Guest Reviews
- MatOster (10/5): A very nice discovery !! - I went there with my friend to enjoy Dublin, and we were mesmerized by how welcomed we were !
Agreable room, a practical kitchen, nice facilities...
We'll gladly come back there next time ! :D
Thanks again for everything !
- Sylvie (6/5): Passable - Lit trop petit. Matelas à ressort inconfortable. Pas de serviette à disposition.
- irenedelolmob (10/5): Good value for money - Close enough to the city centre (15-20 min aprox), and the is right outside the door. Clean, many storage site, easy to check-in and access to the building. Very helpful staff and many common kitchen facilities.
- Cd90746 (4/5): Reasonable rooms, poor surrounding area - We didn't expect a great deal from student accommodation, however what was not advertised were the sweltering rooms, the windows that would barely open and the area where we did not feel safe, with drunks and drug addicts wandering the streets and keeping us awake all night.
The staff were the saving grace, we received a very warm reception and great assistance throughout our stay.
The rooms were basic as expected but clean and tidy. Bathrooms in particular, shared kitchen was a little messy but to be expected for a shared area.
I hate leaving a poor review and normally will keep my mouth shut, but when the price is €165/night I expected to sleep a little.
I'm sure if you're a heavy sleeper and plan to taxi around you'll get on just fine.
- charlotteroberts578 (8/5): Affordable convenient stay - Very convenient location and affordable compared to other accommodation in the area. 24 hour check-in was extremely useful as our flight was delayed. The room was spacious and modern. My only complaint is that the floor was very dirty.
- NiTri142 (10/5): Great value for money - The accommodation is a great place to stay when you are visiting Dublin on a budget. It is close to the city center (walking distance) and you can easily reach it by bus (16 or 41 - best is to get yourself a leap visitor card at the airport). Our room was clean and had surprisingly much space to store clothes etc. Make sure to check out the roof terrace (6th floor, block A) :)
- Michael (8/5): - Alles top. Genau wie auf der Buchungsseite angegeben.
- Novus2023 (10/5): Modern and Clean Hostel with Great Facilities and Friendly Staff - Our room was clean, and the overall building was new and modern and in good condition. The hostel featured a common room and kitchen with all necessary appliances for every ~6 rooms. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Sadly, there was no soap available for the entire duration of our stay, but we were given extra shampoo and free towels in compensation, so it was no big issue.
- Lauraflood5 (6/5): Friendly staff but some areas of improvement needed - The positives: the staff are really friendly and it’s a fair price for what you’re getting.
The negatives: the doors slam shut behind you in the apartments so I felt a bit restless sometimes hearing doors slamming all day and night. The mattress is also very poor quality and I felt like I was going right through to the baseboard. Also the last suggestion that I would give is that I don’t think it’s fair or appropriate for them to allow children to stay here. Dorm style accommodation works for adults because adults can have some level of consideration for each other while sharing a space. I had to move rooms late at night because a whole extended family checked into my apartment and there were about 8 kids under the age of 6 who were screaming and banging on people’s doors. I was sitting the professional law exams the next morning and tried to ask to not put me in an apartment with kids when I checked in but I was very happy that the girl at the desk moved me and was nice about it. So overall if I had to stay here again I would and the staff is very nice but just a few issues that could use some work!
- helen682023 (8/5): Great location at a great price. - This was a sightseeing trip for myself and my son. The location was great for myself but a little too much walking for my child! There are at least four McDonalds Restaurants within walking distance and we visited three of them!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Smart use of student accom for a comfy stay! - Had a great stay, the room was clean and the location easy access to the city centre. It had almost everything we needed (including towels for a small fee) except for hand soap in the bathroom. Makes total sense to use this as a hotel during the summer and we would return!
- jello1501 (6/5): OK for price - Very basic and a bit noisy. Floor to ceiling windows mean no privacy from street.
Very cheap by Dublin standards though.
Very clean and modern though.
You should be aware tat you will be charged extra if you need towels.
Fine for a one night stay.
- ainsleybrolly2022 (4/5): Not hotel standards - Second night was a disaster. Fire alarm went off 12 times from 5.15 with no communication from staff whatsoever. 3-4 times in understandable: 12 is a joke. Disturbed nights sleep which they now refuse to refund. Felt like a student again- NOT a hotel experience
- Caitlin (8/5): Immaculately clean, quiet place in good area. - Not far from city centre, very clean and modern, with an excellent offering of sockets including USB. Staff were pleasant, the room quiet and spotlessly clean.
Despite the noisiest bed in existence, where every small movement caused a racket, my stay was good and I would stay again. With earplugs.
