Daily turndown service plays calming music which is a joy to return to after the hustle and bustle of the city streets. Even the gym reflects that same philosophy - well-equipped and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to get in a great workout without any fuss. Also, the location is fantastic! - A4909KZdaniels (10/5): Pendry Manhattan West - The Standard for What Hospitality Should Be - Pendry Manhattan West is in a category of its own in the luxury 5 star hotel market — and it comes down to three names: Daniel, Ash, and Paul. Before we even arrived, our room had personal touches waiting for us — photos set up like it was our home away from home. Early check-in? No problem. Room upgrade? Done without asking. But what stopped us in our tracks was the welcome at the door — they knew we were arriving. Then came the moment we’ll never forget: our 3-year-old got a personal escort to the room in her own little mini taxi. She’s still talking about it. We threw a last-minute curveball brining the whole family instead of just my wife and I — room decorations for the kids, legos, stuffed animals, changed with one hour’s notice. Not even a pause. It was handled like it was planned all along. And breakfast? Unbelievable. Genuinely one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had anywhere in the world. This team didn’t just meet expectations — they anticipated things we didn’t know to ask for. That’s not service, that’s craft. This is the only place we’ll stay in New York. Full stop.
- 640nishak (10/5): Amazing stay at the Pendry West - Amazing hotel, would definitely stay here anytime we visit the city overnight again. Front desk, concierge and bell staff all were exceptional, always smiling and so warm welcoming and helpful. Daniel Ng (one of the managers) immediately introduced himself to us, was so friendly and chatted and gave us tips; as we were checking in, and that instantly made us feel welcome and that we made the right choice. The rooms are big; modern well appointed and lovely, including the bathroom (and the showers have such great water pressure lol). Location cannot be beat, minutes from high line, Hudson yards, and so close to Penn and midtown as well. Only negative, the indoor lounge/bar and rooftop staff could use tips from the front. We spent a lot of time at the bar, and while it was extremely busy, the service felt very unfriendly. But the drinks are amazing especially the espresso martinis. Similarly, when inquiring about children's menu options at Zou Zou, I expected a bit more warmth or options for accommodating; but we opted to get lunch elsewhere. Overall, highly recommend this hotel.

For the price paid, would have expected simple free amenities like bottled water to be included in the room price, instead of it costing $25/bottle. After coming back from very nice to luxury hotels in other countries, which all gave multiple free bottles of water per guest, this really surprised me. Such a low cost nicety not being included for such an expensive room feels bad.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were well decorated and exceptionally clean. The restaurant was a 10 out of 10 in ambiance, service and food. The front desk clerk Luis Cross was very helpful and took the time to ensure our rooms were where we wanted them and near each other. During our visit our friends got engaged. The manager Daniel Ng found out and got a picture of the proposal. Totally unprompted, Daniel had the picture printed, framed and placed in the room with a bottle of champagne. It was waiting for our friends when they returned. This type of service is next level and we will definitely be back.

We spent three nights celebrating a birthday and were catered to as if we were their only guest. The suite was spotless and serene. Thanks to the great staff including Deki and Luis at the front desk, Jonathan in the Vista Lounge, all of the bell attendants (including Joseph) and the housekeeping staff.

