Guest Reviews
- Jed (10/5): - Excellent location where locals live. Near subway and grocery. Fridge and room are small. Good enough for single or couples. It is fantastic place because of the washing machine too.
- Keng Seng (10/5): - 3 adults in a room was quite tight, but it’s otherwise pretty nice to stay in.
- Kate (8/5): - The room was great, plenty of space for two. The location was easy for several metro stations and felt very safe and quiet
- claudio (10/5): - Definitely a place for someone that can follow instructions and likes quiet spaces. I was concerned prior to arriving that the lack of front desk would be an issue but the hotel communicates in advance via Expedia very well. I had zero issues getting into my room and settling down. My family rested well and even with a 10 year old on the spectrum we were able to keep to the rules well. We were able to wash, cook and clean for ourselves.
- Rey (10/5): - We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We were granted a late check-out at no extra charge, which really helped us relax on our last day. The hotel is also in a fantastic location—just a 4-minute walk from the bus station and 9 minutes from the train station. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Highly recommended for both convenience and top-notch service!
- Yuko (8/5): - Washing machine and bathroom drying system are very handy. I didn't like the surface of the floor peeling off.
- ADRIAN (6/5): - The wordind used in this hotel in regards of communication is very aggresive. Not so welcoming. Phrases like: you will get in trouble, you will have problems, we will call the police etc etc are not nice.
- Miguel (6/5): - The place was clean and had all the amenities, that being said the place was small, good for a single person. The pictures on their site makes it look big but it's not. Also the apartment was not sound proof. The noise from the other apartments were a nuisance.
- Dylan Matt (10/5): - Clean
- Jose (6/5): - Property is located in a residential area; you get to see how the locals live. When we first arrived, we were kind of surprised as we did not expect to be in a residential area (the place was recommended by family) but we enjoyed it and would come back. The room is small by U.S. standards but adequate. The bed is comfy but not the pull out futon, my back hurts after sleeping on it (there's a support bar on the futon that you have to avoid sleeping on top off). It is about 10-15 minute walk to the nearest train station; about 25 minutes walk to Sensoji Temple and about 20 minutes walk to Akihabara. It may be faster to walk to Sensoji Temple than to walk to the train to take it one stop. For Akihabara, maybe take a train on the way back since you will probably have done alot of shopping. We did use Uber a couple times to get around, the Uber taxis arrived within 3 minutes, but wait times may vary depending on the time of day. There is a Supermarket about one block away that is open 24 hours and has good food and alcohol selection. There is a public spa on the next block but we did not get to use that. The neighborhood itself is nice and quaint and very quiet, relaxing. 10 minutes away there is a main street where there are stores and restaurants. If you want a place to stay where it is quiet and no street noise, this is a good property.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A good apartment building acting as a hotel. - Quite good for the price. We stayed with 3 people and it was quite cramped, but we managed. Location was okay, there were several public transportation stops nearby. Self check-in was also quite smooth.
- Ana Karen (10/5): - Muy buen hotel, pero no hacen limpieza
- Michael (10/5): - This was in such a quiet neighbourhood which was a nice change from other bustling parts of Tokyo. Well equipped. It is a 7-10 minute walk to trains
- Cassandra (10/5): - This is a perfect place to stay if you want some quiet away from the busy shopping of Tokyo.
- Keith (4/5): - The shower was very good The apartment was clean The washing machine worked well. I did not get the apartment that was in the pictures on Expedia No view of the city... when I question them they said... well the computer picks the rooms. I found that out too late the day I was leaving. To me Pictures are important! what you show with your pictures is what I believe I'm getting. but I didn't get that. That being sad. They give you one towel each and a washcloth. their booklet it says you have to pay more money if you want another towel The towels are very thin not appropriate for a bath or shower. The apartment is not adequate for eating a dinner with your family or spouse. Unless you sit on the floor or the bed and eat. It took two days to be able to use the refrigerator it was frozen over with ice.. this is a great place for maybe a businessman staying one or two days not for a tourist in my opinion. The supplies are very limited. The last few days I had the air conditioner on while sleeping and I couldn't stop coughing we didn't need the air conditioner the whole stay I think they need to clean that. Lesson I learned is ask questions about the pictures.
