Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): - Great location to Dodger Stadium and Chinese restaurants
- Monica (6/5): - The rooms are basic but clean. There’s a small refrigerator. It was very noisy however.
- Gary (8/5): - Close to bus stop.
Room could use some updating, but was very comfortable
- Juan (2/5): - Have a lot of updates too do
- Julia (10/5): - Really nice customer service, rooms are very clean. Quite. Beds comfortable. Rested very well 😌
- Shaun (6/5): A nice place to get lit - No real vending machines no breakfast or dinner or anything really. Hotel is basically ran by drug dealers and transients
- Bruno (8/5): - The room was very clean and perfect for our needs. Very close to dodger Stadium.
- anthony (10/5): - We had a beautiful view to the pool and really nice balconies you can sit on
- Fivaller (10/5): - Good value for the money
- James (10/5): - Staff was friendly. Parking was not an issue but can see it being one if it's a full house. Room was clean. Stayed here for Dodger games. 30 min walk. There is a Dodger express shuttle available nearby. It is uphill the last 15 mins no matter what route you take. Good pizza across the street at LaSorted's and breakfast/lunch at Nick's Cafe (don't let the exterior fool you). Phoenix Bakery was good too.
- Diana (10/5): - The rooms are clean and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay there again.
- Fivaller (10/5): - Good value for the money
- Joel (10/5): - The cultural representation at the property & in the rooms added value to the stay
- Sarina (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms. No hot water/ice, great connection to metro.
- Hugh (6/5): - OK place to spend the night.
Air conditioning is by window units. The controls don't have labels, so setting it up is all guesswork. Plus they run all night and make noise.
Parking is very tight. You could come back to the motel and discover there is no parking space available. Then you have to hope there is on-street parking. This significantly impacted my activities.
- James (8/5): Great place - very clean room. - Stayed for one night because of location to dodger stadium. Great staff and rooms are very clean and brand new. Super comfortable bed. The outside for the property could use a bit of a makeover to match how beautiful and new the rooms are. There is a bus stop directly outside the front door.
Only negative thing I will say is: the information on the listing that dodger stadium is a 10 minute walk is incorrect. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the property to the entrance gate of dodger stadium, and part of that walk is through a fairly sketchy neighbourhood and a weird winding tunnel. However, depending on when you go and return, there will be dozens of other fans walking the route as well.
All in all a great stay. Staff was helpful the few times I had to talk with them (holding my bag before check-in, giving me good directions for transportation)
- Sara (10/5): - Great spot for a dodger game stay.
- Jimmy (10/5): - Good
- Cristina (8/5): - We wanted to go to a dodgers game and this place was close enough to walk (24 minutes)
- Sergio (10/5): Perfect place for a staycation - This place is a gem in Chinatown LA. Rooms are so comfortable!
- Verified traveler (6/5): More Bad than Good - No trash can in room, no place to sit besides the bed, a lot of the outlets did not work. Bathroom is soooo small and shower water pressure is horrendously low. The walls are thin, you can hear your neighbor. Extra $10 a day to park at the hotel.
- Alyssa (8/5): - Na
- gabrielle (10/5): - Very fun decor, the staff was very friendly!
- Matana (10/5): - perfect
- Sergio (10/5): - Rooms are clean and spacious, front desk staff really friendly and thanks to housekeeping staff to having my room back really fast and perfectly clean
The art in the rooms are really cool and set up is perfect
- Mark Edward (8/5): Getting better but still a ways to go - Not sure when ownership changed, but this place was once a well-known dump. It is clear that many improvements have been made, particularly to the decor. Cool mid-century mod mini-fridges, mock film-industry klieg lights, "Chinatown" touches, and of course a good deal of Dodger worship.
On the other hand - the air conditioners are ancient, and the bathrooms should probably be upgraded next. Also, there is room for a small table for working - why not add one?
Parking situation is VERY tight.
Great area for walking around. Excellent cafe/wine bar directly across the street. Best of all, of course, you can't beat the price! Will definitely stay here again in hopes that they continue their upgrades.
- Kat (10/5): - I was really impressed how up-to-date these rooms are and how nice they are for the price. This is a really cute little hotel. I definitely will stay there again. Highly convenient to Union Station.
- Freda (10/5): - i had a great time staying here!! love that parking was available and easy, the room was super cute and the ac worked great, and the staff was all very helpful and nice! there's some great food options really close so you can just walk which is a definite plus. would definitely stay here again!
- Nou (8/5): - Like the area. Very lively and quite
- Cheryl (8/5): - Older place but fun room fecor and great liason for the Fodgers game
- Mikhail (10/5): - Great place for reasonable money
- Sherrylynn Jennifer (10/5): - nice place
- Brent (8/5): - Simple, basic, no frills, but at a good price. Older and smaller for sure, but served its purpose for this trip.
