Guest Reviews
- ROBERT (8/5): Great location and price. - It’s a block away from metro rail. Lots of restaurants too.
Room was clean. Nothing fancy.
I will use it again.
- Eduard (10/5): - I had a delightful and cozy experience during my stay at Sunset Inn. The room was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, complete with a small kitchenette. The location is fantastic, with numerous restaurants and quaint shops within easy walking distance. While parking is off-site, it’s just around the corner and conveniently close to the inn. If I have the opportunity to return to South Miami, I would certainly choose to stay here again.
- Eiko (8/5): - The Sunset Inn room was very clean and nicely decorated, with small kitchenette. Location of the place is excellent with many reataurants and small shops within the walking distance. Parking is off site (need to contact them to make an arrangementbefore you arrive), but it's right around the corner. When we stayed, the laundry facility was out of order and closed. That was the only nagative thing. This place is contactless and as long as you make all the arrangements prior to arrival, you will have no issues at all. I really enjoyed my stay and if i would visit South Miami, i would definitely stay here again
- Angela (10/5): Great location great hotel - Great clean perfect
- Marlo (10/5): - Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Room was very clean. Management was very helpful and communicated everything in a timely manner.
- Reniel (10/5): - Good location and clean. Note that if you have issues with stairs, this mag not be the place for you. I did not see an elevator and rooms sre located onbthe second floor.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Overpriced. Thin walls. Not responsive at night. - I had an outrageous experience. First, it was overpriced and not a standard hotel. They provided the wrong code to enter, so I was stuck outside for 30 minutes. There is no one there in person to help. The walls are super thin so you can hear everything… and I mean everything (I wish I could unhear some of the things I heard). By the time they responded, I left because it was late at night and I didn’t feel comfortable/safe. They did not give me a full refund.
- Christiana (10/5): - This was a great location. A lot of walkable restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean and if you’re not used to city noise, it can be noisy but my husband and I were comfortable.
It’s an inn with remote management. If you read the instructions sent to you prior to your check in, everything should run smoothly.
If anything this was outstandingly convenient.
Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
- Akayla (10/5): - It was very clean and comfy. The overall aesthetic is super homey and comforting. I’d definitely recommend & also stay here again. Cute and easy for a short stay!
- Denise (10/5): Great location!! - Great location, especially for a visit to U Miami. We walked from the Sunset Inn to campus. Had all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend
- Steven (8/5): - Great neighbourhood
- Steven (10/5): - Great value. 5 minutes walk from the metro in a safe and thriving neighborhood replete with restaurants and any other business you can imagine. 5-10 minute easy walk to two major supermarkets (Publix and Whole Foods) and a short walk to a lovely park. Room is large enough with a small refrigerator and microwave, best set up to heat up small meals. Clean and neat. Parking right outside your window. What's not to like? It's a find and not to be missed.
- Max (8/5): Lean, Clean Crashpad on the Strip - More like an barebones efficiency studio, no staff, just check in with your assigned room code. Location is great on Sunset Blvd, amidst the restaurants and bars, and very convenient to University of Miami. Would stay here again.
- James (6/5): - The property has a great location and is very easy to use as a traveler as well as good value from a cost perspective. My main complaints were a lack of responsiveness through text or phone number when we had questions and needed support on arrival at 10:30 PM on a Friday night, and a lack of cleanliness of the bathroom including hair in shower.
- Mark (6/5): - The door lock to our room was broken, they advised laundry room which is non existent? And hasn’t been for years, no place to put your stuff/clothing but yet the room has plenty of space for an extra dresser, sub quality linen and towels
- Lynne (8/5): - Loved the location and the room was nice, but parking was difficult. The only garage we could find that allowed overnight parking was the one the hotel has a deal with across the street. But the info about this was not forthcoming. It was also a noisy location for trying to sleep. With a noise machine it worked.
- Kelly (10/5): - We had such a great stay! In a great spot with walkable restaurants. Parking is right across the street. Definitely felt like a safe area. Great option at an affordable price!
- Denae (6/5): - The location was in a fun area of South Miami. Unfortunately, there were only steps to get up to the room which is crummy with heavy suitcases.
Parking was crummy with only street (paid) or parking structures a few blocks away. Supposed street parking was $14 to come and go but we called the number listed and no one answered from the hotel to assist us with parking.