- 223lenah (8/5): Easy walk to the city attractions - We had a self contained apartment so as a family of five could stay in Dublin for a reasonable price and have some cooking facilities which we didn’t use but the option was there. The apartment is secure with a key fob gate and then entry into the apartment. Each room had it’s own key fob so we would unlock our rooms and leave the keys on the floor outside as I didn’t want the children locked in their rooms as you couldn’t access them without the key. The reception staff were very welcoming and you could help yourself to complimentary tea, coffee and milk, shampoo and shower gel. We were able to use the Parnell Centre Carpark which was just a short walk away and booked it as a hotel stay for 24 hours online. It was very easy to book and exit with the paid voucher costing €12.50. There was a small gym and games room that you could use. The beds were fairly comfy and it was very clean.
- 931martaz (6/5): Luxury hostel - Chapest central option for visiting Dublin during 3 days
But still expensive for its services: the room was very small and not perfectly clean, they don’t clean the kitchen very often and this is not so equipped
Anyways the staff is super kind :)
Towels and toiletteries are to be pick up at the reception (for free, and it was not so clear before the check-in)
- Frederic (10/5): Good spot in Dublin - Nous avons adoré rester à Destiny student.
- Tara (10/5): - Accommodations were clean and convenient. Washing facilities available. Nice staff. Kids allowed!
- Ainsley (4/5): - Floors weren’t properly cleaned and the fire alarm went of 12 times from 5.15-6.45 in the morning preventing sleep. Charges hotel prices but did not provide hotel service. Should probably advertise as budget accommodation.
- Z1246EClauraa (10/5): Comfortable place - I was very happy with the room with private bathroom, it was light, modern, and very clean. The living areas are also functional and spacious. I'm sorry I didn't check the roof top or the laundry facilities, it seems this place has much more to offer but I was there only for a few days. The staff was friendly and helpful and the place is located within walking distance to many touristic landmarks in Dublin. My only downside is that the residence is situated in a sort of a back street that becomes very quiet at night and I didn't like that so much.
- gee5641 (6/5): Student living - Stayed here for one night, it's cheap enough compared to nearby hotels for somewhere to kip.
Reception was friendly and efficient, able to store my bag safely for 5euro for the day while I went about my business.
Room is basic, you'll need to provide your own toiletries and towel although you can pick them up from reception. I had an ensuite and overall the accommodation was clean. They are student flats so it's narrow corridors and shared facilities. Room got particularly warm at night, and there is noise from the Luas tram that run right outside.
Luas is 5mins walk away and I'd be aware when walking at night as there are derelict areas nearby.
- Steve_B_333 (8/5): Great location and price. - The accommodation is in a great location, and at a great price. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating. Word of warning though - you WILL need the free ear plugs they offer, especially if your room is next to the tram line, as it is very noisy at night time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location and shirt walk into the centre. Good secure building, clean and comfortable rooms with plenty of storage and an en-suite but shared kitchen for self caterers, minimal crockery to use. We just wanted board for the duration of our stay and this was cheap and affordable so suited us. Our room was at the front of the building so there was street noise and the LUAS going by every few minutes, Lots of door banging by other guests and thin walls do noise echoed and travelled could hear not ideal for light sleepers.
- LittleRT (6/5): Dublin Stay - If you like slamming doors all night this is the place for you! Overall this place is ok. Room cleanliness and noise where huge factors on why I have rated so low. However, the staff and check in process was top notch.
- Karin (6/5): - Het bed was erg slecht.
- nellieeastland (10/5): Cheaper City break close to centre - great place, abour a 15 minute walk into the city centre where you can get buses to everywhere. Loved the option of self catering which meant we could save a bit of money on eating out and breakfast for example. Really clean and well furnished student room, wish I had this kind of room at university!! Perfect for a couple.
- Fook Sun (8/5): - Put a few towels in the room will be very much appreciated.
- Eliza (10/5): - Great location, good value for money, clean, and friendly staff! Great place to stay!
- Flora (10/5): Cery bice! - Would definitely return to this place!
- Josh (10/5): - Very nice staff na d hotel room honestly amazing however doors are icreadibly loud to the point when others open their door you think its your one due to the shaking but apart from that absolute minor amazing people and great gotel
- Xoel (10/5): - It's a clean and safe accomodation, the staff is polite and will help you in whatever you need, and also you have touristic places like the Temple Bar at a /- 10 minutes walk. I would remark that the room it's so big and the bed was huge and comfortable.
- Vittorio (10/5): Ottima struttura - Splendido posto in posizione strategica, non proprio in centro ma a distanza ideale a piedi. Stanze comode e servizi ottimi.
- Andreia (2/5): - It was a horrible experience. Never again
- Douglas (10/5): - Great quick place to stay! No A/C but it cooled down at night w/ window open.. Besides that 👍
- Michael (10/5): - Real cheap option to the overpriced hotels in Dublin. You Get your own room and bathroom but share the common rooms. I never went in there, so it didn’t mean anything to me. There’s no tv but you can watch tv when you get home!
- Ryan (8/5): - Overall a good stay with facilities in order and a barebones spartan environment. I got a room with a private bathroom and shower, and it served me well. The only issue I had was that there is no A/C in the unit and since I was traveling in summer it was very hot and when I went to open the window (which only opened a sliver), I could hear the people and traffic from the street. This changes a lot depending on which side of the building you end up facing.
