• Yusuke (9/5): Stylish, welcoming, and full of character — one of the most memorable hotel stays I’ve had in Sydney. - Staying at Ace Hotel had been on my bucket list for a long time, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. The hotel itself is very stylish and trendy, but what really made our stay special was the warm hospitality from the staff. Even though they seemed very busy, the reception staff were always kind and welcoming. I especially appreciated the staff member who kindly checked the stock room twice to help me look for my jumper. Thank you again for your help. The room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The food and drinks were also really nice — particularly breakfast at Loam. The French toast was amazing and I will miss it very soon. The waiting staff also seated us at a lovely corner table where we could enjoy the atmosphere of the whole floor. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would love to come back again someday.

• Danielle (7/5): I’d probably stay again to give the staff another chance, but if you live a warm welcoming and hospitable staff from you - Ace has great interiors and a cozy vibe from the rooms to the lobby, and onsite restaurants. A great location for travelling to Sydney cbd for work or pleasure Unfortunately the staff didn’t give the service you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Often they seemed overwhelmed and rushing to end the interaction quickly. Just an overall unpleasant air about the entire staff from the check in to checkout.

• Andrea (6/5): It’s fine, not worth the $ in my experience, too many small issues which added up. - All staff were courteous and very polite and very obliging except for one staff member at the front desk who left the desk unattended and when she was told by the bouncer I was waiting- seemed annoyed. It was the second time I’d been down bc my keycard wasn’t working. She didn’t apologise she just said she’d swap it over. I mentioned it had happened earlier and she repeated that she’d swap it over. Key card didn’t work twice in one day and three times on the last day. One quite annoyed staff member. Wifi went down for quite a few hours on one evening. The rooms were ok, toilet door has a large gap at the top. Generally low accessibility including stairs for luggage as you enter (which the staff then have to carry up!), number signage of rooms can be difficult to read, black light switches with black etching written on them explaining what they were for making it difficult to read, and very low lighting in shower/toilet. Bed was unfortunately so soft I had to ask them to change the mattress over, which they did (thank you) and made one side useable. Room wasn’t serviced one of the weekend days, as by the time I arrived back in the late afternoon, the housekeeper hadn’t reached my room. Unable to use the chair/desk for any work because they were the same height. For the price, stay somewhere else!

• Tidus (6/5): I like the venues, hated the room. - The restaurants and the foyer decorations Everything in the room was poorly curated. Shower towel with no hanger, from door to bathroom with no separators. It felt like it was going for a meshup trendy vibe, but half planned everything. The room is at best, a 3 star. Don’t know how you would label it as a 5. I arrive at 9pm to check in, and I could barely hear the reception with the bar turning into some night club. I wanted peace and quiet after long travels, and arriving at a loud reception with music blasting from the bar.

I was super impressed. The hotel itself was lovely, however the QR-code room service ordering system seriously needs improvement. Had to call down to reception twice for some cold milk in the morning for a cup of tea, this took 40 mins. No hand soap just lotion at the sink.

• Tattoli (4/5): - I have always loved the hotels rooms, the staff and restaurants. My swipe card failed to open my room door almost every time I needed to access it. More often than not, I found myself travelling up and down between the 9th floor and reception two or three times just to regain entry, all after being repeatedly reassured by staff that the issue had been resolved. Extending my booking was equally clunky and had to be completed twice due to the app failing to correctly relay information to the hotel’s internal system. I still genuinely adore the property, which is what makes the experience such a shame. Unfortunately, after what felt like the tenth time my swipe card failed, I decided to continue my stay elsewhere.

Loam downstairs offered good breakfasts and good value. Bedroom doors were hard to open and enter in wheelchair. Lift door closed very quickly. The electric jug in room had a European plug be took all day to get another jug! Lighting system was hard to work out initially, lots of lights with different switches. The hotel is located incorrectly on google maps used by 13 cab drivers. 2 drivers went to wrong location and my daughter had to redirect one driver taking us to Opera House. Best to get hotel staff to order taxi for you. Someone should alert google maps. Had to get out of wheelchair to access footpath to entrance of hotel. Curb very steep. If someone not able to do this no access for wheelchair users.

Highly recommended. - Great basic breakfast at Good Chemistry My only gripe is the only accessible entrance is via the bar/restaurant area, which is very busy and loud in the evenings and not great if you have a baby in a pram, as they will certainly be woken up. It also makes checking in a bit of a hassle for people mobility constraints.

• Ying Xuan (5/5): Form over function - Interesting and edgy decor, staff are generally friendly, gym that is actually functional. Got the vibes that the rooms were more form over function, not the easiest to read room numbers, no racks for bath towels despite being "eco friendly", no water supplied in room so many guests were entering the gym to fill their water bottles instead, no soap dish for bar of soap at sink, bathroom lighting were quite dim, 2 sets of 3 x stairs right on entry is not exactly accessible. We stored our luggages at the hotel after check out, and on return, one of the luggages' extendable handle was damaged, bent and unable to be collapsed. Manager reviewed video and states the handle was already extended when the baggage was handed over, and anyway they do not take responsibility for lost or damaged items in their storage. We did witness staff grabbing that same luggage by the extendable handles to lift and carry it down the flights of stairs instead of by the actual lift handle.

The artworks are great! - The style ( those vinyls which you can play at your room!), the attitude ( DJ at the bar) and breakfast! There is no breakfast buffe, you have to come and choose from excellent breakfast menu. Or, if you want - go explore other excellent breakfast places nearby. • Susan (9/5): Boutique hotel in the heart of Surry hills - Love the location, not too far from city but in the funky suburb of Surry Hills, where wine bars, pubs and delicious food / restaurants are almost on every corner! The room was very small, but suitable for one person and one night.