- booksa2026 (10/5): Winter time NYC holiday at the Pendry - We arrived at the pendry from a long haul flight from London. We commuted from JFK to the pendry and were absolutely exhausted when we arrived. We got to 34 st penn station and walked over to the hotel. As soon as we got out front, we were immediately greeted by a staff member named Dillon who immediately rushed out to welcome us and assisted us with our bags. Not wanting to bother him, I asked if he could help only with my wife’s bags and I’d handle mine but Dillon was having none of it and insisted we make our way into the warmth from the bitter NY cold and that he’d bring in all our bags. A legend. He was our first real encounter in NY and he was beyond polite and welcoming. In fact, anytime throughout our stay we’d see him in the lobby, he’d greet us with the same genuine kindness and routinely helped us with guidance navigating the local area anytime we needed. A consumer professional and an asset to Pendry! He ought to be recognised and hope he is. Beyond this, we had a 5 day stay at the hotel and its was phenomenal. Once we proceeded to check in, we were advised that we have been upgraded to a skyline suite room on the upper floors. This was entirely unsolicited and a genuine gesture of kindness from the hotel. The amazing first impressions kept on rolling . We then went up to our room and we were immediately taken back by the sheer size of the room. You don’t exactly expect sprawling space in NYC to begin with, but by any standard, NYC or otherwise - this room was huge. From the lounge and bed area to the separate bathroom. Was in awe. The decor is also very tasteful. Very simple yet super elegant. Very sophisticatedly curated rooms. Being in the heart of manhattan, the views were awesome. Far and away better than the photos online which was yet another nice surprise, Transport wise, given the hotels central location and it basically being on the doorstep of Madison square garden and penn station - you’re never too far from anything, regardless of the direction you need to go. The staff across the hotel is also super polite and always on hand to help with a genuine smile. None of that “I’m only here because I’m being paid”. They seem to genuinely want to help. Great bunch. Louis from guest services was particularly helpful in this regard. An amazing experience at the Penney that exponentially enhanced our USA holiday, Will deffo be back, A+++

All the staff are extremely well-trained, responsive, polite and versed in hospitality. They are sincere in making the guest feel welcome and important. The rooms are lovely - elegant and tasteful - zen-like, but with warmth and coziness, not coldness. The only small inconvenience - the lobby area is smallish and it's hard to sit there in a relaxing way. A constant background of music throughout the main floor also is distracting and makes calling someone difficult.

It is in an unusual location situated on the edge of a plaza adjacent to the High Line and across from an entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel (don’t worry, that doesn’t mar the atmosphere) and the front of the hotel is very subtle. The staff are all super friendly and service-oriented. The decor/atmosphere is what I would call a laid-back, modern California style, but it isn’t incongruent with NYC. The rooms are huge by NYC standards and actually large for most hotels. Everything is clean and comfortable! They offer in-room dining (a plus as far as I’m concerned) and there are a couple of restaurants on the property, along with a coffee bar you can get to without going outside. My recommendation is to get the lemon frozen yogurt either in-room or in their Garden Room!!!

And even among them all, the hospitality of the Pendry shines, bar none. Check in was so smooth and professional, you barely even notice you're going through a check in process. The room is done well and spacious for NY. Finishes on everything were top-notch and high quality. The location is also right next to Hudson Yards, so there's easy access to shopping and dining options. Downstairs bar is also beautifully designed with excellent drinks. But above all, the service is unmatched and whoever's doing the training and management here is absolutely world-class. Some of the employees even called us by name when greeting us to and fro the hotel. Everything was seamless and effortless and all the employees had that exceptional service quality. I can't put my finger on exactly what they did, but you can just feel it. Best hotel in NY.

The manager came and apologized and was given room. Then the Bar does not open till 5:00 pm nor the resturant attached there is a resturant that we found out on the second day asking bell man. Hot water was not hot hot !

- V1768AOdiannec (6/5): Stylish Rooms, Great Location… but Service Didn’t Feel 5-Star - Stayed 6 nights at Pendry Manhattan West. The rooms are new, modern, and surprisingly spacious for NYC. Location is excellent — right by the 34 St–Hudson Yards subway, the Hudson Yards mall, and Whole Foods next door. However, a few things really missed the mark for a 5-star hotel. The shower only had a fixed head (no handheld option, which would have been much more practical), and Wi-Fi dropped significantly near the bathroom. The bigger letdown was hospitality. As a Titanium I Prefer member (their highest tier), there wasn’t any acknowledgment of the membership during my stay. At many other hotels, this status is recognized with gestures like room upgrades or late checkout, but here it wasn’t mentioned. I was even told upgrades would be chargeable despite vacancies. It may simply be that the program isn’t emphasized at this property, but for a 5-star hotel it stood out as an area that could be improved. Overall, the rooms and location were excellent, but the service side didn’t quite match what I’ve come to expect at this level. Strengthening recognition for loyal members — even small touches of acknowledgment — would really elevate the experience and bring Pendry Manhattan West in line with the standards of other 5-star hotels. With a few more trips to NYC lined up, I’d definitely rethink staying here when Equinox Hotel is similarly priced in the same area.

