W pokoju obok kiedy przyszli ludzie i zaczeli rozmawiac, bylo wrazenie ze weszli do naszego pokoju, takie sa cienkie sciany. Nie polecam jesli sen dla Ciebie tak samo wazny jak dla nas. - Mpc (9/5): Zeer goed verblijf op een perfecte locatie in Istanbul Karaköy. - Hotel Root Bosphorus in Karaköy was me al bekend, omdat ik er al twee keer eerder heb gelogeerd met mijn zoons. Ik was nu met twee vriendinnen en ik heb meteen Root geboekt vanwege mijn eerdere goede ervaringen. Het hotel ligt centraal, in een levendige wijk waarin je zowel te voet als met het openbaar vervoer heel goed de bekende maar ook de minder toeristische plaatsen kan bereiken. Het hotel is schoon, heeft een zeer aantrekkelijke lobby en biedt een erg goed ontbijt (ook voor vegetariërs en veganisten) en het personeel is zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ik wil hier vooral medewerker Mustafa benoemen. Hij blonk uit in klantvriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid en hij heeft ons verblijf in Root zeer aangenaam gemaakt. Bedankt Mustafa! Alles was prima. Er was maar één ding wat me tegenstond en dat waren twee waterschildpadden in een heel klein bakje. Laat ze aub vrij of zoek een groot verblijf voor ze. Nu waren ze zichtbaar ongelukkig.....

- Felix Mayer (10/5): - Schönes zentral gelegenes Hotel mit gutem Frühstück mit Aussicht, gut klimatisierten Zimmern und sehr nettem Personal. Sehr gerne wieder. Die Betreuung durch Meriem bei Fragen und Wünschen via Whatsapp ist positiv hervorzuheben. Es ist ein Minarett direkt gegenüber, dadurch kann es ab und an laut werden.

- Julian Kuntorov (9/5): Excellent location, decent hotel, really friendly staff - Overall this was a fine hotel to stay in and we really enjoyed our stay. My first impression was really great — we got a free room upgrade, the staff took our bags to our room, the interior was quite nice and spotless. The location of the hotel was perfect — really easy to get to all the cool places and landmarks in town on foot (which was great because we didn't have to endure the horrible Istanbul traffic); there was also convenient public transport. The breakfast bar had a beautiful view of the city. The staff were super nice, they really put in the effort to make us feel welcome. Also, they had two pet turtles in the lobby that were super cute to see and interact with. I think the hotel was made to look good but some bits weren't really of good quality. Our friends had a broken toilet seat, our soap dispenser broke on its own, little things like that that don't make a good impression. I tried the sauna but it smelled a bit funny (although it was empty) and there was a hole in the ceiling. Overall the spa and the gym (although fairly well equipped for a hotel — it had a barbell) didn't inspire much confidence in me so I didn't try to use them much after my first attempt. Noise could be a problem everywhere in Istanbul, we were lucky to see the loudspeakers of the minaret of the neighboring mosque from our window — earplugs are a must if you're a sensitive sleeper. Also, if ordering a taxi from the hotel, plan for a larger buffer because our taxi was 30 minutes late — we had planned well and it was all fine, but we could've easily been late for our flight had we not. The breakfast was OK but it was exactly the same every day and there wasn't too much variety. Overall — a bunch of small things that weren't a dealbreaker for me, but I think are good-to-knows.

- Kavanagh (6/5): Worked but wouldn't recommend it or return - The bed was comfortable and the wifi was good. We were alittle disappointed with our room. A number of things were broken when we arrived including an outlet by the bed... Visually the room also didn't meet our expectations, the window had a large crack in it and the other window faced an area with a bright light. Also not the fault of the hotel but it was sooo loud, we were on the 2nd floor so the street noise was crazy and then the singing from temple at 5am every morning was pretty rough/unpleasant.
- Hatice (10/5): Absolut empfehlenswert - Wir haben 4 Nächte im Root Karaköy verbracht und waren wirklich begeistert. Wir haben netterweise ein Upgrade auf ein Zimmer mit Terrasse bekommen – vielen Dank dafür! Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt. Alles war zu Fuß erreichbar – Restaurants, Cafés, Bars und viele Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten lagen direkt vor der Tür. Unser Zimmer war wunderschön, groß und sehr sauber. Die Terrasse mit Blick auf den Bosporus war einfach traumhaft. Auch das Frühstück war hervorragend: sehr große Auswahl und alles war frisch und lecker. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das gesamte Hotelpersonal. Alle Mitarbeiter waren unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer gut gelaunt. Wir können dieses Hotel von Herzen weiterempfehlen und werden bei unserem nächsten Istanbul-Besuch definitiv wieder dort übernachten.

The air in the room was very heavy because the room was very, very small and the space was stuffy. There were private parking lots very close by but they were very expensive.

