- Margaret (10/5): A Gem in Trastevere - I had never stayed at the Loly. I have to say I was impressed. It is now on my listed of preferred hotels in Trastevere. ♥️

- Jeffrey (6/5): - If you book, be sure not to get room 102, it’s right beside the elevator and front desk, and it is very loud. They have double steel doors separating your entrance from the elevator, presumably for noise but it doesn’t work, and just makes the room feel less. Otherwise, the hotel is very nice and the location is great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mixed bag - The neighborhood is a mixed bag - lots of graffiti and people shaking us down for cash or running a scheme from the moment we walked off the plane. Be very careful in Rome. Don't let ANYONE stop you at the airport. Even the front desk of the hotel - though friendly - was looking to make a buck. You can't trust any pricing given for taxi or shuttles. I wish I would have stayed somewhere else. When I told the front desk about some of the intimidating problems we had at the airport and with our taxi driver who pretended to have issues with the credit card machine and insisted he drive my husband to an ATM for cash, she laughed and said "this is common". I then got hustled by the front desk for them to set up a cab for us that increased 3 times with each front desk encounter I had. (They started with 50 Euros to the train station, then it was 55, then 80!) Booked my own cab for 27 Euros! This is Rome. The hotel is clean and fine but we were so uncomfortable with the surroundings and staff that we couldn't wait to leave.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent hotel - Hotel was fine. Staff were nice, brought bags to room and receptionist was friendly. Room was quite small but that’s probably standard enough in rome. No water in the room and was told I couldn’t refill my water flask at breakfast which seems a bit cheap for a 4 star hotel. The room had external access only - it was located outside of the main hotel building - you have to leave the building and walk around the back of the hotel to access the room. It felt safe and secure but good to know if you would prefer internal access. Mini bar was stocked with champagne but only paper cups in the room. Otherwise the decor is nice and the condition of the building is good. Breakfast was decent. Location was great, area was lovely with loads of nice restaurants.
- Holly (10/5): - Location to action in Trastevere was perfect. Only about 30-40 min walk to most key areas of Rome. Walking is best way to see things. Hotel was very clean, tidy and finished to high standard. Staff were very helpful, always greeting us. Breakfast was a good selection and something for everyone. Great location and value for money. Can't really find a fault. Really happy with our stay for 5 nights.

- Nafiz (2/5): - The hotel staff is rude and was not helpful. I planned a romantic vacation for my girlfriend and myself. The hotel placed us in a room with two beds and did not provide master king bed that was part of the booking. They refused to make change after notifying the staff. In addition, the hotel staff did not properly clean the room and left us used towels. I could not tell if the service was due to our ethnicities, but there were some racist and insensitive comments made. If you are not white, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel offered parking but had no available spots when we arrived. Although check in was at 3pm and I understand that, the staff didn’t seem to put any urgency or care to try to get us in a room early if it was possible. Otherwise it was perfect location and perfect for the price .

The hotel is situated on a quiet block, so you will get a good nights sleep. Location is within good walking distance to everything Rome has to offer.

Enjoyed the daily breakfast, hotel staff was accommodating, lounge was comfortable. A king-size bedroom was soooo small so we spent time in the lounge rather than our room. Sadly, everywhere in that area is covered in graffiti---such a disappointment to see that. Some good restaurants within easy walking distance. Staff good about calling cabs, printing boarding passes, etc. We had dinner there twice --- delicious meals!

- Brenda (6/5): - Quaint little hotel with typically small but well designed European rooms, nice breakfast buffet, and convenient walkable location for dinners (site seeing though was always a 2-mile walk or a cab away). Staff was jeckyl-and-hyde ... some were amazingly accommodating and polite, one in particular (Simon, I think?) was bizarrely rude, answering questions with "that information is in your room" and turning his back to fiddle with papers, and another time when told the cleaner had forgotten to put any toilet paper in the room he told us "they clean the rooms every day and she will be there tomorrow"... umm... was he suggesting we wait until the next day to use the bathroom? We asked the bellman for the TP, someone else for the shampoo the next day (that they also didn't replace when empty) and then avoided this man whenever he was on shift during our 8-day stay. Really ruined what would otherwise have been a great stay.

- PATRICE (4/5): - Location and facilities are great. The front desk staff was cold and militant. They forbid guests to enter the rooms unless they registered a license or passport. Nobody could sit in the lounge or bar area except at prescribed times. No staff at the bar or the roof deck. Bizarre. Not a good vibe at all. Something strange about the place. Too bad cause it’s in a great location, very clean and the bedding and pillows were awesome.

Breakfast in the morning was nice with lots of options. The hotel is close enough to the main attractions that you can walk, but far enough away that it’s quiet and not overcrowded by tourists. We would definitely stay there again.

