Guest Reviews
- Hollo (9/5): - L'emplacement et la propreté du logement L'usage des espaces communes (machine à laver, toilettes et cuisine) devient compliqué lorsqu'il y a beaucoup de clients
- Menelik (5/5): Functional with no frills attached - The property is clean and in a decent location in terms of amenities and public transport. The kitchen was clean and well appointed with a decent amount of basics like cutlery, crockery, pots, tea, coffee, and even some more 'luxury' items like a basic coffee maker and even a sandwich toaster. There are two washrooms. One has a toilet in it, and there is also a separate toilet on its own which is very convenient considering the potential maximum number of guests. They do supply towels and toilet paper. With locks to both the outer door, and my room door, I felt like my belongings were secure. Parking round the corner in the controlled parking zone was surprisingly cheap but not clear on if it's short or long term. The signage says 4 hours but paying on the app gives you 24 hours by default. I didn't risk it in the end. Finally, there are some nice pubs on Coborn Road nearby, and a cracking Chinese Takeaway as well. It is essentially a converted council flat with locks on the bedroom doors. I had been expecting a purpose built shared flat system akin to what I've experienced in uni accommodation blocks. So while I was aware it was shared, I did not expect it to be quite so intimate. The sound proofing wasn't great and you could easily hear other people's activities. Overall the quality of the rooms felt basic. They had done a landlord special of painting over the original wallpaper with white paint, and it didn't look as nice as in the pictures. But I suppose it's what you can expect considering the price and location. Also, the Google maps location points you to the fancy new builds next door which if you haven't viewed the introduction video can be quite disappointing when you realise you're in the 1960s estate.
- Clara (8/5): Attentive hosts. Convenient, clear instructions and very clean. - Close to my daughter’s place. Housekeeping everyday. Perhaps replace plastic plants with real ones? Dish towel to dry hands. Spruce up interior decor.
- Gary (8/5): -
- Jaco (6/5): - Kitchen is well equipped. There are sufficient bathrooms. Close to grocery and coffee shops.
- Daniel Alejandro (10/5): -
- Eglė (10/5): - Viskas puiku
- Luca (9/5): -
- Juli Matthes (8/5): Good price-performance ratio - - kitchen was well-equipped
- good access to public transport and supermarket
- very clean
- one bathroom plus one separate toilet and bath, we had never issues with overlap with other guests - it is not really soundproofed
- our room was getting really hot
- one of the showers didn't really have hot water
- Boglarka (9/5): Great value accommodation in a nice area - Easy to access, comfy.
- Egor (10/5): - Clean, very warm, excellent management
- Miho (8/5): Great value for money - It was great value for money and a good place if you don't mind sharing shared spaces and are looking for company while in London! Sharing one washing machine was at times a little inconvenient but not bad.
- Maria (6/5): Bien - La ubicación Mucho ruido por la noche por la parte de otros inquilinos de habitaciones
- Hubert (10/5): Serdczenie polecam - Cena adekwatna do standardów, super lokalizacja, metrem 20 min do centrum. Czystość, przybory kuchenne, mogła być cieplejsza woda.
- Xiaolai (8/5): - Comfy room, nice kitchen. About 10min walk to the nearest metro station. On the last night of my stay, there were a few new guests being noisy up until 2am. The house rule clearly says quiet time after 10, but I guess some people just don't care.
- begum (5/5): -
- Tofayel (10/5): -
- Carlos (9/5): - I enjoyed, it was affordable and clean with comfortable bed
- Joni (7/5): -
- Marcin (5/5): Could be great. Too loud and too bright. - The place is pleasant to stay at. Big issue: lots of light leaks into the room as there is a window above the door, so it’s like sleeping in daylight. At night it’s very loud, I think there is one permanent resident (might be wrong). They were super loud at night.
- Lee (10/5): - We stayed here for a full two weeks and overall had a very pleasant experience.
The bed was very soft and comfortable, and the location is excellent, close to Mile End station, where the Tube service is reliable. It takes around 40 minutes to reach central London, and even about 20 minutes if you walk at a faster pace.
