We paid extra for a slighter bigger Superior room and asked when booking for a quieter, upper and rear room; which was supplied = room 306. Rooms facing the street front would be noisier. Pleasant helpful staff. All very clean. The building lift while slow, was appreciated. Ok wifi. A functioning in room safe and a basic eutectic fridge. We could not get our room air con to actually cool (it just wanted to heat all of the time), so we left it off and then opened the room window of an evening. This could be a problem here though in mid summer. There is a sign in the room saying that guests have control over the heating or cooling modes BUT this is not so. Management said when I questioned the problem that come mid October all rooms are assigned a heat mode of approx 25 C which is just too hot ! The space for the included breakfast is too small and too congested and if you sat outside you would be confronted by the traffic fumes and cigarette smoke from other patrons and passerbys. Pre-cooked food is not kept food safe warm. The shower floor drain was slow to drain away and I flagged this to management on checking out. Eating at the basic Yeni Karadeniz Aile Ve Pide Kabap Salonu restaurant, just around a lane way corner was a treat and is highly recommended. Good value there too and nice to be mostly dining with locals.

My sisters and I, who live in different countries, decided to meet in Turkey and chose this hotel for our reunion. It turned out to be an excellent choice. First of all, the location is perfect — all the main attractions are within walking distance, and there’s a great supermarket nearby, which was very convenient. The hotel itself is spotless and comfortable. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the breakfasts were delicious and varied. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire staff — the friendly team at the front desk and the housekeeping staff who kept everything in perfect order. A special thank you goes to Inga, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She guided us on where to go, what to see, and how to use the Istanbul Card. When we realized we had forgotten our charging adapters, she kindly brought us one to use — a small gesture that made a big difference. I highly recommend Sultanahmet Hotel No. 12 to anyone visiting Istanbul. Our stay was truly enjoyable, and we left with only positive impressions. Thank you once again to all the staff and management for their hospitality and care.
- Alexander (10/5): - Hotel Sultanahmet is located perfectly, only a few minute walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Tons of restaurants in the area and s grocery store on the same block. Very clean, good AC, VERY good breakfast! The staff is the friendliest i've seen in any hotel! Inga (the room service lady) helped us with everything we needed, she gave us an outlet adapter, corkscrew, and a public transport card free of charge, that was so nice of her! Thank you so much Inga! Will definitely be back!

- Karen (6/5): - Staff was friendly, the hotel is located in a good area easy to walk to almost all the main tourist areas in Istanbul. Breakfast options are limited. The transportation was good, they have spacious vans and in good conditions however, the drivers are careless when driving, over the speed limit and not slowing down in curves etc. we were very scared both times on our way from the airport to the hotel and on our way back to the airport.

- 44sona (10/5): Nice and clean. - Nice and clean hotel. It is very close to different historic sites. Like the Agia Sophia and the Ottoman Mosks. It is also near the Grand pazar. Go to the right from the exit off the hotel and after a brief walk off about 15 minutes youl be at Eminonu and the Egyptian pazar. Breakfast was great and with a lott off varraity. The noise level was a big issue too, make it difficult to get a good sleep. another big problem was the shower, the water temperature was extremely unstable, suddenly turning very hot or cold without warning, i would not recommend this hotel,

It’s a great place to explore Sultanahmet as Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and Blue Mosque are only minutes away on foot. Breakfast is served at the rooftop restaurant that has an amazing view of Hagia Sophia and the Bosphorus. Tram stations, supermarkets and restaurants are all within walking distance.
- OxfordPingu2 (10/5): Great stay - We had a fabulous 3 night stay here. As others have said the hotel is in a perfect location. Close to everything we wanted to visit. Rooms are small but ours was spotless, bed very comfortable and the shower excellent so that was perfect for us. The staff were all really lovely and helpful. It's a family run business which you can tell. We met the owner who was delightful. Breakfast is up on the top floor with great views. We found that breakfast food was slightly odd but that was probably down to our taste. Saying that there was always something we could eat. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

However it was clean and the location was very convenient to all the touristy sites such as the Blue mosque, Aga Sofya, Basilica Cistern. Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants around the area. Staff were helpful and friendly especially Han (night duty) And the daytime reception. Breakfast was good too. I do recommend this hotel

- Zaira (8/5): - Situated in the heart of Istanbul No12 is the ideal place to stay for a short weekend trip. You are a 10 minute walk away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia mosques. The Bazaar is a short walk away in the opposite direction and you have the local metro on your doorstep. The hotel is small and clean and functional which is what you need if you don't plan on staying for more than a few days.
- Mustafa (2/5): - Als wir in der Türkei angekommen und mit dem Angestellen vom Hotel No.12 telefoniert haben, wurde uns bestätigt, dass 2 Zimmer noch frei seien. Angekommen, eines dieser Zimmer war im Erdgeschoss in der Lobby. Daraufhin sagte ich, dass wir dieses Zimmer nicht möchten. Vorgeschlagen wurde ein anderes Zimmer im 5.Stock, dessen Preis allerdings vorort teuer war, wie auf Expedia, versteht sich auch und ist normal. Als ich das Angebot von Expedia ihm vorgezeigt habe, bestätigte der Herr aus der Rezeption das Angebot, für ein Superior Zimmer im 5.Stock und nach der Buchung allerdings nicht mehr ??? Wir haben für das Zimmer was wir nicht wollten im Nachhinein auf Ansage des Angestellten über Expedia mehr bezahlt und hatten sogar keinen Frühstück inklusive, was wir ebenso nicht genutzt hätten, denn essen sowieso draußen. Wir wollten ein Upgrade auf Zuzahlung, waren dann immer noch bereit, mehr als mehr zu zahlen aber danach war angeblich das Zimmer reserviert. Fazit: Er hat seinem Chef sicherlich gutes Geld eingebracht aber allerdings nur für diesen einen Tag. Und dachte sich, morgen kommen sowieso andere Leute. Das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss wurde für viel mehr verkauft wie im 5.Stock und das Zimmer war dennoch verfügbar für das selbe Geld. Wir sind jedes Jahr min. 1x in Istanbul geschäftlich sowie familiär, wir wollten den Stress vermeiden und waren den Tag daraufhin weg. Eine Rückerstattung möchten wir nicht, es ging uns nämlich nicht um das Geld. Die Putzfrau war gut👍

- Wajiha (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at No:12 Hotel Sultanahmet. The service staff and desk staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Han. The room was very nice and clean (and cleaned every single day!), but it was very small. This didn't matter much as we were out for the majority of the day so didn't need to use the room as much. The hotel is very central, with everything close-by - Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia were 5-10 mins away via walk, lots of souvenir shops and tons of food options nearby. The rooftop view is beautiful and there are many rooftop restaurants next door, so we stayed at these rooftop places until quite late knowing that it is safe to walk back to our hotel which was 1 min away. Would definitely stay again!
