• Kimho (7/5): Good location for less touristic area - Location is good for exploring less touristic area of Tokyo, near the 2nd hand street. 8 min walk to train station, 20 min journey to Shinjuku. 24 hr supermarket nearby with lots of local eateries. Easy to access with entry code. Needs better kitchen utensils. Overall furniture and beddings should be improved.

• Heather (10/5): Clean, comfortable, private apartment. Would recommend. - Very clean, very comfortable, and close proximity to lawson’s, family mart, and two subway lines. It was also very quiet at night which was a plus when dealing with jet lag. A bit far from the main action in Tokyo. But that was based more on what we were trying to see/do, rather than a flaw of this property.

• Robert (10/5): Best place ever. - Super super spacious, ac and heater worked perfectly. I am definitely coming back! In the middle of everything , McDonald’s , Lawson , train. Couldn’t ask more. Everything was perfect.

More space than the regular Japanese hotels. Lack of communication — the clean towel package was left outside our room without any sign or note.

• Gary (8/5): Stayed for two nights, enjoyed the location and laundry/kitchen on sight. Took long enjoyable walks - COTO Tokyo Koenji is located within a 10 minute walk to train station and grocery-eating spots. It is on a not too busy main street and there is easy access into the surrounding neighborhood where we took a number of enjoyable strolls. Having the laundry , two bathrooms and kitchen areas was great- very clean, well kept, seemed to be a fairly new property. Furnishings, only place to sit was on a very small low couch, with a very small, low table next to it and single chair next to a small wall counter. Otherwise two comfortable floor futons in upstairs bedroom and that was all for the furnishings. Very plain with bare walls, so a functional place to stay without much ambiance other than the newness feeling.

Unlimited number of restaurants, convenience stores, and pharmacy options within a short walk. Having a second toilet and washing/drying machine is a big plus. The owner is very responsive. Mattresses were comfortable. Large space for Tokyo. Overall, the neighborhood is quiet, with the exception of the occasional ambulance sirens. Not much storage space. A chest of drawers upstairs would be helpful.

• Melanie (9/5): A nice apartment in excellent location - The location was excellent, just a short walk from Asagaya train station and close to lots of shops and places to eat. It wasn’t too busy either. The property was very clean and had a washing machine. There were cooking facilities and a microwave but we never used them as ate out every night. There was only 2 towels each, the big one was not big enough to wrap around my body and the smaller one was too small to wrap my wet hair in. I am not a large person. The bed were on the floor which would make it difficult for older people.

Well-equipped appartment on two levels including washing machine and kitchen. Comfortable bath unit and beds. Clear instructions to open the appartment with codes at the door; no human interaction involved. The walls are a bit thin, but this was announced beforehand and lucklly we had considerate neighbors.

Great facilities. Could benefit from comfier furniture - while i appreciate there is not a ton of space it would have been great to have more comfy chairs to relax into after a long day of exploring.

I do bring my own whenever the accommodation does not provide as most do not.

• Amelia (8/5): Very good - Asagaya and the surrounding neighborhoods (Koenji, Nakano, Ogikubo) were so much fun to explore! It was super easy to get the door code and get set up, plus the hosts were very easy to contact and always responded quickly to any questions we had. Best part was having a washing machine so we could reset after days of living out of our backpack... so convenient! We would have loved some smaller lights, like to read at night or to wake up to... it was definitely hard when my husband wanted to sleep but I wanted to stay up and it was either the high bright ceiling lights or no lights at all. We also loved the space to stay in for 6 days but there was no place to put our clothes besides a standing coat rack downstairs... would have loved a drawer or even a cubbie to lay out clothes for the week.

Very handy to have a washer. Lack of soundproofing to next door was really bad. And a gap under the door to the apartment meant cooking smells also came into my space. The road noise was quite irritating at night. The apartment was quite dark with limited natural light. Lack of storage for clothes.

• Shannon (10/5): Wonderful Apartment in Perfect Location - This was our favorite part of our 6 week vacation! The living area is comfortable and the kitchen was sufficient with tea maker, utensils, cups etc. The washing machine was great and the drying rack provided worked out perfectly. The upstairs bedroom is huge- designed to accommodate 4- and included a half-bath. The host was wonderful and was easy to communicate with in advance and while we were there. The neighborhood is the best with restaurants nearby (Bar Nomada, Public, Daikoku) and numerous more dining options along the Star Road area near the train station. Mini-marts are only steps away and its only a 7 minute walk to the train station and large grocery store. Hope to come back here again. That I had to leave.

• H (7/5): Good location but below the expected service. - Location was great, nice to stay by the station & convenient store. I stayed the same place a year ago when managed by Air bnb. Since handled by Booking.com, price went up by 50%, e-mail communication was poor and not responsive. Toilet was extremely smelly as there was moldy papers stuck between toilet seat and bowl. Overall, the quality of the accommodation went down for higher price.

• Chihiro (9/5): A great small place to use as a base - Proximity to station; lots of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and a shopping street. Air con working well (so needed in the heat!). We stayed with two children for 8 nights and having a washing machine and washing liquid provided was very useful. Didn’t use the cooker (just one electric hob) but it helped a lot to have the microwave and fridge/freezer. A new clean place. Mattresses and duvets are comfortable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a base to go out and about. Good communication from the owner :-) The sofa and the coffee table in the lounge/kitchen were too small for a family of four, and it was a bit hard to sit together to eat. Two kids sat down on sofa, we sat on the chairs holding plates/bowls. There is little space for putting anything on the kitchen surface or the bathroom sink.

I did not feel like I was in touristy part of Tokyo, and that is a good thing on my opinion. All my questions were answered quickly. Love having a washing machine. I would have liked access on the television to Netflix to chill out to before bed.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - 駅から7分程で道中はスーパー・飲食店もあり立地が凄く良いです。 室内も清潔で良かったのですがフローリングの為ホコリが目立つのでクイックルワイパーなどが置いてあるともっと良いと思います。壁は薄いと思います。隣の音が結構響いて来ます。