There are supermarkets nearby, and having access to a shared kitchen helped us save a lot on travel expenses. The Wi-Fi was very stable throughout our stay, which was greatly appreciated. The area felt safe and quiet. The host was very responsive and responsible, which made our stay even more comfortable and reassuring.
This was our first time visiting the UK, and we were very happy to choose this place as our accommodation. The soundproofing is quite poor. You can easily hear noise from neighboring guests as well as traffic and people outside, and it is possible to be woken up early by garbage trucks. The overall experience can also depend on the behavior of other guests, so those who are sensitive to noise may want to consider this carefully.
The hot water and water pressure in the bathroom can be unstable. From our observation, cleaning staff usually come only on days when guests check out. We would also recommend bringing an extra towel for personal use, as towels are not proactively replaced unless requested in person.
However, considering the price, these issues did not significantly affect our stay. If you are comfortable taking out your own trash, are not very sensitive to noise, and do not have high requirements for hot water stability, this place is definitely worth recommending.
- Emily (5/5): Hard to find cheap housing in London, so it'll do the trick if you don't have better options. - Convenient location for where I needed to be. Useful to have kitchen facilities. Pretty poorly maintained property. Can hear the upstairs neighbors. And very poor isolation between the rooms in the apartment. I was witness to an uncomfortable argument next door...
Towels were stained, and host promised a new one (by text) every day, yet never followed through. I finally found someone cleaning the house on day 5 and got a new towel... Also stained but at least just with makeup
Bathrooms are pretty dirty. Bring shower shoes.
Kitchen is the kind of place you want to wash your dishes before and after you use them.
Security cameras pointing every direction in the hall and kitchen. Feels very invasive. At best like you're on reality TV, at worst like you're a criminal.
Bedsheets are synthetic, and house was set to 24 degrees, so woke up in a sweat/fever dreams every night.
Solo room is very very small. No room for bag + getting dressed, have to sit on the bed to move. There's no decorations like in the photos either, just plain white sheets, a broken bed frame and chipped white walls.

- NATALIIA (10/5): - It was very clean everywhere. There is a tube and a bus stop nearby, which is very convenient.
- Tofayel (4/5): - Heating wasn’t working
- Inês (8/5): -
- Olayinka (9/5): - Provide was very clean. Location was very quiet, Bed was comfortable with clean sheets. The location was very good for me to get to work. I would definitely book this property in the future.
- María del Mar (6/5): - . .
- Maximus (1/5): Not good at all. Especially in the morning when you want to have a lazy morning. The cleaning lady comes in at 8 in mor - The two bartrooms They gave me a very small room
Couldn’t move at all in there
Ask them for a bigger room
And they said no
But yet they moved the one next to me to another room
And her room was free
If I knew I would get a small room like that I wouldn’t book it
Very disappointed
And I was there for 3 weeks
People coming and going
They could’ve had the small room as they are not there for long
- ALKAN (4/5): -
- mohammed (5/5): - Room cold as window don’t lock properly, not value for money
- Shahin (3/5): Für 1-2 übernachtungen okay - Die Lage war gut. Die Möbel waren uralt und die Türen haben gequitscht.
- Beata (9/5): - Lokalita
- Williams (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Oscar Eduardo (9/5): Basic but good. Good quality/price ratio. - Location. Room was good enough. Easy connection to city center. Good kitchen and toilets facilities. Quiet neighborhood.
- Evangeline B (10/5): Safe location. Close to everything . The house was clean and.tidy. - Walking distance to everything None at the moment
- Kay (9/5): An excellent stay, great price, and responsive hosts - I will stay here again! - It was a great price, and delivered what it advertised. The housecleaner came every day (I think) and cleaned the common rooms. The bed was comfortable, the desk was large, and the fan was definitely appreciated. There was no one on property, but all responses were very quick whenever I had a question. I liked everything, but it was a bit of a walk from the Tube for me (Google Maps says 15 minutes). I am older and walked pulling a suitcase, so it took longer. The distance won’t likely be of any concern to most people. I knew the distance when I booked it, and still chose it. The value superseded the distance, to me. I will stay again, and use a taxi or Uber!