- Bignell (3/5): Great location but wish I’d selected a different hotel - Good location and nice view from the breakfast area Felt pictures didn’t match the place. Gym was very small, damp issues and equipment out of order. Breakfast was a bit limited and same each day. WiFi is terrible, constantly dropping out which made work meetings a nightmare. Breakfast starts later than normal hotels and likewise gym has funny hours considering it’s not manned. Staff placed an emphasis on leaving good reviews when checking out but feel this energy could have been placed into the hotel.

- Πανος (7/5): clean hotel in a beautiful location, but it has some small things to fix - The hotel is in an excellent location, just 5 minutes walk from the port and in general it is an area that does not scare you even at night. The reception area has a strong smell of sewage, like a sewer. The rooms are actually much smaller than they appear in the photos and than they promise. Our room was supposedly 18m2 and in reality it was not even remotely that big.

El personal es increíble de amable y te ayudan en todo muy pendientes y muy serviciales. El spa no es muy grande pero esta muy bien. Las chicas que hacen los masajes increíbles muy recomendables La cama. Jamas había probado una cama tan incómoda. La habitacion era tan pequeña q los dos no podíamos entrar a la vez. A no ser q uno entrara y se lazara a la cama para q entrara el otro. Exagerado lo pequeña que era. La ducha no tragaba y no nos podíamos duchar seguidos porque inundábamos el baño. El hotel no está muy limpio

El personal muy atento servicia y amable. El spa pequeño pero recomendable. Los masajes increíbles LA CAMA, la peor q he probado en mi vida. Solo quería que se hiciera de día. La habitación es tan pequeña que no se pueden entrar dos a la vez a no ser que el primero se tire encima de la cama para q pase el segundo. Tienes q cierra la puerta q pase el primero y luego ya entra el otro. Una habitación ridícula. La ducha no tragaba y no nos podíamos duchar seguidos. La limpieza flojita y el desayuno poco variado

- Alina (8/5): Great location and staff, but rooms need maintenance. - The hotel has a great location, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop offers a beautiful view, especially during breakfast, which was a highlight. The bed was comfortable, and we also appreciated the nice surprise of a cake for our anniversary. A big plus was that the room included a kettle for coffee or tea, and drinking water was replenished daily. The hotel feels older than expected, and the room—especially the bathroom—needs better maintenance. The shower was leaking water, and there were clear signs of wear such as damaged edges, poor sealing, and worn surfaces, which affected the overall comfort and cleanliness.

The staff are friendly, but the hotel itself is just not great and does not justify the price. I would not recommend staying here.

- Lena (8/5): the cheap rooms are in fact cheap but the stay good overall - staff was lovely and the breakfast also nice, the view was really good. first we were put in a room without daylight, tiny window going that didn’t let any air inside. the ac wasn‘t working and we were there in winter, no idea how it must be in warmer months. I wonder who would ever be okay with the room and why they built it, it was very weird. after the first night we asked and were put in a different room which was better.

- Halabaku (6/5): The Hotel needs improvements! - The breakfast was quite good and the views were great! The staff were really friendly also. Parking 🅿️ is 20€/day and they keep moving your car around the streets, so it’s not a parking lot but there’s a guy who’s taking care of it. Rooms are tiny and they don’t have at least a terrace/balcony. Even the rooftop area is closed after breakfast so you couldn’t get air unless you went out from the hotel building. Soundproofing lacks a lot and the windows barely open. The jacuzzi is used from 12:00pm to 7:30pm, otherwise you had to pay a massage program (starts at 50€) to use. The sauna wasn’t working either.

Ежедневная уборка номеров, быстрая реакция на запросы гостей. Номер категории делюкс с окнами во внутренний двор- отличный. Разница между категориями номеров. Улучшенный номер- старый, фото санузлов на фото не соответствуют реальности. Нет тапочек, ватных палочек, ватных дисков. По утрам очень слышно звуки из мечети.

Close to everything! - The hotel is ideally located, close to the tram to do the visits of the historic part and to the Karaköy neighbourhood that has a lot of cute restaurants in the evening. The staff is super friendly, welcoming , special thank you to Ali and Serhat for their help. The room are very clean and bed is perfect! And the breakfast place has a beautiful view over the Bosphorus! The perfect stay in Istanbul! -

The hamam experience was also a highlight of my stay - highly recommend it, especially after a long haul flight. The hotel seems modern and new, but they do not maintain the rooms properly- my room had signs of a huge leak in the shower on the sealing, and it was still untouched by the maintenance team. The shower and towel rack was wobbly, it felt like I could rip them out of the wall if I am not careful enough. The outlet in the bathroom was already ripped out of the wall and just placed back in... the soap and hand lotion bottles were placed on the wall using some sort of sticky tape- it came off immediately after I tried to use the soap bottle.

- Cindy (8/5): Ich würde wieder kommen! - Das Frühstück, die Lage und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Es war sauber! Wir hatten nur ein Fenster in den Innenhof und somit kein Tageslicht, das war etwas schade. Zudem war es im Zimmer sehr heiss, da die Klima noch nicht betätigt werden konnte.

But the most important thing - stuff was so friendly and kind, especially waiter Mustafa, he’s the best. We were with a 1 year old baby, they were all playing with her and giving her some small presents, she loved them.
