroom lighting, which is perfect for getting ready, the speaker, and the view of LA which was chef’s kiss. The rooftop bar and restaurant are perfect spots to relax, and the heated pool invites you to spend the whole day in. The music venue is intimate and cozy, creating the perfect vibe for a night out (or a night in rather). As an added bonus, the hotel is within walking distance of great cafes and shopping areas, making it a great base to explore WeHo. My only complaint would be that the restaurant and bar didn’t offer many vegetarian options, would've loved to see a bit more variety there.
johnsC4597SS (2/5): Shockingly Bad Service – New Management Has Ruined This Hotel - This property used to be the Pendry and was exceptional. Unfortunately, as of August 1, 2025, it’s now the Sun Rose Hotel under new management — and it’s an absolute disaster. I stayed in a suite on August 7, and the service failures were staggering. Breakfast Debacle – I placed a room service order for breakfast and was told it would take 30 minutes. Nearly an hour later, nothing had arrived. I called twice for an update but got no answers. Over an hour after ordering, I finally got a call saying they were out of cheese for the omelet — meaning they hadn’t even started cooking. Breakfast arrived an hour and a half after I ordered, with no apology or acknowledgment of how ridiculous the delay was or how poor the communication had been. Bell Service Chaos – At checkout, I requested bell service for my bags. After waiting over 30 minutes, I took most of my bags down to the valet myself, where I found the bellman just standing around — apparently unaware I had requested help. When they finally went to get my remaining bags, it took another 30 minutes. At one point, I went to the front desk to ask for my room key so I could get the rest of my bags myself. The front desk manager casually mentioned she had just given her key to the bellman — which was strange, considering bellmen should already have access to guest rooms they’re assigned to service. It took so long to get my bags to my car that I was then late for where I needed to be next. Spa Harassment – Two days after checking out, I received a call from the hotel spa demanding to know why I hadn’t shown up for a spa appointment — one supposedly scheduled for a day after my departure. I had never booked any such appointment. The caller was not only rude but demanded a credit card to charge me for a treatment I never scheduled. This is supposed to be a five-star hotel, but in reality, the Motel 6 offers better service. The new management has completely destroyed what used to be one of West Hollywood’s best properties. I will not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it until they learn how to run a hotel.

jetsetanna (8/5): A lovely hotel - This hotel is beautifully set on Sunset Blvd with stunning interiors. The room is well sized with a comfortable bed, great food, and a relaxing pool. We had a car and valet was always friendly and quick to retrieve our car. We stayed for two nights, and unfortunately both nights there were issues with lack of hot water. We were told this was a hotel wide issue and the staff was amazing in updating us, though unfortunately the issue was not resolved before we checked out. That being said, the hotel was great and did take money off our bill due to the inconvenience, which was a really nice touch. Overall, a class act from this hotel and I would definitely return.

Dustin provided incredible personalised service each day and really helped make our stay special. - Location - close to all the bars and restaurants we wanted to hit in West Hollywood. - Rooms were spacious - Would have liked a bath (as there was definitely loads of space in the bathroom), but I think these are rare in the location anyway. - The new management has ended the free car service which was advertised at the time of booking, but we were able to get Ubers everywhere pretty easily

Die Lobby, die Zimmer sowie der Rooftop-Pool sind einzigartig, und die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind sensationell. Auch das Restaurant ist wirklich sehr schön. Der Valet-Service könnte noch etwas professioneller geschult werden – das Team ist noch bei weitem nicht auf dem Niveau des Personals an der Rezeption. Ansonsten gibt es nichts zu beanstanden.

Sinead (2/5): The hotel presents itself as a luxury property, but the experience did not reflect that standard. I have received better - To begin with the positives, the concierge was helpful and polite. The pool attendants were friendly and professional. Housekeeping staff were consistently pleasant. These team members stood out, but unfortunately the rest of the stay did not meet expectations. The room was average and in need of updating. A coffee machine was provided but no cups, only glasses. The same applied to the tea selection. The minibar was set up with a timed system that automatically charges if the door is left open too long. These details created an impression of carelessness and a lack of guest-centered thinking. There was also something worth mentioning that many luxury hotel guests will notice: the scent. Most high-end hotels have a signature fragrance that sets the tone when you enter. Whether it’s the One Hotel or The FIVE in Dubai, the scent adds to the experience and feels intentional. This hotel had no such atmosphere. When I walked into my room, there was an odd, off-putting smell. It didn’t feel fresh or refined. It certainly didn’t feel like luxury. Front desk service was polite on the surface but generally unengaged. The reception area is located off to the side of the entrance, which contributes to a feeling of disconnect between staff and guests. This lack of warmth and attentiveness was consistent throughout the stay. I was informed shortly before arrival that the hotel would be rebranding. However, the notice was given too close to the check-in date to make any realistic changes to the booking without incurring a significantly higher cost. I had booked several months in advance at a competitive rate. By the time I was made aware of the rebrand, there were no affordable alternatives in the area. Had I been given sufficient notice, I would have stayed elsewhere. On the night of the rebrand, I received emails between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. about incorrect minibar charges. I had not used any of the items. The emails disrupted my sleep and caused concern. When I called reception, there was no helpful response. The next morning, I raised the issue again and was met with the same indifference and no resolution. The following day, I returned to my room after housekeeping and noticed that minibar items had been removed.

Cosmopolitan55912 (2/5): Approach with care! - Having booked a Skyline room 8 months ago for a family holiday to LA, I received notification 6 days before arrival that the hotel couldn’t honour my booking due to a ‘temporary closure of the hotel’. I’ve had to find alternative accommodation at short notice yet on the hotel’s own website the same room can still be booked for the same dates! Very strange and seems linked to the recent ownership from Pendry to Sun Rose but not the experience you expect from a reputable 5 stay hotel!

Huge problems checking in, waited over 2 hours for a terrible room. Great staff we know from before are trying to go elsewhere. It’s a mess. There are so many great hotels in LA, run from the Sun Rose!
