Guest Reviews
- Anthony (10/5): First Class 🏅 - Location Helpful staff Comfort No tv? We have a child.
- Sally (6/5): Location was great but the place needs some work to justify the price - Location was great. Easy to find and close to what we needed. Lounge room was comfortable. Heating was good. Being London - we had no issue with the small size of the space. That’s to be expected. Beds were not comfortable at all. The lock on the door caused problems, and were locked out for about an hour before we managed to get it open. So going forward we only locked one of the locks on the door for the duration of our stay. Kettle didn’t work. And you absolutely have to watch yourself on those stairs.
- Ángel (8/5): - Good location Very small place, no TV
- Karin (8/5): - De locatie was super, in de avond rustig en toch midden in de stad.
- Hissah (2/5): - صغير جدا جدا وهذا غير موضح
المفارش والسرائر والممرات متسخة جدا
- Thomas (9/5): - The location is awesome. It was clean and good value.
- Peter (8/5): Mews house in fantastic location - Location is fantastic. Mews house a real novelty and great fun. Bed clothes and towels all v clean. Quiet. Poor attention to detail. No plugs for the sinks, haphazard distribution of in-house equipment, some abandoned on upper shelves or under the sink. Rotting bench outside.
It was a shame because with a bit more effort, it could be a truly memorable stay.

- Amanda (6/5): Pleasant for mid-range expectations, affordable for London - Good location, felt safe, nice part of town, close to paddington station Sheets were iffy and mattress upstairs was gross. Shower is so small it is a pain to use, but that’s what would fit in the space, so can’t be judgy about that.
- Dawn (6/5): Cramped and diffcult to relax no sitting room - Location excellent There was an extra bed in the sitting room in place of a sofa???? Which we did not ask for and which essentially ruled it out as a sitting room as you had to climb over it and then there was not room for sitting on the sofa opposite. I would have boked a hotel had I not wanted a sitting room.
- Chris (5/5): Good location, the stairs are dangerous and not easily maneuvered, especially if you are not steady -
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaanika (7/5): Good -
- Julie (1/5): Don't bother!!!!!! - The location. We were disappointed as the whole property needs work, serious maintenance and a good clean!
The front of the house is very uninviting with dead plants, no outside light working, chipped paint, and filthy windows/ledges.
Kitchen. Fridge/freezer was disgusting, not clean at all, bits of food, stains, and freezer all iced up and drawers covers missing. The kitchen cupboard doors hanging off, rubbish bin filthy and lid cracked! Coffee machine is available but no pods to use. No teatowels and the whole room dirty and unhygienic.
Shower. The door was broken, and the shower head holder snapped, so I had to hold it. Hardly no ventilation, very mouldy and smelt damp.
Stairs. My husband almost slipped down the very dangerous staircase! Yes, there's a handrail on the right side, but no spindles to the left, so it's very dangerous!
Bunked bedroom. Very low ceiling walking in, and there was no notice informing if this. I'm almost 6 feet tall and could've easily hurt myself! A cut of piece of red bobbletowellingg stuck above the door.
Lounge. TV had no remote, so I couldn't hear as I was unable to turn up volume on TV. Huge dirty window with no curtain/blind for privacy.
Main bedroom.
NO MATRESS/PILLOW PROTECTORS!!!!!! YUCK 🤮 Bed is very uncomfortable as the mattress is thin and worn, it felt like sleepung on the wooden slats! Had a very bad back and in pain the next day! Drawers front on the chest of drawers fell off as we opened it. Very dirty/dusty.
There were broken window locks, damaged/bent blinds and walls/doors filthy.
I spent almost £600 for 2 nights as my husbands 60th birthday, and we went to see Bruce Springsteen on the first night. It has cost me a small fortune for the two day visit.
I am very disappointed and feel extremely let down as we'd always wanted to stay in a London mews, but it wasn't a pleasure at all.
- Tucker (10/5): communication was easy and the house was left freshly cleaned upon arrival - great location
- Mick (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alaba (1/5): Bad -
- Patrick (5/5): overall there was no value for money. - the location was excellent. the facilities at the property were not good. there was no TV, iron, bread toaster and cutlery/crockery were very old. However, after informing the owner he agreed to offer a discount of 20% due to the complaints made by me.
