Shane (4/5): - The property was filthy, Shower was disgusting. The bed sheets were stained with urine and hair. We requested replacements and they were just as bad. The staff managed to take one of my cards by mistake and the hotel were denied it until it was returned but cut into pieces. Aircon was rubbish.
Roni (8/5): - The hotel infrastructure is good, although some renovation could be done at least in the room I stayed. And the shuttle had its air-conditionair broken (Please FIX IT, since temperature was around 35ºC!!!). Breakfast was enough (the hotel itself is not big, so I understand they do not offer a huge variety, but still good. From the hotel almost all hot spots are reached by walking a few minutes (Mosques, Markets, Bazaars, etc), and the surroundings offers lots of varieties of food. The staff was awesome. Me and family got sick, but they tried to do whatever was needed so we became comfortable - Thanks guys!!! All in all, I don't regret and would definitely come back.

AKAAS (4/5): - The first few days the air conditioning was not working so I told them had to go to one of the other shops to buy a fan due to heat and one problem when there is a power outage they have no back generator

Sayeeda (6/5): - WORST SPA! I stayed in June 2024. The hotel is fine however, It had a leak in the bathroom which meant that the floor was always wet. Fridge was not working. I also noticed that housekeeping did not change bedding in 5 days and simply tidied and restocked the room. Minimal cleaning took place. The staff were very friendly and nice. They were always available and generally helpful. I do recommend the hotel transfer if you’re looking for convenience. I believe it is around €40 each way. The spa was extremely disappointing. I did the hammam, sauna, steam and massage (€60). The Hammam consisted of my skin being scrubbed raw with water and the tradition glove, no soap. Sauna and steam were fine. The massage was not even a massage, it was just oil being rubbed on and for some reason, popping all of my knuckled, EVEN MY TOES. The masseuse used her elbows on my back bones. BONES!! And when I thought it could not get any worse, there was a head massage. This consisted of a crap load of oil in my freshly washed hair and her nails harshly scratching my scalp. To the point that I had to tell her to stop. So much happened that I cant remember now but it was bad. The staff were nice but very unskilled with no real training. If you want your whole day ruined and money to be wasted, i highly recommend this spa. If you want a real hammam and a good massage, there are so many available in the local area. Ayasofya Hürrem Sultan Hamamı is only a few minutes walk away from the hotel.

Denis (8/5): - I liked the location, even though it can be noisy at 4 or 5 am. I also liked transfer to the airport (not free but adequate). Breakfast was decent, though juices had a weird taste. I ended up drinking for breakfast a glass of plain water (excellent water actually) and then a cup of tea. Wifi was not adequate. Besides password, it required a registration which did not work in a predictable way and on one my device, it did not work at all. The worst thing was a broken refrigerator.

B7628ADlisah (10/5): Best location - very clean hotel - I wanted to put a review on here as it is true what booking.com says the hotel is exceptional. Very clean always. Big rooms with a walk in storage cupboard- this was in the most basic room. The hotel couldn’t be in a better location for seeing Istanbul. 3 mins to the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, grand bazaar and the T1 tram that takes you straight over to Taxim square and the Galeta tower. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

The staff are super kind and friendly and help us with any questions. Hotel very clean with delicious breakfast. We also had sauna and stem room at the hotel spa which were great.
Richard (10/5): Fine location, great staff - Service was kind and considerate, and the room was spotless and comfortable. They even upgraded me free to accommodate a handicap. Included breakfast was hearty and excellent with lots of great proteins, fruits, breads, and cooked and raw veggies. Only weaknesses were repairs. Elevator was dead on the 1st and 5th floors, and the sprays in the shower were broken. Hamam that seems to be included in the advertisement is an extra fee.

Hotel very clean with good breakfast on the terrace with partial view on Haiga Sofia and on Topkapi. The rooms are ok for 3. We were 4 and the 4th bed was obtained by a very small chair. All the room was equipped for 3 and not 4 also during our stay. Overall a good choice. Position is simply unbeatable!

Molto carino e corrispondente alle foto anche se serve manutenzione che il responsabile dell'hotel ha detto che farà al più presto. Unico appunto attenzione perchè questo alloggio ha l'accesso direttamente dalla hall dell'Hotel ed è sconsigliato per chi ha sonno leggero.

