- Samantha (3/5): Wouldn't stay there again. - Breakfast, front of house staff and location amazing. Cleanliness was abysmal. Made worse by the small rooms. Cleaner didn't clean my room for days running. Had to ask for a change of towel multiple times. Very disappointed. And it's a shame because some of the staff members were lovely

The wait staff at the restaurant was nicer than the hotel staff at the front desk. The elevator came very slowly & you cannot see where it is located unless you are in the lobby. The room was very small. Even after requesting a room with a decent view I was placed in a room facing a brick wall before complaining & being moved. When I asked for towels they only brought one or two at a time for two guest. The staff wasn’t rude but they weren’t the most welcoming either, especially when it came to me asking questions about my bill.

Like many NYC hotel rooms, this place is small. I had issues with the half sink in the bathroom. I am 5'7 and could not wash my face or brush my teeth without bumping my head into the shelf above the sink. Like other reviewers, I did not appreciate the daily amenities charge. For the $30/day, I received two small bottles of water. No other amenities - no breakfast, no gym.

It is the hotel’s cover photo on the IHG app. Problem is that part of it is closed for renovation and the other part open for private parties only. No mention on the website, no mention at check in; Just rudely asked “why are you up here for” by a staff member when getting off the elevator. The final death gasp of my years of IHG diamond membership and IC Ambassador membership. This deceptive advertising really reinforces my decision last week to cancel my IHG card and start the move of my business to Marriott.

- X9206DCmikeh (6/5): 1st time in the Wall street area - Great location just off wall street. It’s actually on Water Street. Check in was ok but unable to do early check in. Room size is very compact, a very small room. Not that we intended spending much time in the room. You can only access the bed from one side due to the room being so small The Bathroom is also very small and nowhere to store your toiletries Coffee machine hidden in cupboard which is fine during the day, but you would need a torch at night to make a coffee. No drinking glasses in the room either, we asked and were told paper cups only. No access to the roof top. The in-house restaurant is not owned or operated by the hotel; We Never tried it as prices were a bit expensive. Lots of road works close by so a bit noisy at times Great Deli just a few doors up the road. Starbucks just across the road. Tube station round the corner. No late check out, but they will store your bags for you.

- jaspherv2026 (2/5): Poor Service and Concerning Experience - Booked a premium room for two nights at Hotel Indigo NYC Downtown Wall Street through GovX, and this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had. We are a military family and had just driven almost 9 hours from North Carolina, so we arrived exhausted expecting at least a basic level of professionalism. Instead, the front desk agent didn’t greet us, didn’t acknowledge us, and barely spoke before handing us the keys. The entire interaction felt cold and dismissive. What didn’t make sense was that despite paying for a premium room, we were placed on the 2nd floor, while we saw other guests being assigned to higher floors. I normally wouldn’t question it, but paired with everything else, it didn’t feel right. The biggest issue was the bathroom door was broken and would not close properly. This created a serious privacy problem, especially since we were traveling with our 17-year-old daughter, who had to struggle just to close the door every time she used the bathroom. This is basic functionality. A broken bathroom door should never be assigned to any guest, let alone someone paying for a premium room. At that point, it honestly felt like we were given whatever room was available, regardless of condition or category. No effort, no acknowledgment, no care. As an Asian family, I can’t ignore how this entire experience came across. The lack of greeting, the low-floor assignment despite booking premium, and being placed in a room with a clearly broken bathroom door made us question whether assumptions were made about us, whether we wouldn’t complain, or whether we simply didn’t matter as much as other guests. I’m not making accusations, but the pattern of treatment left that impression, and that is concerning. We didn’t go back to request another room because we were exhausted and didn’t want to waste more time arguing after a long drive. But guests should not have to fight for a functional room, especially when paying for a premium category. If you’re booking a premium room, be aware that it may not reflect what you paid for. This experience felt careless, dismissive, and honestly disrespectful.

