Guest Reviews
- Edgar eduardo (8/5): Quick stay in Cancun - Clean, close to dining options.
- Vinod K (6/5): HV Travels - Not very comfortable stay and staff not very friendly.
- Luis (8/5): - Missing blanket
- Yusniel (10/5): - Nice room
- Yanet (10/5): - Great
- naxiely (10/5): Todo bien - El hotel muy bueno solo está alado de un bar y en la noche hay mucho ruido, pero todo bien, igual el desayuno rico
- Marcaus (10/5): - Very modern and clean facility, my only complaints would be the mattress is stiff an only a sheet to sleep with.
- Chris (10/5): - Great place for the price
- John (10/5): - Very comfortable stay. Nice shower, comfy bed, and since we specifically asked for interior room had no noise even though you can walk right out of hotel and are right in the center. About a 7 minute walk to the ado station. The park nearby has tons of food stands to grab an elote and tons of other goodies.
- Monica (10/5): - Great place central to everything.
- Monica (8/5): - Good location
- Gregory (10/5): Great location - Great location. Close to the bus station, grocery and a pharmacy is you need it
- Takuya (8/5): - Good
- Frank (6/5): - Check in man was uninterested. Let me stand there because he was apparently doing something on his desk. Not horrible but not welcoming. Room and bed were small but comfortable and the shower was the best.
- Abdullah (10/5): - Really good hotel for the price. Nothing fancy like the hotelzone hotels but if you want authentic local vibes downtown is the place to stay and everything is cheaper as well.
AC worked good free gated parking was a great perk as well.
- Brian (8/5): - NICE LOCATION GOT TO SEE DOWNTOWN CANCUN AMD WAS EASY TO WALK TO BUS STATION FOR AIRPORT TRANSPORT, SMALL ROOM BUT VERY CLEAN A SAFE WOULD BE NICE, VERY SPACIOUS SHOWER.
- BRITTNAY KAYLEEN MEKASHA (10/5): - Luma was such an amazing hotel for our first time in Mexico. The staff at the front desk were amazing, helped us get taxis that weren't trying to over charge us and were overall so polite.
- Sharon (10/5): - Everything was to our satisfaction. We would appreciate a refrigerator in the room or that they could have ice machines.
- Douglas (8/5): - Noisy neighborhood bar that starts to play music at 10 p.m. and it doesn't stop until 04:00
Extremely difficult to sleep with the "thump, thump, thump" going all night. The hotel and room were good. I will not stay at this hotel in the future.
- John ANDREW (6/5): OK for a night .... - Pretty basic, nofrills, few amenities. Close to bus station.
- ana (10/5): - I really liked how clean and convenient it was to everything..transportation, food, shopping and activities! I mostly liked that shower!!! so spacious and clean!! thanks!
- Juan (10/5): - Muy bien
- Augusto (8/5): - Good
- juan (6/5): - Bed was clean noticeable noise in the street regularly for the nite ok
- Fabio (8/5): - Es cómodo pero como está en una zona muy transitada y con bares cercanos, puede ser un poco ruidoso en la noche.
- Tanya (8/5): - I liked it because it was reasonably priced and it was in downtown Cancun.
- Bola (8/5): - Th location is great. Close to shopping and transportatio. Hotel is clean. Staff helpful
- Isela (8/5): - Was clean, new looking. Within walking distance of the bus terminal. Lots of stores and restaurants nearby
- Melissa S (8/5): - I've stayed here before and I will be staying here again in the future. I was a bit disappointed by the elevator not running this trip, but I was only on the second floor. Also, it was a bit noisy this time due to construction being done next door - but the work is going very fast and shouldn't be a problem for long. It's very close to some great quesadillas and very good restaurants.
- Ana (6/5): - This hotel is close to the ADO terminal, very convenient.
I spent one night, it was a Friday. I couldn’t sleep because I could hear a lot of people talking and loud music all night. It was very inconvenient to stay in this hotel. Also, the towels that they offered are very old and instead of being white, are grey!
- Sir Lloyd (10/5): - Great place to stay. They should be charging more cause i was very impressed.
- DANTE LUIS PARMA (10/5): - Excelente relación precio-calidad para pasar un día o dos en el centro de Cancún. Está a 400 metros de ADO, que es lo más conveniente.
