• Taylor K. (10/5): Comfortable & Safe Stay Near Asakusa - We had a great stay at DOTS.TOKYO. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, which made it a relaxing place to come back to after exploring the city. We also loved how walkable it was to Asakusa and the subway stations (within 15-20 minutes). The location felt convenient while still being away from the busy crowds which was exactly what we were looking for! The hotel staff was also a huge bonus. They helped us transfer our luggage to our stay in Kyoto, had fresh filtered water available at all times, and offer amenities (like detergent, a steamer, etc.) when you check in. You feel like you're living in a little condo in Tokyo which is such a great experience! The food nearby is a bit limited in terms of opening and closing times. We felt like the neighborhood in general tended to shut down around 7-8pm (which seemed early)! There is a Family Mart within 5 minutes though, which was a huge help.
• Emilio (8/5): Good for a small family. - The staff was amazing and super helpful with luggage forwarding check in and checkout. Always gretted us coming in and available to help. The availability of a washer was great for a medium length stay. It was conveniently located to a couple of transit stops of but far enough to be quiet and calm. Thankful for a fridge and No dryer in room. The space was a little bit tighter than the images seem to make it. Compliments to the photographer for making the spaces look bigger than they are. It wasn't a major issue as we were two adults and a toddler but it was lots of shimmying past each other on the way to the bathroom and on the small stairs in our room.

• Anatoly (9/5): Excellent séjour un hôtel moderne et très bien situé - Un établissement moderne et très bien situé, on profite de la vue sur la skytree, d’aller manger dans la quartier d’asakusa et de se rendre aux divers quartiers de la ville avec les différentes stations métro à 10min de l’hôtel (ueno, asakusa etc…) Pour optimiser l’espace dans les chambres qui sont forcément un peu petite il manque d’accessoires comme des portes serviettes derrière la porte de la salle de bain ou une tringle / cordon pour éteindre le linge sans ça, la lave linge n’a pas grand intérêt.

• Holly (7/5): Good hotel for a few nights in Tokyo. - Cute little hotel close to Ueno and Asakusa areas. Could easily walk to Ueno Park and temple area is Asakusa. Very tiny room, mattresses were very firm. No bench space in the kitchenette.
• Mai (10/5): Lovely hotel with great design, in a calm area of Tokyo - Very cool hotel, loved the style and use of space, staff were all lovely and helpful and very responsive on messaging. Bed was super comfy, great shower and very useful to have a washing machine in the room and nice to have a kitchenette. Also appreciated the pyjamas! Space is tight, but that's expected with it being Tokyo! There was enough room to store our suitcases under the bed, and to open them fully at the foot of the bed. We really liked the location, was in a nice quiet residential area. Ten/twelve mins walk from Senso-Ji and Asakusa, and about the same to the closest metro stop. We really appreciated being able to return to a quieter area after a busy day in Tokyo, and was nice being so close to Ueno Park for some calm walks. Honestly it was all great! I guess other people might want to be ever so slightly closer to travel links, but we loved the location, and there are lots of connections from Ueno station.
• Jasmine (10/5): dots. tokyo is my favorite Tokyo hotel! - This was my second time staying at dots. tokyo, and it was just as wonderful as my first time two years ago. The rooms are very home-like and provide a good amount of space with the split floor design. Check-in was easy, and the staff are always extremely helpful. There's a convenience store nearby, and you're walking distance to all of the charming things in Asakusa. I also love how quiet it is at this location because it's in the middle of a more residential area. This place is always a must stay for me when in Tokyo.
• Ellie249 (8/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful. The living room area of the room was cute and added a good bit of space. The bathroom was large and the shower was powerful and hot. Where the beds were was a bit cold and draughty. There was a heater but it was a bit difficult to regulate the temperature of the room. I didn't love sleeping next to the boiler. The steps up and down were a bit steep and dangerous, especially getting bags down and up them.

• Sarah (10/5): Absolutely amazing how kitted out this clean and perfect stay for my 3-person family 4-nights. LOVE - I stayed at dots with my husband and 11-year-old son for 4 nights in the smaller room that's offered. We travelled with another couple with an 11 year-old daughter who also stayed in the basic small room. It was so perfect! We absolutely loved our stay. The shower was great, it was clean, the space was big enough for the 3 of us and the bedding was really good. It was efficient and you need to bend down in the bottom bed area, but that was not a problem. Super! Kitchen, a washing machine, a TV with netflix and everything was perfect and clean and wonderful. I would have loved to be able to BUY the pjs that they provided for us to use :) and one day I stayed home to work, and it would have been better if there was somehow a desk. My husband said "mention that it's a "long" walk to the nearest station" it was about a 15 min walk. But the neighbourhood is really good, and there are plenty of pleases to eat and drink right there.