The bed was not comfortable. That was our main complaint. The place was clean which is appreciated.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Keep looking. This ain’t it. - Booked the room, confirmed the room, they took my security deposit, and still double booked my room. I showed up with some dude staying in the room I book with the same txt confirmation and room code. Dont book this place. Even the guy in the room I booked said he was on the phone with management cause how poor the room was. I had to book another hotel and still waiting on a refund. They claim they won’t refund due to policy.. I just burned money with this place..
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The drscription of the futon bed is not accurate
It is not big enough for a grown up to sleep on
And the door to the room was out of order so it could not lock when you leave the room
I had to move out after the first night
- Stephanie (10/5): - Always great to stay here. I was told you get a discount for coming back but I never did. Other than that hotel was nice. Thank you!
- Myrna (6/5): - few option for walkable restaurant
- Erica (10/5): - Everything was great. Easy. I come down throughout the year with my son for checkups and this may be my favorite place we’ve stayed. Secure, quiet, clean, affordable and accessible to hospital. The host was also incredibly accommodating towards us as we inquired of the possibility of needing to extend our stay. They understood our unique situation and were quick to help out if the situation arose. Thank you. Will be back.
- Riley (10/5): - Very easy check in and overall pleasant experience
- Vendiletia (10/5): - Thanks for a pleasant stay, and response to questions and been accommodating.
- kevin (10/5): - I don’t like to spend a lot of money on hotels, and this was one of the cheapest i could find in Miami,so I wasn’t expecting to much, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely bright spotlessly clean room would have no hesitation in recommending the sunset inn five stars.
- Yelena (10/5): - Todo bueno
- Alessandra Gabr (10/5): - Had great experience, very clean and quiet.
- Kristy (10/5): - Fantastic stay. Lots to do around that area. Parking garage was very close and easy access. Communication was in a timely manner. Quick response is always appreciated. Especially when you have question that need an immediate response. Awesome restaurants and shops. Very clean space. I would 100percent book again.
- Sk (2/5): Not a good practice to impose undisclosed charges - They have hidden charges
- Louis (10/5): Sunset Inn - Clean, conveniently located. There's no front desk clerk but the mgr is very responsive by phone.
- Jazzy (8/5): Walking distance to all the good spots! - It was a good stay. Place was clean. Walking distance to shopping, movies, and very nice restaurants. Only real complaint was that the shower was kind of small.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The place was perfect great location and safe to stay there especially I am familiar with the area. Thank you The Sunset Inn -South Miami, FL. I will Definitely stay again & Recommend!!
- Anthony (10/5): Great Room & Location! - I loved the room and the neighborhood! If I'm ever in Miami again, that's where I am staying. There are a ton of restaurants and activity around the hotel.
Top Notch!
- Diana (10/5): - Very beautiful and clean love the details it’s like a little studio love it
- Abraham (8/5): - The room was clean and the environment quiet.
Great service.
- Sergio (8/5): Main lock to the building was broken - The main door entrance lock was missing the deadbolt, so the place could be accessed freely from the street
- Steven (10/5): - Great little apartment. TV and AC and hot water were all fine. GREAT communication from the property manager and convenient and reasonable parking. My only complaint was there was a lot of early morning noise due to street sweepers and construction on the next block (more McCondos being built), but can't fault the place for that. Thanks again.
- CARLOS (10/5): Great place. - Loved our stay at the Sunset Inn. Amazing location with shops and great restaurants at walking distance. Room was very clean and comfortable. Manager responded timely to every inquiry we had. Highly recommended!
- Ashley (10/5): - This place was perfect! It was cozy and clean and close to plenty of delicious restaurant options. The bed was comfortable, the tv was great, and the kitchenette was a nice touch. If I come back to South Miami in the future I’ll hope to book here again!
- Lorena (8/5): - The only downside was that our room was next to the entrance and you could hear everybody coming in and out of the building. The last day early morning, some guests/staff were opening/closing the door really heavy and wake us up. Btw, make sure you go by the address in Expedia and not the one in Google or you're going to be lost for no reason!
- WESLEY (10/5): - Great communication, clear instructions nice clean cozy
- Michael (10/5): - Great unit near University of Miami and other attractions.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Probably not - Could not get in contact with management. Did not have towels, received parking ticket following their instructions, poor communication.
Great location though.
