Guest Reviews
- Aleem (10/5): - I had a great stay at La Porte de la Taksim in Istanbul. The location is fantastic — just a 3-minute walk to Taksim Square, which is full of restaurants, cafés, and shops. It’s also very close to the metro and bus stops, making it super easy to get around the city.
The hotel is clean, modern, and cozy. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they’re comfortable and well-equipped. Room service is scheduled once every three days, but the staff are happy to accommodate earlier requests if needed.
A special shout-out to Selman, Mehdi, Zekeriya, and Emre at the reception — they were all incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout the stay.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for a central, convenient, and friendly place to stay in Istanbul.
- Elyse (8/5): A good value for a taste of Istanbul. - The location is perfect for a 24-hour or 48 hour layover stay in Istanbul, especially as it is almost around the corner from the Hava-ist bus. The managers are very nice, and they've done a good job of giving the hotel a boutique-y look. It is walking distance to many reasonably priced restaurants. For the price, the bathroom is nicely appointed. My only complaints are that the bedsheets could be a touch softer, and the owners may want to post a list of recommended restaurants in the neighborhood that won't gouge tourists. Some of them are clearly tourist traps with very aggressive people trying to lure tourists in. As locals are dining there, I assume that those restaurants by the hotels have different prices for locals and tourists.
- syed (10/5): - The receptionist his name was Mehdi. He was exceptional, courteous, professional, and went out of the way to help us out. He’s the reason the hotel is five star
- Stephen (6/5): - Is closed by tourist area including the "red tram" The receptionists are helpful the room like the streets are narrow. Decent location for metro and bus
- Erkin (10/5): - Very nice place. Iranian guy was really helpful and very welcoming
- Marc (10/5): - My son and I had a great visit to Turkey and really enjoyed staying at the La Porte de Taksim. Our room was perfect. Our room opened to a small hallway. There were two seperate rooms, each with its own locked door, each with its own queen bed, bathroom & shower. It was perfect for us. There was always a person at the front desk no matter what time of the day. It is in walking distance to Taksim square, the train station, the bus station and taxis. The staff was very friendly.
- Selin (10/5): - Otel konum olarak taksim meydanına yakın güzel yerde.Gayet sıcak ve ilgili bir karşılama vardı.Oda fotoğraftakiyle aynı oldukça temiz ve genişti.Sessizdi rahatsız olmadık.Kesinlikle tavsiye ederim .
Tesekkurler - Calisanlari guler yuzlu ve ilgili.ozellikler Emrabey yardimsever ve sicakkanli. Guzel konumubakimindan hatika bir sehir oteli.Tesekkurler
- Sharmeen (8/5): - The staff were very kind and helpful. The place was nice and clean but the room was cramped. We didn’t have space to eat in the rooms. If you’re okay with tight spaces, then you’ll be fine. It was a convenient location- walking distance from Taksim Square so that was helpful.
- Neil John (10/5): - The staff are so helpful and professional. The rooms are clean. Taksim square is just around the corner, 100 metres where the metro is connecting to the rest of the city.
- Ziad (10/5): - Its one of the best hotels to stay in with your family with a very reasonable price , I recommend it strongly !
- Jasmin Vanessa (8/5): - The service in the hotel was really great. Everytime you came in the staff stud up and greeted you really friendly. The AC was great but sometimes the power was out for a few seconds. The Wlan for the floor did not really reach the end of the room but it was okay. The hotel has a really great rooftop where you can enjoy your street-purchased food with a great view over the city, especially on sunset.
All in all a really solid and nice hotel.
- Laura (10/5): - The hotel staff were wonderful! I was traveling with my adult son so we prefer separate rooms. This hotel had the perfect layout for us with affordable separate rooms (and bathrooms) connected by a short hallway. The beds were fantastic. I got sick and spent far more time sleeping and resting in bed than usual on vacation in such a fabulous city!!
- Danesh (10/5): - The staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating.
- Bouziane (10/5): - In fact, the reception is good, the workers are nice, and the room is clean and tidy, which means I recommend it
- Nataliia (10/5): - We stay at really nice room with 2 bad-rooms. Our family like it
- Ruslan (10/5): - A hidden gem! Clean, great location, friendly staff. I enjoyed my 2 week stay there. The room was a perfect size and had everything I needed.
- Selahattin (10/5): - Konumu harika.Temiz ve nezih.. Ailem ile kaldiķ.Tavsiye ederiz
- Yuanfeng (10/5): - great location and very hospitalized host!
- Mohsen (8/5): - Everything was very good
Kind and helpful staff
Emre and Mehdi 🙏
- Pouria (8/5): Superb staff! - Extremely friendly staff! We were extremely well taken care of, especially by Mahdi, that worked during nighttime. The other staff were also very accommodating and ensuring that our stay was good!
