- Ricardo (8/5): - The hotel is a real surprise. Located in one of Istanbul's busiest quarters, near the Spice Market, it is an old building that has been completely renovated. Rooms are great, and the linen and mattresses are of great quality. Air conditioning works perfectly and the views, above the third floor are not postcard but sufficiently luminous over the central part of the city. The hotel is 2 blocks from the main tramway line, which takes you to all the visitors' highlights: Saint Sophia, unfortunately re-converted into a mosque by Erdogan a few years back (you can only visit the galleries on the second floor, the Blue Mosque, the old Reservoir and plenty of shops, Turkish baths, Constantine column and also some old shops with all you can get in Turkey. It's not expensive for what you get: an honest, clean, beautiful interior, with an abundant breakfast served on the 7th floor with views of the City and an open terrace at night that guests can use at night. I also recommend the 4-hour tour of the Bosphorus, which is pricey (50 Euro) but worth it. Highly recommended.

- Stephen (10/5): - We chose the Mest Hotel for a four day trip to Istanbul, partly because of the location as it was centrally located close to the tourist attractions, and partly because of the attractiveness of the property and the rooms. We selected a Loft Suite because the price was really low, and we were very pleased with the room. The photos are accurate and the room was very comfortable, especially the bed. The bathroom was small but it's an old building, so there's not much that could be done about that. The rain shower was wonderful, with great water pressure and hot temperature. The breakfast in the rooftop dining area was good, and included in the room rate, although I don't recall this was mentioned in the Expedia listing. There was plenty of choice each day, with both cooked options and cold continental options. The staff were amazing and so helpful. My wife found that her coat had a tear in the seem and the staff took it out to a tailor and got it repaired within an hour or two. They also handle some laundry that we needed done, and arranged a sunset cruise on the Bosphorus for my wife and I. The staff really were incredible, and as someone who's stayed in higher end chain hotels with Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, etc. they were way better than the concierge services I've received from those chains. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again and recommend it for anyone who wants a comfortable room, in an historic building, walkable to all the sights, with exceptional service.
- Aldo (10/5): Very nice place with modern dasign - Good Points: Rooms have been clean and fun with a double bed on an upper level. It was in the heart of the market and the food was fantastic - plus the view from the the dinning room. Worth getting up early for a sunrise breakfast. VERY close to the market Other point to consider: Not easy to get to and you will have to walk by foot the last 300m depending on your drop off point. HARD to find if the market is open. We arrived when the market was closed then returned when it was open and the place was unrecognisable. KEEP good mental notes of the place. :-)

The location is great for walking to all the key historical sites in Sultanahmet and is also close to metro/tram links to other parts of the city - the Istanbulkart transport card is cheap and easy to use. Although we stayed in the room ‘without windows’ it does have frosted glass panels in which lets in plenty of light. Breakfast and the terrace view is just outstanding! We’ll most definitely be staying again. Thanks again to the team for preparing sandwiches for us without us even asking for it as they knew we were leaving super early in the morning. Now that’s what I call first class service!

It was a 15 minute walk from the main sights in the old city and 2 minutes from a tram stop - for us, it was the perfect location for getting around the city! The views from the top floor deck were lovely and the room was beautifully updated. We also loved how kind and helpful the hotel staff were. They gave us maps of the city upon arrival, made us Turkish coffee every morning, and helped arrange an airport transfer. We will definitely be back!

- Nadia (10/5): - I chose this hotel based on the reviews which consistently described amazing service and I was not disappointed! The service you will receive here is above and beyond. The staff were incredibly helpful, even before we arrived in Turkey they were very responsive and helped me arrange an airport pickup and turkish bath reservation in advance. They provided great suggestions on places to eat nearby (365 Rooftop Mezze was one we particularly liked) and activities to do (the Sunset Bosphorus tour we booked through the hotel was well worth it, and great value for the money on a beautiful yacht). The daily breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen, with great variety and everything you could want (coffee, turkish tea, espresso and all kinds of food). The view from the rooftop terrace is stunning. Finally, the staff from the moment wr arrived tended to our every need, were incredibly thoughtful (especially Fatih and Aykut who went out of their way to make our stay memorable). The hotel is quiet and we got great sleep/rest. It is located next to the spice market and is a busy area in the daytime but at night becomes very quiet, and somewhat deserted but still safe, as it is located next to a large mosque (Yeni Camii). It is a 20 min walk to the sultanahmet area, which was not bad. Other options are uber or taxis, or the tram (we did not take this as it takes the same time to walk). Overall, I am super happy with our stay. I definitely recommend this hotel!

