• Daren (1/5): Unsatisfactory - So called deluxe room was little more than a closet- bed very tight squeezed against walls. View of roof and rattling AC units. Bar staff run accomodation and are too busy serving schooners and TAB machine to care- it's all that's available so very briskly told "take it or leave it" (no refund). They said it was 20M² but in reality was 10-12M² + small bathroom. PS: Super.com very suspect middleman carrying zero responsibility or service. Be clear what you're going to get- I recommend calling ahead before booking because their version of deluxe is far from the dictionary version. Bordering on illegal "bait and switch" behaviour but life's too short.

• Sangeetha (4/5): Overall the experince was not that good because of matress. - We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The staff were friendly, and was close to the public transport. The mattress was excessively soft, which made it uncomfortable as we felt like we were sinking into it. We had difficulty with the matress and I had body pain for some time even after we returned. The whole day we were out and when it was time to rest we couldnot rest properly because of matress.

• Tam (9/5): Comfortable, clean, cost-effective Penshurst Hotel - It was excellent value for what you get. A comfortable room. Access to food and travel. Helpful, friendly staff. The window doesn't open. That's a very minor thing, and probably contributes to noise reduction, which is a good thing. Teensy bit of mold in the grout, but hard to avoid in a dark, enclosed ensuite (having an ensuite at that price was a wonderful find in the first place).
• Paul (6/5): Comfortable and what we needed - it's not 5-star but fir for purpose. - Value for money. Close proximity to where we wanted to stay. Hard to get the room serviced and cleaned, we had to ask numerous times each day and got frustrated with this. Room was very small but value for money (for what we paid for). Carpark didn't open until 9:30am so we could not park our car in there over night as needed to use it early in the morning. Because staff didn't start until mid morning it was difficult to speak to anyone if we had issues and concerns i.e. our room needed to be cleaned.

Good price for the room. Spacious, clean bathroom. Small living area for three people + luggage. Unable to open windows, including in the bathroom, which made it a bit stuffy.

• Tracey (8/5): Perfect 👌 - The only issue was the bed mattress actually had a body sized dip on one side (obviously the mattress hasn't been turned at all). Other than that it was quiet, clean, updated decor and was amazing considering the cost of the room. Great old pub, decorated accordingly using original stairs, tiles etc. Security was great and attentive helpful staff.

• Geoff (8/5): It’s a good local suburban pub with good staff and facilities - Friendly staff, good location for what we wanted and very competitive rates. The bed was soft and comfortable, but a little too soft for our liking!

• Teresa (9/5): Great value for money, lovely stay - Friendly staff, great room with ensuite, quiet location, good amenities in room - TV, aircon, iron, safe, fridge etc. Bedside power points with both USB-A & USB-C was a nice touch. Better than most pub rooms. There was also a service lift from the secure carpark, which would be really useful if you had heavy bags, and a lift to the accommodation area, which was accessed by swipe key. The bed was a bit soft. Four pillows was nice but it would be nice if some were also hard.

Would recommend and stay again. - Very clean and tidy, centre of Penshurst so really close to the station, it’s a great location for getting around into the centre of Sydney. The staff were super helpful and friendly, there was evening music or quizzes, entertainment and it felt lively. The food was pub food but it was a very reasonable price and decent quality. The bed was soft and comfortable and the shower pressure was fantastic. Really was a wonderful stay! A couple of nights we woke up to a delivery or loud sounds from the street however that’s not the hotels fault. Bed a little too soft for my back.

W pokojach jest awaria klimatyzacji, co sprawia, ze w nocy rytmicznie co 40 sekund (!) pojawia się huczący dźwięk, który uniemożliwia zaśnięcie. Wieczorem zgłosiliśmy to recepcji, która poinformowała nas, ze nie moze zmienic nam pokoju i proponuje nam wypicie piwa na dobry sen, co uznaliśmy za kuriozalne. Zaproponowano nam zwrot środków za nieprzespaną noc, czego w ogóle nie wykonano po naszym wyjeździe. Ostatecznie, na kolejną noc zmieniono nam pokój na sąsiedni, w którym był identyczny problem z klimatyzacją. Nie wyspaliśmy się w ogóle.

• Shannon (6/5): - The rooms are renovated and clean. Bed linen is good. Generally clean modern accommodation. Bistro is conveniently located downstairs and a decent menu with good specials. Good shopping in the Main Street. Close to train station. Free parking. I’d give a higher rating but for the plant room I was next to. The machinery noise coming out of that room at all hours interrupted my sleep every night. People smoke cigarettes in the pub downstairs (!pretty sure that’s illegal in NSW!) so the smell of smoke is present.

• LouAnne (5/5): Disappointed but had the best sleep - The beds are so comfortable. We had the best sleeps in them. The fridge was leaking, milk was off, the cups looked like they were wiped clean with a towel we used for the bathroom. We booked a 3rd night and added an extra room. Check-in for the 2nd room was supposed to be at 2pm, however room wasnt ready until 3.30pm-4pm. We were also made to believe the rooms would be cleaned daily as stated on booking.com. No matter how many days we stayed, but we were told otherwise. One staff member said we had to ask the Housekeeping staff to clean our room, whilst another said that it only gets cleaned if we are long stayers. My brother and I stayed here not long ago, and the room was cleaned without us having to ask. Very confusing.

• Justin (3/5): A bit disappointing - I loved the soft bed, great shower, nice bathroom. Staff were friendly overall. Room smelled of cigarettes. The aircon unit made a loud buzzing noise every 5 mins or so, disrupting any attempts to sleep. Window bolted shut and doesn’t open. Very warm and airless as I turned aircon unit off due to persistent noise.

Would have scored excellent if it wasn’t for the poky room w - After the incident with the underwear we were offered another room. I just wish they’d given this one to us first. It was excellent, spacious, clean and a nice outlook. Such a shame we had to experience that first room! Considering also that many rooms were empty. The room we were given was tiny, not good value for the price we paid. And then…the very worst experience, faeces stained woman’s underwear on the floor beside the bed!! We dined in and had a lovely meal, the staff were very friendly. Until I found a black hair in mine (it wasn’t the chef’s, he was bald) We were too shocked to take a pic of that room or the underwear!

• ANDREE (1/5): - Ce n’est pas un hôtel. Il n’y a pas de réception, seulement un écran où une personne répond aux appels sans courtoisie. Il n’y a pas d’ascenseur, seulement un escalier étroit. L’apparence des lieux donne l’impression que c’est une maison de chambres. Nous avions réservé mais avons refusé d’y rester.
