Guest Reviews
- Miletic (1/5): Bad - To be honest it wasnt clean at all, as soon as i entere the room i saw bed bugs on my pillow, i packed my things and left.
- Mohd (1/5): Very no good - Dirty...no clean in the room...so hot...no privacy On board for washing machine 200tl but request to me 300tl...don't have fix price...very bad
- Salma (8/5): Good and safe place - Location, staff flexibility, quite. Bed pugs
- M. (5/5): Mosquitoes in the rooms need at least a small fan in every room. And the price is not that cheap. - I like the location, the people around, and the initiative itself of the place. The rooms were full of mosquitoes, and the weather wasn't cool enough to put something on your body to save it from mosquitoes. I had not even a single night good sleep out of three.
- Ali (1/5): Bad -
- Titanilla (1/5): Bad - Nothing Bed bugs!!!!
- Sharif (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marek (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad - Very poor accommodation
- Md (8/5): Very good - Fan should be easily available. Its ok
- Eyaz (9/5): Superb -
- Mhamed (1/5): Bedbugs be aware!! pics included - This is my second review for my second stay. My first review i gave this hostel a 7/10 but this time it is a 0. Will not stay there again even if they pay me. There are a lot of bedbugs in at least the room I was given. I took videos and pictures of crawling bedbugs some full of blood. Will never go to this hostel again. I talked to the responsible at night he didn't want to give me another room eventhough I showed him the video and picture. He just open the front door and I left at about 2 am. Had to look for another hotel at about 3 am .
- Kari (10/5): Exceptional - Nice hostel in central location. Very friendly staff.
- Islam (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elzbieta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ante (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation, staff, location and price are excellent The bathroom and toilet should be cleaned better.
- Mehdi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicolas (7/5): Good - The location, the price and friendly staff.
There s a supermarket just next door, so convenient. Metro or bus are not far as well. You can have your own room for the price of a dormitory in Istanbul. The staff do their best in English. There is a window emplacement but no window so mosquitos will freely enter your room, and any tiny sound can be heard.
- Yusuke (7/5): Good - Value of money Bathroom and garden are not clean
- Mhamed (7/5): Good - Cheap, somewhat clean and good location. Also it is the upper side of a Hamam. Good hot and cold water in showers The air inside the room doesn't recycle it is a tiny room with no air coming through, and there are a lot of mosquitoes, I mean a lot, the walls have many spots of dead mosquitoes and old blood splashes, I terminated more than 5 in one night, and I couldn't sleep the last night since every half an hour a mosquito comes to the room from a tiny opening above the door. I would suggest you buy something for mosquito and you will be ok. bathrooms need more cleaning. I would say if you are on budget it is a good choice but you get what you paid for.
- Timothée (7/5): Good - Great location and very cheap Dirty room and sheets, dirty toilets and bathroom, smells bad everywhere.
- Ochocinski (10/5): Exceptional - Very good the best in istanbul
- Anonymous (8/5): Great location, awesome value for money, only cleanliness brings it down - Location is truly 10/10, walking distance to the Egyptian Bazaar/the waterfront of the Bosphorus, good luck trying to find a place that comes even close to this for value (NZD 20/night when I booked) The cleanliness can be worked on, and the bathrooms did not have a pleasant smell to them, the window gap above the rooms is also slightly annoying
- Rafiq (1/5): Bad - it was a very bad experience, room was much smaller, no A/C or even fan, just a whole on the top of the door, big size mosquitoes in night, bathrooms were very dirty, i hardly spend one night and other day leave the hotel and take another room in another hotel, i paid in beginning for three nights, requested several times to the owner that i spend one night and ur wash rooms are very bad so i cant stay here refund me two days money, but he didn't listen anything, very bad behavior of the owner, not recommend this hostel to anyone. Washrooms, room, owner behavior.
- Ghulam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andreas (10/5): Fabulous, will come again, staff extremely nice -
- Juliet (3/5): Poor - I had announced an early check out but I found closed the door and it wasn't possible find someone from hostel. It was and stressing situation of loosing the flight . Besides the noise made for the same staff during night ( streaming and cursing at football games on tv etc). They didn't give any useful information about transport o places. Rooms really cold....and only a thin bed sheet, no blankets
- César (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was súper friendly More clean in the bathrooms
- Yuka (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Cultural experience in a Turkish Hamam / Bath House with great privacy and value for your money - Very interesting building (as it is also a historic but still operating hamam / bath house)! Also, super nice to have a hostel with private rooms for everyone.