- Natalie (4/5): View expectations unmet, no reply on move request - Good - This is a relatively new complex, so the decor is fresh and the apartment is clean. It is in a nice local area.
Unmet expectations - picture 4 of the property is titled 'view from the room'. I selected this property on the basis of the view of the Skytower. However, our apartment was at the back of the building without this view. I messaged the property explaining this and asking to be relocated, but received no reply. The rate for this apartment is higher than I was prepared to pay without this view. So, be aware if you want to book based on picture 4 view, your chance of getting it is low, because 1 in 3 apartments per floor have this view, and based on the letterboxes, the 'Mr Kintaro Hotel' appears to have all floors except 1 and 2, and if you are placed on a low floor you will not have a view of the Skytower.
- Jung Hwa (10/5): - Very good
- Ethan (10/5): - Was a wonderful place to stay, incredibly high quality for a very cheap price. Would stay again!
- Gustavo Alexander (8/5): - Location was nice and quiet, plenty of subway lines nearby with tons of conbinis. Place itself was nice and clean and had everything we could have asked for. My only complaint is a minor one, the mattress has pretty much gone to waste because its never been rotated or flipped, one side is super worn out and sinks deeply by the pillows and the other side couldnt be any more firm. Couch futon was more comfortable.
- albert (8/5): - Overall was a good experience. Room is smaller than in pictures was a bit tight for the 3 of us. Having a washer in bathroom was a plus.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The basics d - Pros:
Easy and clear instructions to check in (no staff at this hotel)
In a quiet area nestled among residential homes.
15-20 minute walk to multiple train stations.
Easy to explore Asakusa and Ueno neighborhoods. Take advantage especially if you’re still adjusting to time zone, so easy to explore early in the morning and feel like you’re the only one there.
Always appreciate having a washer/dryer so I can pack light.
Cons:
Definitely a dated hotel in terms of amenities.
Pretty much hands off in terms of communication/requests once you check in.
- YI HSUAN (10/5): - 很喜歡,離地鐵也很近,很方便。
- Wai Lun (8/5): - Overall is ok
- Tomoko (8/5): - 2週間、長期滞在させていただきました。施設はとても静かで清潔、快適でした。自分のうちのように感じられ歩き回って帰宅した時はホッとしました。また、利用したいです!ありがとうございました。
- Ke (8/5): - Clean, comfortable, more feellike home than hotels.
Grocery is very close by. Restaurants and metro are a decent walk.
- Jens (10/5): Tokyo refuge after Hokkaido trip - Good location just a 10 min walk from nearest metro station. Fully functional apartment with everything you need for a couple of days. Tranquil area, mainly local recidencies, 20 minute walk to Asakusa station. Easy check in / check out procedure. Heating system was a bit noisy, a few extra blankets would eliminate the need for having the heating on at night. Overall a very nice stay.
- connor (10/5): - Clean rooms. Very nice!
- River (8/5): - Very nice!
- amairani (8/5): - This was an excellent stay! I loved that i got a feel for living in a japanese apartment. The communication was incredible and was able to have my luggage forwarded from Nagoya.
The only thing to consider is how much walking you'll do in comparison to other stays weve had. It was a great quiet residential location that had a 10 minute walk to the nearest train or bus stations so consider that.
- Sofia (10/5): - Very good with all the amenities. The size is quite small, but you have everything you need (apart from a full high mirror). 10/15 min walk to the closest station. 24/7 food supermarket 5 mins away. Brisk 20 min walk from Asakusa. We enjoyed our stay!
- Joppy (10/5): - It’s always a great tome
- Chelsey (8/5): - Overall wasn't a bad place to stay but also wasn't a great place. The walls definitely has chips missing and some marks on the floor and walls but the bed and futon we decent. If you have to contact the property owner definitely call as online you will wait days if ever a response. There is no on site person which the add did say for ours, it is all online. You definitely can hear your neighbors when they are in their rooms walking around, especially above you (or maybe I had bad luck for the week I was here). I wouldn't recommend having more than two adults as it would be very cramped. Over all a decent place and close enough to subway stations and a little grocery store.