Deeply dissatisfied with the overall experience. Our room wasn’t ready at check-in and we were initially told there were issues with linens; minutes later we were given a room that appeared not to be fully prepared. The room was cold with noticeable drafts despite closed windows, and cleanliness standards were below expectations. On multiple days housekeeping did not service the room without us chasing. Cleaning carts and supplies were left directly outside guest rooms for extended periods, and lifts were frequently occupied by housekeeping operations, causing delays and an unpolished guest experience. But I stayed he a couple weeks ago and I kept thinking about how genuinely awful the stay was. The bedroom itself is fine. The shower leaked constantly. Door handle rusty, knobs rusty. Sink dirty. The housekeep staff are nice and that’s where it ends. Every staff member thinks they are way to good to even be polite to you, there was a lady where instead of being helpful felt like every question and btw that was asking for the vouchers for my complementary breakfast (that I had paid for prior) was like a debate. No one smiled, miserable miserable people. The roof bar is sad. Empty, ugly and derelict. What they fail to tell you is that it’s a club, and you’ll be most nights trying to get to your rooms via a lift full of people trying to get the club on the fifteenth floor. The person who controls the lifts make a queue where you have to interact with hundreds of drunk people. He also lets the drunks attendes use the lifts just reserved for hotel guests. So drunk guests wander around the hotel even though they aren’t staying there. The hotel overall is tacky, lacks any homely feel. I love the lower east side but this hotel is a stain on it. I hated my stay here.

Everything is within easy walking distance — the subway, supermarkets, and even the building used as the The Continental Hotel from the John Wick films. Though honestly, I was confused why so many buildings in New York always seemed to be under construction. I was upgraded to the largest room category in the hotel. “Largest” basically meant the same room size, but with a balcony added… which was freezing cold! The balcony ended up being useful only for chilling drinks. Breakfast was included thanks to my Diamond status. It was à la carte, and after ordering the same dishes repeatedly for 8 days, the staff started calling me… “my friend from 902.” The hotel is also close to the East River, making it easy to take a relaxing walk and enjoy the view. Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re planning to stay in New York.

This is the third or fourth time we've booked with this property and it has been a wonderful experience each time. The Sales Manager, Olivia, is a star and was incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout the process of securing the block and applying any necessary changes leading up to the stay. My team loves staying here! They always rave about how quiet the rooms are - allowing for a peaceful night's sleep between long meeting packed days; how convenient this location is to not only our FiDi based office but also to the many bars and restaurants that we utilize for our after hours events; and generally how nice the hotel is. Thank you to Olivia and team!

Hotel and the room was clean and the pillows and bed were comfortable enough. Shower was decent. Rooms are tiny and really not enough space for 2 people. Wardrobe was not big enough one person never mind 2. Room has a fridge, hairdryer and coffee maker. We had breakfast included, we were told we could have one thing each from the menu however on 2nd last day we were told that pastries were not included. Odd given that this is the cheapest thing on the menu! I dont know how much breakfast out would cost but the breakfast wasnt worth the prices in my opinion. Breakfast staff were nice and friendly. Hotel charges $30 plus taxes as an amenity fee. This is an absolute con but it seems most nyc hotels do this. The "benefits" are 2 bottles of water every day (which we did not recieve) discount at one world (they had no tickets left when we were there) money off century 21 if you spend over $100. Nothing that was of any benefit or use. We noticed a gratuity charge on check out. Hotel states this is for restaurant staff and automatically included. They claim its 18% of your bill at breakfast, this is a clear lie as it was the same price every day despite ordering different options and based on prices on menu not 18% of what we would have spent if breakfast wasnt included. So unless you want to lesve a tip twice dont leave cash like we did. I wouldn't recommend a stay at this hotel unless it is the only and by far the cheapest. When comparing prices remember to check for this amenity/resort fee as that adds onto your final bill. We were an extra £160+ and that included a crossaint that we were charged an extra $7 for as noted in previous comment about breakfast.

Es war sehr sauber und modern. • Die Lage des Hotels war ausgezeichnet. Vieles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Ansonsten erreicht man die Subway in 5 Minuten zu Fuß. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Das ist jetzt wirklich Meckern auf hohem Niveau und Geschmackssache, aber wir hätten es bevorzugt, wenn die Dusche einen herkömmlichen Duschkopf gehabt hätte, den man aus der Duschhalterung herausnehmen kann.