- Samuel Lobo (7/5): -
- Antonio (8/5): Clean, tidy and well located - It was clea, tidy and good located, surrounded buy shops. There was too much clarity in the room during the morning(the sunrise in UK in summer is around 5am), the curtains wasn't much smaller than the actual window. It was also a bit noisy
- Alexandra (1/5): - Nothing. The room was smaller than in the picture, the mattress was damaged, the windows couldn't close, the key lock when we arrived had a different code then the one in the video, and we had to wait 1h until someone come to open the key lock. And the ,,apartment was across the street " we are very disappointed is not worth the money. We had to cancel after just 30mins we entered the flat. We requested a cancellation fee,and they took the whole amount of 155 instead of 75£. With the same amount we find a clean ,comfortable apartment. We're we could feel like home. We we're very Disappointed of our experience.
- Daniel (10/5): Good stay! - Great price, had a great view of the neighborhood as well! I loved how each room had its own A/C. I liked how each room had its own pre-prepared towels too for guests. I had a few issues however, so I wanted to make a suggestion:
laundry hours for all guests (Some people were leaving their laundry in the machine when I needed to wash them, maybe a limit of an hour or so for how long the clothes can be left in there while inactive?). Sometimes rubbish would get too full and others didn't take it out right away. Someone in the lodge kept stomping and slamming doors during curfew when others were trying to sleep, the room I stayed in could also use repair work, other than that, nothing else to report.
- & (10/5): Exceptional - Wow very good place and comfortable no complain
- Justus (10/5): Huge recommendation - I felt much like being at home. Everything was available: a well-equipped kitchen, free washing machine, an ironer. Everything was clean and the other guests were quiet. It's a pretty cool area too! It was perfect. Nothing!
- Okuma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miguel (9/5): Superb -
- Wobiad (8/5): Great place to stay , comfy room - Location and room was comfy Toilets , sometimes other guest wouldnt clean the toilet but this isnt the fault of the host. Guest should at least flush the toilet and keep it tidy,
- Weronika (2/5): Dont rent this place - Do not stay here My room locked itself with all my belongings inside, including my documents, phone, money, clothes—everything. The property managers refused to fix the lock because it was “too expensive.” From the very beginning, the door wasn’t functioning properly, and this issue was completely foreseeable. When the problem finally happened and I was left with absolutely nothing—no documents, no money, no help—the landlords refused to assist me. They ignored me, I had to make hundreds of calls. They said it would simply be too expensive to fix it immediately and didn’t care that I had nowhere to sleep and literally nothing with me. If it wasn’t for my boyfriend living in London who helped me, I would have been in serious trouble. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place—their behavior was unacceptable. They put me in danger just because the repair might have cost an extra £10–£20 that day. And I could’ve ended up on the street.
I won’t even get into the loud flatmates who sing at night, come home drunk, and the fact that the place doesn’t include all the things that were listed in the description. The bathrooms are dirty and moldy. I don’t think the bedding is ever changed. The windows barely open—they’re old and hard to move. Just no.
Also, keep in mind that cameras track your every move—there are literally cameras everywhere. I don’t know if that’s legal, I don’t know if that’s normal, but those are the facts.
- Gharouni (10/5): Recommended - Clean, good facilities, organized setup. I got this place the same day I flew to London, and the setup was straightforward. The entrance was old and the vicinity was a little gloomy and not alive.
- Stefania (8/5): Very good - Everyone minding their business Nil
- Jayawardene (9/5): Superb -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Han (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stola (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the room for 8 nights and we were truly surprised of how good and clean the apartment was! The kitchen and both of the bathrooms were always clean, we should’ve clean it up right after we use it, almost everyone of the guests followed the rules. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment, the other guests were helpful and polite, the variation of public transport in the area was really good too!!would recommend and come back 100% There were some problems with the heating system in the room but that was not a big problem, because the room was surprisingly warm by itself.
