- danielcU6162KU (2/5): Never again - worst Marriott Bonvoy property - If you’re looking for a fairly-priced Marriott property that has good service, KEEP LOOKING. The price, along with the “resort fee” or whatever they call it is ridiculous and does not match the tiny room size and the underwhelming HVAC system. The air conditioner does not go below 74 degrees in the hotter months although it reads 65 - and when you request an engineer, someone shows up and barks “What?” In a clearly exasperated tone. If you want to go order a coffee, the chef will tell you to go to the server, the server will tell you to go to the bar keeper and the bar keeper will ask why you couldn’t ask the server. Let’s just say I did not get coffee - and did not use the $20 “coupon” they gave me because it was practically worthless. This is, by far, the worst Marriott I have stayed at, let alone the worst Le Meredien. Avoid like the plague.

Not huge. I was greeted by friendly staff, the check-in was quick. I received a couple of coupons that I used at the Italian restaurant associated with the hotel, although I received the food through room service. It’s nice and rare that a hotel even has room service, but they did. The bathroom was modern, clean and did I say immaculate? It was. The location may not be the greatest as it is not on Times Square, but the price was reasonable and it probably is a short taxi drive or walk to tourist attractions. Also the area is pretty quiet. I do not give rave reviews to all hotels but this one deserved it.

I stayed for 10 days, and although the room might be a little small (hey, its NYC what do you expect??) the walk in show, large tub and bathroom was outstanding. The bed was super comfy, with a view of 5th avenue. Food was 5 stars, yes, I was surprised as well. Breakfast & the Italian restaurant for dinner was superb... order the veal parmigiana. One complaint, the restaurant/lobby bar closes at 11pm, and yes they ask you to leave even if you aren't finished with your drink. That needs to be addressed.

- 409erikag (10/5): A Fifth Avenue Stay Made Memorable by Exceptional Service - We’re frequent guests at Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue, and this stay reinforced why we keep coming back. The hotel is consistently comfortable, well run, with comfortable beds and nice finishes. But the real standouts are the doormen, Barry and Oswald. Every time we returned to the hotel, they greeted us with warmth and familiarity that made us feel like welcomed regulars rather than transient guests. They’re a big reason this hotel remains a favorite. Also kudos to the hotel restaurant Allora which is much improved. Breakfast there was delicious with excellent service.

Tutto il personale è molto cordiale ma in particolare voglio sottolineare la estrema professionalità e cordialità del guest manager Guven e del suo Collega Wei nel supportarci e trovare immediate ed effettive soluzioni a piccoli inconvenienti, mostrando una cura ed una attenzione fuori dal comune che non ho mai riscontrato in nessun hotel neppure in un 5 stelle! Hanno reso il nostro soggiorno piacevole e rilassante paragonabile ad un rientro a casa propria ( come usava dirci il portiere di notte quando rientravamo in hotel). Grazie Mr Guven e Mr Wei per la vostra squisita professionalità, e grazie a tutto il personale dell’hotel!!!

We came out to New York to take in festivities and start the new year off right and wow did this hotel do their part. We were welcomed by Oswaldo and Rich who both I can say made the stay. The restaurant is connected and you can use destination fee there which was convenient but also near by so much being right on 5th avenue.

- JMYTOWN (10/5): Great location, outstanding staff - Nothing beats NYC at Christmas, and Le Meridien made us feel like we were in a Christmas movie! The location was central to everything, the restaurant was top notch and the accommodations were great, but the staff put it over the top. We felt like VIPs from the moment we arrived to the moment we picked up out bags they held at the desk so we could do some last minute shopping before heading home late in the day. It is not hard to book a nice hotel room, but it is truly rare to find a hotel in NY that treats you so well.

I have two teen boys and had to shower with a glass door covered in towels. Eventually I asked for a shower curtain. 2. The rooms have no overhead lighting and it’s dark.

- Y15CAjohng (10/5): Barry the Door Man - We recently stayed at Le Méridien Fifth Avenue and had a great experience. The room was on the smaller side, but it was beautiful, modern, and exactly what we needed. The location couldn’t have been better for our event at The Cutting Room during the Underwater Sunshine Festival an easy walk and close to everything. But the real highlight of our stay was Barry, the doorman. He absolutely made our trip. Every time we walked through the front door, he greeted us with genuine kindness, great conversation, and incredible food recommendations. He took the time to ask about our day and made us feel like we were coming home, not just back to a hotel. Barry is truly the best part of the property and a huge asset to the Le Méridien brand. We’ll stay here again when we’re in the area mostly because of him.

- Dayter (8/5): Central Convenience and Comfort in Midtown Manhattan - Le Méridien Fifth Avenue is a good hotel in an excellent location — just steps from the Empire State Building and within easy walking distance to both Times Square and Central Park. The rooms aren’t large, but they’re modern, clean, and comfortable, making them a solid option for a short stay. There are no suites on the property and no Marriott Bonvoy lounge, so elite travelers should keep expectations in check. Breakfast was very good with attentive service in the morning. However, the evening bar scene was a bit uncomfortable — the staff seemed to argue among themselves, with one bartender clearly being picked on by another, which created an awkward atmosphere. Overall, it’s a great location and comfortable stay, but the service culture at night could use some refinement to match the otherwise polished experience
- iamRyanL (8/5): Good Experience - I did not know what to expect because this was my first time staying at a Le Meridien. I was blown away. Let me say I am a solo traveler so the room being small did not bother me. I booked the Excelsior King room and it was great. She even gave me a room facing 5th Ave. Also, for those that are wondering the room I had, had a door for the bathroom. It was one of those sliding doors that NYC are known for. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the bed for super firm. Other than that I would stay here again.