The rooms are small but comfortable and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. There must have been building works been carried out by the breakfast lounge because the temperature was icy and there was an open door frame to the outside only covered by a plastic sheet. I felt sorry for the server who was wearing winter gear to cope with the arctic temperatures. Also there seems to be a new cook in the kitchen who doesn't speak English and the quality of the egg dishes was mediocre at best.

- fitviki (2/5): horrible experience - I don’t even know where to begin. This hotel claims to be 4‑star, but it is absolutely not. We arrived late to find a very small, narrow property. Check‑in was fine, but our room was freezing at 60°F. We tried to turn on the heating and spent the night waking up repeatedly, but nothing worked. At 6 a.m. we called reception to report the unbearable cold (outside was 29°F), and were told a technician would come soon. After waiting two to three hours, no one arrived. I went down to reception wearing a jacket just to stay warm, and eventually maintenance came hours later, admitting the system wasn’t working and needed a reset. The general manager had previously claimed we had set it wrong, which was untrue. The next morning, reception staff were wearing winter jackets and hats indoors, and the bartender casually told us they’d had heating problems for the past week — confirming the GM had lied. We paid nearly $3,000 for three nights, and the experience was horrible. The rooftop bar was closed for private events two nights in a row, and the downstairs bar was closed as well. We became sick after sleeping in the freezing room, and when we asked reception for a cup of hot water to mix medicine, they refused — something no proper hotel should decline. The “gym” was a tiny room with one treadmill and a single machine, unusable when occupied. Reception offered access to a partner gym off‑site, which was the only decent part of our stay, but it wasn’t even hotel property. Overall, we paid $3,000 to be treated like nobodies. I’ve had better treatment at $50 hostels. This hotel falls far below 4‑star standards, and I will never stay here again. Besides after these 3 nights we stayed another 3 nights at Hotel Park Ave 4 star and we were treated like royalty for for a 1000 dollar cheaper

- MplsFamilytraveler (4/5): Choose Another Hotel - Stay away from this hotel if you don’t want to feel ripped-off with their useless daily amenity fee and advertised rooftop deck that is closed every night for a private party. Seriously. I’ve accepted this ‘cash-grab’, as so many properties are doing this to their guests but, at least most TRY and pretend it’s not a complete scam, with decent meal vouchers and museum passes/bike rentals etc. But, this IHG has decided the profit margins weren’t high enough and, have tasked their poor hotel staff with having to explain to the long-lines of guests, upset about the same thing I was, that somehow their $34 a day amenity fee has value. -I actually had staff argue with me that, I should change my theater reservations to accommodate THEIR inability to keep the advertised rooftop bar open past 7pm, so I could use my $10 amenity food voucher (that doesn’t even cover one cocktail). Even better?! I got charged this for BOTH my hotel rooms- as if somehow I needed the 25% WTC memorial discount and free luggage storage storage (yup, they actually try and sell that as a perk for the amenity charge!). As if that wasn’t bad enough.. Upon check-in, we were given an upgrade we didn’t ask for (balcony in November in NYC) and, then, told the next day at 11, when we came down to update our room keys for another ‘Reward Nights’ stay, I was told we had an hour to get all of our stuff packed up and bags moved, as someone wants my room who paid for the upgrade. No apologies for not realizing that at check-in, and giving us a room we wouldn’t have to move from OR, for not reaching out in the app immediately in the morning to tell us we needed to switch rooms and, they offered zero consideration for our day’s plans now ruined (which included trying to see one of the museums our amenity fee gives us a discount on)- no offer to help us move -NOTHING except, ‘Make sure the door doesn’t close while you are trying to get your (6 bags) out, as it will lock behind you’. We moved everything to a room with a view of a brick wall and the restaurant’s exhaust fan filling our room with whatever smells were on the grill (lots of rooms face this alley if my review hasn’t scared you away yet). When asked how they can still charge me for the amenity fee (for two rooms no less!) when I was unable to use the amenity fee, as our plans when booking the hotel always involved the rooftop bar, they made it clear that no one gets their money back because they advertise the fee. -A fair argument IF those amenities were actually usable which, they were not! The hotel manager even knew our choosing that hotel was BECAUSE of the rooftop bar and, even though he knew it was booked for private parties our ENTIRE stay, didn’t disclose this, and let us find a different property or, at minimum, offer to not charge the amenity fee. Add to this review they only have 2 elevators for 24 floors and zero access to stairwells if you want to walk and avoid the 10 minute wait.