- marie (10/5): - I had a great stay at Hotel Luma. The room and the bathroom was clean. The hotel is close to restaurants and shopping area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pretty good - Pretty good location, spacious room but extremely noisy from the club and party hostel nearby. Service was rather inconsistent, on first night there was no water bottle or bath mat but there was on the second night
- HENRY (6/5): - The hotel is situated in a great location, close to many restaurants, attractions, and grocery stores. The overall environment looks decent. I believe the building would benefit from regular maintenance. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed at the hotel on a Saturday night and experienced a lot of noise late into the night, from 11 pm until the morning. It seemed like my window was facing a lounge or bar. If you are sensitive to loud noises, I would suggest requesting a room that does not face the lounge.
- Vinod (6/5): HV Travels Houston - Good location, no central air conditioning, no refrigerator in room, I lost my key so when I asked for another one they charged me 100 peicos.
- Jorge Bruno (6/5): - Staff ruim. Cama dura. muito barulhenta. Custo benefício ok.
- Nofrett (10/5): - Really nice place to stay.
- Thomas (8/5): - Great hotel for the price you pay
- myriam (4/5): - Había mucho ruido, las almohadas y camas son muy duras, fue una larga noche por incómoda
- Norma (10/5): - Quick ck in clean room . Asked for quiet room it was much better on this side . The night club next door kept us awake before on last stay . This one was much better thanks
- Julien (10/5): Very nice! - I was very happy about my stay! The location is perfect! The staff was friendly! And it's super clean! The only problem is that it's right next to a club so it's hard to sleep well without earplugs but it's not their fault...
- Carole (4/5): - Beaucoup
trop petit et aucune couverture, seulement un drap. Obligé de laisser nos valises par terre.
Quartier bruyant.
- Melissa S (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Luma by Kavia, and when I return to Cancun, I expect to book with them again. For those interested in traveling to Cancun for a "medical/dental vacation", this option is much less expensive than the hotel district, very quiet, and quite pleasant. Also, the surrounding restaurants and stores have better prices here. My favorite restaurants in the area were Gory Tacos (say hi to Bart) and Baovegan, an excellent vegan restaurant. Hotel was very clean and quiet.
- robert (10/5): - Big spacious rooms
Very clean
Good quality beds
Good wifi, air conditioning
Great location
The only problem is that there is zero soundproofing - you can hear all of your neighbours talking easily. Just remember to bring earplugs and it will be a great choice.
I would expect such a hotel to be double the price
- emmanuel (4/5): - Extremely noisy street and couldn’t sleep ! You could hear the music all night and it was a Monday .
- Kurumi (10/5): - Clean
- Ryan (8/5): - Easy to book and was close to the bus station
- carol (10/5): - The property was in a great location for us. We traveled in on the ADO from Valladolid. About 3-4 blocks from the ADO. Also the city bus travels in front of Hotel Luma, with a straight shot to the Cancun beaches. Even though on a busy street, our room was VERY quiet. We had no concerns of safety (at night we didn't go more than 3-4 blocks from the hotel), there were probably at least a couple dozen places to eat within that 3-4 block area. Some reviews mentioned that they felt the rooms were small. Actually felt that our standard 2 bed room was spacious. As some have mentioned there is not a closet or place to put away a lot of clothes. There are 2 drawers in one of the pieces of furniture. Felt that the rooms and lobby and exterior are better in person than what their pictures show. Staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. No problems with linens or beds. Ordered breakfast, it was average.
- Manuel (2/5): - Horrible staff
- Asmita (8/5): - Location was excellent and convenient for travellers who will use local transport. Room size was good enough and very clean. Only point to note, they did not have blankets and neither did we ask for to the receptionist. Apart from that, the service, location and bedrooms were good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel staff were very helpful, gave reccomendations for food, arranged taxis and even helped to communicate with our next hotel. Rooms were large and spacious. Only downside, we were on the ground floor so couldnt open the blinds without passers by being able to see in and could have done with a hand towel.
- Manuel Alejandro (8/5): - We only stayed one night before we continue our commute. The check in and out process was easy and convenient. The room was comfortable although it was a bit unusual the shower had a glass door directly into the living/sleeping area. We had a 2 double bed setup and there was a friend traveling. Outside of this the property was great and we would probably stay again if in the cancun area.
- Mirko (10/5): - Great location, fast checkin, solid basic room. 312 is very quiet..
- Sm (10/5): - Very good and friendly staffs
- Najia (2/5): - This is certainly not a 4 star hotel. It's a 1 star hostel. They only gave us 1 towel. The water pressure is super low that it doesn't rinse off the soap.
- EDDA (10/5): - Good secice
- Samuel (2/5): - Water pressure is so bad (weak). Bed and pillow sheets are dirty.