- Marcia (8/5): Great location!! - Great location. Easy access. Excellent communication from management. Nice and appropriate amenities in the kitchenette. Super Cuban restaurant around back of the block. (But... could use some tissues -- just a suggestion).
- William (10/5): Great stopover accomodations! - Thanbk you for your service! I was skeptical a bit at first for the "text only" communication, but everyrthing worked out quite well. We stayed at Sunset Inn on the way to a Florida Keys vacations. This was an excellent stopping poing for us - just perfect. We had a great time at the bar just outside called Bouganvillea's and had an excellent breakfast the following morning before we were on our way. Thanks again!
- Nagaratnam (10/5): - Clean room and convenient spot.
Helpful staff. Lisa was very helpful.
Cleaning cost of 50 dollars every time is high.
Towels, sheets s/b changed every 2 or 3 days. If not people would not rent for more than a few days.
- Raul (10/5): - Was in town and needed a place close enough to the Univ. of Miami. I prefer to walk whenever possible. The Metrorail from MIA had a stop 2 blocks from the property. Super convenient. A Whole Foods and CVS were nearby (~5 min walk) so I saved money by not eating out every meal. The property is quaint and very clean. Kitchenette was well stocked for my needs. It was cool to experience the area of town known as “South Miami.” Will definitely look into staying here again if I’m ever back in Miami.
- Lonnie (10/5): - Cozy Retreat at Sunset Inn
My family and I enjoyed a delightful stay at Sunset Inn in South Miami just after Christmas, and it was truly wonderful. The rooms were lovely, offering a perfect balance of coziness and space for my wife, son, and me. Although the bathroom and kitchenette were on the smaller side, the overall comfort and spacious feel made our stay quite pleasant.
The neighborhood itself was fantastic—quiet, peaceful, and with a great restaurant conveniently located right underneath the inn. We found it to be a perfect spot to grab delicious food throughout the day, adding to the convenience of our stay.
Parking was a breeze with a garage just across the road. It was reasonably priced, and, to our delight, free during our post-Christmas visit. The ample parking space inside the garage made our comings and goings hassle-free. Unloading and loading up near the property was a breeze, thanks to short-stay parking spots conveniently located by the stairway.
What impressed us even more was the accessibility to all the great sites in Miami from Sunset Inn. It served as an excellent hub for our explorations, making it easy to venture into the city and enjoy the vibrant attractions.
All in all, Sunset Inn provided us with a comfortable, quiet haven in a charming neighborhood, making our stay highly recommended. We look forward to returning and creating more wonderful memories in the heart of South Miami and Beyond.
- Tiffany T (10/5): - Sunset Inn is VERY accomodating and I will definitely be back!
- EMELY (10/5): Excelente alojamiento - Excelente lugar, muy limpio, muy bien hubicado. Super recomendado
- Peter (8/5): Great apartment but check in was challenging - Apartment is lovely and in a fantastic location. Beware of the check in process though if you don’t have access to a US phone line. We were sent the room access code by WhatsApp however it would not
open. We replied and tried to call and message for over an hour to resolve however no answer, eventually had to go into the shop downstairs to ask to use their phone! Would be a lot easier if the code could just be sent by email. Once this was sorted all was good however could of done without an hours wait to check in after a long flight.
- Amy (8/5): - Nice apartment in a great area
- Amada Gladis (10/5): - Pequeña, pero muy acogedora y con todo lo necesario para pasarla muy bien, la cama súper cómoda!! Muchas gracias!!
- Nadav (6/5): No signage, wrong address, no front desk -
It took me a few minutes to figure out what the actual entrance was. The address given is off, it's in the same building, but under a different address. Check-in is a little different, there is no front desk and the place is unmanned. You go through check-in via email and get a code to enter the building and your unit.
While I was staying there, someone saw me walk up to the building and then proceeded to pound on the front door. I reached out to the number left in the room for emergency both by text and calling, I'm still waiting for someone to answer me. I was made to feel very
uncomfortable and them not responding made it worse.
The only good things I can say is the place is clean and seemed maintained and there's decent internet
- Iliana (10/5): Work and School - Work and School, what a lovely stay when home is a week away. I could walk to work and park for a nominal fee when needed, and management was very responsive to any inquiries or issues.
With only eight units in the building, it felt safer to come in and out of the building, even during evening hours. I stayed in the Deluxe Studio for a week and look forward to becoming a regular visitor.