- Patricia (8/5): Service with a smile - This was a return stay so clearly means I like the place. The one thing that sadly lets down the team is housekeeping. I returned to my room on two back to back days to find my room just as I had left it hour ago in the morning. This is not good. Kudos to the front desk staff for sorting things out for me as quickly as possible and to Barry (excellent doorman) for making me comfortable while I waited for room to be serviced. I must also commend the front desk for sorting out an early check-in for me on extremely short notice and moving me to a better room when I complained about the size and location of the room assigned. This kind of service is what makes people like myself become loyal customers. If only the housekeeping team were equally good. They are the reason why I knocked off a star from my rating.

Die Lage ist mehr als super, der Bus fährt direkt vor der Haustür und alle weiteren Verbindungen sind innerhalb von max. 5 Minuten zu erreichen. In der Beschreibung stand, dass es ein Zimmer mit 30m2 wäre aber das Zimmer war doch recht klein für 3 Personen inkl. Koffern.

- IRVING (10/5): US Open weekend stay at the Le Meridien - The experience was excellent from the check in and check out. The staff are very attentive and helpful , Their customer service is way better than any 5 star Hotel we stayed . We will come back again to this Hotel. Thanks to Christina, Oswaldo from the front desk and the housekeeping crew. This is such a memorable stay in New York.

Nuts and bolts hotel. Seemed more like business crowd Front desk staff and doorman were very friendly and helpful. Especially the doorman Convient. Very easy to get to a lot of places via the subway and you're walking distance from union Square and flat iron and you can walk up to the theater district pretty easily Restaurant is ok. Service wasn't great. They may have been understaffed. But they weren't that attentive and seemed overwhelmed by a Relatively small group of people in the restaurant eating breakfast This is more my personal preference than a criticism, but they were playing 80s pop music loudly all morning in restaurant, which seemed a little bit much for breakfast really catered more to the business crowd

Breakfast was a busy experience as the waiting staff were struggling to attend to everybody in quick enough time. - jj777 (2/5): Not worth the money - Second time booking the Le Meridien on 5th for my business trips mainly bc it’s the closest Marriott to my office and each time it’s been a major flop. Rooms are crap and for the price you pay, you’d expect more even if it’s NYC. Bathroom floors are also horrible due to water damage but they’re clearly too cheap to replace. Service is also disgusting. From the front desk to the bartender in the restaurant bar next to the lobby. Had late check out for 4pm yet my keys failed to work and locked me out when I got up to my room to retrieve my bags for check-out bc it was “too close to the 4pm check-out”. Yet my friend who was staying one floor below me got to her room at the same time and got in without a hitch. When I inquired at the front desk about why it locked me out (as I’ve NEVER had this issue with any other Marriott property) the front desk girl told me it was bc I was too close to the check-out time and was completely rude about it. Didn’t catch her name but she seemed to be of Indian descent. So if you’re staying here, maybe avoid her. I’ve been a titanium bonvoy member for a while now but am realizing it doesn’t mean sh*t with Marriott. They do not seem to care about their loyalty members and perks seem to be downgraded year after year. Thinking it might be time for me to give my business elsewhere. The only highlight of this stay was the doorman. He was always welcoming and kind and always had the brightest smile. Marriott should take note: it doesn’t take a lot to be kind to people and act like you give a sh*t. Do better, Marriott.

- Kathleen (9/5): Great stay and I highly recommend it! - The property is in a great location! It was very clean and the staff went above and beyond. It is close enough to midtown that you can easily taxi or (long) walk to get to broadway shows. Nomad is booming with great bats and restaurants so that made the visit wonderful! I wish they had a rooftop bar or sitting area where people can enjoy a view and fresh air. There are several rooftop bars in the neighborhood but it’s nice when a hotel has that too. Even if it was just a patio sitting area for hotel guests only.

One particular staff member was very responsive and helped solved the room issues earnestly.

- Flyer31755035488 (4/5): Underwhelmed and frustrated - Do not stay here! The rooms are terribly small, the shower has no door on it (hence no privacy if you’re staying with family) and I left something valuable in the room by accident and it wasn’t found or returned — and the managers only responded after I called 5+ times. It was ridiculous that there wasn’t any accountability or better communication. Oh and the restaurant wasn’t good either. While the front desk staff and doormen were super nice and accommodating, it wasn’t enough and there are too many other places in the city to choose from for $500+/night that are way better than Le Meridian on 5th Ave. Choose wisely. I won’t be back.

Rooms were only ready at 5:30 pm and only because we agreed not to insist on the booked high-floor rooms. We also requested same floor rooms upfront, which was never responded to and also not met. - Asfaw (9/5): Left with good feelings and memories. - The location, the service and variety of breakfast at the restaurant, cleanliness of the toilet at the lobby area was excellent during my stay. I was not happy that I was not able to stream NETFLEX in my room TV. However, the immediate action taken by the front office staff as a compensation to my disappointment was exemplary and satisfying. The politeness and readiness to serve with welcoming greetings “ welcome home” by one of the elder guys at the entrance, a Guinean man called Oslo ( I am not sure if I spelt it correct) was extraordinary and consistent. Honestly, there is nothing that I did not like about the property. But suggest that the interior of the elevators could be made much better with different paintings and ads of the hotel. It is not line Marriott run property elevators.

It’s close to everything from 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue shops to Madison Park and in close proximity to tons of great bars and restaurants. The staff was super nice and friendly. The room was small but functional and very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again when I come out to New York.