The location is hard to beat—right in Hudson Yards, so you’re close to the High Line, Moynihan Train Hall, and a bunch of good restaurants and shops. It’s super easy to get around, whether you're walking or hopping on a train. The hotel itself has a clean, modern feel without being too flashy. Rooms are quiet, comfortable, and have great views of the city. It’s the kind of place that feels upscale but still relaxed. Big shoutout to the staff—they were genuinely friendly and helpful the whole time. From check-in to checkout, everything felt smooth and easy. Would definitely stay there again.

They couldn't find one of the rooms at check in. I contacted Expedia and Expedia said they sent reservation with two rooms but the hotel said they only received one. Moreover, the front desk person had very bad attitude said:" Do you still want to stay in the hotel? If you want, you need to book it now." We were very upset and later the manager came out but still couldn't help. Then we had to book a room for 3 nights again. Our original booking has 2+1 night free. Now we lose the 1 free night so who is responsible for the extra night cost? Later, I confirmed with Expedia and Expedia confirmed with the hotel there is now second room in the system. Expedia also said they have also cancelled that room so there should not be any charge for it. Guess what, I got a charge of $1245.42 the next day that looks like a one night no show charge for the room they said they could not find. (The room in the original booking and room we booked later all paid by a different card at the hotel counter than the one I used for booking at Expedia and get charged now) I have been with Expedia for years and often book like 8 rooms together. This is the first time this has happened. I don’t know if Expedia is capable of only sending part of a reservation, or how part of a reservation can get lost, or it’s the hotel deleted it. Now I have to dispute this charge.

As frequent travelers who often stay in Hudson Yards, we were excited to try the Pendry instead of our usual Equinox Hotel. The good: the hotel itself is stunning. Warm wood tones, excellent lighting design, and a modern yet inviting aesthetic make the space feel unique and luxurious. Our room was comfortable and well laid out, with a lovely view over the Manhattan West Plaza. Breakfast on the fourth floor was excellent—the hostess and wait staff were gracious, attentive, and even took the time to engage with our daughter. A special mention goes to the bellman who welcomed us; he was warm, attentive, and even surprised our daughter with a small gift, which set an excellent tone. The not-so-good: unfortunately, our check-in experience at reception was the weakest we've had at any luxury property. The associate assisting us was curt and dismissive, repeatedly pointing out that we had booked" late in the day” in a way that felt unnecessary. When we asked about upgrades (complimentary or paid), he insisted none were available, though rooms continued to appear online. He also attempted to explain that walkable restaurants were" closed ahead of Labor Day" on a Friday in Manhattan; we dismissed his advice immediately as it was blatantly untrue. Most disappointing was that he showed no warmth toward our daughter—something we noticed all the more because every other staff member went out of their way to welcome her. Overall, the Pendry Manhattan West is a beautiful hotel with tremendous potential. Many of the staff deliver on the promise of luxury hospitality. Still, the inconsistency at the front desk made us question our decision to try something new instead of returning to the Equinox Hotel, where we've always felt welcomed. With refinement at the reception level, the Pendry could truly shine. --- UPDATE: After the hotel requested my review be posted to TripAdvisor, I was contacted by the property manager. He was extremely considerate and anxious to resolve the issues. His customer service was phenomenal. While there were still some slight issues at the start that need to be considered, I am modifying my review given the property's desire to resolve all issues.

The 7 train is 1 short block away, and Hudson Yards is across the street. We loved it!

