- Puja (10/5): - "Excellent Staff, peaceful beautiful scenic location" The staff at this hotel were truly exceptional. Their friendliness and helpfulness were outstanding. Upon our arrival, the internal road leading to the hotel was completely covered in snow. The staff went above and beyond their duties by assisting us in clearing the path, ensuring we could safely reach the hotel. Their hospitality was deeply appreciated. The dinner and breakfast was excellent. Note for Owner: While the staff were fantastic, ensuring a clear route to the hotel for guests arriving by car, especially during winter months will be helpful.

Loved the books everywhere although most were in German which is fine of course but loved how there were books all throughout the accommodation. Breakfast was basic but perfectly decent. Perhaps the hotel is a little bit on the expensive side compared to the range of amenities on offer but otherwise really can’t fault it.

- Slawomir (3/5): Wasted potential - Physically the hotel was built and designed quite good. It's not stunning as it could be, but the views are superb, also very quiet. It shares a public parking with recreational area, which includes hiking, via ferrata, skiing and MTB trails. Service is a nightmare. There were two ladies from Asia, very polite and no doubt with some good training. But there is no reception, no rules anywhere visible, I got never handed a menu. I asked 3 times for better breakfast, got regular very poor one without vegetables. One lady seems to barely speak English, I couldn't understand her, maybe also because she was speaking incredibly quiet. You go to food area and wait, when ladies will come outside kitchen. Maybe in 5 maybe in 15mins. Is there dinner? Who knows, I just saw people waiting for it so I joined. When breakfast starts? When I hit closed doors at 7:30 I assumed it have to be at 8:00.

- Helga (8/5): Wonderful hotel with disappointing breakfast - Excellent location, wonderful view, nice idea with the books, very quiet and clean. A "dream" place to have a rest. Breakfast was a major disappointment. There was breakfast included in the room rate but it was only very basic - no fruit, no vegetables, jogurt, musli or good quality cheese. Only one egg - no choice on how you wanted it cooked. It easily took 15 or 20 minutes to arrive. There was an option of a better breakfast for 19 euro per person which also included scrambled eggs, vegetables, some fruit, jogurt with musli and smoothie (this is the breakfast you see in the photos). I must admit that this misleading concept spoiled my overall impression. And I know many of the other guests felt the same. What a shame.

- Aman (10/5): - This was my first time staying at a “reading hotel” and I absolutely loved it! I loved the idea of wearing slippers around the hotel to give me that feeling as if I was home. I loved the view from the hotel especially sitting outside to breathe in the refreshing air. Being from an urban city, it was my first time seeing cattle, lambs and roosters that would cross the roads, the view from up top on a bright summer morning, and view of the picturesque mountains. The staff was very kind and helped me with any questions I had. I highly recommend this place to anyone hoping to stay near Hallstatt as it was only 20 mins away.

From the moment you wake up!). Breakfast is soooo good (heaps of choices and they all taste good) and dinner provided is nice as well. You’ll never feel starving because the food provided are good in quality and quantity. The reading spaces are fab! Originally was thinking about going to visit Hallstatt but then everything at the hotel is more attractive to me. This is a place I’ll recommend for all of my friend. nothing from my memory

- Gerald (8/5): Had a great weekend at a really original place - Facilities are top quality, the idea with the books is great, the availability of beverages at all times, and the trust-concept, the place is really a retreat where you can relax. I realised on day 2 that rooms are not services, i.e. beds not made, dirty towels not replaced - that's a minus in my opinion.
- Marzena (5/5): Nice view & room but everything else needs improvement. - The view in the mountain view room is truly beautiful as it overlooks Dachstein. Room is spacious and clean. Food served for dinner and breakfast needs an improvement. Dinner was highly overpriced for what it is (for example fried noodles in the chili oil sauce with few pieces of vegetable) - it is better to eat somewhere else. We paid almost 70€ for 2pax and left disappointment - the other day we paid 80€ in Salzburg city center and had thousand times better experience, both in terms of food and service. During dinner light went off twice as there seems to be some sensors and staff needed to switch it back - okey for corridor, toilet, a bit weird in the main dining room during dinner time. Breakfast was super basic - for this price for the single night I would expect higher standard and bigger choice. There was basic cheese and ham store bought - we found the foil in the ham so we know for sure. It is a pity there are no local products served. Veggies served at breakfast looked like cut the day before as they were dried. It feels like hotel invested in building but is saving on everything that is possible to save on. There is no coffee machine or kettle in the room to make yourself tea. What is more, there was not even a glass in the room when we arrived - needed to ask for it. For 270€ for night I would expect at least a bottle of water… Check in was a bit painful since we made last moment booking and hotel struggled to find our reservation. Staff serving during dinner was very friendly but super slow - we waited long for the food that was just warmed up rather than freshly made. I understand it is hotel for relaxing and not hurrying up but there are limits. The room is not suited for longer stay as it has very limited place for hanging clothes. The bed is too soft for my taste.

Thanks to the high altitude, you can avoid air conditioning in hot weather. It's just colder up here. Insufficient information about the actual cost of food. When choosing accommodation, the hotel withholds information that may play a role in your choice of accommodation. The management does not see it that way, but in fact it is unfair competition.

- Agnes (9/5): Superb - A very unique experience. The hotel is located about 20 minutes drive from Bad Ischl, high up in the mountains. The roads are very good and safe to drive on. Upon arrival the manager of the hotel welcomed us and showed us around. Guests are recommended to remove their shoes and walk either bare foot or wear indoor shoes. The hotel specialises in providing a calm and peaceful environment for relaxing and reading. The communal areas are designed and decorated to take full advantage of the amazing view of nature around the hotel. Huge floor to ceiling windows and balconies let in tons of natural light. We were told there are over 1200 books on site (scattered around the communal space but also in the rooms) and guests are encouraged to explore different writers/genres. There is a large open plan kitchen, coffee/tea making facilities, wine fridges all of which are available for guests in a self-service manner. Items consumed can be added to the room bill and paid at checkout or paid by card on the spot. The room was extremely clean and very tastefully decorated. The bed was huge and comfortable. Lots of books all over the surfaces and our windows were overlooking the forest behind the hotel. The hotel is pet friendly and there were guests with dogs staying which was nice. While we found the concept of guests having access to thousands of books (pretty much like staying in a fusion bookstore/hotel) and beautiful facilities to read, we could not find a single book in English. All books are in German and the explanation we were given is that the hotel is trying to promote Austrian culture and local writers which is a great sentiment but when majority of the guests were foreigners, judging by the cars in the parking, not offering English literature just feels like a missed opportunity. We would have preferred to have a kettle for tea/coffee making in the room and there were no cups either to drink water. Our digital room key didn't work at night but this was resolved promptly by the very helpful housekeeper lady who lives on site.

- Oren (10/5): A mountain gem - Amazing views, the entire hotel is tastefully renovated, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. The transparent shower is located as part of the main room space so there's no privacy.
- Arabella (8/5): The hotel is a piece of heaven on Earth. The views and setting are spectacular. - Breakfast was available all day and was delicious The mini refrigerator was not cold enough.