- Triston (6/5): If you like A/C This isn't the place. - Going to be fair here I took the cheap route and paid for it. I had to travel alone and didn't want to spend way to much. The A/C doesn't blow cold and when I asked for it to be looked at I'm certain no one came to fix it because it got weaker as time went on. The breakfast was super bland. And the staff looked very lifeless. I wouldn't do this to myself again. Unless you like a luke warm room, this isn't the place for you when it's already 1000 degrees outside!
- Chris (8/5): - Overall this was a great place to stay for one night before we went for a week to our 5 Diamond Resort. It was 20 mins from the Cancun Airport and they had free Parking behind the Hotel in a Gated Lot.
Within their 5 floor Hotel (with an Elevator) the Room was Clean and modern, air conditioned, unlike many places with traditional Mexican style, which can be considered old fashioned. They had free WiFi and the flat panel TV had Netflix, Amazon, and Disney ready for you to log into with your Account from home, or to sign up for the free trial.
Nothing overly fancy though, but to be fair one isn’t paying for a Hilton or a Four Seasons. So for the price this was an excellent choice. If you don’t normally stay in 5 Star Hotels or Luxury Beach Resorts then you’ll be more than comfortable here.
In the same block there were excellent Dinning in casual type traditional Restaurants, and plenty of T-Shirt/ Souvenir Shops, and an OXXO across the street. Close by NightClubs too, and 10 mins to the Beach. This is probably the highest level of luxury for the price level, so well worth your consideration.
- Joseph (10/5): - Very satisfied with my experience there. Nice room, good layout, quiet, clean, good service...no complaints at all.
- Elda (8/5): - Excellent location. The front desk person was very polite and professional. Their CC machine was not working, therefore, I had to pay cash, don't know what was the xchange rate, though, and I wonder what happen if I didn't have cash. Room was clean, although the shower door was not closing and the toilet paper holder was broken. For some hours only - my flight was early in the morning - it was okay.
- Maya (4/5): - My back hurts from the hard bed i slept in and there is a hole in the black-out curtains. On a loud, busy street, so dont plan on sleeping in. I need a back massage now from staying here. Regret the booking.
- Rhea (10/5): - We always love staying here. There are great restaurants across the street, a big grocery store down the street and the bus terminal minutes away. The rooms are nice and comfortable. This is my 4th or 5th time and I always stay here when I'm in Cancun.
- KC (6/5): - Very basic, no desk, no chair. Your things go on the bed or on the floor. Ideal for 1 person and a short stay. You must return the AC remote and TV remote to check out 😂
- Brian (8/5): - It's very well located! Many restaurants and bars around.
- nate (8/5): - The Good: Cheap and clean place to stay in a safe area of downtown. I would stay here again.
The Bad: Next to a loud nightclub. The noise doesn't bother me, but you should be aware.
- Francisco (10/5): - Its perfectly centered everything
- Joyce (4/5): - Room was modern and clean. However amenities of poor standard. no fridge, no coffee/tea provided in the room, 1 towel per person provided, tv poor quality picture. American breakfast was a joke - small portion adequate for a child not adult), price charged was different to advertised price different. Very loud night club next door, hotel should provide ear plugs or advise stayers to provide their own. Staff Miguel and Alejandro were polite, and helpful. But will not stay here again!
- amir (10/5): Perfect - The staff was perfect.
The place is good
Thaks
- Johanne (8/5): - We liked that it was downtown and that there was a lot to see for an overnight stay.
- SZE MING (6/5): - I don't think it is a 4-star hotel. The hotel is old and I saw a cockroach in the washroom. There is no chair or little room to place your belongings and we need to put our things on the floor. The bed is pretty small, definitely not a King size.
However, the location is good. There are souvenir shops, convenience stores, restaurants, and a night market behind the hotel.
- Donghui (10/5): - Fabulous!
- Richard (2/5): Little to rave about - Hotel was adequate… thats about it… no safe .. no fridge … very noisy ..just about one if the worst hotels ive ever stayed in .. i left another one in a run down area to go to this one .. bug mistake.. the other had a safe.. a fridge freezer free coffee and biscuits..free washing service and i mean they charged zero…and they had a swimming pool and rooftop jacuzzi.. that one was called hotel o cancun ocean view…
- Hugo (10/5): - The hotel is located in a very good place to go to business, street food and a lot of fun
- Anna (10/5): - Great location to stay at for a good price. Close to bus to take you to the airport, to and from. Can catch the bus for the low to the beaches and around Cancun. Great location to mingle with the City surroundings. Simply just great. take your own hygiene essentials. I would for sure go back to this place!
- Cynthia (10/5): - Very nice friendly people and affordable
- Jose F (8/5): A good option to spend couple nights - I just spend 1 night at this property. I liked that is pretty close to a wide variety of restaurants. The beds are comfortable as well as restroom and a cleaned and the price is decent.
