Guest Reviews
- robert (10/5): Brilliant Wendy is a star - On the beach. Wendy was amazing sorted food, ran the bar Even bingo Nothing
- Michael (2/5): - ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!
It's a long list of complaints...
1. 2 hours late to check us in even after we notified them TWICE we were in vicinity
2. BUGS BUGS BUGS we realized we are on a tropical island but my wife LITERALLY SLEPT in RAINGEAR to protect herself from bites...they told us to keep "doors closed"!!!
I DID NOT pay for a beachfront location to have to have windows closed..
3. Internet password was INCORRECT
4. Shut off ALL WATER from 8pm til 5am WITHOUT NOTIFYING US( they say it's common on the island)
5. Large and multiple holes in SCREENS which is why they said keep doors closed
which of course means NO NIGHTTIME OCEAN BREEZE or WAVE SOUNDS
upon MULTIPLE communications with property MANAGER and eventually THE OWNER they allowed us to checkout late..
OFFERED NO COMPENSATION whatsoever.
My wife and I have been to MULTIPLE COUNTRIES at different times of year this was BY FAR OUR WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE regardless of how nice the pictures may seem
- Sonja (7/5): Great Host, Okay Facilities - Our host, was welcoming and friendly. The restaurant on-site had fantastic food. The room was well decorated and directly on the beach. There was plenty of storage for our things. Our host assisted with our needs for a taxi and a rental car. We were made to feel at home and had great conversations. The room only has a fan and the one we were assigned did not have a screen on the slider. There were lots of insects, so it was hard to cool the room down. Once we explained this, the host put a screen on the slider which rectified this situation. The location is fairly remote. You can access pink sand beach, but need transportation to access other beaches and the town. On multiple nights, the water turned off and we had to go to the host to get it running again.
- Sarah (2/5): Total disappointment, misleading description, left early. - The hut itself is simple but nicely done.
The lady who does the cooking (we think her name was Maria) was lovely and warm and kind 1) Misleading. Attracted by the sea view. Unfortunately the beach no longer looks like the photos. The location is very industrial, it's not a beach paradise as the photos suggest. Every direction you look you can see industry.
2) terrible problem with mosquitoes and sand flies. We understand there was a storm a couple of weeks ago but we were not forewarned and staff described it when we got there as like a "pandemic". We had bought deet which staff only told us the day after we were ravaged by bites that it doesn't work there. We are still itching days later. The screens don't keep out sand flies so by morning we were covered.
3) unwelcoming staff (except the kitchen lady Maria who was lovely). Staff seemed uninterested in helping us with requirements, food etc. Didn't provide any advice or info about the area. Food only available with cash which we hadn't been forewarned about and the lady told us, only when asked, that the ATM frequently doesn't work (so take plenty of money if you are going). Need to order dinner in advance, otherwise you go hungry, which also wasn't explained clearly.
Impossible to relax, not an enjoyable or comfortable experience at all and so we checked out 2 days early (it is notable that when we went to check out early there was no concern shown as to why this might be the case and we were just told to leave the key on the table).
- Ania (10/5): Unique beach experience in Barbuda. - Perfect location on the beach, magnificent sunsets, impecabble cleaniness, and friedliness of staff. Wendy was great and very helpful!
All cleaned every day and the possibility to order a tasty breakfast or burger at Harry's was greatly appreciated. Unique experience. As a lot of development is done in the area, construction trucks pass by and make it dusty. For the evenings, strong bug repellent if sitting outside is a must (sand fleas?).
- Julie (9/5): Your own private cabin on the beach with your own Private beach - whats not to like!!? - It was the most beautiful place & right on thebeach when you swam in the sea with Pelicans diving all around you - fantastic!! At night the Donkeys & horses come down to the beach & Lola the Cat was a lot of fun!!
I messed up at the beginning of the holiday & had accidentally booked twice but Peter from the management company just cancelled the booking free of charge for me only a few days before our stay - Thank you Peter!!
Wendy who runs the cabins & Harry’s bar was brilliant & helped us with any bookings & trips & her food in Harry’s was delicious - thank you Wendy!! It was quiet close to the sand making machine with lorries coming & going but that never took away the wonder of this property