Die Fotos vom Hotelzimmer waren sehr schön aber vor Ort hatten wir keine Betten sondern nur Matratzen. Man konnte sich nur gebückt im Schlafbereich aufhalten. Im oberen Bereich war es etwas besser aber das man jedesmal enge Treppen benutzen musste, stand nicht in der Zimmerbeschreibung. Schon eine Herausforderung für einen 70zig jährigen.

• Saudia (10/5): Ottimo hotel tra Ueno e Asakusa - Posizione ottima a metà tra Ueno e Asakusa, 15 minuti a piedi dall'una e dall'altra. Vista dalla finestra? Lo Skythree, quindi fantastica. Zona tranquilla ma ben servita dai mezzi di trasporto, stazioni della metro vicine tutte le zone di Tokyo. C'è anche un ottimo panificio nelle vicinanze per prendersi la colazione, in alternativa ai combini. Camera non troppo spaziosa ma ben organizzata, con tutto ciò che può servire, compresa la lavatrice. Viene dato il detersivo per un lavaggio compreso con il soggiorno, per averne altri bastano solo 100 yen al pezzo. Trovare comunque una stanza per cinque persone in Giappone non è così scontato quindi direi ottimo. Personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Tutto pulito e in ordine.

Great price and lots of value for money. There were good facilities and lots of towels and sheets. The shower didn’t get super hot, which may be user error. And there wasn’t heaps of storage space which again is mostly our fault as we had 5 people each with large suitcases. Other than that it was great.

• Tomasz (7/5): Na krótki pobyt jest ok. - Lokalizacja. Blisko do stacji metra i atrakcji, spokojna okolica, brak tłumów. Bardzo mały pokój, antresola zrobiona nisko by zmieścić drugi pokój, bardzo wąski korytarz jak ktoś ma duże bagaże musi się nagimnastykować, także nie ma szafy, półek itd.

• Cynthia (1/5): We didn’t stay and lost our money. Save your money and go somewhere else. - The only nice thing was the elevator. Nothing else was a good experience. Very misleading. Upon entering the lobby it smelt like a septic tank. The room did not appear as shown on the website. The wide camera lens makes it a lot larger and taller than it actually was. If you are 6’ tall you’ll hit your head in the loft area. Speaking of the loft, we began itching while seated on the sofa. The bed area is approximately 40” in height. Two twin mattresses were on the floor. Trash behind one according from my son. I couldn’t get under the area to sleep even if I wanted. The bathroom did not have much light, rust on the tiny shelf at the sink area. The offset steps to the loft looked cute on the website but in actuality were not the same in height and dangerous. We were not there more than 30 minutes and couldn’t wait to leave. I was willing to pay for the one night with us leaving. But the management would not refund anything. I wish I had taken photos of the entrance - the doors were so tiny. We were in shock and very disappointed. I’m also including my disappointment with Booking.com for not helping us out.
• Karine (8/5): Disappointed in the room but the friendliness of the staff made up for it. - Staff were amazing. Friendly and very helpful. Location. Short, easy walk to train station. Main train station (Ueno) is a 20mins walk from hotel.Taxis always available on the street. Plenty of places to eat around, good little coffee shop, just down the street. Local bakery was amazing. Supermarket (My basket) is a 5 min walk and has everything with friendly staff. Plenty of towels (6) Washing machine in room was a bonus. The room configuration was not great. We were 3 adults with luggage and it was difficult to move around the room. One person was sleeping on a small couch, not a bed. Strange steps (zigzag)to get to small living space (where couch is) that we found quite precarious. Very small bathroom, even by japanese standards.