- Thomas (10/5): - Quiet and accessible area to stay during a busy Tokyo trip
- Nathan (10/5): - Loved the quiet area
- Renee (10/5): - We stayed last October 25 for 12 days. The room is so clean and so updated and the staff are nice. I recommend this place. I forsure comeback here.
- Steven (10/5): - Quiet area. Nice restaurants in the area.
- Chad (10/5): - We were really impressed with how clean the room and neighborhood were. It was a quiet and peaceful place to come back to everyday. Food and transportation are walkable from this location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Apartment is clean, fully equipped and in a great quiet location, however it is hard to get a response to questions. Will be back again at the end of our trip!
- Shaquan (8/5): - Area was super quiet and clean. Whenever I had a question I got a response usually within timely manner. There is a local 24 hour grocery store like a minutes walk away. Great place to stay for 2 people. Only issue that I had was that the beds weren’t that comfortable to sleep on. They were very hard and gave me back pain after sleeping on it for a few days.
- Irene (10/5): - The area is nice and quiet, subway stations, convenience store, supermarket and restaurants are nearby, I love that the room has washing machine and stove top.
- Eleonor (10/5): - Very quiet place
- Maria (10/5): - Everything is perfect! More spacious than other Japan hotels cause its a Hotel apartment. All have the amenities (bathroom stuffs, washing machine, dryer, tv, microwave, fridge, hot water pitcher, and you can make your own meal!
Lovely and quiet neighborhood. Fast check-in and check-out.
- Zhao (10/5): - Newly renovated, super clean, it has everything I needed. Room size is good in Japanese standard. Safe & quiet. Only drawback is a little far from train station.
- Dawn (10/5): - This a very quiet residential area. The rooms are very small but have everything you need. Easy to get around and walk to the senso-ji temple.
- Dejan (6/5): - Although the property itself was clean enough to stay in, our balcony was very dirty from grime and floor was constantly wet from air-conditioner system. We were not able to step out on the balcony without bringing dirt inside and also while drying laundry, if it fell on floor it would get dirty again from all the grime on the floor.
On two occasions someone tried to enter our apartment while we were inside. I asked the two people who tried to get in what they want and the just said "sorry" and walked away. This was very disturbing experience. What are you doing for safety of your guests?
I communicated these issues to the management and never received any reply at all. I would not recommend this place due to safety concerns and complete lack of customer service.
- Isabel (10/5): - It was good for us. There is even a washer to wash out clothes. The dryer is in the actual bathtub area, we didn’t know it at first. We were out most of the days as we always plan to do as much as possible while we are traveling. We were always just 10 walk from a station getting back and forth. Extremely clean and very accommodating for us. Thank you!!!
- Yan-Bin (10/5): - Nice neighborhood. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Reasonable rate for stay.
- Suzanne (6/5): - The location is quiet if you're looking to get away from the busy city but also quite far from most subway stations. Our room was too small for 3 adults and had a terrible stench of sewage coming from the kitchen sink. I asked questions about where to store luggage for early check in and never got a reply until the day of check in. I would not come back to this hotel for all these reasons.
- Rusty (6/5): - Property is good but very strict on picking up after yourself and staying quite. Only problem we had was that the washing machine in the room was leaking while we used it. Otherwise its relatively close to the train station and in good shape.
- Juan Carlos (10/5): - Nice, quiet and very convenient...Thanks
- Jay (10/5): - Fantastic apartments in a great area that was away from all the craziness, but still had cool bars and restaurants dotted around.
- ANGEL (10/5): - Great living rooms. Clean and comfortable, intelligent control. I love the kitchen and washing machine.
The location is good. Easy access to any where. There is a 24 hours supermarket nearby.
- Si (10/5): - I really liked how the property was self check in and that the rooms were quite spacious. The area was also very quiet which was really nice.
- Jenifer (10/5): - Feels like home
- M- (10/5): - Location was quiet and the stations weren’t too much of a walk so it was easy to go where we wanted. There were good food options nearby and the overall hotel experience was satisfactory.
- John (10/5): - Excellent hotel and location.
- Mirza (10/5): Great Stay! - Good location, really nice apartment! Check-in info was in the email I was sent.
- Eric (10/5): - Excellent
- Alexandre (10/5): - Great place to stay in Tokyo. Near a supermarket and subway station not far away.