- Sama (10/5): The room was as expected as the pictures exactly the stuff was friendly. - The staff was really nice

- Omar (5/5): Passable - Close to most places There is no Sound isolation
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohammad (10/5): Good - Very close to the Center Nothing
- Vaseem (7/5): the price of it was good - the staff was very helpful, Abdullah was very helpful when the taxi from the airport charge me twice, so he tried to solve the problem and on my way back to the airport he arrange my taxi so I wouldn't have any problem, the location was very good easy to get the main centre. the toilet facility could be better mainten and clean, you could hear people snoring, also sleeping on plastic cover on the mattress is very uncomfortable.
- Muhammad (10/5): Thanks - Customer service Too small
- Sergei (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Near a large number of cafes, grocery shop. Galata Bridge in 15 minutes on foot.
- Ahtsham (7/5): Amazing - Everything Nothing
- Smiltė (6/5): Good connection with a city, worth the money but not perfect. - The location and connection with a city is a perfect, all are near. Very loud in the mornings and in the evenings should be keep a silence at all, there are was no any cleaning in 9 days.
- Rukhsar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonja (8/5): Very good -
- César (9/5): Superb -
- Andreas (9/5): Great stay at historic building with wonderful personnel. Bring earplugs. - Great location, inexpensive, wonderful personnel, historic building, atmospheric, discount on hamam. The noise can be disturbing at times, the doors are thin. Bring earplugs, then it will be great.
- César (9/5): Superb - A little bit cleaning.
- Raluca (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yul (7/5): Good - Location Very Central
- Beladam (10/5): Exceptional - Price
- Adil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ali (8/5): Good - Good Good
- Attique (10/5): Exceptional -
- Salm (8/5): Very good - The people work they all good Free washing machine
- Ehsan (4/5): My stay was disappointing due to cleanliness issues and unhelpful staff, despite the benefit of a pr - The main highlight of my stay was having a private room, which provided a sense of privacy and comfort during my time in Istanbul. It was nice to have my own space away from the hustle and bustle. Additionally, the location of the hostel was convenient, making it easy to access various attractions and public transportation options. This allowed me to explore the city without much hassle. nfortunately, there were several aspects of my stay that were disappointing. Firstly, the cleanliness of the hostel was below expectations; both the common areas and my room could have used a thorough cleaning. This significantly affected my comfort level during my stay.
Additionally, the staff was not very helpful or accommodating. Whenever I approached them with questions or requests, I often received short or dismissive responses, which made me feel unwelcome. The overall atmosphere of the hostel lacked the friendliness and support I experienced in other hostels in Istanbul, which made my stay less enjoyable.
Lastly, while the private room was a plus, I felt the overall value for the price paid was lacking, and I would recommend looking for better options if you're considering this hostel.
- Younes (8/5): Very good -
- Hilpert2921 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilpert2921 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yul (8/5): Very good -
- Florentm (3/5): Poor - Not the Best Experience Unfortunately, my stay at this hostel was not very pleasant. The cleanliness could really be improved, especially in the bathroom and toilet areas, which were in poor condition during my visit. It was also quite noisy, making it difficult to rest properly.
- Mojtaba (1/5): Don't go - Nothing
- Elyas (10/5): Exceptional - Was nice place to stay in old Istanbul
- Ahmad (9/5): Value for money. - I was really satisfied for the price I paid. For a solo traveler, it fits all the boxes and comparing it to bunk-bed hostels, I appreciated the privacy and extra security for my luggage. The toilets are shared but that wasn't an issue for me. There's hot water too so that's great. The main host was really friendly too and always had a smile on his face. Checking out at 4 am wasn't an issue too. Everything went smooth. Would book again. One thing I didn't like was that a small space above the door was open (No windows) but the staff say that the building is old and they can't renovate it. Anyways, you have to be super quite in your room, and can't have phone calls but all the other travelers are also respectful of the rules so you can rest nice too without being bothered.
- Quesada (5/5): Small room, but at least you will have total privacy. - The bathrooms could be more cleaned, and the rooms as well.
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good - The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Eminönü, very close to transportation and major tourist sites. The hostel offers great value for money and keeps your privacy .
The staff are friendly, and I’d especially like to appreciate Abdullah, the receptionist, for his help and kindness. He was very helpful and welcoming throughout my stay
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Iyad (8/5): If this is your hotel buget totaly recommended - This is the best thing you can get for this price , a bed in smal warm room , clean WCs , nice staf , abdullah who speaks multiple languages . Very nice location , 2 metro station a way from taksim , 1 from laleli , 2 from aksaray .
- Loloa (10/5): Exceptional - You can accept everything when you come to this place and see a good person like Abdullah who helps everyone and makes you love this place. I was afraid at first, but when I got to know Abdullah, everything became wonderful for me. There is a garden at the top, and this is a beautiful thing.