Location has plenty to walk to and felt very safe. Would go back again! Would have loved to have downstairs bar open in evening. Rooftop bar was nice but it's nice to have a nightcap in the quietness of lobby area. But staff at both were very nice.

- MICL2000 (6/5): Stay in Lower Manhattan with Family - We stayed for five nights in the Indigo Downtown as a family with two kids. The double rooms were as expected, small , pragmatic and very clean. Services at the front desk were very friendly. You can walk to different highlights (e.g. 1WTC) and to the seaside, as expected at night it is a relatively calm area However, the bar and food area beside the lobby which is the only location that you could enter with kids was closed from one day to the next. Last nite the soft toy of our small daughter on her bed unfortunately disappeared probably in the laundry. Summing up a nice stay with small constraints.

The room was spotless, but the cupboard door didn't shut, and they knew, and there is nowhere for your belongings. We had a 4 night break and lived out of our cases. We had breakfast included, but a service charge was added to that and our bill every day. I've been to the USA ( including NY) quite a few times before, and this was new on me. And we weren't forewarned ( even a service charge for a takeaway breakfast?) The outside bar was closed to us 1 evening for a private function. But THIS! $30 per night for an amenity fee?? Wt?? Not expected, pretty sure that wasn't in the small print, and that soon added up over 4 nights. Daylight robbery. We only saw it when we came to check out and then we assumed that meant housekeeping cleaning, so we didn't leave the tip we were going to. Only to look up when we got home an amenity fee is for 'things like' gym. (Tiny and we didn't use) WiFi ( I couldn't sign in) and shuttle buses ( wasn't 1) . So I don't actually know what it was for. (Apologies cleaner's, we pocketed the left tip before we left. Ask your bosses for the $ 30 per night instead. We wouldn't stay here again.

I specifically booked a package that included breakfast, but after eating we were handed a bill as if nothing had been paid. Why not include the full cost upfront instead of creating such unpleasant surprises? Breakfast was an additional $40 per day for two people – and it was nothing more than a terrible croissant, a plain egg, and coffee poured from a thermos, even though a coffee machine was available. This felt insulting given the price. Another huge issue – after being out the entire day, we returned to find our room untouched: trash not removed, towels not replaced, and the bed not made. Only after we went down to the reception and complained did they finally clean the room. But for $1,000 for two nights, this kind of service is completely unacceptable. This hotel is absolutely not worth the money. A terrible experience overall, and I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

We loved being able to leave the chaos of the city but still have easy access, it was about 5 min walk to Wall Street subway stations. Walking distance to several piers was a bonus we weren't expecting. As with all hotels in New York, beware that the room is SMALL. You definitely want to be comfortable with someone if sharing a room with them as you will have no privacy and you will be sharing every bit of the space. If you have more than one big suitcase between you plus cabin luggage you will struggle. I paid for a premium / high rise view but we were looking directly into an office building opposite us so I wouldn't pay extra for that next time. The lifts can be slow on the weekends as the general public can access the rooftop bar (if you're used to London rooftop bars don't expect the same here, it's a very small space and limited seating options). They do give you a credit for the rooftop as part of your destination fee, but beware you may not be able to use it. We tried and were told they couldn't do this so our credit just went to waste and we ended up paying full for our drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful when we had queries. They also were able to hold our bags free of charge when we had time to kill before our flights. Overall a decent stay, would stay here again purely based on the location and cleanliness of the hotel.