- Gabor (8/5): - Good location, in a good area. Small but nice. Every information necessary on hand. Even a washing machine in the bathroom.
- Deborah (10/5): - Very clean and nice property overall! Location is very local and was quiet and peaceful
- Christian (8/5): - Property location was great, easy access to train stations and shopping areas. Property area quiet and safe. Room condition was excellent; however, for longer stay the bed/mattress not the greatest, it can cause back pain and discomfort. Also make sure the check in details are provided ahead of your arrival, specially after hours. Overall it was a good stay and I would recommend it.
- Shiladitya (10/5): Great little place for a few nights in Tokyo. - Easily accessible and clear entry/check-in instructions, which made lives for us first timers in Japan very easy.
Excellent location in the old city of Tokyo.
- Robert (10/5): - Excellent property. Very cozy and quiet neighbourhood. Grocery store and subway lines nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
- noel (10/5): - Very clean and quiet
- DIEGO (10/5): - Excellent value for a comfortable and very clean small apartment. The hotel functions without any human interaction, and as everything was working perfectly, we didn't miss it.
Location is SUPER quiet, and a short walk to the Asakusa Line, so one subway ride to either airport and downtown Tokyo. Definitely will return next time.
- Isabel Del (10/5): - Host was prompt with responses; helped just when we arrived and we've enjoyed our stay; the free wi-fi helped a lot; good area to be in
- Josh (6/5): - It was average. Room was an ok size for one person any more would’ve been tight. The floor in my room was coming up and there was a hole in the closet door. The shower head was screwed in outside the shower instead of actually in the tub so you could only shower by holding the shower head. There was a free washer and dryer which was very convenient. The walls were rather thin so you could hear people above, below and to the side of you to some extent. This may be on Expedia byt upon arrival I was never sent any check in information so I had to call the property to get the code to enter. The area was very quiet but it is only a 20 minute walk to ueno, asasuka and akhiabara. The train and lawsons/711 are about a 5 minute walk. If you are looking for simple place to stay with nothing too fancy this place does the job. I was out most of the time exploring so this fit my needs fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): New, nice, but not ideal location - Apartment is new and is really nice, but the nearest metros are all about a 10min walk which can feel a bit far. The room is a bit tight, so for 3 adults it can feel a bit cramped. Not really any food options nearby, but there is a supermarket really close by that is open 24hrs.
- Ricardo (10/5): - Excellent hotel, would come again.
- Dino (10/5): - Great quiet place to stay.
- Dino (10/5): - Great place to stay
- jenny (6/5): - No personal service
No phone to call for service
Recycling is confusing as there is no bin for paper
The pot has NO handles, got burnt the first day
Loud noise from neighbours at 10 pm!! Who do call to complain????
- Henry (10/5): - This apartment has everything, even a private washing machine. Out of all the places where I stayed in Japan this was the best one.
- Anna (10/5): A great stay! - The hotel was great! Very friendly staff, convenient location. A short walk to multiple train stations, convenience stores and Okachimachi Station shopping street. Very quiet and peaceful area. Highly recommended. If you don't speak or can't read Japanese and can't figure out the hot water for the shower/bath, there's a temperature control thermostat for the water on the wall. You can adjust the water temp in celcius and how many liters to heat from there. Hope that helps!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quaint in a good way - Beautiful hotel, balcony views of the skytree. Walking distance to hotels, restaurants and train stations. The layout is incredible and i love the heated bathroom and laundry.
There is no front desk so getting a hold of the property to check in or if you need more towels is tricky. Otherwise,
- Michael (10/5): - Excellent hotel, great stay to the start of our Japan trip.
- Christopher (10/5): - I wanted someplace to serve as a "home away from home" for a stay in Tokyo away from the high-traffice areas, and I was completely satisfied with my stay here! Every amenity I needed, the laundry is even in the room/unit, and with the hot plate, water kettle, and rice maker basically every essential was available.
Very happy with my stay here and if I ever have the opportunity to return to Tokyo, this is my first choice of place to stay again!
- Yan L (10/5): - They’ve got every thing you’ll need. Almost, they don’t provide toothbrush. Everything else’s are perfect.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Clean and quiet neighborhood. Convenient to bus and teain station. Love the secure entry.