Rooms are okay, quite small. Good if they are only to be used for sleeping but not for a family to also have space to socialize indoors. Unfortunately there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom, that came from the drains. The sheets were clean but I could see that the blanket, mattress and pillow under the shears Gad many stains, as did the chairs in the room. A few other things such as the cleanliness of the shower cabinet edges and corners could also improve. Cleaning is provided every 3 days but clean towels and other stuff are provided whenever needed.
Overall however the stay was pleasant. I would stay again if it was for a shorter visit and I wasn’t needing a space to socialize with family/friends. Location is top notch.
- Yasmin (4/5): - I would not go to this hotel again.
- Shamim (6/5): - Most hotel staffs very pleasant and always helpful. Location was not bad at all.
Hotel ist old und needs renovation specially the bathroom. Rooms too small for family with kids.
- Stevan (10/5): - Great and affordable place to stay at, staff were amazing, very helpful for hotel questions and helped us alot with outside of hotel booking information! Great location, about a minute walking from Taksim square. Only issue with it, is that the surrounding neighborhood is a bit worrying, unsafe for women who are alone, however this issue has nothing to do with the hotel as they are phenomenal!
- Mohamed Fareez (10/5): - The hotel is a warm and welcoming place, run by Emre, Salman and Mehdi. They are helpful in ensuring in all your staying needs are met. They even helped me reserved a canoeing session since I did not have a Turkish number.
The hotel is situated near the Taksim transport node so the buses and metro are just a short walking distance away.
It is also near Istikal shopping district but far enough that you can have a good night's sleep without the music from clubs or noises from people outside.
A great place to rest and recharge before tomorrow's adventure.
- Raul (8/5): - Area not too good but convenient
- david (2/5): - We hace to change to another hotel, the bathroom smells a lot, the flor was sticky and dirty, they offer us to fix the problema, but we decide to get out, we stay one NIGHT because was to late, we hope to get our refund of that NIGHT, if nota, Expedia Will disappoint me.
- Syed (10/5): - Our stay was quite comfortable, pretty much this hotel matches all my expectations. Hotel staff ( Mehmar, hopefully i am spelling it correctly) and other young gentleman were extremely nice and were willing to guide and help whenever it was needed. They also ordered taxis for us, which i strongly recommend to do, dont take taxi on your own because you will definitely get ripped off. Hotel is on a narrow street but there are so many options to eat or grab snacks at any time of the day. Beds are very comfortable, rooms are not huge but big enough, you can request room service, its not by default. Taksim Square, tram and metro station is literally 3 minutes walk. I will stay again on my next trip
- Zoufinar (10/5): - Excellent location and excellent staff!
- Sara (10/5): - Amaizing the best staff very clean rooms.
- Sara (10/5): - The staff amazing
- Syeda (8/5): - Both Mahdi and Salman who were the staff during our stay were really nice and helpful with any request we had. Mahdi was great to talk to and always had a big smile and great recommendations for our trip only wish we had asked him earlier. The hotel was clean and cute. Water is available for 10 TL. The only negative was that internet is really bad and did not work most of the time that we were there.Better to get an e Sim and use that. The hotel is located in the middle eastern area with lots of Arabic food and a nice hookah lounge. Taksim square is a five min walk to the metro and streetcar. Rooms are small but it’s ok as we spent most time outside.
- Melissa (8/5): - Hotel is a boutique style hotel and the staff was always willing to assist. Black out drapes are the best I've seen. Only 2 negatives: street noise is loud from people, not cars, and even though this is a smoke free hotel, smoke from people on the street somehow managed to make it through the closed windows and doors to our room. Stay in a room in the back if these things bother you.
- Ahsan (10/5): - Very clean room. Very convenient location to Taksim square. Hotel staff was very welcoming and helped me with the map to go to places I wanted to visit. Would stay again on my next trip to Istanbul.
- Samrin (10/5): - My friend and I were staying in Istanbul for the first time and decided to stay at La Porte de Taksim and had a wonderful experience! All the staff at the reception were super attentive and helpful when answering any questions we had about the area and about transportation options. We were even greeted with Turkish coffee upon our arrival! The area itself was also fantastic as there is a lot night life and is convenient in terms of traveling to other sites. As two girls on our own for this trip, we felt very safe as well. Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel!
- Adrian (10/5): Nice comfortable stay - Clean room and bathroom with comfortable bed. The hotel is located in the heart of Taksim on a quiet street only five minutes walk to the bus stop to International Airport.
Salman at the reception is always ready and happy to assist. Thank you for the friendly welcome. I felt like home.