- Stefan (10/5): - The room was huge and much better than expected. Very clean and the AC worked very well.
- Augusto (8/5): - Confortable, centric hotel at Cancun. Good beds, parking availability, and near good restaurants and markets, also a good price for my stay.
- Eduardo (10/5): - The front desk agents are very helpful
- Alan Hernandez (10/5): - I love that everything was walking distance or easy access to transportation to get around. Close to beaches and restaurants. Also very gay friendly and close to a few gay bars.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Asombroso servicio fue muy limpio y el locación es perfecto
- Christian (10/5): - I loved how the room was super clean and so modern! I came to Cancun with my elderly mother and she loved the room. There is an elevator in the lobby which helps with carrying luggage to upper floors. The staff at the front were always available. They are there 24/7. There is a security in the building and parking lot during night time. Parking was a breeze! The hotel owns a parking lot behind it. Its gated. Opened gate during the day by 7pm its closed BUT the security opens it for its hotel customers. Security asks for your room number while writing down license plates to avoid other people parking there. Our rooms where cleaned everytime we placed the 'cleaning sign' on the door. I will say, if you need a hair dryer or straightner bring your own. Also, they only offer small soaps, lotions, and shampoo. So if you need conditioner or a loofah bring it yourself. Irons are requested at the front desk. There is tv with NETFLIX!!!! Loved that. The room does require a card to keep electricity open, very green! Check in and check out was a breeze. No issues at all!!! The area is not prestine but it is clean and we felt safe. Please do check out the local restaurants in the area. Especially at night. For the beach you will have to drive or take a taxi. Prob 20-30mins away. Stores were super close to us prob. 8 mins or so. Overall GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!
- Andro (10/5): - Good
- Jeffrey (2/5): - Arrived about 3pm and the lady at the desk said check in is at 4pm. I said okay did the paperwork and she again said 4pm…very rude and curtly! I again said okay that I understand. The lobby was extremely hot and NO airflow…certainly a health issue with Covid!! The folks in front of me were also told this and we all sat in the lobby. At 4pm I went to the desk and was given keys remote and A/C control. I went to the room…small, standard size bed and NO closet, armoire or anyplace for clothes or drawers??? I went back to the desk and the young man began to argue with me that I had a standard room. I simply showed him my Expedia reservation for a king bedded room for two guests. He continues to argue and the pm agent intervened and gave me key, etc for a room with a king bed, drawer and clothes rack. He was friendly and simply rectified the situation…it was clear the lady and young man were day clerks and her negative attitude permeated to the guy as he was the guy walking around and she sat at the desk like the boss. Room still only had ONE bath towel…for two guests??? But housekeeping brought one after my call.
- esperanza (10/5): - Excelente
- Pierre (8/5): - Very nice room in a very nice building however does not offer a gymnasium which I think is important. Also the proximity of a disco made it difficult to sleep at night; maybe just a few rooms but I was right across the street from that disco.
- amy (6/5): - Na
- Cesar (6/5): - The room was very noisy. They dont provide with hairdry until you ask for it.
- Alvaro Jose Rey (10/5): - The experience you get is a fair return of the price you pay. Please, the hotel needs to install Wifi routers urgently! I stayed in a room belonging to the second floor and it was completely annoying to go down to the lobby every time I needed to use the Wifi, since the signal was not strong enough: it is nothing fancy or luxurious what I am asking; it is consequent with nowadays needs.
- Michael (6/5): - This hotel is a live saver, literally. It will work for you only if you have no other better option. The staff is there for you to help you with the checking but nothing else. The coffee shop is less than average and the rooms are normal. Baths are very strange shape.
I stayed for a week and never have internet - despite my daily reminder/request-
The location is ok too.
My advice for you is: check first in the hotel zone, if is full, then book here.
- Michael (8/5): Basic and clean hotel - Nice hotel on main avenue with all you need close by, clan and basic, great for a short stay. 3.5
- Martha (10/5): - clean and fresh room
- Boyd (8/5): - Central location was convenient which makes a holiday enjoyable
- Hagai (2/5): - No window in the room
:(
No hot water
- jose i (10/5): - Centrally located in downtown, only downfall is the loud music from a bar across the street.
- Luis Mariano (8/5): Great stay - The place is very nice & very clean.
- Pascale (8/5): - Very noosy all night. I think it is the elevator. The bed is not very comfortable.
- Emmanuel (10/5): For the price a good bet! - The hotel is super clean. I liked the way the room was arranged (bathroom separated of toilet) a big plus! Room is spacious