DavidN989 (4/5): Disappointing - The location is great. Literally a 3 minute walk to the Tram stop and 10 minutes walk to Hagia Sofia. Breakfast was ok. Friendly staff. The power in the hotel failed several times during my 3 nights stay. Luckily I / no one was caught in the lift at the time. But it meant I couldn't charge my phone / make coffee / watch TV etc. The view from my window was poor (see pic) Wi-fi was weak and sometimes failed. The 'smart TV' wasn't smart - there was no access to YouTube or the internet. There was a terrible smell that persisted in my room - I couldn't quite work out where it was coming from but it was really unpleasant. Flies! Whenever I managed to get rid of 1 another 2 appeared! I found out they were coming from a hole in the bathroom (see pic)

andrewkX1033WU (4/5): Good location - I stayed at this hotel in January of this year. Here is my honest experience. Getting to this hotel by taxi is a complete disaster. This property is located on a very dirty street and smells of cigarettes most of the day. The main door does not work so you have to use the side door. The lobby is always humid with a foul smelling stench. I also got pressured by front desk employees to pay with US dollars/euros which I did not have. The room was VERY small and smelled like someone just got done having sex in there. While waiting for my partner, I speak Turkish by the way. I overheard the manager, I believe hes name was Sulyman, tell another worker that he has been cheating on hes wife with a woman from eastern Europe. He ended up getting her pregnant... This place is an absolute nightmare. Please future guests, make sure to read the reviews on Tripadvisor instead on google or booking.com!
Tina (10/5): Wonderful stay! - All the employees were friendly and attentive. Zülküf was like a magician; he popped up wherever we went in the hotel to offer us a coffee or çay, provide directions, or just to wish us a good day. He made our stay memorable. Our rooms were cleaned daily. Our 2 rooms had single beds which we found a little too small for our preference. The bathroom had all necessary amenities, including travel toothbrushes. Nice breakfast room with outside patio on top floor. Super easy to access all the typical tourist sites on foot or by tram.

917janey (4/5): Okay-ish hotel not worth the prize nor the ratings on Booking or Google - We checked and double-checked the reviews on both Booking and Google before going with this hotel. All the reviews on the two sites are fantastic so imagine our surprise when we arrived. The hotel smelled smoky on arrival and, in fact, we did smell cigarette smoke multiple times during our stay. The bathroom was not cleaned well and it wasn't just "old" because after a few showers it was cleaner. The facilities were not tip-top either as the shower flooded the bathroom (which in the end helped clean the bathroom more). The toilet seat wouldn't stay upright as many other reviews here have mentioned. And there were various corners in the bathroom that were simply dirty, moldy, rusty, or not kept well. The room itself is perfectly fine, very small but that was to be expected. However, half of the bed was completely broken so with barely any support under the mattress. We said we'd pay before leaving but the next day another person at the front desk kept pressuring us to pay even if we repeatedly told him his colleague said we could pay afterwards. At the end of the stay, we were forced to give a glowing review in front of the front desk on Booking, which explains the high rating. It is completely too much for what it is charging and I hope someone would read reviews here on TripAdvisor before making the same mistake we did.

The hospitality we received from all the staff was beyond expectation specially manager Sulyman. We were there in istanbul to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and they even looked after us on our special day by providing us a beautiful and delicious cake as a gift. The property is well maintained and very clean. Will definitely stay there again.

L'emplacement était idéal à proximité de restos cafés commerces et des transports tout en étant dans une petite rue au calme. A quelques pas de Ste Sophie et de la Mosquée Bleue. Les chambres sont très propres et spacieuses avec une literie très confortable. Enfin comme indiqué dans les autres commentaires la gentillesse du personnel est exceptionnelle. Les clients de l'hôtel sont chouchoutés.Toute l'équipe Azra Sultan est d'une grande courtoisie. Nous avons sincèrement été touché par tant de respect et de gentillesse. J'ai pourtant beaucoup voyagé mais ce séjour restera unique. Si vous ajoutez à cela la magie de la sublime Istanbul vous ne pouvez qu'être conquis ! Nous n'étions pas encore partie que nous prévoyons déjà d'y retourner ❤️
Ali (10/5): - Great hotel that is very clean and has friendly staff. One of the best things about it is everything is in walking distance from it. Hotel staff helped us with luggage and welcomed us every time we enter the hotel. They have an elevator which is a plus since a lot of other hotels don’t. Breakfast is served at the highest floor with great view of blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. Very pleased with our stay and definitely would highly recommend.