- Rachel (10/5): Affordable and peaceful safe haven - It was pleasent everytime i come here
- Nick (10/5): - Food options close by
- justine (10/5): - Epic
- Jw (8/5): - The place was ok served its purpose. Staff is not the best with the exception of the women who clean. They are very sweet. The front desk no personality
- Karen (10/5): - Only one thing has to be fixed! Wi fi, I don’t want to ruin my 5 star, they really deserve it, but they should know ppl visiting for work and they need at least normal internet!
- Silas (4/5): - Affordability
- Lora (10/5): Such a great hotel - Royal Pagoda is a great, no-frillsmotel with a great location -- close to major draws, in a fascinating neighborhood, etc. I love the Dodger-themed lobby because we were there mostly to take in a game. The staff was incredibly courteous and everything was clean. We will definitely stay there again.
- Scott (10/5): Cool place to stay - Amazing staff, seemingly nice area, we only stayed for one night but the beds were very comfy and clean. The floor was also very clean, the shower ran consistent hot water. The parking is a bit tight, but we managed it well. I would stay here again.
- Joann (10/5): We would definitely stay again 😁 - Very cute decor, super close to the stadium and to Keck hospital which is where I was going. Awesome Dodger decor in the lobby, great food finds right across the street. We went to La Storeds and it was delicious. $10 for parking per night. Small parking lot. Coffee maker and supplies in the room, water bottles, nice fridge and freezer.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a good idea to walk to Dodger Stadium - Walking to the Dodger Stadium is a nightmare. You have to climb uphill, and the surroundings are creepy. Other than that, the room had flies, but overall, it was clean, to be fair. The outside looks so old, but the interior is better.
- Max (2/5): - Do not book here
- Amanda (8/5): Decent place to sleep - We really only slept here for 1 night. We were able to check in early & get a nap before the Dodgers game. I would NOT recommend walking to the game from here like we did. The beds were not the best but we just needed 1 night so it was doable.
- Brendon (10/5): - Overall it was perfect for my stay in LA, very clean and comfortable, rooms were cleaned everyday. Only issue I had was my room was on the front of the motel so it got noisy with the street traffic, but over all very positive stay and perfect for anyone looking to go to a Dodgers game it’s super close to Dodgers Stadium!
- Lajaz (8/5): Hidden gem - It was good quiet and affordable front desk was very friendly and accommodating would go back
- Xuyen (8/5): - Great value for a short stay for a baseball game for me.
- JOANNE (6/5): Perfect for some - If you smoke, this is a great place. Our room was constantly being filled with the smell of pot from neighbors on both sides. Bathroom was extremely small. Plenty of outlets and rv channels. Plenty of food around, easy access to Dodger Stadium and friendly staff.
- Robert (10/5): - A superb hotel in a lovely area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good and convenient - Good spot lots of things to do close by.
- Mark (10/5): - Very clean hotel in great location (China Town).
- Crystal (4/5): - There were flies everywhere
- Michael (8/5): - Asian themed architecture was agreeable. Interior decorations are dated and not usual.
- Adrien (8/5): - Good hotel for the price, nothing special. The room was clean.
- Jw (6/5): - It was small and ok. Probably wouldn’t stay there again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean very inexpensive motel - Clean very inexpensive motel. great customer service. I would go back.
- Victoria (6/5): - Definitely not what I pictured it would be.
- Claudia (8/5): - Enjoyed the property and the surrounding area, the room itself was clean and spacious, it was decent for the overnight stay. Was conveniently located to union station and the baseball stadium. The only thing we didn’t like was the hard bed. Other than that, we would stay here again
- Erika (4/5): - The toilet did not work! Problematic really!!!
- Brandon (10/5): - Good basic hotel, they charge for parking would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Little loud at night from street.
- Harmit (10/5): - Was great, modest and very clean. Amazing staff.
- Deborah (10/5): - Great location at the edge of Chinatown in a nicely vintage-appearing hotel. Updated rooms are clean and attractive. Bed is very comfortable and shower is great. Staff was very kindly attentive. You're in the heart of the big city, so get used to street noises, but I found this to be a safe, convenient, clean, comfortable and affordable place to stay. Not elegant or ritzy, but utilitarian and a good value. I'd stay again.
- Seferino (2/5): - Tv didn’t work and no room for parking.
- Howard (8/5): - It's a good place to go to feel comfortable. Outlet where fridge didn't work. Only showers. No bathtub.
- Casey (10/5): - Best spot in Chinatown
- catherine (6/5): - Location is good, it is close to Dodger stadium. I would not recommend walking there. Granted my husband and I are 75 and 79 years old but in good shape. The stadium is straight uphill walking. It's best to drive.
