- Stone (9/5): Absolutely my favorite place to stay in Santa Monica let alone LA in general. It felt like a getaway and that’s what was - Loved the tropical and private vibe. The pool Was excellent and staff was BEYOND polite! The Bungalow was not huge but felt very private and like a beach house. I’ve already booked my return stay next week! The restaurant was I’d say just slightly better than average. Service was still good but the food itself I wouldn’t call amazing. Sausage was odd and flavorless like it was boiled, and overall it just didn’t live up to the standards the rest of the hotel set. It was also extremely expensive for what it was. An omelette a coffee and a Bloody Mary for $100 (without tip) seemed steep to me even for a Fairmont.

I have been researching 5 star hotel options across Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Monica & Santa Barbara. There's no shortage of options & it made planning this trip difficult. Just now made the decision to go w/ this property & can't thank Megan and Ainsley enough. Above 5 star service was given. Both were so professional, incredible at communications, beyond competent, so friendly & efficient. They went above and beyond to find the perfect set up for my family at the best value. We will stay here because of them. So appreciate the help & kindness!

- 774martyf (10/5): Wonderful hotel with warm service - We had a wonderful 5-day visit at the Fairmont Miramar. The hotel is very well located right across from the beach in Santa Monica, and close to everything. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to an Ocean view room, with breathtaking views. But what makes the hotel really special are the people. All the staff members we met were very warm and helpful. A couple of examples: (1) we ate in the Lobby lounge three times -- everyone was so accommodating and (2) the parking attendants, particularly Alan, Johan, Chris, Deja and Matthew, were so welcoming and efficient. We look forward to returning to the Miramar when we're in the LA area again.

- MPMP2018 (10/5): Can’t wait to go back! - Amazing view of the ocean and mountains, top notch service, treated my daughter like a princess, beautiful hotel. Our stay was way too short and we cannot wait to go back. Location is fantastic for Santa Monica pier, going to the beach and 3rd St Promenade. Also a great base for exploring Venice Beach and other nearby neighborhoods. Ekaterina was amazing at getting us set up and everyone we were in contact with made us feel like at home (albeit a much fancier home!).

- Paradise47059845395 (10/5): End of Route 66 - Everything was wonderful. So well thought out. So many personal touches. Upon check in there were strawberry’s, prosecco and card (we spent the last two days of our honeymoon here). The view was to die for. The location was excellent, within walking distance to the pier. If you are traveling Route 66, it’s a great spot to wrap everything up and just relax. I wish I remembered more names of the people that helped us but Matthew Ellie was extremely professional and kind. He gave us water for our trip home and helped load our very heavy luggage into our car. Also there is a Dogtown Coffee location in the hotel as well as a few restaurants.

I took my girlfriend’s fitness class at EmWell and had the most delicious dinner at Fig. Will made us the most delicious cocktails and never fails to give excellent service. Matthew, Jonah, and Eddie always greet us with an outstanding attitude that sets a positive vibe for the night. Tonight we got to meet Deija, and she was such a sweetheart! We always love our time at the Fairmont and recommend coming to anyone who is curious:)

The property itself is perfectly located for beach walks and easy exploring, but what really stood out was the service. Everyone I interacted with was kind and attentive, but a special shoutout to Eddie at valet/concierge. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel genuinely welcome and took the time to share thoughtful recommendations that made my trip even better. Traveling solo can sometimes feel a bit isolating, but the warmth here made it feel comfortable and easy. Would absolutely come back.

- whagwarning (8/5): Nice hotel, perfect location, rooms slightly dated - We really enjoyed out stay at the Fairmont Santa Monica. Yes, the rooms are dated but the hotel itself is lovely and has a nice vibe about it. The FIG restaurant served a decent breakfast, the staff were all very friendly. Pool area is a bit small /badly laid out but the hotel is in such a good location that you would expect a smaller pool area. There is parking a 2min walk from the hotel that costs half the price of the hotel (Lot no.2). Despite rooms being in need of a refresh I would stay here again.

Lots to do nearby and bikes available to borrow to ride around. We brought our electric car and the staff was great at charging it overnight. Special shout out to Ellie, Krist, and Matt.
- Ashleywarren (8/5): Great hotel, excellent location with friendly staff - I stayed here for a week and loved the location, it is in such a nice spot for the beach views and convenient for restaurants and shops as well as being so close to the beach and pier. The hotel is lovely, the suite I had was very spacious and comfortable. It is fairly priced I'd say and the food in the hotel restaurants is a really high standard. Bar staff are super friendly and the general atmosphere inside and out is relaxed. If you can get a room on a high floor I'd recommend that for the ocean views. Only one thing was that when we came to check out someone had added expensive parking charges on to our room when we didn't have a car, check your invoice carefully as we almost didn't notice. When they investigated it, it seems somehow our name was even on the parking booking even though we got a taxi from the airport and didn't hire a car.

- Kathryn6 (6/5): Be prepared to head to bed by 10pm - This has long been our hotel of choice when visiting Santa Monica but we we’re disappointed this time. We arrived at 9.45pm after a long day travelling. Check in was swift & we went straight to the room, dumped our bags, quick wash & got back down to the bar area by 10.05 only to be told the bar closed at 10pm & there was no food service. Luckily the waitress took pity on us & managed to bring us a drink & some nibbles. Just amazed that a major hotel in LA should have nowhere to eat or drink after 10pm. The bar was still packed by the way . Breakfast was up to the same excellent standard. We had an ocean view room with balcony which felt tired & quite dated. Pokey bathroom that only 1 person at a time can use. Hotel definitely needs an overhaul.