- HAMID (10/5): - Hotel is very well located and is accessible to train and buses. 2 minutes walking to Taksim and famous Estiklal street. Room was so clean with queen bed, fresh towels and other travel needs. Staff were very polite and helpfull specially Mehdi who greet us upon arrival and helped us on everthing we needed for our stay and touring the city. The only problem noticed was that water temrature were changing during shower when pressure pump stared. I think the reason is that Taksim area is located on high level in city and probably presuure pump is needed to increase water pressure. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we could reach hotel easily anytime for mid-day rest and we will definitely would come back to this place in our future plans.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not sure why this place was rated 9/10… other than location, this place is subpar. Should be rated 6/10.
- HUNG (8/5): - Close to shopping
- Cindy (8/5): - The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good value for the price. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The area was surprisingly quiet. We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel.
- Iuliia (8/5): - Nice and cozy place, close to the taxim place. Friendly staff, they helped me with my heavy luggage on the first day, gave me an umbrella when was raining the whole day long, and also offered a cup of tea, when I checked out. I appreciate it😊
- Antonio (8/5): Great Option for First-Time Visitor - Stayed six nights in this hotel. For a first time visitor in Istanbul, this hotel's location is ideal. Very close to airport bus depot, train stations, shopping, and restaurants. Rooms are clean. Beds and pillows are comfortable. My two minor complaints are the shower (inconsistent hot water) and the Wifi connection (unreliable at night). Will definitely stay in this hotel on my next Istanbul visit.
- Liron (10/5): Amazing Hotel - The room was same like in picture was coinvent clean always hot water in the shower they clean and change new towels every day.
The guys from the reception always there 24h available for any call.
They was nice help to us with our luggage, after Check-Out we put our luggage in safe for most of the day and when we came back we got a hot coffee.
When I book the hotel I was suspicious because there is no many reviews but I found that because the hotel is new established on 2022.
The hotel close to Taksim and Istaklal street by walk.
+++++
- Faisal (8/5): Clean but Cramped room - We took a family room - they give us 2 identical connecting rooms - the rooms were too small - actually it would have been better if they had smaller bed to have some extra walking space. There was no view in the room. The location is good though around 5-7 mins walk to taksim square/metro lots of grocery shops and eating places around - in general the facilities are basic but good (internet, water heater, room heater etc. were good)
- Christine (8/5): - The location of this property is its best feature. It is on a street with other hotels of the same small boutique type. I found it helpful that there was a laundry service at very reasonable rates and 1 day service a few doors down.
In the evening internet service became sporadic going on and off several times which is consistent problem across all properties I have stayed at in this country.
I did not partake of the breakfast offering so I cannot share anything about it.
The ability to walk very close to many locations was the high point of the location. Room was clean and adequate.
- SUBRAHMANYA (10/5): Exceptional stay - It was exceptional…. Very appointed rooms and Service from staff… location is great to Taksim square and great restaurants around…definitely recommend this hotel
- Belal (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. The Carpets in the rooms need to be changed
- Saad (8/5): - Nice place for short stays
- Shukhrat (10/5): - Booked room for 4 people. Got a family suite with 2 rooms with one king and one queen beds and 2 separate bathrooms.
Finally, air conditioner that doesn't blow on the bed!
Hotel managers helped to book private minivans for airport transfers at acceptable rates and were very helpful.
Rooms are small but quiet, one of the showers very a bit leaky but it doesn't matter. We stayed there for quietness, great sleep and location.
Street is narrow, so I don't think you can find parking there.
Manager and everyone in the hotel were very helpful and nice!
Breakfast start late but there are many options that start from 50 meters away, but I would walk to Taksim 300 meters and have way better choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner.
I have also noticed that there are only 10 reviews on Expedia but then when checked on Booking, saw way more reviews, Q&A explaining that it's a new hotel and many questions that travelers ask before booking this hotel.
Loved my stay here and will be back in this hotel!
- EDMUNDO (10/5): Location and rooms - Great location and room, not noisy in the night, a plus in Taksim, close to all transportation, including the shuttle to the airport @ 500 meters, excellent restaurants within 50 meters, great for couples
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The front staff were lovely and accommodating but the hotel was in very poor shape. Our double king bed room had stains everywhere, dirty walls, dirty carpets. It was very cramped, dark, and drab. I would not recommend staying here at all until the place undergoes renovation.
- Souha (8/5): Great Stay for 4 nights - It was very nice experience for me and comfortable stay at La Porte de Taksim, knowing you only go to the hotel for bathing & sleeping. It has very nice location in a street full of hotels. The room was clean & spacious.
It is very close to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street.
And the entire Hotel Staff are very friendly & helpful, always available to help you out whenever you need, specially Ömer :)
- TAREK (10/5): Friendly staff - Very friendly staff close to everywhere