• Gouges (6/5): Good for a short stay. - It was well located. The staff was friendly. It looks cute. The room was small, and we could sometimes hear the people in the other rooms. The room seems way bigger in the pictures, and it wasn't the most ergonomic.
• Iacopo (9/5): Bel hotel tra Asakusa e Ueno - La struttura è in un ottima posizione a metà strada tra Asakusa e Ueno, tenuta bene. Avevamo un bel micro appartamento con vista Tokyo Sky Tree, in cui siamo stati abbastanza bene in 4 (2 adolescenti maschi...). La cucina è piu di nome che di fatto, ma a Tokyo generalmente si mangia sempre fuori e comunque um fornello e un microonde ci sono. Siamo stati a inizio gennaio e la casa era fredda, soprattutto di notte quando spegnevamo il condizionatore. I piumini erano un po' leggeri. Inoltre la gestione degli spazi no è ottimale, in una casa cosi piccola una stanza solo per la lavatrice è un lusso eccessivo. Molto scomodo il lavandino in corridoio
• Alexander (10/5): Great family stay in Tokyo - We love dots.!!! Great location, 10ish min walk to multiple subway stations in a lovely quiet area. We loved it all. If you’re looking to stay somewhere near the nightlife this isn’t it though.
• Nicholas (8/5): - It is in a quiet part of the Ueno area - a 15-minute walk from the Ueno station and shopping district. The front desk service was excellent - friendly, available, and helpful. The unit was very clean and overall comfortable. The family unit we rented was a bit cramped. There was very limited space to have open suitcases, movement between the beds and the bathroom & shower facilities. But still very practical if you're in the city to tour and not hang out in your room for long periods of time beyond sleeping, showering, etc. The various controls for hot water on demand, washer, etc., needed to have English translations. We had to utilize the front desk's translation skills to figure out some of these amenities. But again, the service personnel did not disappoint.

• Ong (7/5): This property is in a good location, but travellers will need to take the small living space into consideration. - Great location, clean, spacious toilet Our main issue was during check-in where the receptionist got our rooms wrong multiple times, and we ended up going up and down the lift. Hopefully, this was just a one-off unfortunate experience but we hope that this feedback is taken into consideration. As for the room itself, although it was small (felt cramped even for a triple room for 2 pax), the heating circulation wasn’t great, which resulted in the bottom part of the room being much colder than the rest.
• elena (5/5): - la posizione comoda per raggiungere Asakusa e Ueno. Camera, bagno e biancheria molto puliti. Gradito il piagiama, gli snacks in camera e alla reception non avendo pagato prima dell'arrivo (metà pomeriggio), il receptionist ci ha negato di poterlo fare al momento obbligandoci a pagare direttamente a loro. purtroppo le carte di credito non funzionavano e ci è stato richiesto di lasciare un deposito in contanti e portare il saldo entro le h.12 del giorno successivo. Il disguido è stato poi risolto ma ha causato stress e disappunto inoltre le foto non rendolo l'idea della dimensione della camera minuscola e scomoda.

• Marina (8/5): Buena zona y nuevo - La ubicación entre Ueno y Asakusa. Un alojamiento nuevo, que dispone de todo. No es muy cómodo, por las escaleras y el no poder ponerse de pie en la zona de dormir.
• Anna (4/5): Not an experience I want to repeat. - It had a smart TV Even if it was spotless it would feel dirty. Stained sofa, concrete walls, marks on the surfaces. Pointlessly small kitchen space. Not enough room for the second floor they put in. Sleeping on a mattress directly on the floor, have to crawl in, presumably the cleaners also have to crawl over your bed. The stairs up to the living space are a death trap. Upstairs neighbours were running around until the early hours, there was no sound proofing. The man on the desk was odd and insisted on having us show him that we could get through the front door and on coming up with us to show us everything in the room in detail. I get he was trying to be helpful but there were written instructions and we were tired.

• Maribel Gomez (9/5): - I had a wonderful stay. The hotel was exceptionally clean, with rooms that felt both comfortable and inviting. The location is quiet, which made it easy to relax and rest after a busy day. Overall, a great choice for anyone looking for a peaceful and pleasant stay. We chose this hotel because we read the area was good for families, and it was indeed clean, comfortable, and quiet. With kids ages 6 and 7, the calm surroundings were a plus. However, we found ourselves traveling back and forth to Shinjuku quite a bit, and the distance made it less convenient at times. Overall, it’s a solid option if you want a peaceful base, but keep in mind that some of Tokyo’s busier districts require extra travel.
• HIKARI (10/5): - とても綺麗で普通のホテルとは違う分なんだか特別感を感じられるお部屋でした！駅からもそんなに遠くなく行き来しやすいのがとてもよかったです！ スタッフの方は説明も丁寧で優しく心地いい時間を過ごさせて頂いたのですが、一点だけ。 お部屋の暗証番号が1桁間違えており入室時に戸惑うシーンがありました。それ以外とても良かったので些細なことですが気をつけて頂けたら嬉しいです！ また利用したいと思います！

