Virginie (10/5): In 1 woord: perfect! - Als ik meer dan 10 sterren kon geven, had ik het hier gedaan – dit was gewoon een topplek! De villa bevindt zich in een zeer chique wijk, de buurt voelt heel veilig, en het interieur is smaakvol ingericht met prachtige kunstwerken. Het is dé plek als je zoekt naar rust, veiligheid, discrete gastvrijheid, verwennerij, culinair genieten en een beetje beweging, terwijl je toch dichtbij bezienswaardigheden zit dankzij betaalbare Uber-ritten. We hebben hier de beste ontbijten gehad van onze hele drie weken vakantie in Zuid-Afrika (en 11 verschillende verblijven!), en ook geluncht en gedineerd – verrukkelijk, verrassend, bijzondere gerechten en zeer betaalbare wijnen. Op onze laatste dag genoten we van een duo ontspanningsmassage, ook top geregeld. We hadden de Cliffside kamer geboekt: zeer ruim, prachtige badkamer, met terras en tuin met uitzicht op de cliff. Die hebben we ook beklommen – een adembenemend uitzicht van bovenop. Het grote zwembad met de meest comfortabele ligbedden ooit maakte het helemaal af. Het team is ontzettend aardig en professioneel; ze bieden de perfecte balans tussen boetiekhotel en villa, waardoor er genoeg ruimte is om te ontspannen zonder de hele tijd op je kamer te moeten blijven. Mochten we nog eens in Johannesburg komen, dan reserveren we hier zonder twijfel opnieuw.

The service is outstanding and professional, still everyone makes you feel at home right away. It is spotless and incredibly beautiful with the best breakfast in all of South Africa. The atmosphere created by all the staff was indeed relaxed, welcoming and friendly. There were lots of nice little touches and attention to detail making the environment very pleasant. Our room (Sunrise) was bright and spacious with a great view towards the west from the balcony. The views were even better on the path up to the cliff (even though we didn’t quite make it to the top!) The quality of the food was excellent and made us change our plans from eating out to dining in for all of our meals. I hope we'll be able to visit again someday to spend longer and explore Johannesburg a bit more.

If possible can a warm vegan breakfast option be possible that includes hashbrowns, fried mushroom, tomato etc. & baked beans:)

David (10/5): Feels like home not a hotel. - The hotel is In a residential area and thus very quiet and tranquil. High in the hills overlooking the city we had a lovely view of the sunset. There are walking trails, swimming pool, sauna on the grounds. All meals are cooked to order. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The Cottage suite is very spacious with a large walk-in shower. Nothing.

Shu (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - What an amazing little getaway! I couldn't recommend it more! The staff was friendly and warm from the get-go, the place is isolated from the hustle and bustle, so it was very serene and private, the attention to detail was impeccable, from the breakfast, to room amenities, to the turn down service and other details around the place. We were extremely well taken care of, with all the tea and snacks, friendly conversations with the staff. 20/10, highly recommend ! The driveway was quite steep, but once you get to the top, it's all worth it!

Kgalaletso (10/5): My stay at The Cliffside was an amazing and refreshing experience, with impeccable service and views. - The location is perfect and the scenery is out of this world. The staff was amazing and really took care of me from the moment I checked in up until I checked out - the ladies really outdid themselves. Another top highlight was the breakfast- I loved the fact that I could choose exactly what I wanted for breakfast from their amazing menu and it was very filling. I will most definitely miss the food and views from the Cliffside. Nothing, everything was top notch.

The property is stylish and elegant, the rooms each have their own character, but all are beautiful, very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast is freshly cooked and is a feast for the eyes and appetite. To top everything off, the team make every effort to make you feel entirely at home as if you were a long lost family member coming to visit. I was very sad to have to leave.

Spotless and well maintained property. So many special touches such as free coffee and teas with freshly baked cake, welcome drinks, complimentary items in room fridge, free use of facilities such as sauna and sparkling pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully presented and tasty food. Really only negative was having to leave after 2 days. Thank you!

Overall, there was never a time required to consider safety & security issues when at this 5 Star hotel. Steps to 2nd floor bedrooms (there are no lifts). Complex accessibility to DSTV (but this was not a showstopper since the facilities are superb)! Pre-ordering meals, since there is no on-site, full-time restaurant.

Annabella (10/5): A special place in Johannesburg - This was my second visit. The breakfast was superb and the room was beautifully finished with a lovely view. In addition the staff added a number of small touches that made it extra special. Two nights felt like a week - just lovely.