- Wendy (7/5): Excellent location - Brilliant location Having a tv
- Koz (8/5): Good location and a very helpful host. - The location of this property is a big plus. Close to Paddington Station, your transport through London is easy. Hyde Park is also just around the corner. The property might be a bit cramped for four adults.
- Jaslena (4/5): Disappointing -
- Chris (2/5): Great location, terrible everything else; would never stay again - Location (in Paddington, and down a reasonably quiet mews) oh boy…this is going to be a lot to list:
- it wasn’t clean (smelled like mold)
- the stairs are incredibly unsafe (super steep with very little room to maneuver)
- the “kitchen” was too tiny and uncomfortable and dirty; the countertop was cracked (not that there is much of one)
- the bathroom is tiny
- you have to watch your head for the low ceiling on the main floor
- no blind (at all) on the large living room window (so everyone can see in)
- the bed is incredibly uncomfortable
- very few kitchen essentials (we asked about a bunch of this and the host never responded)
- had to meet in person for the keys (they don’t have self checkin)
- if you want to checkin after 7pm, you have to pay a fee
- after you take a shower, the shower room smells like mold and running the fan doesn’t do anything to help
- there is a table and 4 chairs in the “kitchen”, but absolutely no way you can use them (way too small)
- they require a hefty damage deposit, but don’t actually have things that are fixed in the property
The biggest issue is definitely the stairs: if you have small kids (to be able to use the bunk beds), you won’t like the stairs. if you have toddlers who struggle walking, definitely don’t stay here as they will very likely fall and hurt themselves.
We used to live in London (so we know small), and this was way too small. We pretty much didn’t use the kitchen (because it wasn’t usable), so we should have just stayed in a hotel (likely cheaper and with blinds and a comfortable bed).
- Marilyn (9/5): we enjoyed our stay and would like to return. - The location was excellent and it had everything we needed. The stairway to the upper level would be difficult for someone with mobility problems.
- Robin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jay (1/5): I would recommend that travelers to London stay away from this property. - Location was great, central to paddington station and multiple tube lines. The absolute worst experience I've had on booking.com. Be prepared to have no support if anything goes wrong and you will be tasked to figuring it out on your own. We arrived to our stay with no electricity or air conditioning. The listing initially stated a/c which is why I booked it given the heat wave, and it was verified as with a/c prior to arrival by my sister as well. On check-in there was no a/c. Wish I had the screenshot but the listing was changed.
On check-in at 2 pm there was no power and person stated it would be fixed within the hour and needs a "top up". Btw the place was vacant for the 7 days prior and no one bothered to check. Two hours later still no power. I reached out to booking.com and stated they are contacting the owner as they are only authorized. The contact number for the unit was HelloGuest, which always went to voicemail and never got a call back. After dinner, still no power at 9 pm. Check in person gave me number of the maintenance guy for the unit. After many back and forths he finally sends someone over. It's close to 11 pm now. A nice guy shows up and realized the meter was broken and wouldn't reset. He called the owner while I was standing there who was in Italy and states he only topped it up at 9 pm. After troubleshooting with a meter expert luckily the meter reset. Prior to his arrival, booking.com's answer was to "wait until the next day". Luckily we had battery backups for our phones. Booking.com promised 2 nights refund for this trouble which I never received. They stated later the owner declined it.
The space itself is really cramped can only fit 2 people + 2 kids. Hard to even move around. The shower is so tiny you can barely turn around and has a hot exposed pipe that will burn you. There were cobwebs all over the place and there was dust that hadn't been removed in months. This place would be cool if the owner actually cared about the unit and the guests.
- Catherine (8/5): A good location at a good price for London. - Stunning is maybe not exactly the word I’d use to describe this place but it is very well located, and reasonably well equipped for a good price. This is not a place to stay with small children (steep stairs without a bannister) and the arrangements for picking up the key and then getting the deposit at the end might make you nervous. It all worked for us, but it felt like it might not. I’m glad we weren’t delayed because it relies on you arriving when the person with the keys is there.
- julia (4/5): - Decent location close to Paddington Station. The main problems were maintenance (lots of worn or broken items), an almost unusable ground-floor bedroom (so small you can't stand up in it), and a scary staircase that was a safety challenge for the older person in our party
- alp (6/5): - Electric cooker does not work
