She said everything was ok, but she didn't understand English and I didn't understand Japanese. I paid 44,300 JPY from 10/2 to 10/5. Receipt attached. The room they gave us was good. So far so good. On April 10th we went out for a walk and came we returned at 3 pm. The card to open the elevator didn't work. I went to reception and to my surprise they took our luggage out of the room and left it at reception. I complained, but it was no use. They gave us another room in the horrible room. I would like that Expedia to look into this case and get me a refund.

We booked the double bed room for 2 people. If you're not used to Japanese hotels, this room might feel small to you. Packing was a bit tough due to the lack of floor space.

Rooms are tooo small. Bathroom= bathroom in cruise ships. Bad mattress & Pillows were a joke! I could not wait to get out of this room. Their checkout time is 10, earlier than many hotels. I guess that is blessing! Staff was great. That’s about it. Pretty much a motel 6. I would not go back

The restroom was tiny, and there wasn’t much space to store belongings—you had to store everything under the bed. There was enough room to move around, but it was a bit cramped. Other than that, the facility was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was very close to Dotonbori making it easy to access food and shopping.

The location is excellent—very central and within walking distance to major train stations, shopping areas, and great local restaurants. It was the perfect base for exploring the city. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything felt fresh and well cared for, which made it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. The staff were outstanding—so friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality really made me feel welcome and at home. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka!

Laundry available but only had two machines requiring payment to wash and dry. Luggage had to be stored under the bed.

We asked, and they just put the comforter back on the bed but the sheets were not changed. The bed was also crooked and tilted so I had to place a pillow in front of me to not fall out of bed. There was also no working fan in our room so it was HOT. We had to sleep with the window open, and the noise prevented us from getting great rest.

As a paying guest, I expected at least basic assistance, but every time I asked a question—whether it was for directions to a restaurant or help calling a taxi—I was met with the dismissive response, “No, we can’t help you.” This level of service is unacceptable, especially from a large and reputable chain like APA. I’ve stayed at other APA locations without any issues, so I can only assume this poor experience is due to the hotel’s location in the heart of Dotonbori, a chaotic party district. If you’re visiting this area, do yourself a favor and skip this particular APA Hotel. There are plenty of other hotels nearby that will hopefully provide better service, cleanliness, and hospitality—something this location severely lacks.

• Jun Yin (10/5): Comfort in familiarity - APA offers consistency in their amenities and comfort. No frills and fulfills it's function as a room for rest and safekeeping. Check out time of 10am is slightly earlier than the usual norm. Overall it's a good hotel that offers familiarity and I'm a fan of that.

• Peter (6/5): Basic - Basic small to Midsized hotel between Namba and Shinsaibashi stations (Shinsaibashi sta was easier to navigate with luggage via Daimaru Dept store escalators). The Room was small as expected, but beds and pillows were not as hard as some Japanese hotels. The breakfast buffet was average with a mix of Japanese and western style dishes. Breakfast area was small and seating uncomfortable (like they wanted you in and out quickly). Only 2 washers and dryers for all 200 rooms, but found a cheaper coin op right across the street which I ended up using. Most annoying thing with this hotel was there wasn’t any seating area in the lobby. When faced with tiny hotel room sizes, i find it nice to have a relaxing lobby area. Another thing that irked me was the only non-Japanese TV channel was BBC News which had the most annoying broadcasters who just repeated the same 3 news stories all day and night. Note The hotel other APA Shinsaibashi (non-Nishi) is on the same street (a half a block closer to the station) and was bigger…did not check it out, but thought it could offer more/better amenities like an actual lobby and a more comfortable breakfast area.

Everything else worked perfectly: shower, wifi, AC. The minibars and microwaves are very convenient. Super clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay again.

• Kathryn (10/5): - The property is really well located in the central area of Osaka. There's lots to do around the property, and lots of places to go eat as well. The rooms are small, but that is expected in Japan. They are well equip with lots of extras that make the stay better. The staff were helpful as well. I did find some small cleanliness issues in my room, some hairs and dust (not on the linens, so didn't really bother me much). I did make use of the washer/dryer facility, but had to wait for others to finish. There are only two washing machines and two driers for such a large hotel, they could definitely do with more.

• Nicole (10/5): - This is a great hotel for the value and I’d definitely stay here again. My room (standard) was clean and comfortable. The property itself is very nice, modern and clean. Of course the rooms are a bit small, but that is to be expected. You can store your luggage under the bed for a bit more space and there are hooks on the wall. As a solo traveller, it was totally fine. The bed was very comfortable and I loved retreating to my cozy little room at the end of each busy day. Rooms have AC, mini fridge, TV, shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer, plus other amenities. There are also laundry machines on the second floor of the hotel as well as a press/iron. The hotel is also very centrally located, just a five min walk from Namba Station and Dotonbori. You’re right beside ROR comedy club too which is cool and a block away from a Lawsons (or maybe it’s a Family Mart but either way, its handy!). The only thing I’d do differently next time is skip the breakfast package. Speaking only to the western breakfast offering, the selection was limited, the food was mediocre, and the coffee was bad. Of course, this is just personal preference, but personally next time I wouldn’t pay extra for the breakfast package and just do a nearby cafe instead. Overall, a very good hotel and I’d definitely stay here! In fact, based on this experience, I want to check out other APA hotels too. Hope this helps!