- 362fredr (8/5): Nice but I would not go back - On the positive side, great location! Right on the High Line, next to the Hudson Yards attractions (Vessel, Edge, lots of luxury shopping). Just a 15-20 minute walk or Uber ride to Times Square theaters. The restaurant, Zou Zou, has some excellent food and friendly staff, and a very pleasant atmosphere (both inside and outside). Housekeeping and hotel service were mostly flawless. On the negative side, for such an expensive luxury hotel, I expected better. The room, while very nice, felt poorly designed and way too cramped. Tiny bathroom, with a very comfortable shower, but barely enough space to open the glass door! Ridiculously overpriced extras ($200 per night for a rollaway bed?! Nicely stocked minibar but do you really have to charge $11.50 for a soda can?). Finally, if you booked through Chase (The Edit), don’t expect to actually get any of the advertised benefits…
- sukix0x0 (10/5): Car-Free Weekend Getaway - When we decided to bring Scandinavian lifestyle (aka riding cargo bike) to NYC this past weekend, Pendry came on top when we were looking for a hotel that's conveniently located by Penn station. Traveling with a young child always requires so much more planning, whether it is for the space or the food. Staying at Pendry was certainly one of the best choices we've made this past weekend, the hotel room was clean/spacious and Zou Zou's/Wholefoods are right downstairs. After my daughter went to sleep, I was even able to catch up with my girlfriend at the rooftop bar in the hotel. What a wonderful weekend!

- Fedialegiu800612 (10/5): A Wonderful Experience at the Pendry New York - We have stayed in several 5-star hotels, both in Italy and abroad, but the Pendry New York truly stood out, especially for its outstanding cleanliness. The rooms were spotless: every morning after housekeeping, the cleaning lady not only cleaned thoroughly but also tidied everything up with exceptional care and precision. We stayed in a quadruple room, which was nice but a bit tight for four people. We also had the chance to see a suite, and it was simply stunning! Definitely something to consider for a future stay. A special mention goes to the receptionist Violet, a truly wonderful person with exceptional professionalism, kindness, and availability. She really made a difference. Deki was also very kind and thoughtful. Another strong point of the hotel is its location — just steps away from the High Line, in a convenient and well-connected area. The only downside, in our opinion, was the breakfast: it’s not a buffet but à la carte, and service was a bit slow. We would have preferred a buffet, which is more practical and quicker, especially to start the day without delays. In conclusion, if I were to return to New York, I would definitely choose the Pendry again. A truly unforgettable experience!

Everything was spotless, which I really appreciated. The location is perfect, and there’s a great coffee place right in the building. On top of that, the bar serves some really nice US wines by the glass, and the city view from the room was just great. I think it is really nice choice for a longer stay. Honestly, nothing in particular to mention as a con. I’d happily stay here again.

After falling in love with the Pendry in West Hollywood, we were excited to experience another one of their properties on the East Coast—and overall, it was a memorable stay. What we loved: Location: Being steps from the High Line entrance made it easy to stroll down to Chelsea. Plus, having the Peloton Studio and Whole Foods nearby was super convenient. Room: Our room was absolutely beautiful. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view made waking up each morning even more special. Service: One of the things that drew us to the Pendry brand is its exceptional customer care. This property upheld that standard—we appreciated the ease of early check-in and the kindness of the staff throughout our stay. Aesthetic: Despite being in the heart of Manhattan, the hotel felt sleek and serene. We loved the calming design and overall vibe of the space. Areas for improvement: Breakfast Quality: This was a noticeable drop from our Pendry West Hollywood experience. The croissants were cold in the middle (possibly frozen), the bacon was soggy, and the egg dishes lacked flavor. The highlights were the coffee, fresh fruit, and the attentive breakfast staff—but overall, there’s room to elevate the menu and execution. Bar Pendry: We stopped by one evening for a light bite and drink, but the experience didn’t match the rest of the hotel. Service was slow, and the charcuterie board was surprisingly poor—it’s hard to go wrong with cheese and salami, but this one did. More attentive staffing and a refreshed food menu could really improve the experience here. All in all, Pendry Manhattan West is a beautiful hotel with exceptional service and a prime location. While the food and beverage offerings left us wanting more, the overall experience was still top-notch. We’d recommend it—and certainly return!

Ms. Oksana and her front desk/guest experience team went above and beyond to make sure our stay comfortable and needs were attended. They also coordinated a small surprise birthday treat to our son, and later a farewell gift to our daughter. It was very personal beyond our expectations. Most of our experience during the stay was very enjoyable, including the room condition, in-room dining, valet, and front desk greetings. Most of the staff were very polite and attentive any needs we had. We highly recommend Pendry. One little item we hope was the mini fridge only provides room for the mini bar items, without additional room to use. It would also be great to have some complementary coffee at the lobby area in the day times.
