Guest Reviews
- venny (10/5): Lovely stop in Welsh Patagonia - Travelling by bus to Welsh Patagonia our destination was Trevelin but at last minute we decided to stay in Esquel instead so glad we did. Esquel is a lovely town with plenty of shops bars and restaurants. We booked one night then added a second. We had a ground floor room which had traffic noise in day but when it went dark very little noise. Staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast had a great choice and was totally self service, help yourself. We enjoyed wandering round Esquel it had a lovely feel to it and did the local bus to Trevelin and back.
- Peter (8/5): - Die Unterkunft bietet, was man braucht.
- W7549AEsues (8/5): Nice Hotel in Esquel - We were based here for 3 nights on a ski trip to La Hoya & it worked well for us as we had a vehicle & driver to drive us to the mountain & to the centre of town to eat although there were a couple restaurants in walking distance & a convenience store across the road. The hotel is clean, bright, the rooms quite spacious & comfortable &the staff very helpful. Breakfast was included & consisted of a buffet with a hot option cooked to order. I thought it a bit odd to charge extra for a Nespresso pod coffee!
There was a lovely hot tub & Sauna on the 1st floor which you book for a private session at no charge. My husband also had a massage which was pleasant if not brilliant but extremely cheap. There was a vending machine you could buy soft drinks & beer from & the staff were really happy to keep our wine chilled for us & supply glasses so we could have drinks in the lounge area downstairs before heading out for dinner. All in all we had a pleasant stay - probably a better spot if you have a vehicle but great value
- SATOSHI (10/5): - フレンドリー
- Ricardo Daniel (10/5): Muy buen lugar - estube tres dias y la pasamos genial
- Tipishca (6/5): A very average Travelodge - A stopover on our road trip through Northern Patagonia, I was grateful that we were only here for 1 night. Our check-in was perfunctory and we were shown to our room, the first one after the reception area on the ground floor. The room was a good size, but there were some dusty areas, neither bedside lamps functioned and there were stains on the duvet. Also, the toilet required brute strength in order to get the flush to work. Comfortable enough bed, the noise in the early hours (it was a Friday night) from passing cars with music booming was unfortunate. Breakfast was passable but the staff member kept well out of sight, seemingly avoiding any unnecessary interaction with us. Our overall experience bordered on OK but I wouldn't recommend a stay here based on our experience.
- dinosaurballoon (4/5): A pitstop for us travelling through, happy to leave - The location of this property is good, it’s in the centre of the town and close to nearby shops and restaurants.
The reception is nice and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, even with a complete language barrier.
The room itself is basic and worn, the light in the bathroom was coming away from the ceiling and it felt more like a hostel.
The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding didn’t look particularly fresh. I think it had been cleaned but stains were visible.
There was no safe to store any valuable items which wasn’t very comforting when the door doesn’t feel very sturdy.
The bathroom itself wasn’t very nice, it didn’t feel clean.
Unfortunately you can hear other guests talking and walking down the hallway, as well as opening and closing their doors which made it difficult to sleep.
WiFi was pretty much non existent.
- cporath (8/5): Centre of town - Nice hotel with modern rooms, but cheap breakfast. Overall the best was the guides estefania&walter who took us on the best trekking tours of te area and they are the best guides we ever had in patagonia (echereguini@gmail.com).
- apvbguy659 (8/5): a great place to base yourself for skiing la hoya - the staff is quite helpful and friendly, english speakers can feel comfortable here. the rooms are nice, basic but very adequate, the only knock on the hotel is that it is a bit of a walk, 1 minutes or so to the central part of town.
- ab2030 (8/5): Very decent hotel - Although located a little bit far from the center of the village, this hotel has a very friendly personnel, large rooms with air-conditioning installed in each room. We enjoyed our stay there and I highly recommend this place. they also have a great parking in the backyard.
- 309jeannec (6/5): Not a first choice in Esquel - But it had a room available when others didn't. The location is out of the centre but the casino and other resources are very close. Parking is spacious and secure. Arrriving mid-evening, it felt curiously deserted. There was just a receptionist; no bar, no restaurant, no chance of even a refreshment in the lobby though there are other options within a couple of blocks. In"// the morning, staff were positively helpful, and very concerned that late-sleepers shouldn't miss out on breakfast.
The room was compact but very clean; bathroom the same though showing some age. Minibar needs key from reception, there were supplies of tea/coffee, but a special request has to be made for a kettle! (We've been told elsewhere in the South that hotels need to keep a sharp eye out for their property).
It's rather basic, expensive for what it offers and other options would be preferred.
- PatagonianCoyhaique (4/5): Coiron a disappointment in Esquel - It certainly looked nice, nice solid building and very nicely decorated. Pricy though. First disappointment was that they only take cash, which is a problem in a city that doesn´t have too many ATMs, besides... it's the 21st century, how can you not take credit cards in a hotel??
Second disappointment, we couldn't get the promised internet to work and the person at the desk refused to call anybody to get us access. She also refused to reset the router, which was the first thing WIndows recommended on our computer diagnostics.
Third and last, we took a shower and the showerdoor leaked all over the place. The bathroom was a pool after a regular, short shower!
- Ritchy41 (8/5): Good hosteria ! - After checking out of our booked cabana which was too dusty to stay in we found this place. It is fairly new and located on one of the main roads of Esquel. The room was spacious, very good bed and quiet. Ask for a room on the back side. Breakfast was average with lots of pastries. It was a good stay but one the pricey side.