- Thomas (10/5): - Very helpful staff.
- Zach (4/5): - Very uncomfortable beds
- Lukazz (8/5): Good standard for good price - Good standard for good price . Only 20 mins to city centre by walk. Friendly staff.
- Sinead (10/5): - Great place to stay. Modern and clean and the staff is all really friendly and helpful. Luke at reception was very helpful and answered all our questions. Would stay here again.
- Craig (10/5): Excellent - I enjoyed it a lot. Interesting, handy location, not a romantic stay, a bit hot due to the full height window. Will stay again. Parking a bit of a walk but town centre location. Bring a towel and toiletries or you will need to buy. Excellent value - big shower
- Verified traveler (8/5): 4 nights at Dominic Place student destiny - My overall residence was so great! The receptionists were so friendly and quick to respond and I liked the setting area there. There was a cafe that I thought would be convenient to order from but most of the time was closed. Corridors and lifts were clean all time! As a student, my room was lovely and beautifully designed. It was a bit that bed sheet me couldn’t be served before 7 days and if you want you have to pay 30€. I wish if the price could be more affordable similarly to the trowels rents 3€ because when it’s summer it’s uncomfortable to stay in the bedsheet for more than three days. Thank you dominin place for hosting :)
- unyime (8/5): - This property is in a convenient location if visiting Dublin, it is in very close proximity to the city center. The property was spacious for a large family but did not like that the floors of the room were not clean. Also, the room has floor-to-ceiling glass windows with roller blinds. Due to the warm weather, you couldn't really have the roller blinds down for privacy because it will block out the ventilation into the rooms. It was obvious other guests in rooms across the courtyard could see into other rooms, especially at night with the rooms lit. It was awkward when someone in another room was waving to my daughters in their room, I had to roll down their blinds half way
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great experience, recommended - Perfect location, near the main streets. The place was clean and had a lot of additional service (ex. Gym)
- Paul (4/5): - Cost reasonable. Area unsafe, no towel,no tea/coffee facilities, room small and hot, no tv.
- Miku (2/5): - Shower room was not cleaned at all. We found strangers hair and dust everywhere in the bath room and the pillow cases was also not clean. ( seemed like not changed) I don’t recommend to stay here at all.
- Isabel (10/5): Estancia muy tranquila - Cómodo y buen situado.
- Eric (10/5): - Nice place, quiet and near downtown. It is the second time and if we return to Dublin we will come back to Destiny Student - Dominick Place.
- Jenny (8/5): - It was nice that there is a kitchen near to the room. It would be even nicer if it was not so noisy in the evening.
- Alison (10/5): - Easy checkin, accommodating staff, good amenities, quiet, decent amount of space for two
- Jeanne (8/5): - Felt safe. Accommodations were adequate but property needed some attention. Our room was warm at time as the windows were only able to be opened a small bit due to security. They did tent fans for $ 20. Not a very attractive neighborhood however. I think it’s undergoing renovations and it might eventually be nicer. Hope so anyway.
- Denisse Paulina (8/5): - I have enjoyed staying at this place, actually I have stayed longer than I thought, the only thing I would ask is about the amenities, this summer has been extremely hot in Dublin, the place offers fans at the lobby with a rent fee which is fine, but I would prefer if that fee was refundable, just to make the stay more pleasant ;)
- John (8/5): - They asked me ti pay 3 Euros for one towel. There were none in the room.
There is a complicated series of corridors and security doors to navigate to reach your room.
- Daniel (10/5): - Nice place to stay.
- Herbert (8/5): - First of all, the room itself was fine. It was spacious enough and included a television, refrigerator, toaster and hot water thermos. The gym was satisfactory. The toiletries were available as needed.
Unfortunately, the room doesn’t have towels; should be included! The area isn’t very nice. It’s a 12-15 minute walk to get to where you’ll want to be.
However, compared to the prices for hotels in the Center I would choose it again.
- miles (4/5): - The bed was one of the most uncomfortable things I've slept on and the shower drain was blocked somewhere so the entire bathroom flooded with water. The room had zero soap anywhere and the front desk said they must have run out. I had no soap provided for my three day stay. The room temperature was incredibly hot as well.
- Moshe (6/5): - The room is smaller then the pictures
- Eulalie (10/5): - My bed had a period stain on the mattress that was very noticeable (not on the sheets).
- Chris (8/5): - Decent accommodation. Good work set up. Have to pay for extras such as towels, etc
- Kyle (6/5): - Probably one of the most chaotic check ins Ive ever experienced. A queue down the street to check in, not enough staff, the check in process took way too long. Asking for information that was already on the booking for almost all guests. The staff were clearly overworked and under a lot of pressure. This is the problem with allowing foreign vulture funds turn student accommodation into hotels. They aren't designed for welcoming guests on a daily basis.
- Sue (10/5): - We were only here for one night but it felt very homely. Comfortable bed clean living area. Staff very helpful. Would stay again.