It’s also within walking distance to a few picturesque mosques and about a 25m walk to Hagia Sophia, the cisterns, Topkopi palace etc (about 5m by streetcar). The staff is so very friendly and accommodating and the room was just lovely, with one of the best showers I’ve ever used. Highly recommend !! (One caution: hotel can be hard to spot. If you’re walking from the spice market and have reached Burger King you’ve gone too far …)

- Raha (10/5): - Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. Gorgeous view from our room, picture doesn’t do it justice. Amazing breakfast with the view. We got to hotel super early and they were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 12pm. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there!
- Irfan (4/5): Lovely hotel, shame about the noise - I stayed at this hotel within the last week and overall had a positive experience. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were very nice. The room was also very clean, fresh towels were provided daily and everything was seamlessly spotless. However, there was a big downside. Our room had very little noise insulation (room 107). This was due to the glass inner wall. If someone walked in late at night and wanted to have a conversation with reception and you're trying to sleep, then this isn't going to help. When there's more than one reception worker and they are talking amongst themselves, again forget any chance of a decent sleep. We had friends staying on the same floor in a different room and they had no issues. And the hotel was fully booked so there wasn't a chance to change rooms. Despite these issues, I would still recommend this hotel for it's comfort, location, friendly staff, amazing breakfast views, and cleanliness. However try and avoid the rooms which are on the sides with the glass inner walls.
- Evelyn (10/5): - The staff were incredibly friendly and kind! They gifted me a box of Turkish delights at checkout which was a very nice touch and has made their service stand out. I had a front facing room to a very busy street but the outside sound was completely blocked out. Rooms were very nice and the 5th floor common space is incredible!

- Nirapat (10/5): Fabulous! - Fabulous hotel in front of Spice Bazaar. Everything that you need is there. Even though outside of the hotel is a market but once you enter the hotel it is calm, relaxing and beautiful. The view at the restaurant is breathtaking. The room is very clean and smells so good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely going back to this hotel.
- Alia (10/5): Fatastic! (Deluxe twin room) - Good size room, staff were extremely accommodating and polite. Location was excellent, located in the the bazaar. Breakfast was also excellent, great variety. Amazing terrace, right next to the mosque. Would most definitely love to stay here again!

- Floran (2/5): - If yr planning on having your luggage dragged by yourself to the hotel and walking into a busy shops area book this place. As the entrance to the hotel is in between street vendors and be prepared to be overwhelmed by crowds around the door. The single rooms meaning if ur not in a room with a queen bed is facing the street vendors and u won’t be able to open the curtains.

- Tammy (6/5): - Location is great, 1 minute walk from spice bazaar therefore so close to everything else. Rooms very small, not a lot of space for guest luggage. Bed very comfortable but quilt too small for bed. Shower great pressure but lot of mould along grout lines. They advertise balconies on all rooms but this is false, only couple of rooms have balconies, most don’t or have just a French balcony. We were informed on checkin that tea/coffee available 24 hours in terrace restaurant, to help ourselves…again false as was all turned off by about 10pm. Breakfast big selection, average quality, I only had breakfast once there and went elsewhere for remaining 2 days..prefer to pay money and enjoy my meal and coffee. Won’t stay again.

I will DEFINITELY return anytime I’m staying in Turkey. The staff was amazing !!!!! And even though my layover was only 14 hours … I felt so pampered and cared for.

- Imraan (10/5): Great hotel - Wonderful hotel. Would highly recommend. Right next to spice bazaar and close to eminonu tram and ferry stops. Staff always have a smile on face.