- Kremlinx (4/5): Don’t believe the ratings - On prem as i write. worn and tired. and dirty. what a shame. check the pics. we used to stay here all the time - quiet side of the tower, away from the nightclub, higher floor. consistent product and service. clean. responsive. helpful. genuinely interested in the guest experience. now, it’s just sad. both the service and the product. requested high room, quiet, non adjoining. received low room, loud and adjoining. yeah sure i know its not guaranteed but really, why bother asking? requested feather pillows. received foam. promised a 3 pm checkin when we arrived, checked in at 410. no joke we were attacked when asking if the room was ready around 2! “did you receive a call!? we’ll CALL you by 3!” of course they didnt. have requested some cleaning, we’ll see. and you can tell the employees are trying but the management doesn’t have their backs. i’m guessing it’s a revenue thing at fairmont and the property is rotting for it. ah well, FIG is still nice. but do yourself a favor and book the Proper. same price range. miles ahead.

- ChrissySaMo90403 (2/5): Rude Management - I have been a client of 6 businesses at this hotel for 20 years. I have spent a literal fortune at this place. Recently, management has been totally rude to me and have changed policies that are hostile to guests of the restaurants. I feel embarrassed to be such a loyal customer now, and refer this place for actual decades. For example, they just this week decided to charge the SAME price but pour smaller glasses of wine. After 20 years !! As if we won’t notice this shrinkage? How about- make your guests feel welcome and thereby increase your monthly net, not by trying to trick us?? They have changed several polices at the Bungalow and the FIG restaurants as well that are hostile to customers. Despite whatever hiccup is going on with management over the past year, which I hope they fix, I remain appreciative to the following but not limited to- Fernando, Juventino, Lupe, Eli, Emil, Rosebelin, Terence, Donna, Charlotte, Juanita, jennifer, Brian and both Angels.

I also liked that it was very close to sauna, I could wear bathrobe and walk to sauna and pool. We tried their breakfast and dinner. I have to say they are so friendly at Fig, you feel so much love when you walk into the restaurant. Food was so delicious and beautiful, their steak is the best in the area, really recommend trying. Great addition is electric bikes, it was cool experience to pick up the bike at the hotel and ride it along the coast. We also tried their house car, the drivers are very friendly and took us towards Venice. Incredible stay, that we will remember for years. Thank you!

I wanna thank Eddie, Amy and Johan for helping us with our vehicle and giving us directions they were so helpful and pleasant to speak with. They answered all our questions without judgement which made us feel reassured as this was our first time using valet.

Clients love coming to the hotel for breakfast or lunch at fig. Also, check out the pool. Look how nice it is photo attached. The weather is gorgeous. ethan at the front desk was a star and took really good care of us when we checked in.

The property is perfectly located near the ocean, immaculately maintained, and feels both serene and indulgent — exactly what you hope for in a luxury getaway. We stayed in a delightful bungalow, and the hotel went above and beyond to acknowledge my daughter’s birthday. When she arrived a few hours before me, she was welcomed with the most thoughtful and spectacular amenities: champagne, a delicious chocolate cake, a birthday balloon, and lovely tulips waiting in the bungalow. It was such a meaningful surprise and set the tone for the entire weekend. A very special shout out to VIP Manager Katrina, who arranged these beautiful touches with such care and attention to detail. Her efforts made my daughter feel truly celebrated and made this milestone birthday unforgettable. We also loved the complimentary electric bikes, which were a fun and easy way to explore the area. The town car service was another wonderful perk — it picked us up after a day of shopping and again after dinner at a nearby restaurant, which felt incredibly convenient and luxurious. Dining at Fig Restaurant was a highlight as well; both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The food, service, and atmosphere were consistently outstanding. The concierge team, front desk, and housekeeping staff were all exceptional — warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. Every interaction reinforced how well-run and guest-focused this hotel is. This stay exceeded our expectations in every way, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. We would absolutely return and highly recommend Fairmont Miramar to anyone looking for a refined, memorable, and truly thoughtful luxury experience.

- Hennasil (8/5): Almost 5 stars but a lovely stay - Lovely hotel and grounds. Check in was confusing with one of our 2 rooms not available until 5 pm. Differing messages from the front desk regarding this. Checkout was also not smooth - was handed someone else’s hotel bill. Finally got it straightened out. The manager kindly gave us a credit for the inconvenience. Some staff were not particularly friendly (bartender) and one staff person at the podium in front of the bar was on her phone and didn’t look up. These may seem trivial complaints but they don’t add up to 5 stars. Hotel food is very expensive and none of us like paying a $50 resort fee per day. We parked elsewhere to avoid paying $79 valet fee per day. Regardless, I would happily return to this hotel once I save up or get enough credit card points. Beach is across the street!

We had drinks in the bar, get there early, fills up quickly. Food and drinks were great and the location gives way to the beach or surrounding shops! Very nice property!

I drive a highly customized Porsche and was initially cautious, but the valet team handled it with total professionalism and care. The car was treated with respect, returned exactly as dropped off, and the entire process was smooth and stress-free. If you have a high-end or performance vehicle and want peace of mind, this is a great choice. Highly recommend.
