• Trudi (10/5): Just a perfect stay the world’s most amazing city. - The suite was huge, stylish and clean. Slightly dark and lighting confusing, but not a big issue. Also, very soft pillows, firmer one needed.
• Diane (9/5): Fantastic time in Rome and loved where we stayed. - The location is the absolute best. Lovely quiet lane. The accommodation is lovely and restaurant very good. We were told we were being given a free upgrade on arrival, but felt the new suite was worse than the original we booked, so moved. Also, I would recommend booking the Junior Suite on the first floor, as it has lovely big windows, whereas ours was a little dark on the ground floor.

• Carina (8/5): Nice boutique hotel that’s good for small family - Location - quiet and quaint boutique hotel that feels like a nice soho, situated away from the main streets yet very accessible, surrounded by art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Size & Layout - spacious and sufficient storage for luggage and clothes. The stairs up to our unit upon check in and check out. Not very personalised and warm service. The presence of staff was only upon check in & out.

Cosy quiet but just next to the Spanish steps and shopping streets. Not that I didn’t like, but prefer to stay on the second floor than the ground floor.

• Cominos Dakin (8/5): - Margutta 54 Luxury Suites is centrally located just off Via del Corso, surrounded by art galleries and workshops, and only a short stroll to the Spanish Steps and other iconic sights. Tucked away within its own private courtyard off Via Margutta, the property offers a peaceful retreat and an authentic taste of Roman living. Reception is located 200 metres away at Margutta 19. Travelling with my 83-year-old father, we were kindly offered golf buggy transport to and from our suite for check-in and check-out. Suite 6 is accessed via a short flight of stairs, They do have other suites located at ground level. This suite was the last one left at a great price. However, older travellers or those with mobility concerns may wish to confirm accessibility with the property in advance.

• Sharon (5/5): Very disappointing - Location is good Rooms old. First room we were given smelt awful and very musty. We were told it was an upgrade but that was hard to believe was nothing like the photos of room I had booked. I’m an asthmatic so we asked to be moved to another room which was better however my husband is now covered in bed bug bites since staying at the accommodation. Not good value for money and needs more attention paid to cleanliness

• Tim (7/5): Good - spacious and quiet hotel, nice location Unfortunately, we missed our train to Rome, which required us to reschedule our hotel transfer. We were informed that the hotel works with an external car service that requires a 24-hour notice for any changes, and as a result, we were charged twice for a single transfer from the train station (€60 + €60). While the hotel staff did apologise and offered a gesture of goodwill in the form of fresh fruit, the situation was handled in a way that felt rigid and not particularly customer-focused. Additionally, we were surprised to find that a 10% surcharge is applied to payments made by credit card — which seems quite outdated in 2025.

The staff dont speak English fluently, as a result, we were confused about the car parking limitation. They could advise us to drop our packages in the reception by car instead of telling us to meet in the central square, 250 meters from the reception. 3. Also, the room has no actual window, no view, as the window view is in the common area (zero privacy without close curtains)

• Lisa (8/5): Margutta 54 is our go-to when in Rome! - This is our third stay at Margutta 54, we love the location, the spaciousness of the apartment, the privacy, the bed is comfortable. We love that we can walk everywhere, we love all the recommendations in Alberto's 'A Roman Notebook". Perhaps some general maintenance in the apartment, the wardrobe doors are difficult to slide, better lighting but overall we love the apartment.

• Jeremy (6/5): - First, one needs to understand that this is an apartment that sits 1.5 blocks away from the hotel. Not too serious. The space is big and nicely appointed but it does feel a bit like a garage. There is a window door in front but no other windows in the apartment. This made it feel a bit like a cave. Add to this that the space was on the street level and so the curtains are needed to block the window. Most serious, the apartment was dank, humid. My wife smelled moldiness and one day we got caught in rain and our stuff took 2 days to dry out. The floor always felt kind of wet.The space desperately needs a dehumidifier. All in all, this was not worth the 500 euros we spent per night. Not even close! Disappointed.

The hotel was fully booked so they organized a move to a nearby hotel to a large suite - a more expensive option which they funded. This part of Rome is an excellent base for site seeing and we would stay in either hotel again.

Walking distance to a lot of attractions (and the best shopping) yet set back from the crowds and quiet. Felt very safe. - There is a short walk from the reception area to the rooms but the price compensates that. The walk is short and beautiful. The porters will assist with the luggage in a bike. - The soundproofing between levels is not good. We stayed on the bottom level and could hear every footstep and stool/chair moved. Not great for a lightsleeper

Perfect - The location is wonderful and the fact that it is hidden back off from the street means that it is very private and peaceful. The bathroom was a little tired and the floors were quite dirty even though the cleaners would come in everyday. I don’t think the floors were cleaned properly.

Situé dans une cour intérieure, c'était joli. Les deux seuls points négatifs étaient que le canapé-lit était dur et -comme il n'y a pas de fenêtre à ouvrir- la ventilation était bruyante.

The floor of the room was not clean, which we noticed when walking barefoot or in socks inside the room, would leave a literal black film on the bottom of our feet

• Steve (9/5): It was a pleasantly quiet hotel in a very busy central area. - The location is perfect. It’s located in a quiet street but just a block away is the Main Street full of shops and cafes. The room is big, quite unusual for a city in a Europe. It is separate from the main hotel. There’s no room service but other than that, I love the hotel.