Barry (2/5): Terrible service - The hotel's location is excellent, close to the major attractions. The breakfast was good. The room was clean. But the service was terrible. We spent 5 nights in this hotel. When we arrived, we asked how to get to the Dolmabache Palace. The receptionist told us that we needed to take taxi, and then he offered me a tour to the palace. I asked him whether the tram could take us there. The reply was I needed to walk 30 minutes after getting off the tram. Actually it only took less than 10-minute walk to the palace. He just tried to sell us the tour. We requested shuttle transfer to the airport. They asked us to pay 45 euro in cash, not by credit card, the night before we left. We didn't have euro. So we paid them US$. We were told that the driver would come to pick us up at 4am the following morning. However, when we showed up at the lobby for pick up at 4am, another receptionist told us that he's not aware of our shuttle transfer, and there's no car scheduled to come. Our flight was 7:35am. After some hot discussion, the receptionist refunded us 800 Lira, and called a taxi for us. We were delayed by more than 30 minutes to get to the taxi. This was stressful, and was totally unexpected since the hotel advertises the shuttle transfer between the hotel and the airport. There was no manager's daily reception even though the hotel's website specifies this.
Mohammed (10/5): - This is the best hotel to stay at if you're touring Istanbul, it is the perfect base for your exploring of the city. The staff were exceptional and a very friendly atmosphere. I was welcomed and always felt comfortable to ask for anything if I needed something. The main receptionist I think his name was Sulaiman was extremely helpful definitely needs a pay rise, but made our stay very comfortable.
Shanara (10/5): - The services were impeccable, as there was always staff willing to help us book excursions, book taxis, and help with our luggages. They were extremely helpful.

Talha (10/5): - Location, Location, Location. This probably is one of the best part of this hotel. All the major places, mosques, were walking distance. The tram car was available via 2min walk. Fantastic location. The staff was SUPER respectful, courteous, and friendly. I cannot thank our manager, Suleiman, enough for all his help, and guidance. He was very accommodating.

AAISHA (10/5): - Very good location, amazing staff (Süleyman and Arges) made us feel comfortable, very helpful and a credit to this hotel. Hotel is clean with a nice roof top terrace. Would definitely recommend within a few mins to the metro and local attractions.

Navah (10/5): - As a first time and solo female visitor to Istanbul, God really answered my prayer by directing me to the Azra Sultan. The location is excellent- nearby tourist attractions and in a safe neighborhood. As for Suleyman and the team- he sets the standard for what an excellent hotel manager should be like- attentive and helpful. Every single staff member that i encountered was helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well cleaned. AZ made my time in Istanbul a memorable and comfortable one. May they grow from strength to strength.
Redouane (10/5): - Very good hotel, considering the fact that this is a very old neighborhood in Istanbul and pretty difficult to find something decent unless you're willing to destroy your wallet. This hotel is new, it opened up less than a month ago (May/June 2022). It has very clean, modern rooms with international standards. When I was looking for a place in Sultanahmet before our trip, I was a bit skeptical about this place since it only had a couple of reviews. I did give it a try though and did not regret it. The location of the hotel is amazing, we were literally minutes away from the Hippodrome and AyaSofia. We had a disabled person joining us and it was very easy to navigate around even with a wheelchair. It had a very good buffet breakfast with a good view of AyaSofia and the minaret of the blue mosque (partially). The staff go out of their way to help you out, and everyone seemed to be smiling genuinely :) Beware if you are using a wheelchair (which was our case), that there are a few steps to take before you get to the elevator. The person in the wheelchair will NEED to be able to stand up and put some steps in. I will definitely go to this place again if I had to visit Istanbul in the Sultanahmet area.