- Robert (10/5): Great hotel in a great neighborhood - We were looking for a hotel in a location that was walkable as well as interesting and definitely found it at the Loly. The hotel, while small, was very nicely appointed and situated in the Trastevere neighborhood - well outside of the center of the city and its traffic but was very walkable and in the middle of many restaurants and shops. Everyone at the hotel was extremely professional and friendly. While we did not eat at the hotel, both the main bar and the rooftop bar were elegant and romantic. If we are lucky enough to make it back to Rome, we will definitely consider returning to the Loly.

- Stuart (8/5): - We were a family of 4 traveling to Rome. The hotel was very clean and the staff was excellent (very helpful and responsive). The breakfast provided was also nice. The only issue was we had a ground floor room and the noise from the floor grating when carts were being pushed (luggage & laundry) disturbed our sleep in the early morning. This would not be a problem in other rooms. The area was very close to great dining options and an easy walk to the major attractions. We would recommend this hotel to couples and small families wanting a clean, comfortable hotel that’s afiordable.
- Taylor (6/5): Unimpressed - Very very average. By no means was this hotel/experience a bad one. However it’s advertised as a high end boutique hotel and it certainly wasn’t that. The location is a touch off the beaten path, but with a 10 minute walk you’re back in the action so not a huge issue. The floors and levels are a little tricky requiring you to take multiple elevators depending on what floor you’re on. We thought we reserved a room with a balcony, but it’s more like a semi-private patio. It’s not completely closed off and instead opens up to the common patio… very nice but you won’t want to have your coffee in a robe outside for example. The staff is lovely but definitely where you notice it’s not a luxury hotel experience. No one was ever rude, but they also never went out of their way to help. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready and ended up being ready 40 minutes after check-in. Not a huge deal but wish they would have acknowledged the inconvenience of not being able to get in until 4pm. The day before checkout we requested a taxi for the morning. I wrote down all the details (time, airport etc) on a piece of paper and gave it to the desk in the morning. Later that evening I stopped by the desk again to confirm the taxi would be ready and they didn’t have any record of us needing a taxi so I had to write it all out again. I’m glad I did because we had an early flight out. On the day we arrived, we wanted to enjoy a bottle of wine, but didn’t have a wine opener. We called down to the front

- Gordon (8/5): - Cute boutique hotel in the heart of Trastevere. Room was clean, love the decor. It was a very small room but perfect for one person. Had an outdoor patio which was a nice touch. Very quiet in the evening too. Nice breakfast, friendly staff.

- Neil (10/5): - The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was quiet and the breakfast was very nice. The hotel is within walking distance of some lovely restaurants and within 30-40 minutes walk of some of the major attractions. Overall we had a lovely stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

- Eralda (10/5): Wonderful - It was wondeful. Roe was super busy at this time of the year so staying at Loly was an oasis. Close yet far from turist frenzy. The place was so nice, room great and spacious even if when we booked it says 15 sqm. Staff was great and friendly.
- James (2/5): - Avoid! Dont risk your holiday to beautiful Rome by staying here. Incredibly rude staff with no concept of customer service. There only objective is to extract money, by deceptive means Only once we had checked in and paid, did they decide to tell us that the water and electricity would be switched off in the morning, and that we had to be out of the hotel by 8am. When we asked to cancel the room they declined and charged us for the night. The room was small and dirty, and the tea and coffee was a single sachet of Nescafé - and if you wanted milk then it was a 10 euro charge! Expedia tried to resolve our disagreement, but the hotel refused to engage and charged us despite us not being able to stay that night since they couldn’t offer basic services. Please be warned - you stay here at your risk, and they will not be interested in resolving any issue
- Laura (10/5): - lovely and modern hotel. room was very clean. The bar/lounge area is super cute. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Katie (8/5): - I felt mostly safe at Loly Hotel. As a female solo traveler, that is very important to me. The hotel was clean and modern, like the pictures. The breakfast was filling and had variety. I would recommend requesting a room on the 2nd floor of the hotel. I was on the first floor near reception and also the alley of the hotel. While no one was noisy or extra loud, there was still enough to wake me up or disturb me. If you are a deep sleeper though, you should be fine. Also, you cant (shouldn't) really open your window on the first floor, as you are ground level and it's not particularly safe with people walking by. Lastly, I found some of the staff to not be very welcoming. Every morning when leaving, I would say good morning or hello and the woman (older blonde) would look at me, say nothing, look back at her computer. This happened every single day. Maybe I am used to warm and friendly welcoming staff, but she was not it. Overall- Hotel Loly is a good value for the money and in a nice location away from the touristy center of Rome. However, I would like to try another hotel next time I am in Rome.