The hotel staff, everyone are great. But the hotel needs a major renovation. Yes, it was clean, but it needs to be renovated.
- Geowany (4/5): - Small parking lot . If you not there early .. you have to park on the street.. and plus if you park inside they charge $10 extra for day
- Olga (10/5): - Amazing hospitality
Clean room
- Scott (10/5): - Great location, close to the stadium. Check in Desk clerk gave us great service and better directions to walk to stadium. Chinatown was a nice area.
- luis (8/5): - Charging for parking, use to be free. Reason non customer parking. Whats that got to do with paying customers.
- Sekou (10/5): - Love the unique "cinema" styled rooms. Lovely experience. Only issue: BEWARE OF PARKING. Very tight parking. Other than that, one of my favorite motels in California👌
- Michael (6/5): - Room smelled heavily of cigarettes and the gap between the wall and AC unit allowed folks smoking outside to have the air come in.
Room was clean, but
- Amine (2/5): - We had a bad service and bad communication plus the room is dirty
- Duc (10/5): - To many people gathered at night and few at daylight smoking wee.. I walked passed by and fell like I was a smoker. Hu Hu Hu where's the police when we need them.
- sung (2/5): - I went To Check in Yesterday, But They Said
There Were no Rooms, So I Just Came Back..
I Just Don"t understand Why Do they Accept
reservation When There are no rooms available
Because of that I had a really hard time...
- Ricardo (4/5): - Staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, professional, courteous, hardworking. Super close to Dodger Stadium!!! Room very clean. Linens clean. Lotsa traffic noise, as well as older property so walls seem thinner... Parking on property extremely limited. Near restaurants and park.
- Ignacio (10/5): - Strongly recommended to everyone
- Terry (6/5): - The room I was in leaked smoke in from the smokers outside
- DeeAnn (6/5): - If you’re looking for a no frills place to stay that is clean with friendly staff, this is it.
- WAYNE (10/5): - Awesome
- Rosemary (8/5): - Perfect location
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fine s - Could hear room next door playing loud music even late into the night. Bathroom vent / air is a bit severe so feels quite cold when the door’s closed. Front desk staff and housekeeping were very courteous and responsive, thought, especially when I forgot a jacket in the closet after checking out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All was awesome but oddly the room was not well lit which made it sort of tough to navigate without having my window wide open.
- Raymond (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was convenient to Dodger Stadium, rooms were large and clean, and I felt safe leaving my vehicle in the lot. Staff were incredibly nice as well. Truly a hidden gem in the heart of Chinatown!
- anthony (8/5): - Very good place to stay for the price
- Jodi (8/5): - Royal Pagoda is located right in the heart of Chinatown in downtown LA. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean. It was not modern by some standards but had everything you need to spend the night. Some nights are louder than others but they put earplugs in the room for you. There is a mini fridge, coffe maker and 2 bottled waters. We felt safe considering we were in downtown LA.
- Danny (10/5): - Staff is really nice and helpful
- ursula (8/5): - you can buy a $10 overnight parking pass which I did for the nights we stayed! there is not enough parking!! so you might have a pass but no parking! Very annoying. The rooms are small but clean. we had very loud neighbors.
Overall not really a good experience. ( first and last time)
The woman who do room service are amazing!! best thing about the property!!!
- Jocelyn (8/5): - I didn't have to pay for security deposit which was beautiful. Thank you.
- Marlown (10/5): - Great honest people left my bag in motel by mistake they are shipping to me
- WAYNE (10/5): - Great place to stay when I work in LA
- Corina (4/5): - The AC it is on the ruff and makes terrible noise.
- Courtney (2/5): Disgusting Manager - Denied me my stay while moving cross country because I had only a temp drivers license, then proceeded to make me feel like a fraud. Disgusting service.
- James (8/5): - If you're in L.A. and want a clean, simple place to rest your head and shower. This is a gem. It's location is at the edge of Chinatown w
- Angel (10/5): A must go back hotel - This hotel the Royal pagoda never seems to disappoint me and the customer service I get every time I visit here is always exceeding my expectations I will most definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and family
- Jossie (8/5): - Our stay was good, staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only negative was the parking lot had very limited space.
- Paola (10/5): - Great find for an impulsive trip. Nothing too fancy but it got the job done. Definitely a dated property but the rooms were clean and housekeeping came to leave fresh towels everyday. Great location, it's a quick walk to the Chinatown metro station.Check in was very easy and the property was generally quiet. There may be a bit of noise if you get a room near the street but they do provide ear plugs. Will definitely stay here again ifnim ever in the area.
- Mana (6/5): - Location is convenient.
- Jackie (4/5): - Very loud neighborhood