- Hamid (1/5): Bad -
- Mathew (1/5): Bad - I couldn’t find the key to the door in the cold rainy night, so I had to book another hotel
- Belinda (9/5): Loved staying at Bow House. We'll definitely be back again. Comfortable and extremely well-priced - The flat had clean, large rooms. The accommodation was self-catering, with we had everything we could need in the kitchen, including a washing machine. The accommodation manager was great, and the owner was incredibly accommodating and kind. It was also about 10-15 minutes walk from Mile End underground station, and 2-5 minutes walk from the closest bus station. Nothing. The accommodation was extremely well-priced, clean and comfortable
- Jasmina (9/5): Superb - Very quiet place, very clean.
You have all the necessary electrical appliances in the kitchen and bathroom.
- Jonathan (10/5): Good - Neat, quiet, clean, hot water, washing machine Please consider 11am check out on a Sunday.
- Jonathan (10/5): Great place. Nice. - Nice place. Straight forward. Good heating. You can even wash your clothes. Not applicable.
- Jonathan (10/5): Nice - Clean with hot water 10am check out on a Sunday feels very early.
- Kamuran (10/5): Perfect 👌 10/10 - Everything was perfect. 🙂👍🏼
- Bertrand (5/5): Passable - Location very convenient. Very noisy from one room the next. Heard a whole phone conversation at 2am.
Spring mattress not very comfortable.
- Pamela (6/5): Disappointing - there was access to a kitchen and washing machine This was basically a hostel although not advertised as such
The key is in a lock box and there was no contact with staff
The bathrooms are shared and one toilet was so small it was difficult to close the door
No TV
- Vedrana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (9/5): Easy access and well explained by owner who was quick to reply and very nice -
- Zach (5/5): Passable -
- Anna (5/5): positive things: quiet during the night, 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets, washing machine. - no heating, only one duvet - for me and my daughter, no extra blankets. dirty doors, only one hair dryer
- Elghozail (9/5): Superb -
- Elita (10/5): Very good place to stay - Very clean property, big room, kitchen got everything you need for cooking, more than basic things, good shower, it was perfect for my needs A bit fare from station
- Pornpilai (7/5): Good - Quiet neighbourhood. Staff always responded quickly. Kitchen is accessible at any time and kitchen rules is reasonable. It was helpful on the check out day, we could leave our luggages to stand by before our flight time.
- Gandhi (3/5): Horrible - The owner try his best with the communication. But too much to find the key. Also the rules of place. Cameras too much The smell. Also it like you are in jail with all the cameras . And my room look different from the pictures
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- Roman (9/5): Superb -
- Osman (9/5): Great value accomodation. - Very clean and safe, multiple facilities and amenities available. With the heat, they even provided aircon. The bed was a little uncomfortable but I could still sleep well.
- Victoria (9/5): Fantastic stay for a great price. - The self check in process was well explained even though I’ve struggled in the past with it at other places. Host was very easy to get ahold of. Price is a great value for the money.
- Freya (5/5): Did the job but was in the end a place to store my things and sleep rather than a nice environment. - Location was a nice 10-15 walk from the main tube station, close to lots of local eateries, shops etc. Access to a wardrobe and desk was nice. Neighbourhood was quiet at night time which was good. The rooms themselves were clean but did not have a clock or a mirror which would have been appreciated- i had to sit in the hallway to do hair and makeup which may have inconvenienced other guests. Instructions on how to use oven would also be good as the knobs were pretty confusing. There were lots of scuffs and things on the walls which and the windowsill in my room was pretty dirty. Also the shower near the front door did not drain properly, thankfully there was another shower to use but had I not noticed this there could have been flooding which would not be good. The walls were also quite thin and i could hear some movement in other rooms, this made me quite self-conscious of how much noise my partner and I were making.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Makuch (10/5): Exceptional - Great location just a short walk away from Mile End and Victoria Park.
Shops are virtually at the doorstep.
Hassle-free, straightforward check-in and check-out.