• Kelsey (9/5): Unique stay in a central spot - Such a cool place!! The room was unique, cozy, and surprisingly spacious. The space to relax away from the bed was rare in Tokyo. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great in the sense that it was between a lot of things so it was a good base for exploring. Big luggage will be a struggle here - the small elevator opens to a tiny “hallway.” However this isn’t uncommon for Tokyo so just be prepared! Also the washing machine is not a combo dryer, so you’ll have to hang dry clothes. Other places had combo machines that were more convenient.

• Adam (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay at dots. The loft space was unique and provided a lot of extra space compared to other hotels - The uniqueness of the rooms, and within walking distance to many attractions. Staff were incredibly friendly and spoke English which we appreciate so much! The pillows were slightly uncomfortable but that didn’t matter after 20,000 steps a day as we slept well anyway!

• Boorsma (9/5): Gezellig tiny house - Het jonge personeel was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Zij spraken zeer goed Engels wat de communicatie reuze handig maakte. De ruimte is klein maar er is heel vernuftigd gebruik van gemaakt waardoor het niet benauwd aanvoelt. Het heeft tiny house heeft sfeer. Het was een klein 4 persoons appartement er ontbrak echter een extra stoel of poef. Er moesten nu mensen op de grond zitten terwijl er best ruimte was voor een extra zitplek.
• Sabine (7/5): - Es war alles super. Nur leider für kleine Kinder (2 Jahre) nicht geeignet. Das Zimmer war zu klein und für ein Kind gefährlich (rutschige Treppe) zu wenig Platz mit Kinderwagen was allerdings für Tokyo typisch ist. Wir waren ansonsten zu 100% zufrieden. Das Hotel bietet alles was man sich als Paar wünschen kann.

• Mariana (9/5): This is great place to stay: great location, amazing staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Thank you. - The location is perfect, it is right in the middle between Ueno Station and Asakusa, in a walking distance - 15 minutes to Sensoji temple. Room are cleaned every 2 nights, pajamas are also provided. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you. It maybe be a little too narrow for more than 3 adults, not enough space for big luggage, but still very comfortable for 3 or less people.

• frank (9/5): - Neues Aparthotel mit Splitlevel-Raumkonzept. Angenehm grosses Bad mit Waschmaschine und kleine kitchenette mit Spüle und grossen Kühlschrank. Ruhige Seitenstraße aber in 12 min zur nächsten Bahnstation Uneo und somit bestens angebunden. Tolles Café und gute Creperie direkt nebenan. Hilfbereites freundliches Personal. Einfacher Checkin. Das Splitlevelkonzept ist schon speziell, so daß man auf die beiden unteren Betten nur wie in eine Koje reinschlüpfen kann. Definitiv nicht für Gehbehinderte geeignet.

• Shai (9/5): - We had a clean and well equipped room for our family trip in Tokyo. 10 minutes walk for the train station. Walkable distance to Asakusa. Very quiet area. The staff was friendly and helpful The room is a bit dense and the sink is tiny. But it wasn’t a big problem for us.
• Harris (5/5): It was just okay. - The location was adequate for what we needed. Staff was pleasant. I liked that they had a washer/dryer in the room that I was able to utilize. The room was just too small and the awkard navigating from the sitting area to the sleeping area sometimes felt a little risky. The room also did not allow much space for our luggage and the view seemed better online than in actuality.

• Marion (6/5): De driepersoonskamer is te klein voor drie personen en bovendien onveilig door een zelfgemaakte trap - De locatie was prima en alles was aanwezig in de studio. We hadden een drie persoons kamer, maar die is te klein voor Westerse mensen. De matrassen liggen op de grond, geen probleem, maar het plafond is zo laag dat je er niet kunt staan. De derde persoon moet op een gewone bank slapen met een laken erover. Geen slaapbank. Daarnaast is de studio niet veilig. Er zit een zelfgemaakt trapje in die levensgevaarlijk kan zijn. Ook één van ons is hier afgevallen. Gelukkig alleen een gekneusd lichaam en niets genroken, maar dit heel anders af kunnen lopen. Kortom een te kleine ruimte voor drie personen en onveilig.
