Guest Reviews
- Caroline (8/5): Great location and comfy beds. - Great location. Lovely comfy beds. Well equipped. Host kept in touch with directions with the least steps to get to the property. We were allowed to leave our luggage so we could explore Dubrovnik. It was reassuring to have a key box so we didn't have to worry about losing the key. Fruitbowl. With the other properties we stayed in during our time in Croatia, we had a host or representative meet us, and that human touch is nice. We had the Internet go down and whilst it was fine for us to switch it off and on again, this is someone else's property and I would expect to have a designated neighbour or something pop in. Water in the fridge on arrival was standard in every other properties and caught us off guard when it was missing here. A couple of repair issues that I have contacted the host directly about. That they may not be aware of if this is being cleaned but managed by distance.
- Patricia (5/5): Ok- but badly situated. - It was basic- but clean. Beds ok- but not terribly comfortable. Where it was situated! Lots of terrible steps to negotiate. No mention of any thing like that when booking. I am 80 & pretty fit but found the access very difficult. If you had any sort of mobility problems it would be impossible.
If I had known about it - I would never have booked!!

- Syed (8/5): - Nice apartment close to Buza gate and a cute restaurant next to it . Although the steps are steep just get off at Buza gate and it is almost at the same level. The whole city is steep so you cant avoid. Good comfy apartment would be nice to have a cafetiere and basic cooking oil salt etc

- Casey (9/5): Absolutely excellent place to stay, very comfortable and great location! - So many great touches- the host left fruit, milk, water, as well as toiletries. There is a microwave, stove top and washing machine. Air con in each room! It’s a great location- not far from Buza gate (so no need to carry your bags up or down a lot of stairs) and about 10min walk to Banje beach. The shower could have a deeper clean and it did leak a bit, but the host left plenty of floor towels and was responsive. A vegetable peeler and tea towels would be great!
- Vivek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (9/5): Superb - Very clean, great facilities, not in the absolute centre (so no late night noise), but still within the old city walls, so everything was very close by and convenient. You will have to climb stairs to get here. That's not necessarily a bad thing - just something you should be aware of. :)
- Julie (10/5): Wonderful - Location was wonderful and quiet No sign on hot water system button so we thought was a light and turned it off. Our host helped us but the hot water switch looks like a light switch so a label would be helpful.
- Julie (8/5): Location great and very quiet - N/A Stairs and tv not working in main bedroom
- Milos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jai (8/5): Overall excellent - The loaction and it was clean , well kept and had all amenities It was lacking natural light and felt enclosed
- Aadarsha (8/5): - Apartment itself was very close to major attractions in old town. Note - apartment gives you directions from Pile Gate to get to the property. You have to climb 134 steep steps to the front door - this is a lot with suitcases and very tiring and in the summer, you will be sweating a lot - pack light, apartment has a washing machine. The Buza gate is closer and easier to get to - there is also parking at the buza gate where you can park your car and offload the suitcases. Not sure why the apartment does not provide directions from Buza gate as it would have been a lot less stressful on the body. Otherwise, the apartment has everything you need in close proximity to old town
- Sophia (10/5): Really lovely stay, good induction to destination - Really good central location, good price for 2 bedrooms and a kitchen The bedding was not that soft, felt a bit old. Beware there’s a lot of stairs up and down to old town
- Ann-marie (10/5): Great apartment right in old town. Get ready to climb some stairs - Perfect space for our family The city stairs getting to the apartment were pretty brutal
- Konstantinos (10/5): Best VFM apartment in Dubrovnik - Perfect Value for Money! Quiet area of Dubrovnik but also next in one of the best restaurants. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Excellent hosts. There are ways to avoid the steep stairs, so do not despair. My parents in their 60s were able to go up and down multiple times per day. The view is the bonus.
- Manda (8/5): Very good - The host was very nice - he came right away to address the issue as one of the stovetops was not working. Although he couldn't fix it, he did respond to us on a timely manner. The instruction given to the unit was clear. However, there is an easier path to the unit, which is around the old town along the Buza Gate instead of entering from the Pile Gate per the instruction. That path would avoid walking 150+ stairs. Although it may take a bit longer, it definitely helps if you have heavy luggage.
- Cheryl (9/5): Superb - The apartment is spacious in the heart of the old town.
The owners communicated prior to arrival and on the day of arrival provided detailed instructions on how to access the property from the main gate.
Washing machine in the apartment.
Lots of coat hangers and a drying rack.
Plenty of kitchen supplies. Market near the bottom of the stairs. We suggest leaving or arriving by the side gate as less tourists to deal with and way less stairs so much safer with large luggage. As previously advised by other reviews there are stairs. Over 100 stairs to climb which is very difficult with large bags. The side gate is a better entrance. The shower leaks from the basement. A mop is provided but we still needed to use towels on the floor.
- Clara (8/5): Great location - Location was fantastic. Comfortable rooms and well stocked kitchen. Bathroom gets very damp, very hard for anything to dry.
- Prafulchandra (10/5): Lovely apartment - Very nice apartment
- Dennise (8/5): - Beautiful, atmospheric location. Those we met on our way to the apartment were very friendly and helpful.
The property was small but perfectly equipped for our needs. It was clean with tea/coffee milk provided on our arrival. The bedrooms were very good in size and beds very comfortable.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (7/5): Good - We loved the authenticity of staying in the apartment and the old town area. Wonderful to walk passed locals in the stairs. The stairs and rolling suitcases or suitcases of any kind do not match. You really need a backpack. 140 steps up was killer. Having said this it did not ruin the stay at all. Made us fit! Free luggage storage at reception was also a winner. Staff were great!
- Lbarker (6/5): Good location within the city wall - Location was excellent albeit up a long, flight of steps. It was central to everything but removed enough to be quiet at night and in a great place to explore on foot without relying on buses etc... It's a perfectly functional and adequate apartment suited for a short stay. No personal touches or features though. Was also smaller than expected.
- Jan (10/5): Domix in Old Town - The apartment was spacious and clean. Well located to Lady Pi Pi restaurant which was excellent. Close proximity to the back gate of old town which meant we didn't have to climb the very steep stairs to the apartment, but could take the longer, but easier way around. I would have liked instructions for the use of the washing machine in the apartment.
- Mel (9/5): Superb - the steepest stairs to the top,but there are other routes to apartment
- Medardo (8/5): Very good - The apartment was good, clean and as shown in the photos. Too many stairs. Be ready for that.
- Candace (8/5): Living like locals in Dubrovnik Old Town - The beds were so, so comfortable! We loved the front door facing the old streets. We enjoyed sitting on the steps outside to admire the view and atmosphere of the old town. The location in the old town was good, as long as you are okay to climb 130+ stairs to reach the apartment. We did not mind this as we were carrying backpacks, but it would be a challenge for travelers with large suitcases. The apartment was so clean and well equipped and we really enjoyed the easy access to everything in the old town. It was a very comfortable stay for 4 guests. There is no place to relax at the end of a day of sightseeing. There is only a kitchen table and the beds. Would be nice if there was a small sofa, but I understand the space is small and it would not be possible.