- Nada (10/5): Exceptional - I came to try this place for one night. But the reception of the employee was good and his help with the payment method and his explanation of the city and etc. was very wonderful. There are some comments but in the end there is no perfect hotel on earth. There are strict rules not to disturb and talk during the night. There is a garden where you can talk comfortably. Also, some guests are not regular in the rules of using the toilet, so it is difficult to control the cleanliness of the bathrooms in the event that the people who use it are not organized. I came for one night but my stay lasted 8 days.
- Bandar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mail (1/5): Bad - Fat man who works there was extremely rude. I think he lives there and does the cleaning. It's backpacker's hostel, has potential to be good but it's not taken care of and very dirty. The shower and bathroom is in the same space. It stinks and smells moldy. The room is not clean, under the bed is very dirty. The floor outside the room has stains, nobody cleans it. The rooms are above a Turkish bath business. That floor is maintained better.
- Roman (3/5): Absolutely cannot recommend this hostel - Location is not bad, near metro station.
But everywhere near this hostel is loud market Everything was dirty: bed sheets, floor in this small room, walls, bathroom also.
I’d say, in this hostel were the dirtiest bathrooms i ever met in hostels around Europe.
Bed sheets were not clear, i found hair from previous guest.
These ultra-small rooms are not fully private. There is no wall over the door, therefore you hear another guests in this hostel, and they hear you as well
- Lazizjon (4/5): Disappointing -
- Abdelghani (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was good. The staff was polite and We even shared "IFTAR" together during Ramadan
- Sejaf (6/5): Pleasant -
- Serkan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sharif (7/5): Mr. Sharif Hossain from Doha Qatar 🇶🇦. - Reception Mohamed is a very nice person. Very helpful person. All good.
- Mehdi (8/5): Very good -
- Sigit (10/5): Exceptional - It's near to everywhere, and room is so warm and cozy
- Georg (4/5): Disappointing -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Foyez (3/5): Poor -
- Frantisek (7/5): I like the feel be around the locals not to turisty spot - Was really good price Well I know if they will spend money on this property then the price will rise
- Maryam (7/5): Good -
- Babu (10/5): Exceptional - I like mohammad,he is in charge there.he is a nice guy.it was perfect value of money❤️
- Luke (8/5): Great hostel style accommodation with private cubicle rooms. Great value for money. - Very good value accommodation, with small private rooms. Friendly manager who also stays there. He was very accommodating & flexible with check in times. Suitable for backpackers & solo travellers.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - More private than a hostel at same price. Arrived early just hoping to leave my bag but offered my room early. Kitchen. Loads of local restaurants. It's not Buckingham Palace but it gets the job done.
- Shawaal (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed in here only for few days, but it was one of my best hostel experiences. This place is very cozy, And affordable warm and welcoming and all the guests and stuff are really friendly The owner is also very Nice and Specially Abdullah Very friendly &Nice person so I would say it’s a great location. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and definitely would recommend it for everyone.
- Esther (5/5): Passable - That the room was private Bathrooms need to be cleaned more often
- Staffan (8/5): Very good - Fantastic old building. Rooms are tiny, but have everything you need.
- Jugejit (8/5): Very good -
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - I would love to stay there again very lovely people.
- Hazrat (5/5): Passable -
- Usman (5/5): Passable - Every thing was fine as it is located in downtown to access major tourist attractions of Istanbul But room size was exceptionally small and and toilets were good clean but do not have mirrors and that's a big problem other wise this property is fairly good for Solo traveller
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location. Great value for money. Small but very comfortable room. Nice outdoor area, complete with cats. There were no problems when I had to leave at 4 am. Someone was there to unlock the front door and let me out.
- Ken (10/5): Great budget single rooms
In super location - Great budget single room in a working Turkish bath where you can still get a proper wash down in a good location near halic metro station Nothing really
- Ruth (9/5): Superb - Great location close to trams, metro and the bridges accross to Karakoy side, short walk up to the big mosque and to the spice market. Lots of food and shops around. Friendly and welcoming presence of Abdullah. Bed was very comfortable, was warm and cosy in the hostel, and despite the rooms not being fully closed off, it was quiet at night with respectful guests and i slept very well. The bathrooms could do with a deep clean however weren't too bad (apart from mess from other guests eg urine drops on the seat on many occasions - maybe assigned female and male toilets would be a good idea so us ladies don't have to deal with disrespectful men who can't aim properly or clean up after themselves), the water pressure and hot water however was amazing. Hair dryers available and a small kitchen with kettle. Good price and I enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Thanks 😊 Bathrooms could be cleaner but not too bad
- Marc (8/5): Nice friendly helpfully staff - very good price small room but the price was the cheapest I could find
- Monika (6/5): Pleasant - Couldn't ask for more at this price. Private room and good location Pillow case and bedding were clean, however the duvet cover wasn't changed it was dirty and stinky