The property gets cleaned daily and has all the facilities and appliances you might need during your stay.
The management are super-responsive - they reply to the messages literally in a couple of minutes.
I will definitely use SleepyLodge again whenever I need to stay in London.
- Bogdan (6/5): It was a pleasant stay which could have been amazing with some more involvement from the host - Apartment was ok. With lots of extras (e.g. iron, hair dryer, vacuum). The number of bathrooms was also great. The location, close to Roman market was also nice (and other stores and restaurants) However, there were some things we were not happy about such cleanliness (happy to provide picture with dust all around, especially under the bed and on window frames).
There are no mirrors in the rooms to use for dressing up or makeup. The bathrooms also lack sockets
There doors are making annoying squeaking sounds when opening or closing them (especially the room doors) and the locking mechanism on the doors is rudimentary, locking the room twice (luckily someone else was in the room and unlocked it from the inside)
Unfortunately, everything in the house seemed very low quality (from the tesco soap in the bathrooms to the broken clothes hanging for drying). The smell in the house was quite strong and not pleasant (but could probably be solved by letting windows opens and some thorough cleaning).
Finally, you can easily hear everyone in the other rooms even when they are whispering, with the worst part being the 5-6 cameras across the apartment
- Mariia (6/5): Overcharge - The property is well located, room is clean and quite comfortable, exactly how is provided on the photo. Manager is answering quickly and doing his best to resolve any issue. After you have booked they sent you extra 18 rules that were not mentioned before booking. Among them for example to clean kitchen bin like the responsibility of maintenance apartment work is transferred on a guest. This really confused me as I found it in the kitchen full and not very clean. The checkin is a bit complicated
Also when I’ve got an issue manager suggested me to cancel booking with getting a refund exactly how I paid for the days that left what was what I’d like to do. But in fact I got only a partial refund without including in it the £80 fees (at least part of it for the days that left) so cancellation became not that reasonable for me and when I asked the manager to explain about this fee and that he told it will be counted into refund he suddenly became unaccessible (seems that blocked me in WhatsApp).
- Sai (5/5): Passable -
- Saud (7/5): The rental price is very high. I do not think that the price of that room is supposed to be this high. It costs the equi -
- Nadezhda (7/5): Good -
- Bhavik (8/5): Clean place for short stays - Clean , organized space. 15 mins walk from tube station but manageable
- Carol (3/5): Overpriced for what you get -
- Edward (10/5): Excellent stay - The location to London and the quality of facility. Only one issue as my room was locked so I had to call to gain access to a key which was eventually resolved.
- Pam (8/5): Very good - The house is nice inside
Clean, bed is confy Is bit far from any station, so to comeback from work at night was a bit scary
- Kbyville (4/5): I would definitely avoid B&Bs in the future - The only reason I stayed at this accommodation was because of the low price as London is amongst the most unaffordable cities in the world to even visit. You're doomed for a tough time if you're travelling alone. This property really needs to update its hygiene standards. It's cleaning team cleans the toilets and takes care of the bedsheets at the same time, which is deeply uncomfortable. It's not confirmed whether the cleaners keep proper hygiene by washing their hands with soap. I had a lot of anxiety when the cleaning team did not confirm that they washed their hands with soap before they dealt with the bedsheets.
- Osama (5/5): It was under my expectations - Cleanliness Very small room & far location
- Zeyneba (8/5): Very good -
- Chijioke (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vojtěch (10/5): Exceptional - Simplicity, cleanliness and communication Some of the roommates were loud
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Hugh (9/5): Amazing host, always immediately available - Neat, exceptionally clean, I liked the taking off shoes on entrance Slight distance from Mile End Underground, but only because I had quite a bit of luggage. The Uber however was quick and extremely cheap
- Dilan (10/5): I felt really comfortable during my travel. Thank you for their help. - It was so clean and silent along with two bathrooms. When i need help the Burak from propetry team contacted me as soon as possible. Thank you for help and kindness. I felt so comportable during my trip.
- Yingying (8/5): Very good -
